At the end of the story, they had a happy ending. As the most of people expected, they got married. Generally speaking , the film is pretty touching .In a quiet small town ,there take place so romantic love story and they who love each other gained happiness!
I remember especially the actress says finally: "I
am only an ordinary girl, stand in front of a boy that she loves asking him to love her. " how simple it is,we all moved deeply.
what impressed me most is that they said their unfortune out only for a piece of cake! No one is always lucky, such as the couple, the woman is diseased, even they can’t give birth to a baby. However, they are optimistic, and all have a positive attitude to the life.

No matter who you are, no matter what you do, no matter how famous you are ,and no matter how ordinary you are,if you had fallen in love with somebody ,you are only a common people ,you want the people you love to love you, just so!

201045639222Give me a chance, I will give a wonder back----- The Shawshank Redemption电影观后感Someone says this is a male film, because there are almost no female roles in the film. Someone says this is an inspirational film, because it passes the belief of never giving up. Someone says this is a legendary film, because it fully demonstrates the brilliance of human nature. The Shawshank Redemption is an American drama film directed by Frank Darabont in 1994. It is a classic film I have seen and I read the book The Shawshank Redemption in high school, The story begins with the trial of a young banker, Andy Dufrense, who victimized by circumstantial evidence. The Shawshank where people there all had been in the prison for ten years, they lived here for years without hope, and they lived in each small prison, where nobody knew what was their dream, what was their hope. Like the old man said: “Some birds aren't meant to be caged, but most birds will choose to stand it”. They had tried so many times to get away but they never finished it, at last they gave up. Nonetheless, Andy tried, and he had the bright brain, Spirit of perseverance and the most important thing----hope.Hope--- never give upRed:” Hope is a dangerous thing, and it is the root of mental anguish”. As he had been heavily squeezed for more than 30 years in prison, he was qualified to say this. Because when the first day he got in the prison, the warden said: "give the soul to God, I have the body.” However, Andy told him: “Remember, hope is a good thing, even the best thing, and no good thing ever dies.” Then Andy spent more than 20 years in digging a tunnel which Red thought it was unable to drill though spent 600 years on it. At last he got out of the prison by the tunnel.Through the film, the part impressed me most was when Andy got out of the jail. He could not help shouting in the heavy rain. He extended his arms in front of himself as if he were welcoming the fresh air and the freedom. At that moment, I saw that confidence would win the darkness; I saw the power of hope, and I found out thatthe most important thing to success was never giving up! When Andy in tunnel, it also was the darkest time, stench surrounded him, couldn’t see anything in front. I thought at that moment he must tell himself: “Hope is a good thing; maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies!” And he didn’t think too much, just insisted in crawling, because the hope was in his heart.Freedom ---- catch it before lose itThere was a Scene when the two Italian women were singing 《Le Nozze di Figaro》, Prisoners didn’t know what they were singing, In fact, no one wanted to know. But they lost in the voice; the voice flew so highly that hit the cloud top. The voice like a beautiful bird freely flew in the sky, and then flew into the gray prison and all prisoners in the prison felt moment of freedom.Prisoners are the people do really understand how important and valuable the freedom is, as ordinary people we can not realize the pain of loss of freedom. But it is wise of you to cherish it, before you lose it.Friendship---give you a handThis is also a movie about friendship, not loveIn my opinion, without Red’s help, Andy couldn’t get out of the prison successfully; he could not breathe the fresh air out of the prison, neither. The friendships between men in prison shocked me. The friendship between Andy and Red was built under the wall, but it seemed purer and cleaner than anyone’s in the world. They were both introvert, but they knew each other well. So when they met each other on the small island they smiled happily and brightly.I think success is derived from friendship, or teamwork. Friendship is one of the most important relationships in the world. Marx and Engels are famous not for their theory but also for their great friendship. Without Engels’s help《Das Kapital》couldn’t be finished. Without Engels’s help Marx might ha d starved to death before he became famous.Someone says it’s a movie about hope, I agree with this opini on. It tells me never lose hope and I should stick to my faith, because I can hold my fate. In fact, everyone lives in a prison, which has its own rule. It is the rule that imprison us, not the walls. You can’t change the rules, but you can struggle for yo ur own life, so never give up!。

