Ⅱ. 从方框中选出能够填入空白处的合适的连接词
1. which。

which引导非限制性定语从句，代表前面整个句子在从句中作主语。

2. that。

that与前面的it was一起构成强调句，强调时间状语until ten o’clock。

3. where。

把It was和空格去掉后可以看出句子不完整了，the theatre前面加上at/in后
句子才合理，所以此句不是强调句。

句中it指代前句中的the building，空白处应填where，代替先行词theatre在定语从句中作地点状语。

句意：它就是林肯遇害的那家剧院。

4. which, that。

第一空填which，引导定语从句，代替先行词restaurant在定语从句中
作in的宾语；第二空填that，与前面的Could it be一起构成强调句。

句意：你是在我们昨天吃饭的那家饭店落下了钥匙和钱包吗？
5. since。

表示从since 从句谓语动作（画这张画）发生以后到现在经过的一段时间，译
为“自从......以来已多久了”。

句意：我几年前画的这张美丽的画。

（从画这张画到现在都几年了。

6. before。

表示从现在起到before从句谓语动作发生要经过的一段时间,译为“多长时间
后才会/就会做…”。

句意：要过几年我才会画这张美丽的画。

7. before。

表示从过去某一时间到before从句谓语动作发生所经过的一段时间,译为“多
长时间后才/就做了…”句意：几年后我才画了这张美丽的画。

8. that。

强调句。

原句是：I have painted this beautiful picture for years. 句意：这张
美丽的画我都画了好几年了。

9. that。

that引导主语从句，是真正的主语，it是形式主语。

10. that。

that引导宾语从句，是真正的宾语，因为有宾语补足语important，用it作形式
宾语，而that从句后置。
