2020版高考英语总复习Module1SmallTalk高考题型分组训练外研版选修6
Module 1 Small Talk高考题型分组训练阅读理解板块训练——重细节,练速度(限时:35分钟)Ⅰ.阅读理解A(2018·安徽合肥第二次质量检测)Theaters of the PastThe Ancient Greek TheaterTheaters developed in many parts of Greece. Ancient Greek theaters were built in natural open air sites on conveniently shaped hills. This allowed a great mass of people to enjoy a show at a time. Due to this, actors placed emphasis on exaggerated(夸张的) action and speech. And, colorful symbolic masks and costumes were used. The Medieval TheaterThe Medieval theater started in churches. That's why medieval plays were about Bible stories. At first, it became a custom for priests(牧师) to act out brief scenes during Christmas and Easter. These acts attracted large crowds. Finally the church refused to allow priests to participate in any such events again, so ordinary people began these performances outside. Performances were set in the town square, with several stage settings around it.The Elizabethan TheaterThe England's theaters developed rapidly in the years following the defeat of the Spanish Navy. The dominant feature of Elizabethan theaters was the stage. It has three parts: The fore stage for outside scenes; the inner stage for scenes inside a building; an upper stage or balcony for various purposes. The reason for this design is that there were no scene changes, or breaks during the play. Very little scenery was used, so the actors had to create a scene through their voices and dialogues. This led to a more poetic script, and poets became the main source of script writing. The Restoration TheaterSome of the plays told sad stories, but the majority of the plays were really funny. Many specialized machines were used to create the scene. The stage was a very clever idea, in that on the sides of the stage large back shutters(百叶窗) were painted with the scene.语篇解读:本文介绍了古代四个时期的剧院的不同特点。

Before you start a discussion, however, make sure you understand which topics are suitable and which are considered taboos(禁忌) in a particular culture. Latin Americans enjoy sharing information about their local history, art, and customs. They expect questions about their family and are sure to show pictures of their children. You may feel free to ask similar questions of your Latin American friends. The French think of conversation as an art form, and they enjoy the value of lively discussions as well as disagreements. For them, arguments can be interesting —and they can cover pretty much or any topic —as long as they occur in a respectful and intelligent(智慧的) manner. In the United States, business people like to discuss a wide range of topics, including opinions about work, family, hobbies, and politics. In Japan, China, and Korea, however, people are much more private. They do not share much about their thoughts, feelings, or emotions because they feel that doing so might take away from the harmonious(和谐的) business relationship they’re trying to build.Middle Easterners are also private about their personal lives and family matters. It is considered rude, for example, to ask a businessman from Saudi Arabia about his wife or children. As a general rule, it’s best not to talk about politics or religion() with your business friends. This can get you into trouble, even in the United States, where people hold different views. In addition, discussing one’s salary is usually considered unsuitable. 入舵市安恙阳光实验学校Module 1 Small Talk (建议用时:45分钟)Ⅰ.阅读理解A(2020·锦州高三模拟)It took multiple weddings forChristine Law to realize what she needed to do. In thesummer of 2014, her schedule was packed with friends’ marriage celebrations—flowerfilled occasions that got her thinking, “Where do all the flowers go after the party?” More often than not, they were thrown away. Law was confident she could find a better use for them.By August, she had a plan:convince couples and companies hosting events to donate their flowers, which she would pick up and deliver within 48 hours to seniors across the city. She wanted to bring beauty into the lives of the elderly. She drew on her experience through being a volunteer in nonprofit institutions in order to set up her own organization, which she called Floranthropie. Not having enough bouquets(花束) for all 150 people of a health center, Law asked the staff to provide a list of patients who needed cheering up most, “The first woman I approached thought it was a mistake, and that the flowers couldn’t possibly be for her,” says Law. “I said they were a gift, and we talked for a half hour.”In addition to health centers, Floranthropie focuses on community groups devoted to the elderly. Laëtitia Thélème is a volunteer for Les Petits Fières, an organization that aims to help the elderly who don’t have a support system. The group receives a dozen or so bouquets from Floranthropie monthly, and then redistributes them. “Our motto is ‘flowers before bread’,” says Thélème. “We don’t focus on primary care, but rather on nourishing(滋养) the spirit. Floranthropie helps us do that. It’s amazing what a big difference a small bouquet can make.”In the beginning, most of Floranthropie’s donations came through word of mouth. These days, Law receives messages from strangers via her organization’s Facebook page and has connected with corporations and flower wholesalers. Law hopes to expand Floranthropie nationally, but at this point is happy to be able to oversee each delivery personally.【解题导语】本文讲述了Christine Law把婚礼上用过的花送给老人们,为他们的生活增加美的享受,她的做法得到了很多人的支持。

Ⅱ.七选五(2018云南昆明调研)How to Say No RespectfullyLike most people, your natural instinct is probably to help others when you can.1. Whether you’re declining an invitation to a party or turning down a new project at work, you can say no while still being respectful. Whatever the situation is, be clear, polite and firm when saying no.Express your thanks.2. If you have to turn someone down, express your thanks that they thought of you in the first place. You could say something like,“Thanks for considering me responsible enough to watch your kids. I’m sorry thatI’m busy that evening.”Think before you speak. If you say no immediately, it might seem like you didn’t even consider the request. In order to be respectful, take a moment to think about your answer—even if you already know what it is going to be.3.Give a clear answer. Saying no respectfully shows that you’re honest and direct.4. If you can’t help, say so. If someone is asking you on a date and you don’t want to go,make that clear.5. You can say no without completely turning down the request. By setting boundaries, you can make it clear exactly what you can do and what you are willing to do. For example, you could say,“I’m not free for dinner, but I would be coming for a quick drink after work.”A.Find a way to compromise.B.Take a pause, and then kindly say no.C.But sometimes, you just need to say no.D.It’s strange to feel guilty for turning someone down.E.Make it clear that you sincerely appreciate being asked.F.If you feel it necessary, you can also provide a reason for your answer.G.Do not give people false hope that you will be able to satisfy their request. 答案:1-5 CEBGAⅢ.完形填空(2018石家庄第二中学高三仿真模拟) When Mrs.Green told her pupils to draw a picture of something for which they were thankful, she thought how little these children in a(an) 1 neighborhood, had to be 2 for. Most of the 3 would draw pictures of turkeys (火鸡) or of Thanksgiving tables full of everything 4 to eat. That was what they believed was5 them. What made Mrs.Green 6 was David’s picture.David was so disappointed and likely to be 7 close in his shadow as they went outside for breaks.David’s drawing was 8 this:A hand, whose hand?