Notting Hill"Reviewed by Carlos deVillalvillaThe world of the rich and famous can be fascinating for the rest of us, who live vicariously through the tabloids, glimpsing a lifestyle we will never lead. The romantic in all of us pines for a chance encounter with a charming prince or beautiful princess who sweeps us off our feet and into a life of wealth and privelege.Of course, this rarely happens in reality, but the tale is as old as our collective imaginations and "Notting Hill" tells it smartly.Julia Roberts is Anna Scott, the world's most famous and glamorous actress (now, that's a stretch) who for reasons that are never explained, finds herself in the Notting Hill bookshop of William Thacker (Apology King Hugh Grant). The two don't hit it off immediately; guarded and wary at first, they gradually grow warm and even affectionate as their feelings begin to manifest.insurmountable odds. Scott is surrounded by a phalanx ofpublicists and agents that make it difficult for the two to meet.Thacker is surrounded by a coterie of quirky but supportivefriends and family who are warm-hearted all, which of course bends reality to the breaking point, right?Circumstances continue to conspire against the couple. Scott's boyfriend (an uncredited Alec Baldwin) unexpectedly shows up, ruining what could have been an intimate encounter. When they finally do get together, loose lips alert the media, which turns the whole thing into a circus and kills the relationship before it starts. This being a Hollywood love story, we know how it's going to end, but even though we do, we still enjoy the ride.Grant, perhaps the greatest stammering aw-shucks romantic lead since Jimmy Stewart, is completely endearing as the ordinary Joe.Roberts pokes a lot of fun at her own image, while employing her own charisma to her advantage. Is there a more likable actress in Hollywood?Notting Hill is the real star of the movie. One of the most charming neighborhoods in London, it reminds me of San Francisco's neighborhoods, only with a British endurance. It feels solid and eternal while showing a homey, quirky face to the world.I wouldn't be surprised to find that real estate agents in Notting Hill got a lot of business off of "Notting Hill."Usually with these kinds of movies, Da Queen is my barometer of success. If she is tearful in the right places and ends up in a sentimentally romantic mood, it's a winner. With "Notting Hill," she wouldn't let go of me for at least five minutes after the closing credits.Likable leads with real chemistry, a sense of charm and English accents plus a plot that is pure fairy tale ... who could ask for anything more? As chick flicks go, "Notting Hill" is pure gold. When I was lying sleepless at nights, I would sometimes wonder what it would be like if I just turned up at my friends' house, where I used to have dinner once a week, with the most famous person at that time, be it Madonna or whomever. Who would try and be cool? How would you get through dinner? What would they say to you afterwards? That was the starting point, the idea of a very normal person going out with anunbelievably famous person and how that impinges on their lives.- Richard Curtis, screenwriter In the wake of "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace", there are adearth of new releases expected to open in the period immediatelybefore and following the sci-fi epic's May 19th release date. Withthe latest chapter in the sci-fi franchise expected to dominate thebox office over the next few weeks, many studios have quietlywithdrawn their major releases, giving Twentieth Century Fox andLucasfilm plenty of room to maneuver. However, some studioshave bravely decided to challenge "Star Wars: The PhantomMenace" for a share of the box office pie under the notion of counter-programming.In an effort to woo moviegoers who have little love for Lucas' latest, a number of releases scheduled around "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" cater to a different type of moviegoer (or so the studios hope). The most high-profile example would be "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me", slated in June. This past weekend, repackaged Hong Kong actioner "Black Mask" debuted into theaters. And then there is the Julia Roberts vehicle "Notting Hill", a romantic comedy bowing into theaters on May 28th, one week after George Lucas' 800 lb. gorilla. After all, another Julia Roberts romantic comedy, "My Best Friend's Wedding" did exceedingly well under stiff competition back (going up against heavyweights such as "The Lost World" and "Men in Black") in the summer of 1997... why should 1999 be any different? Unfortunately, this time around, "Notting Hill" lacks any of the charm and spunk that made "My Best Friend's Wedding" so memorable, and will most likely be one of the first casualties at the box office.I live in Notting Hill, and you live in Beverly Hills... everyone knows who you are.The concept is very simple: what if a nobody hada relationship with a very famous somebody? Will (Hugh Grant of "Sense and Sensibility") is adivorced bookseller living in Notting Hill,London. He has a simple life, running a bookstorethat specializes in travel books, and picking upafter his slothful and dim-witted roommate Spike(Rhys Ifans, in a scene-stealing role). However,Will's life undergoes a radical shift when of allthe bookstores in London, world famous actress Anna Scott (Roberts) has to walk into his. Will's first brush against fame is short as he manages to exchange a few pleasantries with Anna before she leaves the store. Fortunately for Will, this is not the last time he sees her. A short