Therefore, in specific communication situations, people usually avoid using the language which will cause both sides to disrupt the relationship between the two sides, and take a tortuous way to the table.In the theory of conversational meaning, the American philosopher H. P. Grice argues that verbal communication has the desire to cooperate with each other and achieve the success of communication.Therefore, in order to make the communication smoothly and successfully, the two sides of the communication should jointly follow some principles such as truth, fullness, association and clarity, which are the principles of cooperation. These principles consist of four criteria: quantitative criteria, qualitative criteria, relations norms and guidelines. In other words, the speaker’s words should contain the information which is needed for the purpose of the conversation. That is to say, the speaker’s words should not exceed the information needed or show the meaning that the self is false or lack of sufficient evidenceEuphemisms, as a linguistic phenomenon, should also be influenced by the Grace Conversation Criteria. 笔者认为,《采茶舞》或说《采茶扑蝶舞》都是摘采茶叶这一农事活动的艺术再现,舞蹈中带有扑打蝴蝶的动作更能够体现茶农摘采的惬意和对茶叶丰产的喜悦。
徽州民间采茶舞的产生,各地地方志都没有清楚的记载,然而,在调研中,茶农的都说从老一辈开始,每年开采时节或者采摘闲时,茶农都要跳采茶舞,主要的动作多为模仿摘采茶叶的动作。
问起何意之时,茶农的解释为祈盼当年茶叶丰收,也为采摘之间休息娱乐之用。
调研中还发现,祁门的采茶舞多为边唱边跳,故而,在祁门农村《采茶舞》也称《采茶歌》。
说为演唱其实是口语化的吟诵,以当地方言为主。
贝林特指出:对于与歌唱结合在一起的舞蹈———这是最早、最普遍的参与性艺术———来说,社会性表现得更深刻,它深深得嵌入了每一种人类文化之中。

委婉语是人类社会中普遍存在的一种语言现象，是人们语言交际的“润滑剂”。
它不仅是一种社会语言现象，更是一种文化现象。
通过委婉语，人们可以了解不同民族的语言、思想以及文化。
委婉语在各个领域都有广泛的应用，对于我们学好英语，进行有效的跨文化交际有很大的帮助。
美国电影《阿甘正传》中使用大量委婉语来表现出人们内心的焦虑、害怕、虚伪、羞怯等，由此体现出不同民族的文化、习俗及价值观。
［关键词］ 《阿甘正传》；委婉语；文化《阿甘正传》（ Forrest Gump ），是一部根据美国作家温斯顿•格鲁姆的同名小说改编的美国电影。
在1995年度第67届奥斯卡金像奖角逐中，该片最终获得最佳影片、最佳导演、最佳男主角、最佳改编剧本、最佳剪辑、最佳特技效果六项大奖,获得了巨大的成功。
时至今日，当我们再次回味这部电影的时候，依然能感受到它对人们心灵的震撼和冲击。
电影《阿甘正传》取得如此成功的因素之一是其语言的设计和使用。
“与一般语言不同，电影语言是一种直接诉诸观众的视听感官，以直观的、具体的、鲜明的形象传达含义的艺术语言，具有强烈的艺术感染力。
”［1］简单地说，电影语言一般是经过艺术加工的口头语言，大多是面对面地口头交际，带有明显的口语特点。
而在日常的口语表达中，委婉语有着较高的使用频率。
本文从社会语言学的视角，来分析《阿甘正传》中所使用的委婉语及其所蕴含的丰富文化。
世界上几乎每个民族的文化中都有一些令人尴尬或不愉快的话题，但是这些话题，作为语言的一部分，又不得不提到，因此产生作为这些话题的替代——委婉语。
人类使用委婉语的历史非常悠久，这一语言现象的传统性历史渊源，英语词euphemism最早来自古希腊语。
“eu”在希腊语中的意思是“well”或“sounding well”，即“好”，“听起来好”；“phone”意为“speech”，即“说话”，合起来其意思便是“说话好听”［2］。
何兆熊和梅德明在《现代语言学》中提到“语言禁忌就是指礼貌的社会禁止使用的词语或者表达方法”［3］。
文化研究是指人类价值观、习俗、信仰、道德、传统、知识、语言和行为规范的总和。
它包含人们全部的思想、言论（言语和非言语）、行为与情感。
语言作为文化的一个重要组成部分，不仅仅是人类表达思想和交流信息的工具，更是其所属文化的放映和折射。
语言与文化紧密相连，语言体现文化实体。
英国社会语言学家布拉姆（Bryram）认为：“语言是学习文化最丰富的源泉。
”通过对电影《阿甘正传》中所使用的委婉语的学习，我们不仅能掌握英语日常交际的准则，而且可以了解英语国家的文化习俗。
委婉语在电影《阿甘正传》中具体体现在以下几个方面。
一、关于“死亡”的委婉语“死亡”这一概念是人类最忌讳的，于是在人们提到“死”时，总是避免直接表达，而是采用了各种委婉的说法。
讲英语国家的人们和许多其他民族的人们一样，忌讳直接说“死”（to die）字，因此创造了很多表达“死”的意思的委婉语。
例如，人们常用“去了”（to pass away），“睡着了”（to go to sleep），“去天国”（to go to heaven）等词来代替说某人“死了”（to die），因为“死”太令人恐惧了。
