三、运用套译的翻译方法
1)称呼语的套译 英文信函中常用的是Dear Sir/Madam, Gentlemen, Ladies 等,此处的Dear 只是一 种表示对收信人的尊称,是一种礼貌的习惯 性表达方法,不等同于汉语中的“亲爱的”, 因此,根据汉语习惯我们可以套译为:尊敬 的阁下/先生(女士/夫人),有时也可以套译 为:敬启者、谨启者、执事先生、尊鉴、台 鉴等。
2)结尾敬语的套译 结尾敬语的表达方式有很多,例如:Yours faithfully, Faithfully yours,Yours truly, Best regard, Sincerely, Best wishes, Yours sincerely, Kind regards等等。它们 可以直接套译为:谨上、敬上、谨启、顺致 敬意等,而不能直接按照字面意思进行翻译。
商业书信有以下一些自身的特点: 1)在格式上具有程式性的特点。商业 信函和普通社交信函一样,有一定的格 式规范要求,内容上英文商务信函由要 受、发信人的地址,写信的日期,称谓 语,正文,结束语和签名等几部分组成, 而且地址的排列规律及其各部分的排放 位置等都有严格的规范要求。在格式上 有缩行式、平头式和混合式。
2)内容上比较简明。鉴于商业信函 的习惯和要求,商务信函力求简洁 明了,一方面直入主题,开门见山, 往往免却通礼寒暄的客套,直接入 题,就事论事;另一方面,要长话 短说,行文简短,切忌长篇大论, 避免罗嗦和重复。

Business executives are supposed to write good business letters as to carry out business routine efficiently.All business letters have two main functions. One is to ask for and give a reply to an enquiry, offer, order or complaint. The other one is to keep a record of all the important facts for ready reference. An effective business letter will say what the writer wants it to say clearly and simply.A business letter that is neat, easy to read, and present a professional image will leave a good impression on the reader.1.2Writing Guide1.2.1The Essentials of Business Letter Writing——7 “Cs” principlesClarity清晰: Try to express yourself clearly. Keep in mind the purpose of the letter; Use appropriate words in correct sentence structures; A void ambiguous sentences. Conciseness简洁: Say things in the fewest possible words. A good plan to make correct practice habit is to adopt one form of letter format and stick to it. The three main formats are as follows.1. Blocked Format With this letter style, all letter parts begin at the left margin. Because this style can save the typist’s time, so it has come to be much widely used and preferred now. The loss of clarity occasioned by the absence of indentations may be made good by increasing the number of separating line-spacing between paragraphs.2. Semi-blocked Format Like blocked format, all letter parts begin at the left margin, except the dateline, complimentary closing, company signature and writer’s identification, which are set against the right-hand margin. They are placed in this position for filing and reference purposes. It is also named as a modified blocked format.3. Indented Format The indented format may follow the same layout as either the blocked or semi-blocked formats, but will differ in that the paragraphs will each be indented by four or five spaces. It is a traditional format, especially in Britain.1.2.4 The Format of envelopes The envelope should match the stationery in color and style. Most companies have the return address in the upper-left corner of the envelope, giving the sameinformation as the letterhead. Otherwise you must type or write your return address the same way as you do for the inside address, usually in smaller typeface than the name and address of the receiver.Name and address of the receiver is always single-spaced with all lines aligned on the left, and they should be in all capital letter, with no punctuation at the end of each line. The order in writing the address is from the smallest division to the largest, just opposite to the Chinese custom in writing addresses.The in-house notation is placed three lines down the return address and is in all capital letters. 商务信函中英文范文商务信函中英文范文商务信函的要求一完整在写信时,为了避免传输错误信息,务必使书信的基本内容“按部就班” 、完整无缺。
例如,在信文中提到收到对方来信,或是在末尾落款时,不可一笔带过,而应准确到具体日期。
一般要求写明何月何日,必要时还须写明何年何月何日何时。
在书写信封时,双方的邮编不可缺少。
另外,在书写收信人及发信人地址时,要力求其完整,而不宜采用简称。
惟有如此,方能确保书信被及时送达,或是因故被退还时不至于丢失。
二清楚书写信函时,必须使之清晰可辨。
要做到这一点,须注意以下四个方面:(1)字迹要清楚,切勿潦草、乱涂乱改。
(2)要选择耐折、耐磨、吸墨、不、不残、不破的信纸、信封,切勿不加选择,随意乱用。
(3)要选用字迹清楚的笔具与墨水。
在任何时候,都不要用铅笔、圆珠笔、水彩笔写信,红色、紫色、绿色、纯蓝等色彩的墨水也最好别用。
(4)在书信里叙事表意时,要层次明、条理清,有头有尾,切忌天马行空、云山雾罩,令人疑惑丛生,不知所云。
这是写商务信函要特别注意的一点。
三简洁写信如同作文一样,同样讲究言简意赅、适可而止。
在一般情况下,写信应当“有事言事,言罢即止” ,切勿洋洋洒洒、无休无止。
当然应当避免为使书信简洁而矫枉过正,走向另一个极端,过分地惜墨如金,而使书信通篇冰冷乏味。
四正确在写信时,不论是称呼、叙事,还是遣词造句,都必须做到正确无误。
在信中,杜绝出现错字、别字、漏字、代用字或自造字,也不要为了省事,而用汉语拼音或外文替代不会写的字。
在书写收信人姓名、地址、职务及尊称时,不允许出现任何差错。
书写信封时,在收信人姓名之后书写的称呼如“同志” 、“先生” 、“小姐”等等,是专供邮递员或带信人使用的,而并非是发信人对收信人所用的称呼,因此像“大人” 、“爱妻” 、“小弟”之类的私人称呼,是不宜出现的。
五礼貌写信人在写信时,要像真正面对收信人一样,以必要的礼貌,去向对方表达自己的恭敬之意。
其中的一个重要做法,就是要尽量多地使用谦词与敬语。

在商务活动与社交活动中,有时正确的信函格式和结构与信函的内容一样重要,它有助于信函给对方留下一个好的印象,并为双方关系持久下去奠定基础。
1. 信函的格式1.1. 齐头式信函中所有内容,包括信内地址、日期、签名等都从信的左边开始,垂直成一条直线。
这种格式相对来说现代、快捷、容易操作,无论在商务信函还是在社交信函中都很通行。

此种格式易于打字,且外观新颖。

2. 信函的结构信函通常由以下部分组成。
2.1. 信头(Letterhead)信头,亦称回信地址(return address),这是中国人所不习惯用的。
其实,它很重要,是复信的依据。
因为信封往往不被保留,而且,有些信封上并不标明寄信人的地址。
信头通常包括寄信人的地址或公司的名称、地址、电话、电传、传真号、电报挂号、邮政编码以及信函编号(reference number) (编号是用来标示有关的来往信函,并对信函编号归档)。
信头通常写在信笺的右上方。
如果信笺上已经有印刷信头,则可免去此项。
地址的书写顺序是由小到大。