while later, while grabbing a coffee from a local shop, he runs into Anna, spilling his drink all over her shirt. Profusely sorry for making a mess, Willoffers Anna the use of his apartment down the street where she can clean up and change. And just as it seems as though Will is about let another golden opportunity slip through his fingers, Anna plants him a lingering kiss good-bye.And so begins an unlikely romance. Though they share an uncommon bond and find their own lives enriched by one another, the romance between Will and Anna is fraught with the same disappointment and pitfalls that are present in any relationship, only magnified by their contrasting stations in life. Anna is on a tight schedule with film shoots and press conferences, with her every move hungrily eyed by every tabloid reporter in town. Meanwhile, Will is an outsider to the glittery world of fame and stardom, and finds many of the doors needed for reaching Anna closed to him. Unfortunately, these difficulties, coupled with the unrelenting pressures of being constantly in the public eye, cast a dark cloud on the prospects of any truly lasting relationship between these two star-crossed lovers. The fame thing isn't real... I'm still just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her."Notting Hill" is one of those romantic-comedies that plays it safe by relying on internally-generated conflict in order to propel the drama. Unfortunately, there have been a lot of these lately ("Message in a Bottle" comes to mind), which makes "Notting Hill" dramatically unimpressive. Despite the interesting possibilities raised by the film's premise, Richard Curtis' script goes through the obligatory motions to set the story up (you can see the coffee-spilling accident a mile away), cultivate the relationship, and then pull the rug from under the characters with the expected sorts of complications. To make matters even less interesting, there are few external reasons stopping Will and Anna from pursuing their relationship, essentially internalizing all the conflict in the story (i.e. they only have to 'change their minds' in order for the relationship work). If Will or Anna, or both characters for that matter, had other externally-generated struggles that threatened to derail their relationship, perhaps the resolution would have been more emotionally gratifying since the choices that they would have to make would have been much harder. As it is, "Notting Hill" plays it safe with very few extenuating circumstances to complicate matters.Part of the problem is also the lack of chemistry between the two romantic leads. Though Grant is well cast as a common Londoner, and Roberts is her usual radiant self, their scenes together lack the requisite spark and their conversations seem strained without betraying any hint of sexual tension. Both actors have a history of being better suited at reacting to situations than taking the lead-- note that one of the reasons why Roberts was so great in "My Best Friend's Wedding" was because she was able to play off the quirks of the other characters, such as the gay editor. In "Notting Hill", there were few quirky characters, except for Spike, which Grant and Roberts could play off of. Instead, these two actors wind up taking turns trying to react to one another, and as a result, the scenes between Will and Anna seem forced and lethargically paced.Another issue with the script pertains to Roberts'character. Though some effort is made to elucidateAnna's point-of-view and the price she pays for fame, there are very few scenes that actually drive this issuehome. Part of the reason why this is important is thatthe Curtis' script never convincingly establishes Anna'smotivation for planting a kiss on Will after only knowing him for a few minutes. How lonely was her life? How much did she crave simple human contact or a brief respite from her hectic life? Unfortunately, these questions are never fully explored in "Notting Hill". Without providing any understanding as to what would drive Anna to do something so sudden, the set-up of the story comes across as some artificial construct to service the plot.Furthermore, the script's structure dispels any sense of urgency from the proceedings. For the first half of the film, the relationship between Will and Anna plods along with very little intensity. It is not until well into the second act that high-stakes complications actually set in, intensifying the forces that threaten to pull them apart, and exacerbating the emotional consequences of the choices that they make. Unfortunately, this area of high narrative momentum quickly dissipates, after which the film sinks into another emotional trough until things pick up again for a somewhat satisfying resolution. Had the film expanded on the more intense middle section of the plot, even at the expense of moving some of the earlier scenes into it, "Notting Hill" would have been more successful at achieving the emotional high expected in a romantic-comedy. As it is, the plot lacks direction, and unfolds in a seemingly haphazard manner. With few standout scenes, a lack of chemistry between its two leads, and a poorly structured plot, "Notting Hill" is a by-the-book romantic comedy that never seems to fully embrace the possibilities posed by its fetching premise. Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts may certainly be nice to look at, but there's little else in this film that could possibly captivate anyone for its two hour running time. I don't think George Lucas has anything to worry about from "Notting Hill".In Western culture, we are obsessed by the concept of celebrity. How else can one explain the plague of paparazzi that descends on public figures when they make appearances, or the popularity of gossip magazines and TV shows? Celebrities are like royalty - glamorous and untouchable, they become objects of unreasonable adulation. Perhaps one of the most common fantasies entertained by an "average" man or woman is what would happen if someone famous fell in love with them. And therein lies the premise of Roger Michell's new romantic comedy, Notting Hill.Hugh Grant plays William Thacker, the owner of a small bookstore in London's Notting Hill (described as "a small village in the middle of a city"). He's an average Joe - when he's not working, he spends time with his friends and his wacky Welsh flat-mate, Spike (Rhys Ifans), but has no romantic life to speak of. One day, however, the bedrock of his existence shifts when Anna Scott (Julia Roberts), the most famous actress in the world, walks through the door to his little shop. In London to publicize her new film, Helix (described as "Close Encounters meets Jean de Florette"), she's taking a break from the press, and Notting Hill seems like a good place to lose them. Later, William literally runs into her in the street, spilling orange juice all over her. Chagrined and embarrassed, he invites her to his place to clean up. Much to his surprise, she accepts his offer, and, after changing outfits, she gives him a lingering kiss on the lips. William is immediately smitten and so, apparently, is Anna. Thus begins a tempestuous relationship that asks whether a star can live happily ever after with someone who has never had his face in the papers.Although Notting Hill is a pleasant enough motion picture, it isn't much more than that. It's a tame movie that takes few chances. Even the casting of Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts is an example of playing it safe, since both are proven box office draws. (Wouldn't it have been more interesting to cast an unknown as the male lead?) The comedy, while sporadically funny, occasionally feels forced and unnatural, as if screenwriter Richard Curtis (Four Weddings and a Funeral) was compelled to ratchet up the level of humor at the cost of characters' credibility. Spike is a case in point. As portrayed by Rhys Ifans (one of the brothers in Twin Town), he's the constant butt of jokes (literally and figuratively), but he serves little purpose beyond that. He's a pure caricature of a bawdy slob, and, whenever he comes on screen, he becomes a distraction. Did I laugh at him? Yes. Would the movie have been better without him? Probably.Another problem with the film is that the romance is tepid. While there's a feeling of companionability and even affection between William and Anna, I never sensed any passion. These two seem more like brother and sister than lovers separated by an army of publicists and photographers. The plot follows the expected beat of a traditional romantic comedy: boy meets girl, boy likes girl, boy and girl get to know each other, then complications interfere. In this case, those complications come in the form of Anna's off-again/on-again boyfriend (Alec Baldwin) and the media.Getting Roberts to play Anna is a case of perfect casting, and one has to wonder whether she felt a sense of d閖?vu going through scenes where her character is grilled and hounded by the press. Roberts is one of a few actresses who can be luminous in almost any role, and, although her wattage is dimmed by Notting Hill's curiously muted tone, she's still the central attraction. Hugh Grant, on the other hand, seems to be sleepwalking through his part, relying on his "aw shucks" charm and boyish good looks (although the crow's feet are starting to show around his eyes) to get by. He's very good at dropping the self-deprecating one-liners, but, other than that, there's notmuch to the performance. He is constantly being upstaged by supporting players, particularly Ifans and Emma Chambers, who plays William's ditzy sister, Honey.Notting Hill is not without its pleasant moments. The relationship between two of William's friends, Max (Tim McInnerny) and Bella (Gina McKee), is touching. There's a titillating conversation between William and Anna about why men are attracted to breasts. (I couldn't help wondering what Quentin Tarantino would do with that dialogue...) And there's an interesting shot of William walking down a street in Notting Hill as the seasons change around him. I don't think I've ever seen a transition sequence done quite that way before.Ultimately, the success or failure of Notting Hill will be determined by whether viewers buy the central relationship. And, while there's something there, it's not really enough to fill up a two hour movie. As an antidote to big budget, effects-driven films like The Mummy and The Phantom Menace, Notting Hill does an adequate job, but this isn't one of those landmark romantic comedies that dozens of subsequent movies will seek to emulate.I hate romantic comedies. I'm a romantic guy and certainly am all for romance but there is a certain element to a lot of the romantic comedies that are coming out lately that I find very stale or at least very problematic. They aren't subtle or even smart; many times, we