(1)Which one do you prefer, to solve problems on your own experience and knowledge, or to ask others for advice? As knowledge and experience serve as twim towers in problem-solving, one is often presented with two major paths that pave the way for final fulfillment, eitther to wrack his brain, just like what happened to Neuton, siiting for many years under an apple tree and eventually figuring out ond of the greatest universal rules that govern the whole globe, or to seek for others’widsom through their advice, just as in the case of Benjinin Franklin, gathering great minds under one roof and then establishing a most world-renown libray. Both ways work. When a practical goal is involved, however, Benjimin Franklin may best be regareded as a role model in this respect and asking people for advice often turn out to be the prime alternative.Experience and knowledge borrowed or learned from others’advice contribute greatly to effectiveness and effeciency for a goal-accomplishment. Not all experience and knowledge related to problem-solving can be obtained by personal effort alone due to limitations of mind and capabilities of each individual. A single thought in someone’s mind is, more often than not, far less shining compared with group’s wisdom. That explains the famous old saying that one sees further when standing upon the shoulders’of past great giants; that explains why a great leader is always with greater minds; that also explains why teamwork in corperation is highly emphasized in the 21st century. Brainstorm and exchange of ideas between different thoughts never fail to enhance capabilities of each individula involved, a team, a company, an institution, a country, or even the entire global village.Asking others’advice instead of getting everything done on one’s own promotes democracy and communication too. In terms of democracy, it is necessary t o give others rights and chances to speak since the problem may concern them in different ways, and their saying in turn reflects our respect toward freedom of speech as well as their wisdom. In terms of communication, idea exchange sometimes focuses more than solutions, and hereby better mutual understanding about perspectives, principles, praticalities and personalities of each other.Admittely turning to others for help and suggestion by no means refers to absolute and irresponsible dependence. Consideration upon different thoughts and ideas broadens our mind, enlarges our vision, furthers understanding, enhances more effective and efficient brainstorm, and stresses mutual respect in groups and communities, which undoubtedly gives rise to better, if not the best solutions. As is paraphrased f rom John F Kenedy, brainstormed, there is little we cannot do while divided, there is little we can do. (2)Case of Benjinin Franklin, gathering great minds under one roof and then establishing a most world-renown libray. Others live in different towns and cities. Which do you think is beterr? Give reasons for your answer. After they complete their univerrsity studies, some students preferr to live in their hometowns while others choose to live in different towns or cities. Everybody has his own reasons for his preference. After my graduation, I will go back and live in my home city. I have made this decision because of the following reasons.Firstly, my home city is a big city that can offer a lot. There are plenty of opportunities for work, many big libraries for studies, several differrent musiums for visit, and numerous cinemas, theaters and centers for entertainment. When I go back there, I will have no difficulty in finding a job suitable for me and I can make use ofall the facilities available there.Secondly, if I go back to my home city, I can look after my parents. I take this into consideration because I am their only child and they are now weak and getting on in age. If I live in the same city with them, I can visit them very often and help them whenever it is necessary.Thirdly, if I live in my home city, I will have a lot of friends, schoolmates and relatives to visit and to turn to for help when I need. Of course, I could get acquaintedwith many people and make many friends if I were to go to live in a strange place, but that takes time. If I go back to my home city, everybody will be waiting for me and Iwill be able to settle down comfortably without any trouble and waste of time.In short, my choise is based on a careful consideration of my home city and my family.I think it is a better or sensible choice; in a certain sense, it is a must.Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion, what are the qualities of a good neighbor? Use specific details and examples in your answer. (4)If you have a good neighbor, you are a lucky person. You have someone who cares about your needs and your property, who is helpful in the little day-to-day situations that come up, and who is supportive in times of crisis.A good neighbor is someone who, for instance, understands that y our children may occasionally run across his lawn,- even though you tell them not to. He'll realize that children can be careless about things like that, and he won't make a big fuss about it unless it becomes a regular thing. In the same vein, he knows that you'll understand if some of the trash from his trash cans blows across into your yard. In other words, heis sensitive to the unintentional things that can happen. He doesn't make a big deal about them.A good neighbor is also respectful of your property. For example, she asks your permission before doing anything that interferes with what's yours. This means she wouldn't plant a huge tree in between your houses without asking how you felt about it. If she wanted to put up a fence, she would let you know first. She might work with you to decide where it should be placed. Maybe the two of you would even split the cost.A good neighbor would lend you some milk if you ran out. She'd give you a ride to work if your car was broken, and let your children stay at her house in the evening if you got stuck working overtime. You would do the same for her. Both of you would help make the other's life easier. When something really awful happens to you, like a death in the family, a good neighbor will volunteer to help in any way he can. This could mean something small, like making some casseroles t o put in your freezer to feed visiting relatives. Or it could mean something big, like helping you get through the sadness of the funeral.I think only someone who has experienced a bad neighbor can really appreciate a good one! A good neighbor can be a good friend. He or she can make all the difference in the world to your life. (5)Some people prefer to eat at food stands or restaurants. Other people prefer to prepare and eat food at home. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and esamples to support your answer. Some people like to eat out at food stands and restaurants, while others like to prepare food at home. Often it depends on the kind of lifestyle people have. Those with very busy jobs outside the house don’t always have time to cook. They like the convenience of eating out. Overall, though, it is cheaper and healthier to eat at home. While eating in restaurants i s fast, the money you spend can add up. When I have dinner at a restaurant with a friend, the bill is usually over twenty dollars. I can buy alot of groceries with that much money. Even lunch at a fast-food stand usually costs five or six dollars for one person. That’s enough to feed the whole family at home. Eating at home is better for you, too. Meals at restaurants a re often high in fat and calories, and they serve big plates of food-much more food-than you need to eat at one meal. If you cook food at home, you have more control over the ingredients. You can use margarine instead of butter on your potatoes, or not put so much cheese on top of your pizza. At home, you can control your portion size. You can serve yourselfas little as you want. In a restaurant, you may eat a full plate of food "because you paid for it."It’s true that eating out is convenient. You don’t have to shop, or cook, or clean up. But real home cooking doesn’t have to take up a lot of time. There are lots of simple meals that don’t take long to make. In fact, they’re faster than eating out, especiallyif you think of the time you spend driving to a restaurant, parking, waiting for a table,, waiting for service, and driving home. Both eating at restaurants and cooking at home can be satisfying. Both can taste good and be enjoyed with family and friends. I prefer cooking at home because o f the money and health issues, but people will make the choice that fits their lifestyle best. It has recently been announced that a new movie theater may be built in your neighborhood. Do you support or oppose this plan? Why? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.A New Movie TheaterEntertainment is an important part of everyone’s life. We all need to take time to relax insgroupsto live healthy lives and do our work efficiently. It is easier to relax when an appropriate form of entertainment is convenient and close by. Therefore, I would support a proposal to build a new movie theater in my neighborhood. Entertainment places can bring some disadvantages to a community such as increased traffic and noise, but I believe the advantages of a new movie theater would outweigh these concerns. For one thing, the people in my neighborhood would save time. When they wanted to see a movie they could simply walk to the new theater rather than spend time traveling by bus or car. In addition, it would be safer for children to visit a nearby movie theater rather than one in some other part of the city. And finally, a new theater might attract other businesses, such as restaurants and coffee shops, where the people of my neighborhood could go to relax. In short, a new movie theater in the neighborhood would increase the number of entertainment options for the residents. They could enjoy themselves more easily without spending a lot of time traveling to another part of the city. For these reasons I would support the building of a movie theater in my neighborhood.

