The astronauts will work with the ground team to finish the building of the Tiangong Space Station. The crew arrived at Tiangong on Sunday afternoon.Liu Yang, the first Chinese woman in outer space, said on Saturday in Jiuquan, that she and two other astronauts—Chen Dong and Cai Xuzhe—would be very busy during their stay, and they were going to do their job while Tiangong Space Station was changing its shape. We will perform a large number of scientific experiments and also offer educational activities for pupils online,” she said. “This is also the first time that Chinese astronauts will celebrate our National Day in space.”In an interview with China Central Television before they flew to the space, Liu said she had talked to her daughter and son about her six-month trip.“I explained why their mom needed to take part in this great project and why I would be away fromhome for half a year. The curtailing of flights worldwide has highlighted just how important air travel is to the global economy, not only directly but also as an essential part of the broader travel and tourism sector, the world's largest industry. Also, 3 , not the Chinese authorities, that ordered the three US carriers operating passenger flights between the countries to suspend their China operations in early February, when China was battling the virus in Hubei province.True, the US airlines applied to resume their operations in May, 4 . But the situation in the US at that time made it impossible for the CAAC to approve the US carriers' applications.5 , such as making it compulsory for all on board a plane to wear face masks — because if the increased number of flights do not lead to a spike in infections, it will instill confidence thatair travel can get back to normal sooner rather than later.A.It is to be hoped that the US airlines take prevention and control measures seriouslyB.With countries around the world implementing pandemic prevention and control measuresC.which is why there are rewards and suspensions for the airlines depending on whether any infections are detected among their passengers.D.when it was clear that China had largely controlled the spread of the virus in the countryE.it should be borne in mind that it was the US administrationF.It will benefit China and AmericaG.the world is starting to emerge from its enforced suspended animation.Passage 4钟南山分享抗疫经验W: How you managed to expand facilities? We saw lots of coverage of the new hospitals.I was i 1 in the other end of this infection that how to increase2 (医疗的)care for people who are unwell but not very sick. And I believed you have used sports facilities and how was that worked? We have something to learn 3 that.M: Well, I suppose that was a method to 4 (分离)the infected people and the healthy people. That’s the main r 5 . At that time in Wuhan they just mixed. It was actually totally lost control because quite a lot of number of the medical staff got infected. That’s a big problem. At that time all the infected people just stay at home that they infected their family. So the 6 (首要的)priority is to separate, to distinguish the infected people. So that’s where tho se huge number of patients can go. So we just set up some simple hospitals or wards and asked them to stay there to isolate them from the healthy people. That’s the main reason.W: OK. I’ll just try to understand w7 they had to be there and not at home was because they would just infect many more family members at home.M: Yes, that’s right. Definitely yes.W: OK. Because I think there were a lot of question marks 8 the beginning when Wuhan was shut down was that this was the good thing to do but it seems clear that ithad a very significant impact. Is that how everyone feels?M: Oh, yes, yes. I think that was definitely a good procedure the government have been taken. The expert committee announced there was human-to-human transmission. And also lots of the medical staff got i 9 . That’s a very serious situation. I think on the 23rd (of January) the very strong action the so called early quarantine by themselves was taken in the whole country. It’s very im portant. 10 (隔离)is a really important step. So the incidence of disease seems declining very fast. I suppose the other country should be doing something like that.W: They have it in Italy. I think it may be d 11 in big cities in Europe to achieve anything like was achieved in China. I don’t know how possible that would be, but at least we have the information to show us.M: I suppose ... I think that’s the only way because we don’t have a targeted medication available for this kind of virus. So probably that’s t he oldest way and the most 12 (高效的)to prevent it from further spreading.重点短语:manage to do sth 设法做成(困难的事)coverage n [U] 提供的数量;覆盖范围medical care 医疗护理unwell adj 染病;不适very sick 病得很重separate … and … 把……和……分开infected adj 感染病菌的lose control 失(去)控(制)medical staff 医务人员/ 医护人员first priority 头等大事set up 建起ward n [C] 病房;病室isolate … from … 使……与……隔离question mark 问号shut down 关闭It is / seems clear that … ……很明显。