don't believe the two people who end up together or their motivations in coming together. This was especially evident in "You've Got Mail", a movie where Tom Hanks's mega-bookstore owner put Meg Ryan's little children's bookstore out of business, effectively not only crushing her, but closing the history of generations, since the children's bookstore had been in her family for ages. And yet, in the end, they fall in love with each other. I'm sorry, but I don't believe it.Julia Roberts looks to become the queen of romantic comedies and she certainly deserves that title. She has picked two films now that are romantic comedies, but they are smart, subtle and do remarkably fresh things with what I feel is a very tired genre. "My Best Friends Wedding" was a fantastically smart, light comedy that had a thrilling energy to it and great performances. "Notting Hill" is a way different film for the most part, but it still contains a lot of the same elements; very smart, witty and literate dialogue combined with some very colorful characters who have been fully written and fully realized. Hugh Grant stars as William, the owner of a small Notting Hill bookstore that is certainly down on his luck; the store is failing when one day, in walks Anna Scott(Roberts), a world famous starlet that is in town promoting her new film. The two have a very cute and funny meeting as Grant's bookstore owner apprehends a shoplifter in the midst of their conversation. There isn't much said or done, but there are some very slight gestures and enjoyable acting that shares with usthe fact that there is certainly more possibilities left in this newly found relationship. The two meet again at various times and what's so nice is that their meetings are everything at once that we need, but in a small package. What that means is that these meetings are smart, sweet and entirely believable, but they don't go for the grand scene, they are twice as effective as that: these meetings build off of small events like William spilling Orange Juice on Anna on the street. Soon enough, William finds himself sneaking into a press conference for Anna's new film in a hilarious sequence where Grant must pretend to be a reporter. It's during scenes like these that are a good example of why I liked Grant so much in this film. Before, he was always funny in sort of a slightly sloppy way, doing his stuttering bit("Uh,um, yes, well, hello.") Here, he's shaped that sort of bit into a sharper, smarter more detailed and interesting performance that combines comedy and a little bit of drama into a far better performance than anything else I've seen him in.We know the steps that the film will take; the two will have a lot of fun together, something will happen to split them apart, then it's only a matter of time before they find one another again. It's through the performances and the very literate screenplay that we're still caring after 120 minutes whether or not these people ever end up together. "Notting Hill" does get a little long during the middle point where it seems to spin over and over, with interesting scenes- but a lot of these scenes don't really help to push the film towards its conclusion; the forward momentum from the smart first half seems to get lost slightly here, but towards the end, we regain the sort of madcap comedy/romance that we're looking for, and the film certainly has an enjoyable final act.The film isn't really a satire or even that much of a look at the sort of privacy and fame issues that the film seems to be going for before it starts. Yes, it certainly has elements that either joke or hint at the reality of showbiz, but it uses these elements to fuel the romantic drama/comedy of the film and it works. I certainly think that this film could have gone down the road of satiring the kind of films that "Anna" does, but I think that the final product here is more successful than that idea would have been. Again, it's all in the performances: Grant is smart, funny and detailed in his performance; Roberts is growing stronger as an actress with every role and she's great here, an excellently played perfomance that combines great timing and sweetness. What I really liked about both of their characters was the fact that a few genuinely believeable flaws were added into the personalities of both and Roberts makes particularly effective use of building these flaws into a very real and memorable character that we can sympathize with because she's not perfect. We're not watching "Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant", we're watching "William and Anna". A lot of films today really don't get that far, convincing us to forget that we're watching stars and become involved in the characters they play. The surrounding characters, especially William's family and roommate(Rhys Ilfans) are very funny and wonderfully written here as well and provide an enjoyably comic background to the proceedings. Really, the biggest thing I didn't care for was the score, full of obvious and predictable songs that basically tell us what we already know that's going on in the film. I would have liked to have seen a less "song-driven" score that would match the subtle, witty charms of the film. All in all I really enjoyed "Notting Hill". Like the characters involved, the film certainly has a couple of flaws, but it's so wonderfully made and greatly acted that you can't help being charmed by it. It's a very smart romantic