the Butterflyby Hans Christian Andersen(1861)theRE was once a butterfly who wished for abride, and,as may be supposed,he wanted tochoose a very pretty one from among the flo wers.He glanced, with a very critical eye,at all theflower-beds,and found that the flowers wereseated quietly and demurely on their stalks, just asmaidens should sit before they are engaged;butthere was a GREat number of them, and itappeared as if his search woul d become very wearisome. The butterfly did not like to take toomuch trouble,so he flew off on a visit to the daisies. The French c all this flower“Marguerite,”and they say that the little daisy ca n prophesy.Lovers pluck off the leaves, and as they pluckeach leaf ,they ask a question about their lovers;thus:“Does he or she love me?—Ardently?Distractedly?Very much?A little? Not at all?”and so on.Every one speaksthese words in his own language. The butter fly came also to Marguerite to inquire, but hedid not pluck off he r leaves;he pressed a kiss on each of them, for he thought ther e wasalways more to be done by kindness.“Darling Marguerite daisy,”he said to her,“you are the wisest woman of all the flowers.Pray tell me which of the flowers I shall choose for my wife.Which will be my bride? When Iknow,I will fly directly to her,and propose.”But Marguerite did not answer him;she was offended that he should call her a womanwhen she was only a girl;and there is a GREat difference. He asked her a second time, andthen a third;but she remained dumb, and answered not a word. Then he would wait nolonger, but flew away,to commence his wooing at once.It was in the early spring, whenthe crocus and the snowdrop were in full bloom.“they are very pretty,”thought the butterfly;“charming little lasses;but they arerather formal.”then,as the young lads often do,he looked out for the elder gi rls.He next flew to theanemones;these were rather sour to his ta ste.The violet,a little too sentimental. The lime-blossoms,too s mall, and besides, there was such a large family of them. The app le-blossoms,though they looked like roses, bloomed to-day,but mig ht fall off to-morrow,with the first wind that blew;and he thought that a marriage with one of them might last tooshort a time. The pea-blossom pleased hi m most of all;she was white and red, graceful andslender, and b elonged to those domestic maidens who have a pretty appearance, and canyet be useful in the kitchen. He was just about to make her a n offer, when, close by themaiden,he saw a pod, with a withere d flower hanging at the end.“Who is that?”he asked.“That is my sister,”replied the pea-blossom.“Oh,indeed;and you will be like her some day,”said he;and he flew away directly, forhe felt quite shocked.A honeysuckle hung forth from the hedge,in full bloom;but there were so many girlslike her, with long faces and sallow complexions .No;he did not like her.But which one did helike?Spring went by,and summer drew towards its close;autumn came;b ut he had notdecided.the flowers now appeared in their most gorgeous robes, but all in vain;they hadnot the fresh, fragrant air of youth. For the heart asks for fragrance, even when it is nolonger young;and there is very little of that to be found in the dahl ias or the drychrysanthemums;therefore the butterfly turned to the mint on the ground. You know, thisplant has no blossom;but it is sweetness all over,—full of fragrance from head to foot, with the scent of a flower in every leaf.“I will take her,”said the butterfly;and he made her an offer .But the mint stood silentand stiff,as she listened to him.At last she said,—“Friendship,if you please;nothing more.I am old,and you are old,but we may live foreach other just the same;as to marryin g—no;don't let us appear ridiculous at our age.”And so it happened that the butterfly got no wife at all.He had been too long choosing, which is always a bad plan. And the butterfly became what is called an old bachelor. It was late in the autumn, with rainy and cloudy weather. The cold wind blew over thebowed backs of the willows,so that they creake d again. It was not the weather for flyingabout in summer clothes;but fortunately the butterfly was not out in it.He had got a sh elterby chance. It was in a room heated by a stove, and as warm as summer. He could exist here,he said, well enough.“But it is not enough merely to exist,”said he,“I need freedom, sunshine, and a littleflower for a companion.”then he flew against the window-pane,and was seen and admired by those in the room, who caught him,and stuck him on a pin,in a box of curiosities. They could not do more forhim.一只蝴蝶想要找一个恋人。