Working in groups of four or five, the little chefs take their responsibilities very seriously.Soon, they are showing off their own delicious dishes.Since last September, the school has set up afterschool classes forstudents, with cooking classes being the most popular, said Xinhua. It es afterthe “double reduction” policy (政策). The policy aims to ease the burdens(减轻负担) of too much homework and offcampus tutoring (课外辅导) for primary and junior high school students. The policy lists requirements in areas such as reducing the amount and difficulty of homework assignments (家庭作业), as well as improving the quality (质量) of education and afterschool services. For example, homework for junior high school students should take no longer than 90 minutes to finish. It allows students more free time to pursue (追求) their hobbies and interests. Also, offcampus tutoring has been further regulated (管理) to reduce the burden on students.“Our homework is clearly less than before,” said 13yearold Shen Yuzhe from Beijing. “We are not encouragedto buy workbooks anymore. The exercises are mainly from the textbook.” According to Shen, teachers have taught at a much slower pace (速度), which gives students enough time to process new information. In December, the Ministry of Education (MOE) reported on the progress made through the policy so far. Almost all primary and middle schools now offer twohour afterschool services on weekdays. More than 90 percent of students can finish their written homework in the set time. About 92.7 percent of schools have opened afterschool arts and sports classes. More than 80 percent of academic tutoring institutions (学科类校外培训机构) have closed down or turned to other fields of business.“With homework done at school, my child and I can read books and listen to music together in the evening, or we can go out to play badminton or skip rope,” said Lu Di, the parent of a fifthgrader in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang.1. They wanted the caps, which had QR codes printed inside. With each code standing for a vote (票), fans were able to vote for contestants (选手) in the show. This behavior is typical in fan quan, or “fan clubs”, which are organized groups of loyal (忠诚的) fans who share information about their idols. They voluntarily spend time and money to make their idols as popular as possible.According to China Daily, the rise of fan quan has played a key role in driving the entertainment industry (娱乐产业), but its social impacts (影响) have caused worries. For example, these people wasted a lot of milk. Moreover, some fans spread rumors (谣言) about other celebrities (名人). Different groups of fans sometimes also have online arguments. These misbehaviors will no longer be allowed. In June, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC, 国家网信办) started a twomonth nationwide campaign (行动) called “Clear and Bright” to clean up the online environment, especially fan clubs.Since then, many social platforms (平台) have started dealing with such misbehaviors. Douban, a movie review website, said its major focus is to stop those who lure (引诱) youngsters to raise money to support idols. Sina Weibo silenced (禁言) 100 accounts (账号) and removed (删除) 3,770 posts after an online “fight” between fans of two celebrities on Aug 23.In fan clubs, minors (未成年人) have played an important role. According to the China Internet Network Information Center, there were 183 million Chinese internet users under the age of 18 as of July 2021. Among them, about 8 percent are fans of celebrities, and most are middle school students. These youngsters lack (缺乏) social experience and are easily misled. The negative (负面的) fan culture isbad for forming healthy social behavior among teenagers, said China Daily. “Schools and parents need to provide more care for youngsters to help them support idols rationally (理智地),” Zheng Ning, an expert from munication University of China.New rulesOn Aug 27, 2021, the Cyberspace Administration of China made a notice covering 10 new requirements, aiming to stop irrational fan culture. Here are some of the requirements.Inte rnet platforms must remove fans’ improper (不合适的) posts in a timely manner. Otherwise, they will face punishment (惩罚).Online accounts of celebrities and their panies need to prevent fans from taking part in arguments, defamation (诽谤), or the dissemination (散播) of other harmful content (内容) on the internet.Luring fans to spend money on certain products is banned (禁止). Fans trying to raise money for their idols is also not allowed.More importantly, minors are banned from taking leading roles in online groups and activities or using money to support stars.1. 中华文化-2024年中考英语新热点时文阅读