comedy and one of the year's best films.Five years ago, the writer of TV's Blackadder penned his second film, an undertaking which would ultimately showcase a rising British actor, his stammering, floppy-haired charm, and his knack for plummy enunciation of words like 'excellent' and 'bugger'. It also made Hugh Grant a household name. By the same stage, every one of those households already knew who Julia Roberts was.Two Comic Reliefs And A Blow To Hugh's Credibility later, and they're paired in what is inevitably being described as the Four Weddings sequel. It's not. But similarities are evident, not least of which is Grant's character.Witty, but faintly awkward bachelor Charles has been transported into William, the witty but faintly awkward owner of a travel bookstore in the London district of the title. His bored existence takes a brief, memorable lurch one day when fabulously famous but supposedly incognito film star Anna Scott (Roberts) happens into the shop.Events of dubious likelihood conspire their way to William's nearby house where they exchange a fleeting, confusing kiss. But, despite the wayward memory of flatmate Spike (Rhys Ifans), William and Anna snatch a couple of stolen, romantic evenings later that week - the first of which involving the various reactions of William's friends at a birthday dinner for his sister Honey (Emma Chambers).Whether the movie queen and the ordinary Brit can ever be wholly compatible is what spins out such a slender premise for the two hour running time. That it works is largely down to the charm of both leads.Okay, so Hugh's pretty much just Hugh, but what's the point in having him in a film like this if you're not going to play to his strengths? And Julia, although on familiar territory as far as method acting her character goes, has rarely been better or more gorgeous. They're well-served by another superb script from Curtis, bristling with a steadystream of laugh-out-loud jokes and the sort of dialogue you always wish you were clever enough to come up with in real life. His supporting players - among them Ifans (to great comic value), Gina McKee, Blackadder's excellent Tim McInnerny - aren't perhaps as full as before, but that's just the point: Four Weddings was an ensemble comedy. This isn't. Which is why it's not really a reviewer's place to issue qualitative comparison. Production values are on a par, the writing's as good, but if you must have an overall better-or-worse rating, the only option is to judge for yourself. And at the very least, this film deserves to be seen.。

Can the most famous film star in the world fall for just an ordinary guy?
It’s an old film which showed us a romantic love story. After watching it, I have some feelings to share.Firstly, I think it’s far away from our real world. At least, I never thought I can have such an opportunity to be with a famous star. It is just like a dream. Because they are in different classes. Maybe they cannot share common interests and topics. Their life styles and friends can be different as well. However, it just happened in the film, maybe it is the reason why this film is so attractive and popular. After all, art comes from our lives and higher than lives. But I still insist that equal status as well as perfect match is really significant. Secondly, that two guys, Anna and William, they fall in love at the first sight, which impressed me a lot. Nowadays, plenty of people talk about if they can fall in love at the first sight. It is really a hot topic. I am wondering that what they can figure out just rely on the first sight. But love is an amazing thing indeed. We cannot know what will happen when we fall in love with others. One more thing, William’s pride makes influence. But after struggling, he found that he loved girl very much so he decided to strive for true love. To conclude, true love cannot be affected by time, space and any uncertain factors. Never give up.Finally, William’s sister makes a deep impression on me. She is a brave girl. I like her personality. By the way, the music in the film is pretty good. From my point of view, if the plots would be compact, the film will be prefect.。
Noding Hill Movie ReviewRecently, I had the pleasure of watching the iconic romantic comedy film, "Notting Hill" directed by Roger Michell. Set in the vibrant neighborhood of Notting Hill in London, the movie tells a heartwarming story about love, fate, and the trials and tribulations that come with it.The film revolves around the lives of William Thacker, played by the talented Hugh Grant, and Anna Scott, portrayed by the beautiful Julia Roberts. William is a humble, ordinary bookstore owner, leading a simple and uneventful life. On the other hand, Anna is a world-renowned Hollywood actress who is constantly surrounded by fame and glamour.Their paths unexpectedly cross one day when Anna walks into William's bookstore. From their first encounter, there is an instant spark between them, despite the stark contrast in their backgrounds and lifestyles. The audience is captivated by the chemistry and subtle nuances in their blossoming relationship, questioning whether two individuals from such different worlds can ever find lasting happiness together. One of the film's strengths lies in its ability to strike a balance between comedy and romantic moments. The well-written script, penned by Richard Curtis, injects humor into the film through witty dialogues and hilarious