关于butterfly的作文75字!英语

关于butterfly的作文75字!英语全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Butterflies are the Coolest!I think butterflies are just about the coolest creatures ever! They are so pretty and delicate, with their vibrant colors and paper-thin wings. It's amazing to me how such a tiny insect can be so beautiful. Whenever I see a butterfly fluttering by, I can't help but smile.Did you know that there are tons of different kinds of butterflies? Like, way more than you'd think! Some are bright orange or yellow, while others are blue, green, or even have designs that look like eyes on their wings. My favorite is the monarch butterfly with its distinct orange and black pattern. But I also really like the painted lady butterfly with its orange and brown speckled wings. So pretty!I remember learning about the life cycle of butterflies in school last year. It's so crazy how they go through a complete metamorphosis, changing from a tiny egg to a cute little caterpillar to a chrysalis and finally emerging as a beautifulwinged adult. How does that even happen? It seems like magic to me!First, the butterfly starts off as a tiny egg laid on a plant by a female butterfly. Just a teeny, tiny speck of an egg! Can you imagine? After a while, the egg hatches into a caterpillar, also called a larva. I think caterpillars are pretty neat too, even if they aren't as pretty as the butterflies. They're like funny little worm dudes munching away on leaves all day!As the caterpillar keeps eating and growing bigger, it eventually gets too big for its exoskeleton. So you know what it does? It molts and sheds that exoskeleton, revealing a new bigger one underneath! That's both gross and awesome at the same time. Some caterpillars can molt four or five times before they're full grown. Imagine shedding your skin like that - so weird!Once the caterpillar can't grow any bigger, it finds a nice spot to attach itself so it can begin its transformation into a chrysalis. A chrysalis is like a little sac that the caterpillar bundles up inside of to undergo its metamorphosis. It's kind of like a sleeping bag or cocoon. The really mind-blowing part is what happens inside the chrysalis! While tucked away in there, the body of the caterpillar basically melts away into a soupy liquid before reforming into an entirely new creature - a butterfly! How insane is that? All the materials from the caterpillar restructure themselves to build the butterfly's body, wings, legs, antennae - everything! It boggles my mind thinking about it.After a few weeks to a couple months of this incredible transformation happening in the chrysalis, out emerges a beautiful adult butterfly! At first its wings are tiny and crumpled, but it pumps fluids into them to make them unfurl and dry out. Soon it's flitting about, drinking nectar from flowers with its long straw-like tongue called a proboscis.Butterflies are so important for helping pollinate plants too. As they sip nectar from flowers, pollen gets stuck all over their bodies and legs. Then they transfer that pollen to other flowers, allowing the plants to reproduce and make seeds, fruits and more flowers. Butterflies play a big role in making sure plants can keep growing and providing food for lots of animals!I wish I could have a pet butterfly, but I know that's not really possible since they don't live very long as adults - only a few weeks to maybe a month at most. Apparently butterflies live most of their lifespan as caterpillars, just eating and storing upenergy for their short butterfly stage. Still, I would love to be able to watch one of those amazing metamorphoses up close in a little habitat. How cool would that be?Maybe after I get my own backyard someday, I can plant a butterfly garden with lots of bright flowers and plants that butterflies like. That way I can try to attract them and get to see them flitting around whenever I go outside. I'd probably be out there all day just watching them! I'd learn all their different types and be able to point out every single species -" There goes a Red Admiral, oh and look at that Swallowtail sipping nectar from the zinnias!" You'd better believe I'd be a butterfly expert.I already try to be good to the butterflies and other cool bugs that visit our garden now. I never hurt or mess with them, and make sure not to pick any flowers that look like something is living on them or laying eggs there. I have so much respect for how amazing their life cycle is and the important roles they play for plants and the environment.Butterflies are definitely at the top of my list of favorite animals. I mean, what's not to love? They start as tiny eggs before munching away as funny caterpillars, then miraculously transform into these delicate, vibrantly-colored flying flowers. So graceful and beautiful! Just watching them lazily drift frombloom to bloom or flutter rapidly skywards when startled brings me so much joy. I hope everyone can experience the wonder of butterflies sometime!