The Camellia Woman" is a classic story about love and freedom, depicting the love entanglement between the protagonist Margaret and Armand, as well as her pursuit of freedom. This story isthought-provoking, what is the relationship between love and freedom? From the love story between Margaret and Armand, it can be seen that they are filled with sadnessand helplessness. Armand fell in love with Margaret, but their social status and economic conditions hindered their possibility of being together. Although Margaret also deeply loved Armand, she ultimately chose to get engaged to a wealthy man in order to continue living a luxurious life. The constraints of this reality made their love pale and powerless, ultimately ending in tragedy. However, Margaret's longing for freedom is vividly portrayed throughout the story. She yearns to live without any restrictions, pursuing her own happiness and joy. When her engagement with a wealthy businessman was in crisis, she resolutely chose to leave him and rediscover her true happiness. This persistence and pursuit of freedom have made her a brave and independent female figure, moving people.Through the story of "The Camellia Woman", we realize the complex relationship between love and freedom. Love is certainly important, but if it becomes a shackle that binds freedom, it is no longer worth pursuing. Freedom is the eternal pursuit of humanity, which allows us to truly feel the meaning and happiness of life. Therefore, when facing love and freedom of choice, we should be like Margaret, bravely pursuing our true inner needs, persisting in the pursuit of freedom, and not being influencedby external temptations and interference. In short, the relationship between love and freedom in "The Camellia Woman" is an eternal theme that inspires people to ponder and comprehend. Love and freedom are not contradictory, but complementary to each other. Only by pursuing love while not forgetting our commitment to freedom, can we have true happiness and joy.

These women at the mercy of fate, we have a bizarre desire and strange love. We for one thing and one thing to another in order to fully. I am committed to you are faster than any man, I can swear to you, is this why? Because you see I was holding my hand when I haemoptysis, because you cry, because there is only you truly want to sympathize with me然而我又看到了一些互相矛盾的现象,我还经常听说玛格丽特的爱情就像商品一样,价格随着季节不同而涨落。

The lady of the Camellias(茶花女英文读后感)

The lady of the CamelliasThe Lady of the Camellias by Alexandre Dumas, is the story of Marguerite Gautier. She is a prostitute or a kept woman lived in Paris in the mid 1800's. She is famous and talented, living an extravagant and dissipated prostitute life. When we talked about The lady of the Camellias, first we might think is “the tragic prostitute”, what we thought about her was just feel pity on her tragic outcome and hate the feudalism’s apathy and ruthless. A young courtesan, or kept woman, in Paris in the mid 1800’s, She got lost herself in the emptiness, and how she falls in love with a young man, Aermang Duval, after then she tries to escape from her questionable past. Unfortunately, it comes back to haunt her and she ends up returning to that life and dies painfully and alone. But in fact, when we go further to the narrative, what we thought about the lady Marguerite is not only the sympathy or the more it should be admiration or appreciation. She got lost in a luxury and dissipation life, but she was still sure what exactly she was pursuing and was keeping her own principles, without any consideration to pursue her true love once she met up with it. Her saucy attitude was a front to cover the lonely woman that she really was. She strongly resist the reality of the society, but still gave up temporary happiness herself at last due to her kind of forbearance, sacrifice herself to achieve others’ aim. Therefore, she worth us to lay aside these worldly prejudices to recognize and appreciate. So to figure out Camellie, we can mainly talk about in the following aspects: her lost, rigid and forbearance. It seems that beautiful women always have tragic endings. In my view, the lovers should believe each other, only did so can they get on well with each other and have a good future. When they face some difficult problems, they can solve them together. A bit more trust, a less suspicion, if they did this, the love tragedy would not happen.。