2024年中考英语新热点时文阅读-中华文化01(2023春·河北石家庄·八年级统考期末)During the 2016 Rio Olympics, people were surprised to see the round, purple marks on the body of the famous American swimmer Michael Phelps. What happened to him? In fact, he just visited a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and had “cupping” (拔火罐).Massage (按摩) and acupuncture (针灸) are two other important kinds of TCM. Chinese massage can make you relaxed and fresh. In acupuncture, doctors put long needles (针) into the patients’ heads, faces, arms... It takes away pain, though the look is funny.TCM is an important part of Chinese culture. The earliest medical classic in China, Huangdi’s Classic on Medicine (黄帝内经) came out more than 2,000 years ago. The book is about the relationship between man and nature. Maybe the image of Shaolin monks(和尚)posing with a serious look in their eyes. But does it really present the meaning of kung fu?Laurence J. Brahm, a documentary filmmaker from the United States, explored this question in Searching forKung Fu. In the movie, Brahm traveled to cities in China and the US in search of the value of kung fu.Brahm himself is a kung fu lover who has been practicing the art for more than 40 years. For him, it is more than a pastime. Ages ago, Brahm was unable to use one of his legs for two years and had to walk with a cane(拐杖). But by practicing martial arts (武术), he was able to recover step by step. Now, kung fu has become a daily activity for him and also the way he begins the day.Still, there are other deep meanings in the practice. Nonviolence is one value, which is shown both in the name and practice of kung fu. The Chinese character Wu has two parts—ge, meaning “to fight”, and zhi, meaning “to stop”. So, the meaning of kung fu in Chinese is the art of stopping fighting, the art of nonviolence. Kung fu artists always greet people with baoquan. 一、阅读理解(原创)Most of us spend all day at school or work. After a long and busy day, all we want to do is return to a comfortable home. Smart technology can turn any home into a nicer place to live.Smart homes have been around for some time. Scottish company Pico Electronics invented a type of technology called X10 in 1975. It allows household devices (家用设备), such as lights and alarms, to communicate with each other by using radio waves (无线电波), according to AVSytemsMag, a specialized magazine in the audiovisual (AV, 视听的) and automation industry.Of course, 5G network connectivity has made smart homes much more sophisticated (复杂的) than X10. Perhaps the most widespread smart home technology is the voice-activated assistant (语音激活助手). Google Home and Amazon’s Alexa allow users to interact with nearly any device in their home simply by speaking a few words. This isespecially convenient for children and people with physical disabilities, as they can finish tasks that would normally be too difficult, according to How-To Geek.Common household appliances (家用电器) can become “smart” as well. For example, a smart trash bin can keep track of the things you’ve thrown away and place an online order for new item s, while smart refrigerators can create dinner recipes (菜谱) based on the vegetables that are being kept inside, according to HowStuffWorks. But it’s not just about convenience. Smart homes are also good for the environment. By regularly checking your energy use and automatically (自动地) turning off lights and other devices that you’re not using, smart homes can lower how much electricity you use overall. Using less energy means that we use fewer natural resources, which is good for the environment.1. The sharing economy (共享经济), working in open offices, living in crowded apartments and the food industry’s use of reusable products have made the perfect storm for a pandemic (大流行).Although the sharing economy might be good –it’s cheaper to rent than to own – sharing spaces and objects are great ways to spread the virus. How does one do “social distancing (和他人保持安全距离)” when they are expected to share cars, bikes, apartments and even the same offices? The trend (趋势) of using open offices, which can save space, is working against us. In this type of office, workers don’t have their own desk – everything is shared. Sometimes, computers and chairs are also shared, which is not hygienic (卫生的). Fortunately, more workers are working from home during the pandemic, b ut that won’t last forever.Reusability (循环利用) is a common practice in the restaurant industry. Reusable cups and chopsticks are often used. Unfortunately, reusable products increase the chance of spreading disease. For example, Starbucks recently stopped refilling (重新装满) customers’ reusable cups in order to stop the spread of the virus.People like to be social. But the virus has made this more dangerous. We have to be careful about how we interact (交往) with others for now. Perhaps we need to rethink about our lifestyles to reduce the spread of future pandemics.1. According to the author, the strong point of the sharing economy is that_____.A. it lasts longerB. it costs lessC. it’s popularD. it’s hygienic2. Paragraph 3 is mainly about _____.A. how working at home won’t last longB. how shared offices can save spaceC. the hygienic problems of open officesD. the sharing economy trend3. According to the author, restaurants can spread the virus easily because _____.A. everything is shared in many restaurantsB. they use too much disposable tablewareC. many restaurants have poor hygieneD. cups and chopsticks are often reused4. The author probably agrees that _____.A. we need to change some of our lifestylesB. the sharing economy won’t last foreverC. no one can stay out of the sharing economyD. we shouldn’t stay away from shared products六、语法填空(原创)阅读下面短文,根据文章大意用所给单词的适当形式填空(未提供单词的.