篇2The Wonderful World of ButterfliesButterflies are some of the most amazing little creatures on the planet! They flit and flutter through the air with their delicate wings, making everything seem magical. I just love watching them dance from flower to flower. Did you know that there are over 20,000 different kinds of butterflies? That's a whole lot of butterflies! My favorite butterflies are the big swallowtails. They are bright yellow with black stripes and can have wingspans of up to 6 inches across! That's almost as big as my hand. The monarch butterfly is another pretty one. It has bright orange wings with black veins and white dots along the edges. Monarchs are special because they migrate really far each year, like birds! Some fly all the way from Canada and the United States down to Mexico for the winter. That's a very long trip for such a tiny insect.Butterflies don't start out looking like the beautiful creatures we see. First, they are tiny eggs laid on leaves by a femalebutterfly. The eggs hatch into caterpillars, which are kind of like ugly little worms. But caterpillars are actually really cool. They spend all their time eating and eating to grow bigger. Some caterpillars can increase their mass 27,000 times! That means if a caterpillar weighed one pound at birth, it would weigh over 13 tons as an adult. Just imagine a 13 ton caterpillar! That would be one hungry little guy. When a caterpillar is finally full-grown, it attaches itself to a twig or leaf and begins to form a chrysalis around its body. The chrysalis is like a little capsule that the caterpillar lives inside of while it undergoes an amazing transformation called metamorphosis. While inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar is rapidly changing and rearranging itself into a butterfly. Its body breaks down into a sort of butterfly soup before reforming into the beautiful winged insect we recognize. Isn't that wild? It's like a magic trick right in nature. After a few weeks to months inside the chrysalis, a beautiful butterfly emerges! At first its wings are wet and crumpled looking. The butterfly has to hang upside down and pump fluid from its body into the wings to get them stretched out. Once its wings are ready, the butterfly can take its first flight! Adult butterflies only live for a couple weeks to a month usually. In thatshort time, their main goals are to find flowers to drink nectar from and to mate to produce offspring for the next generation.Watching the whole butterfly life cycle from egg, to caterpillar, to chrysalis, to adult is so cool. If you haven't ever tried raising butterflies yourself, you totally should! It's easy to order a little cup of caterpillars and food online. Then you can make or buy a habitat for them and watch the process up close as they form their chrysalides and emerge as butterflies. Just be sure to release them outside once they've become adults so they can find flowers and continue their cycle. Isn't nature amazing?I'll never get tired of seeing those fluttering wings and bright colors visiting my backyard. Butterflies are Definitely one of the most delightful wonders of the natural world. The next time you see one, be sure to appreciate just how special and magical they really are!篇3ButterfliesButterflies are beautiful insects. They have colorful wings and they can fly. They come in many different colors, like yellow, blue, and red. Butterflies start as tiny eggs. Then, they turn into caterpillars. Caterpillars eat leaves and grow bigger. After sometime, they become a chrysalis. Inside the chrysalis, they change and transform. Finally, they come out as butterflies! Butterflies love to visit flowers and drink nectar. They help pollinate plants. We should protect butterflies and their habitats. They are important for our environment.虽然这篇作文只有75个字,但你可以根据需要适当增加内容,使其达到1000个字的要求。

