In fact, it was because of his enthusiasm in nature that Darwin gave up his medical studies at the University of Edinburgh. In 1827, he dropped out and quit school, leading his father to say that he cared for nothing but shooting, dogs and rats catching.In a second attempt at school, Darwin went to Christ's College at the University o£ Cambridge. In 1831, he realized that this wasn't for him either, as he found it impossible for him to focus on his studies.
