很显然这是按照原文的结构顺序来翻译的，读起来很苦涩。
对于A as well as B 句型的重点在A，而不在B，因
此，应该先说B，再说A，已达到用B衬托出A的效果。
例如：“He can speak Spanish as well as English．”的译文应该是：“他不但会说英语，而且会讲西班牙语”，决不能译作：“他不但会说西班牙语，而且会讲英语”。
2、人称：
网上的译文对于书的称谓是：“它”，我想既然全文都是在在说以书为伴，把书当做朋友，不妨用指代人的“她”更能突出对书的热爱和尊重。
3、文采：
翻译即写作，翻译就是再创作，翻译的文采也是所有精美译文中必不可少的。
对于第二段的最后一句话：“amusing and instructing us in youth, and comforting and consoling us in age.”网上是这样翻译的：“在我们年轻时，好书陶冶我们的性情，增长我们的知识；到我们年老时，它又给我们以慰藉和勉励”。