小学英语英语故事(儿童故事)TheButterfly'sfindingaBride

The Butterfly's finding a BrideThere once was a butterfly flying gently. He was flying in the blue sky and was looking for his bride. 'Flower is the best bride for me!' The Butterfly thought, but there were too many flowers to choose only one."I will be able to find a beautiful flower if I fly all around the world." The Butterfly started to fly around to find the flower to be his bride. First, he found a snowdrop. "What a pretty flower she is! But she's too small."The Butterfly flew to another place. He found a saffran this time. "Oh, she is beautiful. But she's too mature."The Butterfly flew around again. "Wow, she's amazing!" He found an anemone. "But she's too passionate." The Butterfly flew away. Then he met a violet. "She is a very soft flower, but she is too tender to be my bride."Then he went to a tulip. "Hi, butterfly!" A red tulip nodded her head and greeted the butterfly. "Oh, hi!" Even though he replied to the red tulip, the Butterfly thought that the red tulip is too dazzling to be his bride."What do I have to do now? I can't find my bride." This time, he met a daffodil. "That daffodil is too pure. She is too pure and she even looks lonely." The Butterfly did not like the daffodil as his bride. The Butterfly arrived at the place filled with apple tree flowers. "Tomorrow, the apple tree flower will fade along with the wind even if she is blooming today." The apple tree flower wasn't good enough to be the butterfly's bride, either. There was a pea flower. "Wow, she is very splendid!" Pea flowers were in elegant bloom with red and white colors. The Butterfly liked the pea flower because she was neither too lonely nor too dazzling."Hi, Miss Pea flower?" Butterfly flew closer to her to ask to be his bride. Then, he caught sight of a messy flower hanging on a leaf with a withered bean chaff. He ran away in a hurry after seeing that.In this way, spring and summer passed. But the butterfly still could not find his bride. Autumn came. One day Butterfly smelled a strong scent while he was flying. There was a peppermint in the field."That's great. Even though peppermint does not have any flowers, her leaves have a very strong scent. Peppermint's leaves are the same as flowers. I will make her my bride." Butterfly flew next to the peppermint and asked, "Miss Peppermint, would you please be my bride?"Then the peppermint said, "Mr. Butterfly, it is autumn now. You and I are too old. Don't tell me about 'being your bride' any more." In the end, Butterfly could not find any bride.。

小学英语英语故事(童话故事)TheButterfly蝴蝶

⼩学英语英语故事(童话故事)TheButterfly蝴蝶The Butterfly 蝴蝶The butterfly wanted a sweetheart, and naturally he wanted one of the prettiest of the dear little flowers. He looked at each of them; there they all sat on their stalks as quiet and modest as little maidens ought to sit before they are engaged; but there were so many to choose from that it would be quite difficult to decide. So the Butterfly flew down to the Daisy, whom the French call "Marguerite." They know she can tell fortunes. This is the way it's done: the lovers pluck off the little petals one by one, asking questions about each other, "Does he love me from the heart? A little? A lot? Or loves he not at all?" - or something like that; everyone asks in his own language. So the Butterfly also came to ask, but he wouldn't bite off the leaves; instead he kissed each one in turn, thinking that kindness is the best policy. "Sweet Miss Marguerite Daisy," he said, "you're the wisest woman of all the flowers - you can tell fortunes! Tell me, should I choose this one or that one? Which one am I to have? When you have told me, I can fly straight to her and propose."But Marguerite answered not a word. She resented his calling her "a woman," for she was unmarried and quite young. He put his question a second time, and then a third time, and when he still get a word out of her he gave up and flew away to begin his wooing. It was early spring; the snowdrops and crocuses were growing in abundance. "They're really very charming," said the Butterfly. "Neat little schoolgirls, but a bit too sweet." For, like all very young men, he preferred older girls. So he flew to the anemones, but they were a bit too bitter for his taste. The violets were a little too sentimental, the tulips much too gay. The lilies too middle class, the linden blossoms too small, and, besides, there were too many in their family. He admitted the apple blossoms looked like roses, but if they opened one day and the wind blew they fell to pieces the very next; surely such a marriage would be far too brief. He liked the sweet pea best of all; she was red and white, dainty and delicate, and belonged to that class of domestic girl who is pretty yet useful in the kitchen. He was about to propose to her when he noticed a pea pod hanging near by, with a withered flower clinging to it. "Who's that?" he asked."It's my sister," said the pea flower."Oh, so that's how you'll look later on!" This frightened the Butterfly, and away he flew.Honeysuckles hung over the hedges; there were plenty of those girls, long-faced and with yellow complexions. No, he didn't like that kind at all. Yes, but what did he like? You ask him!Spring passed and summer passed; then autumn came, and he was still no nearer making up his mind. Now the flowers wore beautiful, colorful dresses, but what good did that do? The fresh, fragrant youth had passed, and it is fragrance the heart needs as one grows older; and of course dahlias and hollysocks have no particular fragrance. So the Butterfly went to see the mint."It's not exactly a flower - or rather it's all flower, fragrant from root to top, with sweet scent in every leaf. Yes, she's the one I want!" So at last he proposed to her.But the mint stood stiff and silent, and at last said, "Friendship, if you like, but nothing else. I'm old, and you're old, too. It would be all right to live for each other, but marriage - no! Don't let's make fools of ourselves in our old age!" And so the Butterfly did not find a sweetheart at all. He had hesitated too long, and one shouldn't do that! The Butterfly became an old bachelor, as we call it. Now it was a windy and wet late autumn; the wind blew cold down the backs of the poor trembling old willows. And that made them creak all over. When the weather is like that it isn't pleasant to fly about in summer clothing, outside. But the Butterfly was not flying out-of-doors; he had happened to fly into a room where there was a fire in the stove and the air was as warm as summer. Here he could at least keep alive. "But just to keep alive isn't enough," he said. "To live you must have sunshine and freedom and a little flower to love!"And he flew against the windowpane, was noticed by people, admired, and set on a needle to be stored in a butterfly collection. This was the most they could do for him."Now I'm sitting on a stalk, just like the flowers," said the Butterfly. "It isn't very much fun; it's just like being married, you're bound up so tightly!" He comforted himself with this reflection."A poor consolation, after all," said the pot plants in the room."But you can't take the opinion of pot plants," thought the Butterfly. "They converse too much with human beings!"。