限填一词),使文章意思完整.正确.5G will make medical care more handy. All around the world, people struggle to get quality (优质的) healthcare. It means ____3_____(care) for patients from far away when the provider and patient are not in the same location. One form of this is video conferencing (视频会议) with a doctor in real time, similar _____4___ a WeChat video call. While this d oesn’t sound that impressive, with 5G, healthcare systems could handle a large number of these HD video conferences and allow different systems to automatically (自动地) book appointments and deal with prescriptions (处方). It will also give older people or those living in the countryside an easier way ___5_____(see) a doctor.Another part of telemedicine is remote monitoring (远程监控). Using wearable (可穿戴的) tech, hospitals could monitor patients from ____6____(they)own homes and send data to hospitals in real-time using 5G. This will enable hospitals to give more specific treatment without hospitalization, as well as cut hospital costs. There are also many other exciting applications for 5G tech in medicine. One of them is remote surgery (远程手术). In March, Chi na’s first 5G-based brain surgery _____7_____(complete) by a doctor in Sanya, Hainan, ____8____ operated on a Parkinson’s patient in Beijing. In August, China Daily reported _____9____ robots in Beijing performed three orthopedic (整形外科的) surgeries in Xinjiang, Tianjin and Zhangjiakou at the same time.In the short term, changes to healthcare might not be that dramatic (巨大的). But here are some things that scientists say are most likely to happen in 10 to 30 years from now, according to the BBC.Digital moneyWe need to pay with cash for everything we bought. Now when we use a credit card to shop online, money is spent without us seeing it. That means we are already using digital money. Using a card is much easier than searching our pockets for change. It is also safer than carrying a lot of cash. When ATM cards were first introduced, they were not accepted everywhere. But now it’s hard to live without them. It’s reported that people in Sweden completely stopped using cash last year, and the US might be next.Bionic (仿生的) eyeIt’s no longer something only in a science fiction movie. People who are blind may have a chanceto get their sight back-by wearing bionic eyes.A blind eye can no longer sense light, but a bionic eye can use a camera to “see” the environmentand send data to the mind. Now the bionic eye only allows patients to see lights and unclear shapes. A high resolution (高清的) image could be just a few years away.Self-driving carsUnlike a human driver, a self-driving car won’tget distracted (分神) by a phone call, the radio or something outside the window. Sensors (探测器) and cameras on the car would allow it to stick strictlyto the rules of the road and keep a safe distance from other cars. This would greatly reduce the number of road accidents. You could even take a nap while the car drives itself. In the future, driverless cars would be widely accepted.6. What does the writer mainly tellus about digital money?A. Which of the following can be predicted (预测) from the passage?A. There would be a number of self-driving cars on the road.B. The blind could use cameras to see things around.C. We would live a hard life with digital money.D. Robots would control the world.03China has completed its BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (北斗卫星导航系统),or BDS.It becomes a new system in the world with a global navigation network (全球导航网络). The other three systems are GPS of the US, GLONASS of Russia and Galileo of the European Union. As the name suggests, the global navigation satellite system provides navigation and location services 24 hours a day. As we know, building a good satellite system costs a lot. Besides, the other systems have been setup. Why does China have a new one if there is nothing special? The other three systems have 24 satellites. China’s BDS has six more satellites. What’sspecial about these six satellites is that they have a relatively fixed area of activity. This can improve BDS ’ accuracy (精准度) in China and the Asia-Pacific region to 5 meters, compared with a 10-meter accuracy in other areas.BDS has another advantage-the short message service. It allows users to have a two-way communication. In areas that are not covered by communication signals (信号), users can send short messages. Even in uninhabited areas, such as deserts, forests, mountainous and polar areas, BDS can also make the short message service available. With this service, users who are in danger can tell the rescue team (救援队) their location and condition. As the most populous country, it’s important for China