如《阿甘正传》中的一个场景：Mr.Hillcock:We re a progressive school system.We don t want to see anybody left behind.Is there a…Mr.Gump,Mrs.Gump?Mrs.Gump:He s on vacation.此段对话中的He s on vacation，和中国文化一样，当面对生活中的不幸时，美国人也会使用各种委婉的方式来避讳这种不快。
如死亡的委婉语就是一种典型。
又如，当阿甘在回忆童年时的珍妮，他自言自语：Now,remember how I told you that Jenny never seemed to want to go home? Well,she lived in a house that was as old as Alabama.Her mama had gone up to heaven when she was five and daddy was some kind of a farmer.在回忆珍妮的童年时代时，阿甘不直接使用die一词来道明珍妮在5岁就已经失去了妈妈，而是用一种间接的、比较委婉的词汇go up to heaven来指代“死”。
这样也体现了阿甘对珍妮的思念、对珍妮的关怀。
又比如：Mama making a trip to heaven.（妈妈的天堂之旅。
）本句阿甘妈妈的解释是“Vacation is when you go somewhere and you don t ever come back.”可见阿甘爸爸已经离开了人世。
另外在阿甘的妈妈病重即将离开人世时，与儿子的对话中也使用了表达死亡的委婉语：Forrest：What s the matter,Momma?Mother：I m dying．Forrest，come on in，sit down over here．Forrest：Why are you dying,Momma?Mother：It s my time．It s just my time．Oh．now,don t you be afraid sweetheart．Death is just a part of life something we re all destined to do．I didn t know it．But I was destined to be your momma．I did the best I could.Forrest：You did good，Momma．这里的It s my time．It s just my time something we re all destined to do.是“死(I m dying)”的委婉说法。
英语中关于死亡的委婉语还有很多，如：“safe in the arms of Jesus（在耶稣怀里得到平安）”“be gone to the better land（到一个更好的地方去了)”“go to his long home（回到永久的家）”等。
［2］这些词语的形成和英语国家文化背景有很大联系，英语文化与基督教密不可分。
在西方国家，基督教是最有影响力的宗教，它渗透到人们生活的方方面面，成为西方文明中不可缺少的一部分。
《圣经》被视作西方文明的精髓，也是现代英语的源泉，因此，来源于宗教的死亡委婉语较为常用。
二、关于“性”的委婉语英语中“性”的委婉语由来已久，而且也与宗教有着密切的关系。
英语国家大都信奉基督教，关于“性”最早的禁忌可以追溯到《圣经》中魔鬼撒旦化身的蛇诱骗夏娃吃伊甸园中分辨善恶树上的果子开始。
亚当和夏娃因偷食禁果而被逐出伊甸园，历经了种种艰辛与磨难。
这就是基督教所说的原罪。
因此在西方传统文化中，“性”关系常使人感到愧疚和羞耻。
人们一般避免直接谈论sex(性)或与之有关的话题，即便非要谈论的时候，也会选择委婉语来替代。
如《阿甘正传》中的两段对话：Conversation One:Jenny:…Have you ever been with a girl,Forrest?Forrest:I sit next to them in my Home Economics class all the time…Oh,I m sorry.Jenny:It s ok.Forrest:I m dizzy.Jenny:I bet that never happened in Home Ec.(家政学)Conversation Two:Forrest:Jenny?Jenny:Forrest,I do love you.在以上两段对话中所使用的“Have you ever been with a girl?”及“I do love you.” 都是“make sex with” (做爱)的委婉语表达。
［4］这些表达方式折射出在美国社会，虽然随着社会的发展和人们思想的进一步解放,性话题已为人们逐渐认可和接受，但是委婉的说法仍然是人们谈论这一类话题的选择。
类似话题的委婉语也逐渐被中国人所采纳，比如中国人用“第三者”“外遇”，包括从英语中借鉴而来的“情人”等委婉语对过去所不齿的婚外性行为进行遮羞。
三、关于“军事”的委婉语古往今来，政治家、军界人士以及各种媒体为淡化人们对战争的恐惧和嫌恶，掩饰战争的残酷性，而使用军事委婉语这样一种语言形式。
如电影《阿甘正传》中的一段对白：Li Dan：I got an air strike in bound right now．They re going to nape the whole area．Gump,you stay here,Goddamn it,that s an order．Forrest：So I was in the Special Services，traveling around the country…以上这段电影对白中所说的air strike（空中打击）实际上是air mid (发动空袭）的委婉说法。
西方国家的政客们往往在军事上使用隐晦、含糊的委婉语掩盖发动侵略战争的本质。
如美国人在越南战争中，为了掩盖其暴行，把空中的狂轰滥炸说成是“logistical strikes”(后勤行动)或者“close air support”(近距离空中支持)；对越南平民的杀戮则称为“wasting the enemy”(消耗敌人)，这些军事委婉语使战争的恐怖和残酷性从字面上荡然无存，进而达到“掩盖真相”的目的。
［5］Special Services指的是特种部队，实际上，在该影片中就是侵略越南的部队。
四、结语作为文化的重要组成部分，电影是人们现实生活的反映和写照，其语言是经过提炼、浓缩的语言，因此对于英语学习者来说，学习英语，并不意味着仅仅学习语言本身，目的语所折射的文化背景也是学习目标的一部分。
通过对电影《阿甘正传》中常见委婉语的举例和分析，我们不仅可以认识到委婉语所具有的重要社会功能，而且可以通过委婉语透视不同国家与民族的生活方式、文化习俗等。
