Around me, some of my classmates work very hard, hoping to fulfill their dream. However, they don’t seem unhappy. Oppositely, they try to find fun even under the pressure of the NMET. For example, they may share the joy with others when working out a problem. Sometimes they may play a trick on his partner using the newly-learned idioms, thus refresh themselves quickly.

友谊类

There was a time when I was addicted to playing computer games, unwilling to spend time on study. I was so absorbed that I did poorly in study. Luckily, it was my friend Li Lei that noticed my problem and managed to prevent me from playing computer games. In addition, he encouraged me to take part in some outdoor activities. Eventually, I succeeded in quitting my addiction and devoted myself to study.

坚持类

Helen Keller, who was deaf and blind, managed to become one of the most successful writers in the world. As a child, she learned to spell and recognize word by word with the help of her teacher. She overcame a great many difficulties to be able to read and write barely with her fingers. It was her perseverance and insistence that enabled her to become one of the greatest women in the world.

目标类

There was a time when I got tired of study. Unable to concentrate on my study, I often blanked out when reading a book. Luckily, it was my partner who pointed out that it was mostly due to my lack of motivation and aim. She encouraged me to find a goal, such as attending a key university or performing well in the coming exam. Thanks to her, I regained my confidence and worked hard on my study.

对待失败的态度类

Once I failed in an important competition. I was so upset that I began to doubt myself. "Am I too stupid? Am I not good enough to catch up with others?" One day, I watched a movie called Forest Gump. I was moved and inspired by Gump's insistence and optimism, therefore deciding that I should move on. I began to pick up confidence and gradually, I made great progress.

耐心类

I have a similar experience. Once I waited for the bus at the stop for 30 minutes, no bus came. I couldn’t wait any longer and decided to walk to school. But no sooner had I left than the bus arrived. I thought if I had waited for one more minute, I would have caught it. If I wanted to take the next bus, I would have to wait for another 30 minutes. Only then did I realize the importance of patience. Being impatient will waste all the efforts that we have made. Patience also plays an important part in our study and work. With it we can achieve greater.

勤奋创造奇迹

This story reminds me of a similar experience of my cousin. He was nothing but a football fan. So you can imagine how angry and disappointed my uncle and aunt were every time the result of an exam came out! He had been the last in the list of the whole grade! Everybody around my cousin believed him hopeless. However, when he became a student of Senior Three, for some reason, he began to study very hard, or rather, day and night. In spite of the fact that he was quite often laughed at, he kept on studying. To everybody’s surprise, he was finally admitted into a famous university.
