A:Heres the draft contract,Mr. Smith. Lets discuss the clauses to see if we agree on all of them. Then Ill make out an original of the contract. After that, whats left is to fill out the contract and sign our names.
A:史密斯先生,这是我们的合同草案。

B: Thats OK.

A:The contract is to be written in Chinese and English. Both languages are equally effective.

B:Fine. If youll excuse me, Id like to go over it first. (After
about 15 minutes) Hmm, youve done a pretty good job. Its well prepared.

B: Well, I suggest that we discuss only the clauses and points where we have different opinions, just to save time.

A : These goods can be broken very easily, so we would be thankful if you would be sure to use durable packing materials.

B:That will be no problem. We never use any kind of inferior packaging. Your goods will be safe.

B:We always do that, but I will make a point to check it for you since it is so important.

A : Can you effect shipment during September?

B:l dont think we can make it.

A:Then when at the earliest can we expect the shipment?

B : By the middle of October.
B:到十月中旬。
A:Its too late. You see, in our market October is the season for the kind of commodity. So the goods must be shipped before October or we wont be ready for the season.
A:那太迟了。
你知道,十月份是这类商品的销售旺季。
因此,货物必须在十月份之前装运,否则,就无法赶上销售旺季。
B : Well,considering our long standing good business relationship, well try hard to negotiate with our manufacturers for an earlier delivery.

A:Thanks. Then may I suggest that you put down in the contract "shipment on September 15 or earlier"?
