《典范英语》(6_10)教学参考Jellyfish Shoes教学参考的目的在于为实验课提供一个基本的思路和框架,帮助实验教师更好地把握课题理念。
课题组鼓励实验教师结合学生的实际情况适当做出调整,将实验课上出特色。
一、教学目标1.语言目标:学生能够听懂并理解故事的内容;能够有感情地、绘声绘色地朗读;能够复述故事的主要情节;能够完成与故事相关的写作任务。
2.非语言目标:培养学生的自信心,引导学生养成深入了解情况之后再下结论的思维习惯。
说明:语言目标由教师负责检查,确保学生完成任务,达到要求。
非语言目标具有开放性,需要教师围绕有意义的话题与学生进行真诚交流,激发学生的学习兴趣和参与热情,让学生在有思想、有内容的开放性语言实践活动中习得语言,树立正确的价值观。
二、课时安排要求学生每周完成一部作品,每周安排一节或两节实验课,课时安排在学生读完该部作品之后。
三、课前任务要求学生每天朗读15-20分钟,辅以默读。
做到听读结合,认真把握和体会故事的内容,并适当积累好词好句。
四、课堂教学基本步骤1. 导入(Lead-in):启发学生思考教师提出与故事相关的问题,请学生自由作答,如:Do you know jellyfish?(展示课件中关于jellyfish在海中的图片)They live in the sea.Do you have jelly shoes? Are they made of such jellyfish?Do you like them? Why or why not?Does Laura in this story like her jelly shoes at the very beginning?教师将学生引入故事情景:Laura is very proud of her new pink jelly shoes, but she throws them away later. Whathappened? Let’s read from the very beginning.2. 朗读(Reading aloud):朗读与思考相结合检查学生朗读。
请几个学生朗读第1章(P11-P13),要求学生尽量模仿录音中的语音语调,在理解的基础上读出感情。
读的同时,可让学生思考几个问题,如:What did jellyfish look like? Did Laura like jellyfish?What did Laura’s jelly shoes look like? Did Laura like her jelly shoes?Whyisthe book entitled“Jellyfish Shoes”?3. 复述(Retelling):关注内容与语言表达的准确性,锻炼学生连贯表达思想的能力朗读之后,根据之前给学生提出的几个问题,自然地切入复述环节。
教师开头后引导学生对jellyfish,jelly shoes进行具体描述,可以从故事中找原句,也可以用自己的话来表达。
教师把学生提到的词和词组写在黑板上(部分已经展示在课件上),如:slippery, like a jelly cow-pat, pink, a nasty sting, pongy等,然后让学生讨论Laura对jellyfish, jelly shoes的态度。
以Laura态度的转变为主线来复述整个故事。
在这个过程中,教师可利用图片(见课件)或配合问题加以引导学生,如:How did Laura feel about her new shoes at the beginning?Why did Laura begin to dislike her jelly shoes?Why did Laura throw her new shoes away?What did Laura do when Mum showed her the jelly shoes the next morning? Why?What did Laura dislike about jellyfish?How did Laura change her mind about the jellyfish? (P18-P20)另外,对于Laura态度的转变,还可以通过故事中的描述来体现。
如最开始描述jellyfish,用的是like a jelly cow-pat, a nasty sting, pongy这些贬义(unfavorable,derogatory)描述。
而到了最后,则是tiny frilly parachutes, sparkle like jewel, poured out like rainbows这些褒义(favorable, commendatory)描述。
也可以让学生通过找出相关的描述语句来理清Laura态度转变的过程。
4. 表演(Role Play):(可选)锻炼学生的表达能力通过复述,学生对Laura态度的转变以及整个故事的发展都有了整体的把握。
此时,学生应该已经了解了使Laura对jellyshoes和jellyfish的态度发生转变的关键点。
教师可以进一步让学生通过表演加深理解。
建议选择第1章后半部分和第2章(Scott’s story about jellyfish factory),以及第4章(Laura’s discovery: beautiful jellyfish)让学生表演。
在表演之前,教师应该明确评价标准,并鼓励学生在表演时注意人物的语音语调,表现出人物心理的变化。
5. 人物分析(Character Analysis):培养学生的归纳论证能力根据复述环节对Laura 态度的转变以及表演环节中对Scott杜撰的jellyfish factory的故事的讨论,让学生展开分析Laura 和Scott这两个人物,描述其性格特征。
在学生说出自己的观点之后,要求他们从故事中找出证据来支撑。
What do you think about Laura? Why do you think so?What do you think about Scott? Why do you think so?可参考以下词汇,建议教师板书:Scott: naughty, honest by nature, kind, loving...Laura:naïve, simple, kind...6. 讨论(Discussion):培养学生的批判性思维能力教师提出问题,组织讨论,引导学生自己发现故事的主题,表达他们的看法(可以把以下问题放在PPT上显示出来,让学生分组进行讨论,问题前的关键词语不要在PPT上显示,此处仅供教师参考):EXPLAIN Why do you think Laura let her shoes float out to sea at the end of the story?MAKE ASSUMPTIONS If you were Laura, what would you do with the jellyfish and the jelly shoes?MAKE JUDGMENTS Do you think the jelly shoes would be back again? Why?EV ALUATE What do you like about the story?提醒学生进行讨论的规则是:(1)每个人都要有说话的机会;(2)别人讲话说不得打断、干扰;(3)支持并补充他人的观点;(4)如果不想说可以不说;(5)提问要深思熟虑。
鼓励学生在该环节畅所欲言。
7. 拼读练习(Phonics Practising):培养拼读意识,掌握拼读技能从下表中选取一组具有相同拼读规律的单词,引导学生发现其中的拼读规律,然后给几个新的含有同一字母组合的单词,以此增强学生的拼读意识。
也可以选取几组课堂听写,但听写时切勿给汉语让学生写英文。
该环节最多占用课堂时间2-3分钟。
8. 词汇学习(V ocabulary Development):有意义的词汇学习在这个故事中,有许多描述“走”的单词或短语(如下表所示),教师可先让学生把这9. 布置作业(Homework)(1)写作(任选一题)①描写水母,或描写自己熟悉的一种动物。
借鉴作品中的词汇和描写手法,力求具体、生动。
②续写这个故事,水母鞋最后飘向了何方?他是否会像Laura想象的那样,在大海里和鲸鱼、海豚、章鱼一起游泳嬉戏?或者水母鞋又像上一次一样又飘回了海滩?发挥你的想象力,续写这个故事,字数不限。
③根据故事的内容写一篇摘要(summary),不少于100词。
(2)读下一部作品,注意体会作品内容,积累生词和好句。
五、教师自我反思:培养学生的思考能力教师每堂课后要进行自我反思,反思的问题包括:1.提问。
我问的问题值得讨论吗?问了多少个问题?什么类型的问题?2.讨论。
老师和学生讨论了什么?学生是否试图回答了要问的问题?大家进行了很好的讨论了吗?3.听。
师生相互认真倾听了吗?师生对他人的说法作出回应了吗?讨论中彼此互相尊重吗?4.说。
师生清楚了解自己的想法吗?有什么好的想法吗?师生在这些想法上能够产生更好的想法吗?每个人都有机会表达自己的观点了吗?谁说得最多?5.思考。
师生对问题找到答案了吗?答案给出的理由令人信服吗?师生愿意改变自己的想法吗?师生进行了怎样的思考?师生从讨论中学到了什么?师生提升了自己的思考吗?有或没有?下一次讨论什么?下一次讨论的最好方式是什么?师生需要记住什么?。
