It pulled its dripping wet head out of the river, shook off the water in a big spray (getting my dad all wet, which made us all laugh), and lumbered off into the trees. We stayed on the trail, keeping our respectful distance, but were able to observe the magnificent animal for several more minutes as it slowly ambled away, disappearing into the forest.The whole experience of watching that grizzly bear fishing in the river was just breathtaking. I had seen grizzlies before at the zoo of course, but seeing one in the wild like that was an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience. I kept replaying the whole scene over and over again in my mind - the bear dipping its huge head in the water, its powerful arms swiping at the fish, the funny way it shook itself dry spraying my dad.