英语安徒生童话故事:The Butterfly蝴蝶

英语安徒生童话故事:The Butterfly蝴蝶

英语安徒生童话故事:The Butterfly蝴蝶THERE was once a butterfly who wished for a bride, and,as may be supposed, he wanted to choose a very pretty onefrom among the flowers. He glanced, with a very critical eye, atall the flower-beds.He found that the flowers were seated quietly anddemurely on their stalks, just as maidens should sit before they are engaged; but there was a great number of them, andit appeared as if his search would become verywearisome. The butterfly did not like to take too much trouble, so he flewoff on a visit to the daisies. The French call this flower "Marguerite," and they say that the little daisy can prophesy. Lovers pluck off the leaves, and as they pluck each leaf, they ask a question about their lovers; thus: "Does he orshe love me?- Ardently? Distractedly? Very much? A little? Not at all?" and so on. Every one speaks these words inhisown language. The butterfly came also to Marguerite to inquire, but he did not pluck off her leaves; he pressed akiss on each of them, for he thought there was always more to be done by kindness."Darling Marguerite daisy," he said to her, "you are the wisest woman of all the flowers. Pray tell me which of the flowers I shall choose for my wife. Which will be my bride? When I know, I will fly directly to her, and propose."But Marguerite did not answer him; she was offended thathe should call her a woman when she was only a girl; andthere is a great difference. He asked her a second time, and then a third; but she remained dumb, and answered not a word. Then he would wait no longer, but flew away, to commence his wooing at once. It was in the early spring, when the crocus and the snowdrop were in full bloom."They are very pretty," thought the butterfly; "charming little lasses; but they are rather formal."Then, as the young lads often do, he looked out for the elder girls. He next flew to the anemones; these were rather sour to his taste. The violet, a little too sentimental. The lime-blossoms, too small, and besides, there was such a large family of them. The apple-blossoms, though they looked like roses, bloomed to-day, but might fall off to-morrow, with the first wind that blew; and he thought that a marriage with one of them might last too short a time. The pea-blossom pleased him most of all; she was white and red, graceful and slender, and belonged to those domestic maidens who have a pretty appearance, and can yet be useful in the kitchen. He was just about to make her an offer, when, close by the maiden, he saw a pod, with a withered flower hanging at the end."Who is that?" he asked."That is my sister," replied the pea-blossom."Oh, indeed; and you will be like her some day," said he; and he flew away directly, for he felt quite shocked.A honeysuckle hung forth from the hedge, in full bloom; but there were so many girls like her, with long faces and sallow complexions. No; he did not like her. But which one did he like?Spring went by, and summer drew towards its close; autumn came; but he had not decided. The flowers now appeared in their most gorgeous robes, but all in vain; they had not the fresh, fragrant air of youth. For the heart asks for fragrance, even when it is no longer young; and there isvery little of that to be found in the dahlias or the dry chrysanthemums; therefore the butterfly turned to the mint on the ground. You know, this plant has no blossom; but it is sweetness all over,- full of fragrance from head to foot, with the scent of a flower in every leaf."I will take her," said the butterfly; and he made her an offer. But the mint stood silent and stiff, as she listened to him. At last she said,-"Friendship, if you please; nothing more. I am old, and you are old, but we may live for each other just the same; as to marrying- no; don't let us appear ridiculous at our age."And so it happened that the butterfly got no wife at all. He had been too long choosing, which is always a bad plan. And the butterfly became what is called an old bachelor. It was late in the autumn, with rainy and cloudy weather. The cold wind blew over the bowed backs of the willows, so that they creaked again. It was not the weather for flying about in summer clothes; but fortunately the butterfly was not out in it. He had got a shelter by chance. It was in a room heated by a stove, and as warm as summer. He could exist here, he said, well enough."But it is not enough merely to exist," said he, "I need freedom, sunshine, and a little flower for a companion."Then he flew against the window-pane, and was seen and admired by those in the room, who caught him, and stuck him on a pin, in a box of curiosities. They could not do more for him."Now I am perched on a stalk, like the flowers," said the butterfly. "It is not very pleasant, certainly; I should imagine it is something like being married; for here I am stuck fast." And with this thought he consoled himself a little."That seems very poor consolation," said one of the plants in the room, that grew in a pot."Ah," thought the butterfly, "one can't very well trust these plants in pots; they have too much to do with mankind."蝴蝶一只蝴蝶想要找一个恋人。