to have its own global navigation satellite system to meet the needs of the country’s development. In fact, BDS is also good business. According to the official report, China’s satellite industry has kept a 20% yearly growth since 2012. And BDS contributes about 80% of it. In addition, BDS has also created countless high-paying jobs. And with continuous improvement, it will have much more to offer in the future.10. The drone was built by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC, 中国航空工业集团有限公司)Drones have been used for quite a few years now. There are different ways of increasing the flying time. However, all these methods become less useful compared with the unlimited (无限的) power provided by the Sun. That’s why researchers have been working to make solar-powered drones that can not only stay in the air for longer but also perform more tasks while in the sky.In 2018, China tested the first version (版本) of Morning Star, which was 91 feet wide. Made from a special kind of plastic, the drone was so light, weighing only 41 pounds. Compared with it, the Morning Star 50 is much larger and has a wingspan (翼展) of 164 feet.On September 3, Morning Star 50 took off from an airport in Yulin City in the Shaanxi province in northwest China and landed back 26 minutes later after a smooth flight. Staff told some local reporters that all flight systems worked normally. This is a good start for future flights of the solar-powered drone that could last for many days or even months at a time.In the US, Airbus has been testing the Zephyr solar-powered drones for the past few years. Its latest version, the Zephyr S, came close to breaking the record for the longest flight. It stayed in the air for 64 days. To tell the importance of drones.06Type in “A cat wants to go to space” and ask ChatGPT to write a bedtime story. Just one second later, you’ll get the story of Max, who clawed his way past many difficulties to sing among the stars.Developed by US company OpenAI, ChatGPThas taken the internet by storm, winning 100 million users since it came out in November 2022. People can ask the robot to write stories and emails, createrecipes (食谱), translate languages, and answer all kinds of questions. In its own words, it is “a language model trained in internet text to help users get human-like text.”Compared with Siri or other chatbots (聊天机器人), ChatGPT uses a much bigger database (数据库) for training. It also uses stronger software and hardware to learn things by itself. For example, if it provides a wrong answer to your question, you can tell it the right one and it will make corrections . “It’s a totally different product,” computer scientist Liu Xiaoguang from Nankai University told Tianjin Daily. “The knowledge level ChatGPT shows is equal to an undergraduate (本科生) student. That’s why it shocked the world.”But one big problem with ChatGPT is that it makes mistakes or even gives fake ( 虚假的) information. When Rezza, a 28-year-old from Indonesia, used the robot to write an essay, it “gave out nonexistent academic citations (不存在的学术引用)”, he told The Guardian. Since the robot is trained using words from the internet, it can also pickup on the internet’s biases (偏见) about certain groups. These are all things that need to be dealt with.23. 英语时事阅读第11期Passage 1:Science never stopsAfter working from home for the last few months, most people have adapted to their new work situation. But what if your job was to control a multi-billion-dollar space rover (探测车) located on a planet nearly 200 million km away from Earth?A team of NASA scientists is doing just that. In order to follow social distancing rules, these scientists have had to work from home. But they’ve still found ways to work together and take care of the complex (复杂的) tasks that are needed to keep the Curiosity rover working on Mars.Their work-from-home setups (装配), as seen in photos provided to CNBC and Science Alert, look much like typical home office setups. They use ordinary computers. But instead of working on spreadsheets (电子制表), these scientists are programming complex sequences (序列) of instructions that are then sent to the rover. These instructions allowed the rover to find a rock sample (样本) in a location on Mars called “Edinburgh”, according to Earth Sky.Usually, the team’s 20 scientists work together by communicating through apps or video meetings. One scientist might have to follow 15 message channels (通道) at once.NASA gave the scientists headsets (耳机), monitors (监视器) and otherequipment to allow them to do their jobs from home. However, the 3D goggles (眼镜) they usually use to analyze pictures from Mars could not be sent out. So they have to rely on simple red-and-blue glass lenses (镜片) instead. But setbacks like these have not been a problem for the scientists. In fact, adapting to changing situations and improvising (临时做) is “classic, textbook NASA,” according to the head of science operations Carrie Bridge. “We’re presented with a problem and we figure out how to make things work. Mars isn’t standing