英语作文(媒体对人的影响)(5篇范文)第一篇:英语作文(媒体对人的影响)There is no doubt that the mass media can influence the way that children’s behave. Moreover, it seems that people are spending more and more time watching some sort of visual entertainment, whether it is television, a video tape or a DVD.Therefore, the effects of the media cannot be ignored. One obvious effect of the these media is that watching them induces people to buy certain products.Television advertising is widespread and, nowadays, even movie theaters permit advertisements.Another way TV and the movies affect people is that they give people either a broader view of the world or a distorted one, depending on what type of program they watch. Those who watch news and educational program can learn many new things while those who watch primarily entertainment shows may come to believe that most people in the world possess great wealth and good looks. It may make them become dissatisfied with their own lives. Finally, perhaps the most susceptible viewers are children, who may be unable to tell fact from fiction and may try to imitate acts that they see on TV or in the movies. With the every-increasing popularity of video entertainment, society must pay attention to these effects.Television and movies, while entertaining and informative, cannot take the place of real experience.

Exposure to international media, such as TV, film and magazine, has a significant impact on the local culture. What do you think the impact has been? Do you agree that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
Nowadays, the trend of international media overwhelming worldwide has been a heated social issue in debate. Personally, I think exposure to the global media has substantial influences on the local country, and its overall impact is negative, to the cultural extent.Firstly, the main impact of international media on the local culture is that this trend is reshaping and substituting traditional elements, specifically, encompassing patterns of behaviors, religious beliefs, values, customs, food, clothing, lifestyle, social norms and morals, sports, arts and architectures. For example, in China today, cheongsam, traditional silk-made clothes of females, has been gradually replacedwith the western-style dresses, jeans, tailored suits and trendy fashions, due to the advertisement campaigns of international famous brands on the Internet or global fashion magazines. Another typical example is the change on leisure activities. Compared with Chinese traditional exercise like Tai Chi Quan, a kind of kungfu with slow movement, pictures and videos about foreign extreme games on the Internet and Hollywood movies are more impressive and attractive. Expectedly, skateboarding, rock climbing and bungee jumping have been the most favored outdoor activities among the youth. What is more, this trend is risky, for the reason that such cultural invasion will endanger the survival of local culture. In a multi-cultural society, the local culture always fades, because of the high attraction of foreign ones. For example, during the process of cultural mergence, a whole China is monopolized with the exotic cultural items, from food of MacDonald to movies of Hollywood, from fashions of Paris to animations of Japan. In a long term, there would be a misunderstanding among the public that the global pop culture is superior to the local culture in China. Adversely, young generations would fail to respect and appreciate their own culture. In a long term, the national identities of China will go into extinction, because of the lack of popularity and protection. In conclusion, this trend causes cultural mixture, replacement, competition, as well as the possibility of the death of the local culture. Therefore, the international media should be restricted, in order to keep the diversity of cultures.。

It is increasingly true that individuals are bombarded with a wealth of news information from text massages, websites and other mass media, which, in my point of view will trigger more undesirable outcomes than the temporary rosy picture it brings. The lack of long term concentration and distraction are two of the problems that dwarf many advantages the newsmedia bring. Due to the innovation and development of technology, we are more easily to be informed with non-stop news every moment. The news, which is broadcasted frequently, covers a wide range of information which might be too trivial and fragmentary. Although it may hallucinate those who are informed with the news that they are more connected to the world, the recipients are also likely to be put into a dilemma where they can hardly apply themselves to completing some task requiring consistent focus.Another drawback the news media generate is that many news media are profit-oriented, which means their ultimate goal is to seek the maximum revenue. In order to seize the attention and arouse the interest of many viewers or audiences, the news media are likely to circulate more negative news concerning some violence, criminal cases and disasters, thereby disseminating some adverse values to people’s life.It is of course true that the news media are not to be blamed in every perspective. In some ways, news media can bring more fairness and justice to public’s life because they can help to expose some immoral or illegal dirty tricks to the supervision of the whole society. For example, the power of government can be functioned more soundly and some basic rightcan be guaranteed if news media keep an eye on authorities.

media
news media

Some employers think that formal academic qualifications are more important than life experiences and personal qualities when they look for an employee. Why is it the case? Is it a positive or negative development?
结论:国家可以出台相关的法律法规related laws and regulations should be constituted,媒体应该进行自我审查impose auto-censorship,来规范媒体和记者的行为。
I think the news media mainly plays two important roles in modern society –providing information and influencing public opinion – and I think its influence is generally positive.
Obviously, the news media provides people with vast amounts of information in various forms. We can access it by listening to the radio, reading newspapers and magazines, watching television and by surfing the Internet. The ability to access news media is important for individuals and
organizations because we make many decisions based on the news provided to us. Some of these decisions are mundane. We check the weather forecast to see whether we should take an umbrella to work. Other news, such as that about the business world, could influence whether we invest our savings in certain companies listed on the stock exchange.
The news is often presented to us in certain ways, using specific words to try to control our feelings and thoughts. This can be the main negative influence of the news media. Very often, the news media portrays people in simplistic ways, giving us some facts, but not the whole story. In the USA, some news media tends to support the Republicans whilst others tend towards the Democrats and the portrayal of individuals can reflect this. This is somewhat inevitable, because the editors, journalists and owners of the news media have opinions and biases. So, I think that it would be better if people checked news stories from different sources instead of only using one source.
Despite the fact that the news media can report events incorrectly or with bias, I think that the general influence on society is good. More factual information gives us the chance to make better decisions, both in our personal lives
and in our working lives.。
