盱眙地处江苏北部，隶属江苏省淮安市，是徐州、盐城、连云港、宿迁、淮安五市到省会南京的必经之地。

县内现辖14镇5乡，面积2483平方公里，人均面积居江苏第一。

2009年，盱眙成功实现“两突破、一达到”：人均GDP突破3000美元、城镇居民人均可支配收入突破2000美元、农民人均现金收入基本达到1000美元。

提前完成“十一五”主要经济指标，实现了跨越式发展。

This is Xuyi, a county boasting magnificent mountains , the picturesque Huaihe River and the boundless Hongze Lake.Local people have always dreamt to make Xuyi a world-famous name.
