With our desires satisfied, we thought we will become happier. As economic growth really make us happier and wealth really mean happiness? I’m perfectly willing to agree that the absolute level of wealth doesn’t make us happier.First,to get a sense of it, let's see paradoxes of today's society: today we eat more food, but less nutrition or even poision in it; we have bigger house, but smaller family; today we enjoy more convenience, but less time; we have learnt how to make a living, but not a life. Second,as you can see, the increase of wealth doesn't necessarily brings forth the real happiness. As a human being, we all have our basic need, food, clothes, shelter, children's education, etc,while wealth, with my personal definition, different from the basic need, is to the scale that's far beyond these needs.Some people have the insatiable appetite to money and a determination to get it by all means, even sacrifice their morals. Wealth of this kind will be won only with the cost of loss of peace , joy ,even family and lover. Third, Money is not almighty. At least, we can't buy our health, love, peace and joy with money. Among those who are busy hunting a job, the female are often discriminated against just because of their gender. The gender discrimination in job-hunting seems to be increasingly fierce and is now a global phenomenon. I’m perfectly willing to agree that the factors that contribute to gender discrimination in job-hunting as follows:first,the female is inferior to the male in physical strength, endurance, energy and so on. Especially, the female have menstrual period per month and during this period they usually feel so weak that they can't work normally,in view of the above reasons, many companies are inclined to accept the male in the recruitment of chemical industry, machinery;Second,the female bear the responsibility of giving birth and usually have maternity leave, which will bring some inconvenience to the company;Third,after giving birth, the female usually spend plenty of time and energy taking care of the family and children so that they can't focus on work. Therefore, women should choose the job which is suitable for them when hunting a job,this kind of work don't need too much strength,others the society should ensure the equal rights of women.I think that measures should be taken at once to help. We encourage exposure of any scientific misconduct. First,to substantiate a case of scientific misconduct, a legitimate due process of investigation must be followed,the investigation of an allegation of misconduct should initially be kept confidential, and be first handled by an internal committee of the institution involved. Second,If an allegation of scientific misconduct cannot be resolved at the institution level, a higher governing body, funding agencies, or professionalsocieties may also be involved when necessary, and external committees of investigation can be convened until the issue is satisfactorily resolved. Third,It is important that both the complainant and the respondent are legally protected and their identities are kept confidential during the investigation. The respondent who is alleged to have committed scientific misconduct has the responsibility to cooperate with the authorized investigators by presenting raw data and research records.we recommend that institutions or governing bodies in China set up due procedures, mechanisms and a chain of authorized standing committees/offices composed of academic experts in the field for handling scientific misconduct. This includes establishing special committees of experts at the institutional level to promptly investigate any allegations raised in good faith. We suggest set up authoritative agencies at the national level to provide policies and mechanisms for investigation of allegations of scientific misconduct.We should cultivate/nurture a tradition of open and responsible scientific debate on important scientific issues.As an important measure to prevent scientific misconduct, we suggest that universities and research institutions in China establish necessary and required courses for students and researchers on research integrity, science ethics, and understanding the due procedures in handling of scientific misconduct. This is a necessary step in the establishment of a healthy environment for research in China.We understand and appreciate the public outcry againstscientific misconduct. The public has the right to know what scientists have done with public funds, and to question whether or not the science is properly conducted. However, we would also point out that questio ns concerning scientific misconduct may be highly specialized and technical, which should normally be investigated, judged and resolved by a committee of experts, and the resolutions should be made available to public. The progress of science is dependent on integrity of researchers. It is the sincere hope of the undersigned that this open letter will prompt China to establish fair rules and official mechanisms to maintain and safeguard the integrity of scientific research in China.
