Wei Jianxing, former head of the Central Commission forDiscipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC), diedof illness in Beijing at 8:00 am on Friday, according to astatement from the CPC Central Committee. Wei, 85, was praised inthe statement as an excellent Party member, a time-tested and loyalcommunist soldier, a proletarian revolutionist, statesman and anoutstanding leader of the Party and the State.
中共中央发消息称，中国共产党的优秀党员，久经考验的忠诚的共产主义战士，无产阶级革命家、政治家，党和国家的卓越领导人，中央纪律检查委员会原书记尉健行同志，因病医治无效，于7日上午8时在北京逝世。

享年85岁。

At least four UK police forces are independently investigatingclaims that include child sexual abuse involving the late Britishprime minister Edward Heath. They come at a time when Britain hasbeen rocked by a series of revelations involving the sexual abuseof children by public figures. In a statement, Kent Police said ithad received a report Tuesday of a sexual assault in East Kent inthe 1960s. "The victim has named Sir Edward Heath in connectionwith the allegation." and1974, Heath died in 2005 aged 89.

Juichi Yamagiwa, president of Kyoto University and master ofgorilla studies, has come out with a new cheese cake made fromlactobacillus that can only be found in gorilla's gut. Yamagiwa andother researchers found the new lactobacillus in African gorillasand they drew the lactobacillus from gorillas' feces. Thelactobacillus can be made into yogurt after cultivation, which issaid to have a special flavor. The cheese cakes made from gorillafeces priced at 399 yen each, go on sale at Kyoto University duringAug 6-8 and the number is limited to 150.

山极寿一和研究员在非洲大猩猩体内发现这种新型乳酸菌，并从大猩猩粪便中提取出来，通过培养之后制作成酸奶，据说吃起来别有一番风味。

>Private loans regulated 企业间借贷获司法放行、民间借贷利率上限为36% Companies will be allowed to lend and receive private loansfor the sake of production management, according to the SupremePeople's Court (SPC) Thursday, defining "private loans" asfinancial exchanges among individuals, legal entities and otherorganizations. According to the SPC, a borrower is obligated to payinterest in its entirety if the annual
interest rate is not above24%. If the rate is above 36%, the part of interest accrued overthe 36% threshold is not recognized by courts. The rules will takeeffect on Sept 1.
最高法6日称，民间借贷是指自然人、法人、其他组织之间进行资金融通的行为，因此允许企业之间为生产经营进行民间借贷。

最高法还规定，如果约定利率未超过年利率24%，借款人理应按照约定利率支付利息，但如果约定利率超过年利率36%，则超过年利率36%部分的利息不受法律保护。

该司法解释将从9月1日起施行。

Malaysia's Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said Thursdaythat a Malaysian team in the French territory of Reunion island hadfound other plane debris, including pieces of windows, seatcushions and aluminum foil. But he added that it's unclear whetherthe objects, which still need to be verified by French authorities,are from MH370. Liow said Malaysia has asked authorities inneighboring areas, including Mauritius and Madagascar, to helpwiden the search by combing their beaches for possibledebris.
马来西亚交通部长廖中莱6日称，马来西亚的一个团队在法属留尼汪岛上收集到其他飞机残片，包括舷窗残片、座垫和铝箔。

Egypt inaugurated a new Suez Canal on Thursday, which runspart of the way alongside the existing canal connecting the Red Seaand the Mediterranean and opens a 35km channel parallel to it. Theexpansion aims to increase the traffic handled by the canal andboost the country's economy. The project, at a cost of $9b, isbeing touted as a landmark achievement. The original 193km canalwas opened in 1869 after almost a decade of work and has been oneof the busiest manual canal in the world.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will set upnew time zone named "Pyongyang time" and push back its standardtime by 30 minutes to mark the 70th anniversary of being liberatedfrom Japan's colonial rule, the Korean Central News Agency said onFriday. The standard time in DPRK and the Republic of Korea iscurrently nine hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), a standardintroduced by the Japanese occupiers, and the same time zone asTokyo. The agency said that the establishment of "Pyongyang time"is aimed at rooting out the legacy of the Japanese colonial period.It said the new time zone will take effect Aug 15.
朝鲜中央通讯社7日表示，为了纪念朝鲜脱离日本殖民统治70周年，朝鲜将设立新时区"平壤时间"，将现在的标准时间推迟30分钟。

Forbes revealed a first-ever list of the 100 Richest People InTech. Bill Gates ranks No 1 among tech tycoons, with a net worth of$79.6b. Alibaba founder Jack Ma is No 7 with a worth of $23.2b.Just over half, or 51 people, are from the US. Tech barons fromAsia made a strong showing as well. Out of Asia's 33 richesttechies, 20 are from the Chinese mainland and one from Hong Kong.Women accounted for only 7% of the tech billionaires.