Games are as important for adults as they are for children. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Games are fun. This is true for adults and children alike. However, games also teach a variety of skills and they further every domain of a person's development. This is particularly important during the early stages of life.Through games children learn gross motor and fine motor skills, they practice and develop the ability to use language, and they learn important interpersonal and social skills. Adults can use games to strengthen these areas, but their abilities are already much more advanced, and therefore games are more important for children. In play a child learns gross motor skills such as walking or jumping, which an adult has already mastered.Pushing a shopping cart, for example, teaches a toddler to balance his/her weight and to use his/her legs to support his/her body. This activity is game and exercise at the same time, but it would be completely unnecessary for adults. Similarly, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are areas in which a child has much more to learn than an adult. Thus playing catch with a baseball has a much greater benefit to the young and inexperienced person.Language games allow children to practice and strengthen their language skills. Even simple singsong or rhyming games aid in this development. Needless to say, due to their advanced language ability, adults would not get much out of these simple ditties. In comparison, adult language games such as scrabbledon't build but fine-tune language ability. Children are not able to compete here because they have not yet amassed enough knowledge.Elementary interpersonal and social skills ranging from communication to cooperation are also developed in play. Children learn systems of social rules when engaging in simple activities like pick-up football games. For example, they learn how to control themselves and to tolerate their frustrations around others. They also learn how to work in a team. These, of course, are abilities that are extremely important for adults as well, but, once again, children have more to learn. Should adults make important decisions for their older teenage children?Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents or other adult relatives should make important decisions for their older (15 to 18 year-old) teenage children. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