situations. Hugh Grant's impeccable comic timing shines throughout the story, leaving the audience in stitches with his charmingly awkward demeanor. However, "Notting Hill" is not just a light-hearted comedy; it also delves deep into the complexities of human emotions. The film explores themes of vulnerability, rejection, and the fear of losing oneself in the pursuit of love. Both William and Anna are confronted with the challenges of maintaining their individual identities while being swept away by the intensity of their feelings for each other. The movie's setting in the picturesque neighborhood of Notting Hill adds to its charm. The vibrant colors of the area and the energetic atmosphere make it feel like a character in itself. The filmmakers beautifully capture the essence of this diverse neighborhood, showcasing its multiculturalism and the eclectic mix of personalities that call it home. Not only does "Notting Hill" entertain, but it also serves as a reminder that love knows no boundaries. It encourages us to embrace the unpredictability of life and to take chances on love, even when the odds seem stacked against us. The film reminds us that love can be found in the most unexpected places and that it is worth fighting for, no matter the obstacles. The performances in "Notting Hill" are truly remarkable, bringing the characters to life and making them relatable to the audience. Hugh Grant's portrayal of William is endearing and authentic, capturing the essence of an ordinary person caught up in extraordinary circumstances. Julia Roberts delivers a stellar performance as Anna, effortlessly embodying the complexities of a famous actress struggling to find love and meaningful connections. The supporting cast also deserves recognition for their contributions to the film. Rhys Ifans, playing William's eccentric roommate Spike, provides delightful comic relief with his outrageous antics. Emma Chambers, as William's quirky sister Honey, adds a touch of eccentricity and warmth to the story. The chemistry between the cast members elevates the film, making the relationships and interactions feel genuine and heartfelt. In conclusion, "Notting Hill" is a timeless romantic comedy that has left an indelible mark on the genre. Its relatable characters, witty dialogue, and enchanting storyline make it a film that can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages. Through its exploration of love, identity, and the complexities of relationships, the movie leaves us with a renewed belief in the power of true love. So, if you're looking for a feel-good movie that will put a smile on your face and warm your heart, "Notting Hill" is an absolute must-watch.。
It may be a paradox to say that a film can sparkle slowly, yet that's the only way I can describe this charming romantic comedy. The star(dom)-crossed lovers don't know that they are Meant For Each Other ... yes, this is the standard RomCom setup. But the -way- they don't know? That is put across in a most British and deliberate pace and setting. And it makes the ending that we all know is coming gather color and charm.
"Notting Hill" takes over a third of its running time to show William (Hugh Grant) as he is immersed in his daily life, wanting to be supportive of his friends, yet searching for his own inner life. The five closest friends all show something he lacks: "happy" conformity, a loving marriage transcending obstacles, a sister who takes bold risks for finding love, and a roommate that sees through pretense and says so (and, yes, is delightfully vulgar).Notting Hill用了1/3的时间来表现William(由Hugh Grant饰演)的日常生活,他专注于想要对他的朋友们有所支持,而不寻求丰富他自己的精神生活。

别人眼中你是goddess也好,不过是“我”眼里为我捧上breakfast in bed的lovely girl, lovelier today;别人眼里一事无成double stupidest git,是可以“will make me happy for the rest of my life”而且有brilliant prospects的artist,这就是电影的道理吗?so true love is just a tiny hiccup,we will figure it out,or we wont。
still worth a try,isnt it?julia实在太美,那双大眼睛啊那个灿烂大嘴巴!

At the end of the story, they had a happy ending. As the most of people expected, they got married. Generally speaking , the film is pretty touching .In a quiet small town ,there take place so romantic love story and they who love each other gained happiness!
Notting Hill
My feeling of the film Notting Hill
In the Notting Hill , I think a lot when I watched at the first time . As far as I am concerned,I couldn’t believe falling in love at the first sight.I do not mean that two people who are different social status can not build love affairs . Because I can not find out any sign of love ,just relying on one sight.
At the beginning of the story ,much to my confused, the girl kissed the man suddenly.Did she only want to express her thank,or had she fellen in love at the first sight with the man? I don’t know.
No matter who you are, no matter what you do, no matter how famous you are ,and no matter how ordinary you are,if you had fallen in love with somebody ,you are only a common people ,you want the people you love to love you, just so!
what impressed me most is that they said their unfortune out only for a piece of cake! No one is always lucky, such as the couple, the woman is diseased, even they can’t give birth to a baby. However, they are optimistic, and all have a positive attitude to the life.
I remember especially the actress says finally: "I
am only an ordinary girl, stand in front of a boy that she loves asking him to love her. " how simple it is,we all moved deeply.