still for us; we’re still exploring,” she said.1:During the outbreak, NASA scientists _____.A. use different computers to workB. work on spreadsheetsC. don’t need to follow social distancing rulesD. are operating Curiosity from home2:Working at home is inconvenient for NASA scientists because _____.A. they have to use special red-and-blue lensesB. they cannot communicate person to personC. they don’t have the equipment to do their jobsD. they cannot work together at the same time3:How do we understand “classic, textbook NASA” in the last paragraph?A. NASA wrote a textbook on how to deal with problems.B. NASA always finds ways to deal with new situations.C. Setbacks are common for NASA.D. Setbacks have never been a problem for NASA.4:What is the story mainly about?A. NASA’s project on Mars.B. The problems NASA faces.C. How NASA analyzes pictures from Mars.D. How NASA scientists work at home.参考答案:DABDPassage 2:95后中国青年联合国发言分享战“疫”故事1 the evening of April 15, the Office of the Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children's Fund jointly held a seminar on joint response to COVID-19.Wang Xiukun, a 2 student from Wuhan University of central China's Hubei province, the former epicenter of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), introduced China's anti-epidemic 3 and achievements to young people from all over the world, sharing her own stories of being a 4 during a recent United Nations (UN) seminar.the epidemic, Wang, together with other students from the Youth V olunteer Association of Wuhan University, 5 up with the families of more than 600 front-line medical staff in Wuhan to 6 online tutoring and psychological counseling for young people aged 5- 18.Wang’s life was enriched after she 7 herself to volunteer work. "I was too busy to feel anxious." Wang summarized China's experience during the epidemic prevention and control and shared keywords with other young people at the seminar: first, "confidence", which 8 that the predicament is temporary, as long as we firmly believe that the epidemic will pass, we can remain calm and strong; second, "cooperation", which means that no one is an isolated island, and the 9 to overcoming the epidemic lies in unity among people and cooperation 10 countries.参考答案:On graduate experience volunteer pairedProvide devoted means key betweenPassage 3:Refresh your body clockWhat’s the date today? What d ay of the week is it? These were previously considered simple questions, but they may now have you scratching (挠) your head during this time of quarantine. Psychologists explain why we seem to lose track of (忘记) time during self-isolation amid the COVID-19 outbreak.According to Steve Joordens, a psychology professor at the University of Toronto, Canada, people get a sense of time by following certain routines. In terms of days, for example, you get up at 6 am, start class at 8 am and at 5 pm you go home. In terms of weeks, on Monday nights you have a study group, on Tuesdays you have dinner with friends and Fridays are movie nights with your parents. These routines are like an “anchor (锚)”, as Joordens put it. “They tell us where we are within a given day –you know if it’s lunchtime, but also within the given week –you know if it’s Thursday or Friday, since they feel very different than a Monday or T uesday does,” he told CTV News. Now that these routines are gone, every day starts to “feel” the same.Isolation also disrupts (打乱) people’s circadian rhythm (生理节律) –the body’s internal biological clock. According to HuffPost, people spend more time staring at a screen during quarantine – working on a laptop, watching TV or playing video games. The blue light e mitted by these electronic devices can upset people’s sleep cycles, making them feel out of sync (错位的). “And with much of our time spent indoors, we are limiting our exposure (暴露) to natural light, which is an important external factor in resetting our cir cadian rhythm,” Zainab Delawalla, a clinical psychologist in Atlanta, US, told HuffPost.Emotions can also affect how people perceive (感知) time, according to Rehman Abdulrehman, director of Clinic Psychology Manitoba in Canada. Just like how time seems to pass quickly when we are happy, negative emotions –like distress –can have the opposite effect.“It sounds beautiful to not have to go to work, no t [have to] interact with people, have nothing that you have to do. But in fact, it’s not good for us mentally,” explained Joordens. “It really leaves us feeling very adrift (茫然的).”Maybe we have taken our old routines for granted, and only during this chaotic time have we come to appreciate these anchors that keep us from being set adrift.