Today I have to tell you about the big important test I just took. It was an English exam for the Environmental Engineering program at the super famous Beijing University of Technology. I'm only in 5th grade, but I really want to study Environmental Engineering when I grow up because I care a lot about protecting the planet and all the plants and animals.My mom said I should practice taking this test because it would be good experience for me, even though I'm still just a kid.I wasn't too nervous though, because English is one of my best subjects and I'm already really interested in environmental issues.The first part of the test was reading comprehension. I had to read a few passages about things like air pollution, water scarcity, climate change, and deforestation. The passages used some pretty big words I didn't know, like "anthropogenic" and"mitigation strategies." But I could figure out the main ideas based on context clues.After reading each passage, I had to answer multiple choice questions testing how well I understood the key details and concepts. Those weren't too bad. Then there were someopen-ended questions where I had to write a few sentences explaining my thoughts on the topics. That part was kind of hard because I had to organize my ideas clearly in complete English sentences with good grammar.The next section was all about vocabulary. First, I had to fill in blanks to complete sentences and paragraphs with vocabulary words related to the environment and sustainability. Words like "emissions," "renewable," "biodiversity," and "ecological footprint." I've learned a lot of those from watching nature documentaries with my parents.Then I had to match vocabulary words with their definitions. That was a little trickier because some of the words had multiple meanings that were really similar. Like the difference between "pollutant" and "contaminant." Overall though, I think I did pretty well with vocabulary since it's one of my strengths.After vocabulary was the grammar section. Ugh, grammar! Why does English have so many little grammar rules to memorize? My native language is so much simpler!There was also a writing task where I had to write a persuasive essay about an environmental issue that's important to me. I chose to write about single-use plastics and why we need to reduce plastic waste. I made sure to have a clear thesis statement, use lots of