It is a common phenomenon that students meet all sorts of problems to solve in study. Teachers and friends are the ones we can count on no matter how difficult the problems are. But when it comes to whether teachers are more valuable than our friends, some people may agree with it, for experienced tutors can guide us. However, I disagree based on the following reasons. It is not to say tutors do not play an important role in dealing with questions. They would recommend books of specific subject, provide words of wisdom and share their problem-solving mentality to pull us through hard questions. However, we can seek help from our friends who are excelled at a certain subject or have been through the same problem. So the merit from teachers seems insignificant compared with those brought by our friends.First, the problems my friends are faced with can be tackled effectively and timely. Obviously, teachers have a heavy workload. They have to spend hours checking books, studying material and doing research before classes to get fully prepared. Right after class there will be questions to be answered and papers to be graded. Once my friends want to ask teachers for help, they have to make an appointment ahead of time according to teachers’schedules. But for my part, there is close involvement in providing assistance for my friends both at home and in school At home, we can contact at any time, such as chat on some social applications to record the important points or start a video call to shorten the time we type. At school, we take a class in classrooms, prepare for final exams in libraries as well as have a rest in dormitories. As a result, if needing help, my friends can find me wherever and whenever. .Second, I, myself, is also a beneficiary. On the one hand, helping my friends gives me an opportunity to absorb knowledge in more direct and interesting ways. Solutions to math problems are good examples. Instead of reading about obscure concepts, we can see them presented in vivid method in various real-world examples. Instead of reading about complicated formulas, we can see how magically these formulas are applied to a range of problem-solving investigations. Throughout the duration of explaining the understanding of thequestions, I can review what I have learned and detect what I have neglected. On the other hand, it can be a helper for me to acquire essential learning skills. To be specific, while making real contributions to coping with these problems, I am actively learning how to organize, express and transfer which are indispensable for future study even for career life. Therefore, if my friends are struggling with complex problems while studying, I prefer offering help for them to advising them to find a tutor.托福写作高级形容词替换之褒义词1、重要的 importantvital ['va?t(?)l]She had found out some information of vital importance.

