Ichased my friends around, trying to tag them, but they were all faster than me. Finally, I caught up with one of my friends, and I tagged her. Instead of laughing and playing with me,she started to cry. I was confused and didn't know what to do. I had never seen her cry before, and it made me feel bad.I asked her what was wrong, and she saidthat she didn't want to be "it" because she was afraid of being tagged. I realized that I had been so focused on winning the game that Ididn't think about how she felt. I felt sorryfor her, and I decided to make her feel better.I told her that I wouldn't tag her anymore, and I asked my other friends to do the same. We use technology for many things, such as communication, education, and entertainment. However, technology also has its drawbacks. One of the main drawbacks of technology is that it can be a distraction. Many people spend too much time on their phones, tablets, and computers, which can lead to decreased productivity and social isolation. Additionally, technology can be addictive, and people maybecome dependent on it for their happiness and well-being.Another drawback of technology is that itcan lead to a lack of face-to-face communication. While technology allows us to communicate with people all over the world, it can also make us less skilled at interacting with others in person. This can lead to difficulties inbuilding and maintaining relationships.Despite these drawbacks, technology has many benefits. It can help us stay connected with friends and family, access information quickly, and complete tasks more efficiently. However, it is important to use technology responsibly and find a balance between its use and other aspects of our lives.Questions:1. What is one of the main drawbacks of technology?2. How can technology be addictive?3. What is another drawback of technology?Passage 3:In recent years, there has been a growing concern about the impact of social media on young people's mental health. Many experts believe that social media can contribute to feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, and depression. One reason for this is that social media often presents an idealized version of people's lives. Users may only share the positive aspects of their lives, such as vacation photos or achievements, which can make other users feel like their own lives are not as exciting or successful. This can lead to feelings of envy and low self-esteem.Another reason is that social media can be a source of constant comparison. Users are exposed to a vast amount of content, including photos, videos, and status updates from their friends and influencers. This can lead to a constant need to compare oneself to others, which can be detrimental to one's mental health.Furthermore, social media can also contribute to feelings of isolation. While it may seem like users are connected with others, the nature of online communication can lack the depth and meaningfulness of face-to-face interactions. This can lead to feelings of loneliness and disconnection.Despite these concerns, it is important to note that social media also has its positive aspects. It can be a powerful tool for self-expression, information sharing, and connecting with others. However, it is crucial for young people to use social media mindfully and prioritize their mental health.Questions:1. What is one reason social media can contribute to mental health issues?2. How can social media be a source of constant comparison?3. What is another way social media can impact young people's mental health?三、完形填空(每题2分,共20分)When I was in high school, I had a biology teacher named Mr. Thompson who made a lasting impression on me.
I am very honor to be here to talk about this topic. There is no doubt that I can become a good English teacher. Why? The following reasons can be explained.
On the one hand, it is to certify that I have been an excellent teacher of English in our college for the past four years. I was admitted in 2004 after an entrance examination into Datong University, where I stayed for four years, majoring in English. While at college, I was extremely successful in studies and took active part in a number of social activities. I have a talent for literary and artistic work, and was on many occasions invited to give performances before large audiences, for which I enjoy great popularity.
Upon my graduation with honors in 2008, I was engaged by my college as a teacher of English. Many of my colleagues and students often speak highly of my ability and teaching skills. I always prove myself hardworking and modest.
On the other hand, I have patience. Patience is crucial to people from all walks of life. For example, good teachers should not only impart knowledge to students, but also care about their psychological state, especially those of the so-called “inferior students”. Thus, it requires a lot of patience when teachers look after theses academically poor students. Being patient might take a little pain, but we can harvest sweet fruit afterwards.
From the above information, I think that I can do this job very well.
