The documentary Born in China was shot in the Qing-hai Tibet Plateau(青藏高原)and shows animals’ lives during different seasons.
It not only brings to audiences the lives of animals that are seldom seen in the wild—giant pandas and Tibetan antelopes (藏羚羊), for example—but also shows traditional Chinese culture. The film mainly describes life and love within three animal families—giant pandas, golden monkeys and snow leopards.
A symbol of China, the giant panda is both black and white. Its body is thought to show yin and yang. The panda’s tender nature also shows how yin and yang, when perfectly balanced, lead to peace and harmony(和谐). This can be seen in the documentary when a giant panda mother guides her baby to gradually look for independence and explore the world.
Monkeys always have strong personalities. The best example might be the Monkey King, a character from the popular novel Journey to the West. On the one hand, he stands for impatience. But on the other hand, he shows cleverness and energy. Born in China follows a 2-year-old golden monkey who feels like his life has been changed for the worse by his new baby sister. He quickly joins up with a group of other free-spirited monkeys, but finally returns to his family and understands the meaning of responsibility.
A mother snow leopard faces the challenge of raising her two children in a harsh(严酷的) environment. The leopards, known for their rapid attacks and quick footwork, have inspired a form of pictographic boxing (象形拳) in Shaolin martial arts.
“Born in China is a means to show Chinese traditional culture.” Director Lu told the Binhai Times newspaper. “From five-animal exercises to pictographic boxing. Chinese people have learned from wild animals since ancient times.

Do you check your mobile phones often when you have a meal with others? And have you ever taken a photo first before you enjoy a big meal? If you look around in restaurants, you will notice many people break the table manners. Why don’t many people care about table manners now?
A recent study found that 38 percent of those interviewed thought it was acceptable to use their phones while eating out. At the same time, the increasing number of the signs of phone ban (禁止) in restaurants shows that restaurants don’t welcome it.
However, some see the growing use of cellphones as a sign that manners change along with the development of our society.
“Manners change,” said Dianna, who is a writer of a food website. “What we consider improper isn’t set in stone.” She points out that the other “rules” have become outdated (过时的) nowadays. For example, few people are saying “Sir” and “Ma’am” now. And she thinks it’s meaningful to let the phones help us remember the wonderful memories of dining.
Yes, traditional manners are yet another thing being redefined (重新定义) by the youth. “Younger people are growing up in a world with more flexible (灵活的) rules, and this spreads to the dining table,” said Daniel Levine, director of The Avant-Guide Institute.
“I believe the number of people who break dining ‘rules’ increases because people go out and eat more often now,” said Diane Gottsman, owner of a restaurant. “Years ago, people stayed at home and sat around the family table. Today, more people are joining work market, which makes it more affordable for eating out. With new chance comes the possibility for more dining problems.”
( )31.What did the research find?
A. Many people accepted using phones at the table.
B. Most of the people in the research used phones while eating.
C. Few restaurants took action on phones’using while eating.
( )32.Why was the example of “Sir” and “Ma’ma” mentioned?
A. To show modern people are becoming impolite.
B. To explain dining rules in restaurants in the old days.
C. To make the opinion “table manners change through time”clear.
( )33.According to Diane Gottsman, people forget their dining manners more often because______.
A.they think they are not important
B. they grow up with flexible rules
C. they have more chances to eat out
( )34.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A. Younger people think traditional manners are outdated.
B. Dianna thinks it’s all right to use phones at the dining table.
C. Diane Gottsman thinks the dining rules need to be redefined.
( )35. What’s the passage mainly about?
A. Introductions of changes in table manners.
B. Opinions of young people about table manners.
C. Discussions on the reasons for the changing table manners.

It's reported that not getting enough sleep can cause problems in a student's life. Many students feel sleepy at school, so they get lower grades than those who get enough sleep. Many scientists suggest that middle school students should have no less than eight hours' sleep at night. As for the students who feel nervous and forgetful, most of them don't get enough sleep at night. Why aren't students getting enough sleep? Most students have one of the following things: too much homework, a mobile phone, or a computer in their bedrooms. As a result, many students can't go to sleep before eleven p. m.. but they have to get up early for school the next day.