Has this change improved the way people live? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

People today can prepare their meal much easier than hasever been before. To prepare a single dinner, provident housewives usually had to work for hours in the past: they had to buy home dirty vegetables which had to wash, meat which had to slice, and so on so forth. Each and every step of preparation was a time-consuming task. But now, things are entirely different. Supermarkets provide vegetables and meat clean and neat, some of them even have relevant ingredients and need only a few minutes to be made into delicious meals. And this change has indeed greatly improved the way people live. In a sense, food preparation is no longer a tedious task, at least much easier to tolerate. Such a change has liberated many women and given them chance to do more meaningful things, for example, a higher pay job or a more respectful one. On the other hand, more men are becoming willing to do the thing that they once hated so much, and in some cases such transformation of men brought dramatic positive impact on the family. Today, it's not hard to imagine a wife comes home after a day's hard work and how delightful she is to find out his husband has already prepared her several her favorite dishes! Children can more easily become independent—at least they can make themselves breakfasts or dinners when parents are occasionally not present. But such a change has also brought some unexpected consequences. Girls nowadays are becoming more and more reluctant to deem household work as their responsibility. The reason is quite straightforward: it was once really ridiculous to insist men do trivial household work rather than go work and earn money to support family, but conditions have altered now, girls might think: “I can work as well, or maybe I can earn a higher salary than you do, dear boy friend, if you want to marry me, answer me one question first, will you prepare me breakfast and dinner every day?" And some boys, on the other hand, are becoming hesitant to get married, or simply remain solitary, among miscellaneous reasons they do so is one thing: "I can take care of myself, at least I don't really need someone prepare me dinner!"Anyway, such a change is positive and it did improve the quality of people's life. At least it has brought girls, boys, husbands, wives, children and everyone else who has to prepare food an opportunity, no matter what kind of opportunity it is.托福独立写作难点话题思路解读和高分范文赏析:Are parents the best teachers?托福写作难点话题一览Are parents the best teachers? 2020年12月13日托福写作答案解析12月13日托福综合写作题目:Topic 议题:the special functions of the hammer-shaped head of a kind of a shark12月13日托福综合写作范文:Sample answer:The reading and listening discuss about the special functions of the hammer-shaped head of a kind of a shark. The passage mentions three functions. Whereas, the professor totally refutes the three points presented in the passage.Firstly, the professor rebuts the reading’s first point that sharks with such shaped head turn around quickly. The professor claims that this kind of shark does turn around quickly, but it is not because of the special head, but because of other factors such as skeleton. Besides young sharks were used in the previous experiment, thus the young also affected the result. Maybe the old ones with such special heads cannot turn around that quickly.Secondly, the professor contradicts reading’s second point that such head helps impr ove the shark’s sensitivity to electricity field. The professor mentions that an experiment proved that all sharks with and without this special head have similar sensitivity to artificial electric field. At last, the passage states the third view that the head can be used as a weapon to hunt prey. However, the professorexplains that Sharks’ eyes are located at both sides of the hammerhead, which is risky for them to use hammerheads as weapons. Besides, there’s no evidence to prove that sharks ever used heads as weapons.12月13日托福独立写作题目:作文题目:Some people believe older children should help parents to take care of younger siblings, while others believe this is parents' responsibility. 托福备考之独立写作观点分析及范文

托福备考之独立写作观点分析及范文托福备考之独立写作观点分析及范文Should young children spend most of their time on school studies orplaying? Some people think that children should begin their formal education at a very early age and shouldspend most of their time on school studies. Others believe that young children should spend most oftheir time playing. Compare these two views. Which view do you agree with?

早上学的好处和坏处:好处是很多提前上学的孩子显得聪明,对付学习显得游刃有余(be more than equalto a task; accomplish a task with ease)。