specific examples and evidence, and organize my argument into paragraphs with good transition sentences. Writing has always been one of my favorite parts of English because I get to express my own thoughts and be creative.The very last part was about interpreting data and information. I had to analyze some graphs and charts about things like greenhouse gas levels, renewable energy production in different countries, and endangered species populations. The questions asked me to describe trends, make inferences, and draw conclusions. I feel like I struggled a bit on those because math has never been my strongest area.Phew, that's everything I can remember about the test! He did practice exams, attended tutoring sessions, and wrote sample essays that his professors would critique. ⾃1991年以来,北京地区成⼈⾼等教育英语三级统⼀考试已经连续举⾏了13次。
为使这⼀考试更加规范,也使⼴⼤考⽣能够熟悉英语三级考试的内容、题型、难度及记分办法,特制定本⼤纲。
成⼈英语三级统⼀考试的⽬的是为了检测本地区成⼈教育系列中⾮外语专业的英语教学⽔平,保证成⼈本科毕业⽣学⼠学位的授予质量。
成⼈英语教学的⽬的是培养学⽣具有较强的阅读能⼒,⼀定的英汉互译能⼒和初步的听⼒能⼒,使他们能以英语为⼯具,获取专业所需要的信息,并为进⼀步提⾼英语⽔平打下较好的基础。
为此,本考试主要考核学⽣运⽤语⾔的能⼒,重点是考核学⽣的阅读能⼒以及对语法结构和词语⽤法的熟练程度。
本考试是⼀种标准化考试。
由于尚不具备⼝试条件,⽬前暂只进⾏笔试。
考试范围主要参照全⽇制⽂理科本科英语教学⼤纲所规定的⼀⾄三级除说的技能以外的⼤部分内容。
在题型设计上,除英汉互译部分是主观性试题外,其余试题均采⽤客观性的多项选择题形式。
待将来条件成熟时,再酌情增加听⼒及短⽂写作的内容。
本考试每年举⾏两次,分别在4⽉和11⽉,每次考试时间为两⼩时,即上午9:00到11:00。
本考试由北京市教委⾼教处负责,考务⼯作由北京教育综合服务中⼼具体实施。
考试内容:本考试内容包括五个部分:分别是阅读理解、词语⽤法与语法结构、挑错、完形填空和英汉互译。
全部题⽬按顺序统⼀编号,共85题。
第⼀部分:阅读理解(Part I Reading Comprehension),共15题,考试时间40分钟。
要求考⽣阅读三篇短⽂,总阅读量不超过900个词。
每篇⽂章后有五个问题,考⽣应根据⽂章内容从每题四个选择项中选出⼀个答案。
短⽂选材的原则是: 1、题材⼴泛。
包括⼈物传记、社会、⽂化、⽇常知识、热门话题及科普常识等。

英语考试包括阅读理解、英译汉、汉译英、写作四部分。
阅读理解为客观试题,其它为主观试题。
全部试题满分为100分,60分为及格。
考试要求

2012年招收攻读博士学位研究生简章
北京工业大学创建于1960年,是一所以工科为主,理、工、经、管、文、法、艺术相结合的多科性研究教学型大学,是国家“211工程”建设的重点大学。
1985年成为博士学位授予单位,2011年建成研究生院。
学校设18个一级学科博士点,31个一级学科硕士点,15个博士后流动站。
拥有1个一级国家重点学科、2个二级国家重点学科、34个北京市重点学科。
学校有博士导师247人,硕士导师876人,其中院士13人、“长江学者”特聘教授4人、“国家杰出青年基金”获得者6人,“国家级教学名师奖”获得者3人。
现有国家级教学团队6个、教育部“长江学者和创新团队发展计划”创新团队1个、北京市学术创新团队44个。
2011年我校有3篇博士学位论文评为全国优秀博士学位论文,1篇博士学位论文评为全国优秀博士学位论文提名奖。

一、招生规模
2012年我校拟定招收博士研究生约260名。
二、培养目标
培养德、智、体全面发展,在本门学科上掌握坚实宽广的基础理论和系统深入的专门知识,具独立从事科学研究工作的能力,在科学或专门技术上做出创造性成果的高素质、高层次学术型人才。
三、学习年限
学制为4年,学习年限3-5年。
四、报考条件
2012年参加公开招考的考生应具备的条件为:
1.中华人民共和国公民。
2.拥护中国共产党的领导,愿为社会主义现代化建设服务,品德良好,遵纪
守法。
3.考生的学历必须符合下列条件之一:
(1)已获得国家承认的硕士学位的人员;
(2)国家承认的应届硕士毕业生(最迟须在入学前取得硕士学位);
(3)同等学力报考条件:本科毕业并获学士学位8年以上、具有高级技术职称、在所从事的领域有突出业绩。
在报考学科、专业或相近研究领域的全国核心期刊上发表两篇以上学术论文(以第一或第二作者),或已获得省、部级以上与报考学科相关的科研成果奖励(排名前五名),并经所报导师审查,具备博士培养条