捉蝴蝶的猫的英语作文

捉蝴蝶的猫的英语作文

Cats are known for their curiosity and agility, and one of their favorite pastimes is chasing after small, fluttering creatures like butterflies. Heres a short essay in American English about a cat catching butterflies:In the warm embrace of a summer afternoon, the sun cast its golden rays upon the lush green garden. Among the vibrant flowers and the gentle rustle of leaves, a small, curious feline was on the prowl. This was Whiskers, a sleek and energetic cat with a penchant for adventure.Whiskers had a fascination with the delicate creatures that danced in the air around her. Butterflies, with their vibrant wings and graceful movements, were the epitome of elegance to her keen eyes. She would often watch them from a distance, mesmerized by the way they flitted from flower to flower, sipping nectar and basking in the sun.One particular day, as the garden was alive with the colors of a thousand different blooms, a butterfly with wings of iridescent blue caught Whiskers attention. It was unlike any she had seen before, and her heart quickened with excitement. She crouched low, her eyes never leaving the butterfly as it danced through the air. With a sudden burst of energy, Whiskers sprang into action. Her paws moved silently over the soft grass, her body a fluid motion as she closed the distance between herself and the butterfly. The garden became a canvas of motion, with the cat and the butterfly engaged in a delicate ballet. The butterfly, sensing the presence of the cat, fluttered higher, trying to evade the inevitable. But Whiskers was relentless, her focus unwavering. She leaped, her claws outstretched, aiming for the fluttering prize. Time seemed to slow as the cat and butterfly became a single point of focus in the gardens tranquil scene. In a moment of pure feline grace, Whiskers paw connected with the butterfly, gently cupping it within her soft fur. She looked down at her catch, her eyes wide with wonder. The butterfly, unharmed, beat its wings against the confines of Whiskers paw, a testament to the cats gentle touch. After a moment of contemplation, Whiskers released the butterfly, watching as it soared back into the sky, free once more. She understood that sometimes, the joy of the chase was more rewarding than the capture itself. With a contented purr, she settled down in the warm grass, her eyes drifting closed as the sun continued its descent, painting the skywith hues of orange and pink.Whiskers encounter with the butterfly was a reminder of the simple joys that can be found in nature, and the delicate balance between predator and prey. It was a moment of connection, a fleeting dance between two creatures, forever etched in the memories of a garden that bore witness to their silent symphony.。