坏处是,经常挨欺负(be bullied; be treated rough)。

Thanks to the efforts of mass medias, modern citizens are increasingly aware of the severity of environment problems. Facing the worsening conditions on earth, people have adopted various methods to protect the environment, such as giving up driving, recycling objects and buying local organic food. In my mind, the last one is the simplest but most effective solution that we common people can take to preserve environment. In the first place, for the cultivation of organic food, farmers are strictly restrained to use fertilizers and pesticides which contribute a lot to pollution. It is true that fertilizers and pesticides can help farmers increase yields and reduce costs. In the long term, however, many chemical elements are left in soil and drain to local water system, like underground water and rivers. The accumulation of those chemical elements is detrimental to local ecosystem, as some small animals, such as fish and frog, may take in and store them in their body. In addition, while killing harmful insects, pesticides are also poisonous to birds who prey on them. So, it is fair to say that if more people buy local organic food, there will be fewer fertilizers and pesticides applied, and therefore less pressure on the environment. In the second place, to decrease the market share of food transported from places far away is to reduce energy consumption, especially gasoline and electricity. We have tonotice that the rapid economic development and population growth is burning up our natural resources. The improvement of living standards also exacerbates energy crisis. If local food is actually enough to satisfy people’s needs, the long distance transportation of food is absolutely unnecessary but a waste of energy. Even worse, some kinds of food have to be carefully stored under certain temperature or be frozen. Then, the transportation cost is even higher. For example, fresh tropical fruits transported by air to cities in the northern areas are usually sold at a high price which includes the cost of transportation. Therefore, when we buy local food, we are actually save energy. In the third place, walking and bicycling to work or study place and recycling old objects are not feasible or effective in conserving environment. For some citizens, driving to the office or school is the only choice, as there is no convenient access to public transportation and walking and cycling will cost too much time on the road. In addition, although it is a good habit to recycle old objects, this may generate other problems. For instance, there must be enough space in the room for the storage of old subjects, which is quite inconvenient for people renting a small flat.To sum up, individuals can contribute a lot to environment preservation. Among all the methods discussed above, the purchase of local organic food is the best option.which of the following is the most effective way to protect the environment:1 walking and bicycling instead of driving to work and study2 recycling old objects3 buying locally grown organic food1 步行或汽车利:节省能源,减少尾气排放弊:不方便,因为没有公共交通,或者距离太远,浪费时间2 循环利用利:减少资源的使用弊:比较麻烦,而且废旧物品的储存占据太多空间3 购买当地有机食品利:有机食品不使用化肥农药,而化肥农药造成污染;减少食品运输能源消耗弊:一般比较贵作者:Cindy。

We live in a world boasting culture diversity. People from different cultures have their own unique traditions and customs. But, to have family dinners together regularly is a tradition shared by many cultures, and a tradition that should be continued. In the first place, family dinners serve as a strong bond that connects familymembers together tightly. In modern society, parents are busy with work while children spend most of their time studying and joining social activities, whichleads to the lack of communication between family members. This strongly stress the importance of regular family dinner, as eating together as a family provides ideal opportunities for communication. While sitting together around the table and enjoying delicious food, people have cheerful atmosphere to chat, play jokes, exchange information and offer emotional supports. For example, during weekends, it is necessary for family members to meet together for a big dinner at home or in the restaurant where they catch up with each other’s news, such as children’s school activities and parents’ anecdotes that happened in the office. In the second place, children growing up in a family whose members have meals together regularly are much healthier both physically and mentally. Parents know well what children need for physical development, so family dinners are essential for children to take in necessary nutrients while avoid excess fat and sugar.More importantly, the experience of preparing the family dinner and enjoying delicious food together teaches children how to express love and take care of others. When they learn to keep in mind family members’ different preferences on food, they know how to think from others’ perspectives. The praise and appreciation on food from family members helps them to understand that people derive more happiness from giving instead of taking from others. To sum up, it is highly necessary for people to have family dinners togetherregularly, as family dinners provide chances for effective communication among family members and help children grow up healthily and happily.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?Nowadays it is not important for people to have regularly family meals together.Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