件,学院同意。
特别说明:①同等学力考生报考前,必须将上述证明的复印件邮寄或送交我校研招办进行资格认定,经批准后方可进行正式的网上报名,同等学力须加试政治理论课和两门本专业硕士学位主干课程(同等学力硕士学位主干课程加试科目于复试前通知)。
②我校部分专业或方向对同等学力考生报考条件除上述要求外,提出特殊要求,其具体要求均已在招生专业目录备注栏内注明,请注意查阅。
4.报考国家计划内博士生的年龄不超过45周岁(1967年8月31日以后出生
者),报考委托培养和自筹经费的考生年龄不限。
5.身体健康状况符合国家规定的体检要求。
6.有两名与报考学科相关的副教授(或相当职称)以上的专家书面推荐。
7.现役军人考生,按中国人民解放军总政治部的规定办理。
五、报名
报名时间:2011年11月1日至2011年12月31日。
报名方式:全部采取网上报名的形式,报名网址:/报名要求:考生完成网上报名后,应尽快(最晚应于2012年1月10日前)将报名材料和报名费(200元)送交至研究生院综合事务室(第二教学楼316)或邮汇至我校研究生招生办公室,邮编100124。
报名费也可采取直接网上支付。
对未支付报名费或逾期未收到报名材料的考生,均视为无效报名。
报名费一旦交纳,则不再办理退款手续。
考生必须返回的报名材料如下:
1.《北京工业大学报考攻读博士学位研究生登记表》(该表请考生于北京工业大学博士研究生报名系统自行填写后下载打印,报考类别为委托培养的考生,必须经培养单位同意并盖章);
2.硕士毕业证书、硕士学位证书复印件(应届毕业硕士生提交所在单位研究生院(处)的应届生证明信复印件);
3.硕士课程学习成绩单原件或复印件(需在复印件上加盖原件保存单位的公章);
4.硕士学位论文的中英文摘要和目录及论文评议书(应届硕士毕业生提供硕士论文开题报告及评议书)复印件;
5.身份证复印件;
6.两位在职的与所报考学科相关的副教授(或相当职称)以上职称专家的推荐书(该推荐书请考生于北京工业大学博士研究生报名系统自行下载);
7.同等学力考生附报考学院同意报考函、学士学位证书复印件、高级专业技术职务资格证书复印件、在报考学科、专业或相近研究领域的全国核心期刊上发表的两篇以上的学术论文(以第一或第二作者)复印件,或已获得省、部级以上与报考学科相关的科研成果奖励(排名在前五名)的证书复印件。
六、资格审核
所有考生须在2012年3月2日携带本人有效身份证件(军人须带军官证或身份证)、硕士学位证书原件;同等学力者须按报考条件的要求,携带相关材料原件;外校应届硕士毕业生持研究生院(处)的证明原件和本人的硕士研究生学生证;本校的应届硕士毕业生还需持研究生证进行资格审核。
凡境外单位获得学位、学历的考生,须持有教育部留学服务中心的认证书。
我校在审查考生资格时,发现伪造证件情况时,将扣留伪造证件;发现可疑学历证书时,要求考生在规定
时间内提供指定机构出具的认证证明。
对符合报考条件的考生发放准考证。
对弄虚作假者,不论何时,一经查实,即按有关规定取消报考资格、录取资格、入学资格或学籍。
七、考试
1.初试
(1) 初试采用笔试的方式,考试科目详见2012年北京工业大学博士招生专业目录;
(2) 考试时间:2012年3月3~4日;
(3) 考试地点:北京工业大学校内,具体考试地点另行通知。
2.复试
(1) 根据初试结果,择优确定复试候选人;
(2) 复试为笔试和口试相结合的方式,外语口语和听力的考核在复试时进行;
(3) 复试时间:2012年3月下旬;
(4) 复试地点:北京工业大学校内,具体考试地点另行通知。
八、体检
体检在复试期间进行,具体时间另行通知,体检医院为北京工业大学校医院(参加体检的考生,须携带本人一寸免冠照片一张)。
体检标准参照教育部、卫生部、中国残联修订的《普通高等学校招生体检工作指导意见》。
九、录取
录取原则:①根据初试与复试的成绩,综合素质审核结果、体检等情况,德、智、体全面衡量,择优录取,宁缺毋滥;②复试不及格考生不予录取;③考试诚信状况将作为考生思想品德考核的重要内容和录取的重要依据,对于思想品德考核不合格者我校将不予录取。
录取类别:分为非定向、委托培养和自筹经费。
招收委托培养博士生实行合同制。
我校将在考生录取前,与用人单位、拟录取为委托培养的考生之间分别签订培养协议。
①非定向:户口和档案均转入北京工业大学,培养费由国家负担,毕业时采取毕业研究生与用人单位“双向选择”的方式,落实就业去向。
②委托培养:户口和档案均不转入北京工业大学,培养费由委托单位负担,毕业后回委托单位工作;
③自筹经费:户口和档案均转入北京工业大学,2012年自筹经费博士生的培养费由我校承担,毕业时采取毕业研究生与用人单位“双向选择”的方式,落实就业去向。
对于自筹经费的博士生须在录取前由本人签订相应的自筹经费培养博士生知情书。
十、其他说明
1.入学时间:2012年9月。
2.原录取类别为委托或定向培养的应届硕士生须开具培养单位同意报考的
证明,否则不予报考。
3.招生专业目录说明:
①导师姓名后标有“★”的为中国科学院或中国工程院院士,标有“●”的为我校兼职博士生导师。
②博士入学考试科目共计3门(外语+两门业务课),外语考试科目代码首位为1,业务课一考试科目代码首位为2,业务课二考试科目代码首位为3。
若所列科目可选择,考生必须在3个单元考试科目中(外语、业务
课一、业务课二)各选择1门。
4.录取为非定向类别博士生享受国家助学金1000元/月,同时导师和学校资
助500元/月。
部分院(所)还为博士生额外制定了相应的物质奖励政策。
5.若此招生简章与国家教育部将要公布的博士招生相关政策有冲突,将以教育部公布的博士招生相关政策为准。
