教学过程 Period 1
Step1. Learning aims.
Show the learning aims to the Ss.
Step2. Revision and warming up.
Ask two students to stand in front of the class. Then ask the other Ss: What does he/ she look like? What is he like? Encourage the Ss to give the right statements. Then collect the words to describe people.
Ask the Ss to fi nish 1a using the description words. Read the words aloud. Step2. Lead-in and presentation.
As time goes on, we are changing every day. For example, we’re growing taller and heavier. Our hair is longer and longer day by day .Now think about your changes in the past years. Show the following expressions to the Ss.
used to be + adj. 过去常常是… used to do 过去常常做… It’s easy to put t he expressions into use. Look at th e following examples. Then read and translate them.
She used to be short. I used to like basketball.
She used to smoke, didn’t she? Yes, she did.
I didn’t use to like English.
Step3. Self check.
1.Do listening work. Ask the Ss to read the instructions and sentences
in 1b. Then listen to the recording about Bob and his friends. 2.Play the recording for the first time, listen and find out how Bob
feels about his friends’ changes. Check the answers with the Ss.
3.For the second listening, please p ay attention to the changes of his
friends. Write down the key words you hear and fill in the blanks.
Check the answers with them.
4.Look at the picture in 1b and make conversations about Bob and his
friends.
Eg. A: M ario used to be short.
B: Yes, he did. Now he’s tall.