If I could go back to a certain time and place in the past, I would choose to go to ancient Egypt, to the time when they were building the great pyramids. This time period and place is greatly interesting to me for the following reasons: first, how were the great pyramids built? Second, Egypt is one of the few places in the world that has as rich a culture as China's. How did ancient life in Egypt compare to the existence of the ancient Chinese person? Finally, I find this time and place interesting because I am curious about the myths and legends that ancient Egyptians believed in. There is much speculation as to exactly how the great pyramids were built. The pyramids are an architecturalfeat, even by today's standards. They are massive in size, with almost perfect angles leading up to the point at the top of the pyramid. How did the men manage to carry those enormous stones up the side of the pyramid? How was it possible to cut the stones so precisely, to allow for this even, mathematical design? Current science has analyzed these problems, and has decided that with today's technology, this would not be a problem. I am very interested, however, to learn how such technology was possible in ancient Egypt. I am also very interested in how ancient Egyptian life compared to that of the ancient Chinese. Did they experience similar toils, or were their lives very different? Did the ancient Egyptians know about the ancient Chinese? All of these questions would be answered for me if I could travel back to the above-mentioned time period. China has some very interesting myths, legends and religions that were formed thousands of years ago. Ancient Egyptians were spiritual people also. I am curious to know more about these ancient religions. Were the beliefs held by the majority, or were there only a few who believed in such ideas? There are so many unanswered questions about ancient periods, particularly ancient Egypt. By traveling back in time, I would learn a great amount about topics that have remainedunanswered for thousands of years.87. What discovery in the last century has been most beneficial for your compatriot? What discovery in the last 100 years has been most beneficial for people in your country? Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice.『分析』这是一道比较自由的题目,可以随意发挥。

分论点三:造成risk of memory 是因为levels of blood 的升高,而gluten 只会造成levels of blood temporary 升高,然后回到average level ,那些好几年都是high level of blood 才会导致memory risk,所以他们是没有关系的而且不同gluten,一个人的blood sugar 以及一些问题都不会改善,所以gluten 和以上那些疾病是没有关系的。

托福独立写作范文解析如何写好*Essay TopicWhich one is the most important for teacher of high school?1. The ability to help students plan for their future;2. The ability to find the students who need help most and help them;3. Teach students how to learn outside the classroom.

The ability to help student with planning their future is definitely the most important capability for high school teachers. To begin with, high school students are in desperate need for guidance about their future, and teachers are the only competent candidate to provide it. I know this from my personal experience. When I was in high school, a great portion of my classmates’ only goal is to reach for the minimum requirement for graduation, and to be able to get an offer from a middle-ranged college in the US, as all 15-year-old boys are profoundly addicted to either computer games or love affairs. Because of our immature mind, we had no idea regarding the choice of universities, or the selection of a future career path. What made matters worse is that our high school teachers provided us with virtually zero guidance concerning our college applications, not because they lack of the intention, but simply because they know nothing about it. Consequently, the vast majority of our parents had to hire an outside agency that specializes in the college application process which costs tons of money. Later we realized that this is an utter mistake, for what theydid was simply giving us the timeline of the application process, translating our personal statements and recommendation letters from Chinese into English, and finally mailing out all our materialsto the US. All of these simple tasks could be performed by ourselves, and these misfortunes surely could have been avoided if we had the luck to meet more competent teachers, with the ability to warn students and their parents about the black-hearted agencies and lay out lucid plans for students’ future. The capability to find the students who need assistance most and help them, on the other hand, is not that imperative. The reason for this is quite simple, since high school students would come to teachers voluntarily if they are in serious trouble. In other words, many times students don’t want to be bothered by a teacher who treats them like a baby-sitter. As for the “help” part, I firmly hold the faith that all teachers are already equipped with the willingness to solve student’s problem gladly, using their prehistoric powers, no matter how difficult the situation can be. So the willingness to help students should be the minimum standard to be qualified as a teacher.Similarly, the skill to teach students how to learn outside the classroom is completely unnecessary. For one, most high schoolstudents have no time outside their classrooms at all, as all their spare time is already occupied by cram school or by extracurricular activities. Even in the rare circumstance that some students may have free time, parents could always play the part of their instructor on how to self-study.