茶花女英文书评

茶花女英文书评

《茶花女》英文书评 -----La Dame aux CameliasThe author of this book, Alexandre Dumas fils was the illegitimate son of Dumas pere, who is a giant of the literary world. He himself was also a famous novelist and dramatist in the 19th century. When I first knew this situation, I was surprised that the father and the son could both make so many contributions in the same circles. This reminded me of the “Three Su” in Song Dynasty, three poets whose names were SuXun, SuShi and SuZhe. Their relationships are similar to Dumas because they all have great achievements in history of literature. The heroine in the novel is Mademoiselle Marguerite Gautier, who is one of the most celebrated courtesans in social circles in Pairs. Even if she lives in the luxurious house and spends money like water, she put up with thetrauma of mental and physical at the same time. Eventually she suffered from a serious illness. Owing to the lack of love and solicitude, she felt spiritually barren and lonely. I think this foreshadowed her tragedy in life. At first, I didn’t pay attention to her attitude towards life, but as I got further into the novel, I realized that she felt used, abused and unloved in the upper class until the gentle Armand Duval came into her life and told her that he loved her wholehearted and not for what she could do for him. It needs great courage for her to abandon the life she had enjoyed for so long. Eventually, she sold out her jewelry to pay for the cost of living, and then lived happily and calmly with Armand in the countryside.I think it showed that Marguerite really loved Armand Duval for she could even change everything and persist herself in the world full of money. In my heart, she is really a beautiful girl who has pure soul like white camellia. However, happiness didn’t last for long. When M. Duval, Armand's father, came to her and pleaded for her to leave Armand to save both Armand's reputation and his younger innocent sister, she felt that it was her duty because her status influenced Armand's family. In order for the benefits of Armand and his family, Marguerite determined to make sacrifices. It meant giving up her own happiness and hurting Armand temporarily. She reluctantly returned to her former life, knowing that someday Armand would forgive her. Sadly, she died in debt and basically alone, except for her one female friend, Julie Duprat, who helped her during her illness. Ultimately, she couldn’t see her lover for the last time. Before she was dying, all the creditors came to her house with IOU and forced her to pay the debts. They have no mercy on the poor girl, only want to get benefits from her even when she was dying. I tasted people’s greed and unfeelingness. Some other characters that connected with Marguerite had their own purpose. I think Marguerite was right in saying that no one truly cared about her, the only person who is concerned about her is Armand. Others only wanted something from her. For example, the Comte de G. and Comte de N. simply care about her body and appearance. T he Duke needed to “wake up and smell the coffee” and realize that she could never replace his dead daughter. If he truly cared, he would have helped her change her lifestyle. And lastly, Prudence was a bloodsucker who used Marguerite till the last time. I also think she was jealous of Marguerite that she had so much more courage than herself and someone truly loved her.I think the sources of the Camellia’s tragic fate are her kind-hearted character, her persistence with love and courage to life. Her tragedy also reveals the corruption and darkness in society.Camille is just like the camellia, she could never escape from the tragic destiny. But it wasn’t her fault; it’s because of the evil of capitalism and the darkness of that society. She is small and weak when faced with the whole society, and is difficult to shake off fetters of conventional views. But her seek for love, desire to freedom and strong belief in life encouraged me a lot. Camellia is the classical image in the literature circles of the world. She has filthy profession and beautiful soul, lowly status and firm character. Her final result gave me endless regret and sentimentalismThose pretty women are like those beautiful flowers, their delicate beauty makes people feel they are scenery of life. However, even the God envies their beauty. It seems that beautiful women always have tragic endings. As we are normal persons, even we can see the darkness of humanity that results in their fate of withering, we can at most ask quietly in our hearts: Where have thosebeautiful flowers gone? The story is set in Paris during the mid 1800's.
The lead heroine is Marguerite Gautier, a young beautiful courtesan who is a "kept woman" by counts and dukes -- men of "Fashionable Society". She meets a young middle class lover Armand Duval who does the unpardonable thing of falling jealously in love with her and breaking all convention of what's expected between a courtesan and her admirers. He, of course, has no way of sustaining the standard of living which she is accustomed to.
In her fragile physical state (Marguerite has tuberculosis which ) she moves to the country. There in her new house, a confrontation between the jealous Armand and her rich admirers and "benefactors" takes place. For the first time she sticks up for her lover -- making a life choice -- and they are left indignantly and alone.
Armand becomes depressed, his career seems doomed by the intolerance of French society, and knowing he will never be able to support Marguerite to the level she deserves. Unbeknownst to Armand, his father comes to plead for her to leave Armand to save both his son's reputation and that of his younger innocent sister -- whom is also tainted by the scandal. To prove her love, she agrees and leaves Armand. She returns to Paris where she despairingly throws herself back into her old lifestyle. Armand can't believe she's left and searches for her -- finally finding her in Paris in the arms of a new lover.
Time passes.
The two accidentally meet again in public. Marguerite is now in the company of a another beautiful courtesan and Armand begins "paying court" not with her but with her friend trying to strike back at Marguerite out of his own sense of hurt. Deathly ill, Marguerite visits Armand one last time to plead that he stop humiliating her, and they make love again -- both unable to deny the passion for each other. But Marguerite is haunted by guilt that she can only harm Armand and remembering her promise to his father -- she abandons him yet again as he sleeps.
Armand is incensed when he wakes. Finding Marguerite at a grand ball with all society around, he approaches her and hands her an envelope stuffed full of money –"Here! Payment for your services.” She collapses as he walks out.
Abandoned by all her friends from the humiliation of Armand act, exposed
publicly for what she really is, she dies penniless, painfully and alone -- cast off by all the men that used her.。
