Dear Friends,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
In this golden autumn season of October, we welcome in Guangzhou the opening of the 100th Session of China Export Commodity Fair, and our guests and friends from all over the world.
At the opening and celebration ceremony of the 100th Session of Chinese Export Commodities Fair, the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao announced, on behalf of the Chinese government, that as of the 101st session, the Chinese Export Commodities Fair (also known as the "Canton Fair") will be renamed as the China Import and Export Fair, marking a new historical starting point for the Canton Fair.
For the last 5 decades the Canton Fair took serving China's foreign trade as its responsibility. Today it has become a comprehensive international trade event in China with the longest history, the largest scale, the biggest variety of exhibits, the largest number of buyers and the highest turnover, and enjoys the reputation as "China's NO.1 Fair".
The Canton Fair will be given more extensive and profound connections after being renamed as the China Import and Export Fair. The 2006 Central Economic Working Conference definitely set forth the important task of "vigorously expanding import", which clearly demonstrates the decision for a fundamental transformation in the implementation of the Chinese foreign trade strategy. Just like 50 years ago when China took a robust step forward to inaugurate the fair, Canton fair will assume new tasks and set sail for an even more brilliant destination.
Looking into the future, the Canton Fair, standing on a higher position with a wider horizon and a newer vision, will better serve the reform, opening up and the economic construction, and make further contributions to the overall goal of building a harmonious socialist society.
In the new historical scenario, as the organizer of the Canton Fair, we at the China Foreign Trade center will continues to follow the philosophy of "Specialization, Market Orientation, Legalization, Industrialization and Internationalization" so as to effectively organize the fair, to endeavor to explore the organizing methods, mode of holding exhibitions and service system to gear ourselves to the new tasks and the higher demands , ans to bring the Fair's experience in conformity with the international practice; we will effectively change our notion, make endeavors to enhance our service awareness, place excellent service as the foundation of our greater success so as to keep the Canton Fair in a new historical period in line with the new situations and the higher demands as the world first-class trade fair.

金秋十月,我们迎来了第100届中国出口商品交易会,迎来了来自五湖四海的嘉宾朋友。
在第100届中国出口商品交易会开幕式暨庆祝大会上,温家宝总理代表中国政府宣布,从第101届起,中国出口商品交易会(又称广交会)正式更名为中国进出口商品交易会。
广交会自此站在了一个新的历史起点。
广交会一直以服务中国外经贸为己任,经过50年的发展,目前已成为中国历史最长、规模最大、商品种类最全、到会客商最多、成交效果最好的综合性国际贸易盛会,被誉为“中国第一展”。
更名为“中国进出口商品交易会”,赋予了广交会更广泛和更深刻的历史内涵。
2006年召开的中央经济工作会议,明确提出了“积极扩大进口”的重要任务,展示了中国外贸战略实施重大转变的决心。
如同50年前为中国迈出对外开放的步伐而诞生一样,广交会肩负新的重任,再次启航。
展望未来,广交会将以更高的起点、更宽的视野、更新的思路,更好地服务于国家改革开放和经济建设大局、服务于建设社会主义和谐社会的全局目标。
在新的历史阶段,中国对外贸易中心作为广交会的承办方,将一如既往地坚持以“专业化、市场化、法制化、产业化和国际化”的方向办好广交会,努力探索适应新任务、新要求的组展模式、办展模式和服务体系,使广交会的成功经验与国际惯例接轨;切实转变观念,着力增强服务意识,以优质服务作为取胜之本,把新时期的广交会办成紧跟新形势、新要求的世界一流展会。