参考答案:1. time 2. routines 3. anchor 4. gone 5. screen 6. upset 7. biological 8. exposure 9. Negative 10. quicklyPassage 4:pursuing heavenly truthFifty years ago, China successfully launched its first satellite, Dongfanghong 1, and started a new chapter in space exploration. To mark its 50th anniversary, the China National Space Administration announced the name for the country’s Mars planetary exploration program on April 24.The mission, Tianwen, or Quest for Heavenly Truth, got its name from a long poem Tianwen written by Qu Yuan, a famous poet of the Warring States Period (475-221 BC). In the poem, Qu raised a series of questions concerning the sky, stars, natural phenomena, myths and the real world, reflecting his doubts on traditional ideas and his pursuit of truth.China has been making remarkable progress in space exploration. As early as 1970, China launched its first man-made Earth satellite, becoming the fifth country in the world to launch man-made satellites independently. Over the past few years, China’s missions, including the Shenzhou and Chang’e series were designed to explore outer space, expanded mankind’s understanding of Earth and the universe. This time, the Tianwen series will carry out the first Mars exploration mission in 2020. Expe rts consider it the start of China’s exploration of Mars, representing a milestone for China’s move toward deep space.“Tianwen represents Chinese people’s relentless pursuit of truth, the country’s cultural inheritance to explore nature and the universe, as well as the unending explorations in science and technology,” Ge Xiaochun, chief engineer of the National Space Administration, told China Daily.Indeed, with the name’s deep roots in Chinese traditional culture, it has been widely accepted among the public. Tianwen demonstrates the determination and perseverance of Chinese people to move further into deep space.1:When did China launched its first satellite?2:What did the name“Tianwen”come from?3:China is the fifteenth country in the world to launch man-made satellites ?4: What does “Tianwen”stand for?参考答案:1:in 19702:it‘s from a long poem Tianwen written by Qu Yuan3:No,it isn't4:it represents Chinese people’s relentless pursuit of truth, the country’s cultural inheritance to explore nature and the universe, as well as the unending explorations in science and technologyPassage 5:AI can bring us inspirationA special copyright (版权) case has recently drawn attention because it is related to (和......有关的) artificial intelligence (AI). A court (法庭) in Shenzhen ruled that a news report written by Tencent’s AI enjoys copyright protection. A website broke the law because it used the article without permission (允许).This is the first case in China that has provided copyright protection to work done by AI. But what does it indicate (表明)? Will AI take the place of creative workers in the future?Probably not. AI is not yet able to write creative stories. The news report mentioned (提到) above is mainly about data. Since AI is good at processing (处理) data, it is often used to write financial (金融的) reports. Some newspapers also use AI to report on stories about natural disasters (灾害), which mainly require (需要) basic facts such as “where” and “when”. As Forbes wrote, instead of losing their jobs, journalists can make their work more efficient (高效的) by using AI so that they can focus more on storytelling and less on numbers.AI is actually being helpful in many creative fields. For example, Wayne McGregor, a British choreographer (编舞), is famous for using AI to create new dances. For him, AI is a powerful tool that can help choreographers break out of common movements (动作). McGregor is not worried that AI might replace human artists. “AI can’t judge (判断) the quality (质量) of the choreography,” he said.“It’s time to stop worrying about if AI can be creative,” according to Forbes.Instead, we should focus on how humans and AI can work together in ways that we have never dreamed of before. What else can AI do?Create music: AI can learn different music styles by analyzing (分析) audio data (声音数据). It uses this data to create music ranging from pop to jazz and more.Help with translating: AI can be trained with past text to find trends and translate articles and poems.Create film trailers (预告片): AI can create original film trailers by automatically selecting scenes (场景) and suggesting music.Recreate paintings: AI can learn different styles of painting, such as Impressionism (印象派), and then recreate paintings in the same style.Design websites: AI makes web design faster by creating starting points and giving suggestions.Create new recipes (食谱): AI can suggest inventive recipes after users enter ingredient (食材) choices.1:According to the copyright case related to AI, we know that _____.A. AI can also break the lawB. news stories cannot be written by AIC. articles written by AI also have copyright protectionD. AI can copy others’ articles without permission2:Which kind of stories might AI be good at writing?A. Sci-fi stories.B. Disaster reports.C. Horror stories.D. Poems.3:Wayne McGregor agrees that _____.A. AI helps him do creative workB. AI can create new dances by itselfC. AI might replace human artistsD. AI can teach people how to dance4:Which of the following might be the author’s view?A. Many jobs will disappear due to AI.B. We should make laws for AI.C.AI is difficult to use.D.
