(二)多关注英语学困生。
长期的教学实践使我深刻体会到:教师和蔼可亲的微笑,善解人意的目光出现在教室时,就像给学生吃了一颗定心丸。
而学困生常常被遗忘在教室的角落,个别教师还往往对他们冷眼相待,这又怎能激起他们学习英语的兴趣?因此,教师要多“看看学困生的眼神”、“时而巡视与课间靠近学困生”等,给他们期待的态势,产生暗示性的激励,使他们体会到自身的存在和价值,重树学好英语的信心。

怎样提高学困生学习英语的兴趣

众所周知,“兴趣是最好的老师”。
无论学习哪一科,兴趣都起着至关重要的作用,英语也不例外。
许多学生英语成绩总也提不高,归根结底,就是对英语学习缺乏兴趣。
教师在课堂上能否调动学生的学习积极性,能否使学生对英语产生浓厚的兴趣,是教学成败的关键。
因此,教师要力求课堂气氛和谐、轻松。
师生关系融洽和谐,学习气氛轻松愉快,能使学生以愉快的心情学习、思考并获取知识,有利于培养学习兴趣,提高学习效率。

在社会不断发展的今天,英语变得越来越重要,学好英语也成为了一门必修课。
然而学生的英语成绩总是不如人意,让人颇为头疼。
基于我所教学生的学习基础和现有状况,我总结了以下一些提高他们英语学习兴趣的方法。
一、查找分析原因,对准问题入手
在我们学校,有很多“留守学生”,他们大部分都是由其爷爷奶奶照顾,由于无法享受到正常的家庭教育和关怀,他们普遍存在着心里,性格缺陷和道德品行等方面的问题。
这些学生大都性格内向、孤僻,并伴有自卑心理,导致学习成绩落后,尤其英语成绩特差的主要原因。
针对以上情况,老师应该主动找他们谈心,在生活上给予关心,并动员家长主动过问、关心自己孩子的生活和学习情况。
帮助其树立正确的人生观,明确学习的重要性,并主动联系她的父母要多关心孩子的生活和学习情况。
经过多方的努力,最终,学生的性格等各发方面都会发生根本改变,英语学习成绩也会逐步得到提高。
二、采取多种形式激发和培养这些学生的学习兴趣。
心理学研究表明,学习兴趣支配着学生的注意力,浓厚的学习兴趣使学生在学习活动中注意力集中而稳定;同时,兴趣又调节着情感,浓厚的学习兴趣使学生表现出巨大的学习热情。
而在以往的教学中都存在着一个弊端:课堂上总是表现为我说你听,我读你跟,充斥着不带感情色彩的句型转换,不明不理的死记硬背。
久而久之,不少学生对英语学习产生了"苦"的感觉,学生的学习兴趣就渐渐消退。
针对这一情况,在教学中采取以下激趣方法:
1.开展“一帮一”活动,努力提高学生学习英语的兴趣
由于大部分学生的英语成绩较差,为了激发他们学习英语的兴趣,把班上英语成绩好的学生与他们结成帮扶对象,使他们享受到大家庭的温暖。
然后把他们编排成学习小组并产生学习小组长,晚自习不定期的进行抽查和辅导,从而激发他们学习英语的兴趣。
2.开展以情激趣和情景激趣的教学活动,学生学习英语的兴趣。
兴趣是学好英语的最好老师,教师在课堂上能否调动学生的学习积极性,能否使学生对英语产生浓厚的兴趣,是教学成败的关键。
因此,教师要力求课堂气氛和谐、轻松。
师生关系融洽和谐,学习气氛轻松愉快,能使学生以愉快的心情学习、思考并获取知识,有利于培养学习兴趣,提高学习效率。
比如用简单的日常英语让学生先开口敢说,如,What is your name ?, How are you? ,Are you interested in English?,想方设法创设一种民主、和谐、轻松、自然的氛围,用亲切、和谐的态度,带给他们学习勇气和信心。
最终他们将树立学习英语的信心,积极主动地参与课堂活动,克服困难,英语成绩得到进步。
真正达到了“亲其师,信其道“的境界。
成功的英语教学应在课内创设更多的情景,让学生有机会运用学到的语言材料,巩固其知识。
英语新教材给予我们提供了大量的情景。
如交际情景有:问候、介绍、致谢、约会、道别、邀请、送礼、称赞、祝贺、欢迎等。
实用的生活情景有:寻人寻物、电话交流、问路与指路、借物与归还、购物和用餐、出游和运动、看病就医以及社会实践等等。
在教学中我根据教材内容设计情景,让学生扮演不同的角色进行语言实践,将枯燥的内容寓于有趣的情景教学之中,将课堂变成了生动活泼的英语交际场所。
在教学牛津英语八年级(下)Unit 4 的Part One 时,以同桌两人为一个小组,一个扮演Hobo,另一个扮演Eddie,让学生根据对话内容进行情景对话。
先让Hobo拿着一个话筒站在讲台前一边唱一边跳。
其他学生也随着歌声唱了起来,这是整个教室气氛活跃起来。
Eddie问全体学生“Why is Hobo holding a microphone ?”这是有的学生说:“He is going to be a singer.”还有的学生说:“He is going to be a famous pop star”.最后Eddie说:“ He is going to be a host of a charity show.He is going to be a good host of a charity show ,Only if he sleeps less during the day ” 。
整个教学过程虽有点乱,且个别学生扮演得甚至比较“疯狂”,但他们那份全身心投入的劲让人感动。
交换角色表演之后,我发现几乎所有学生都能背诵这个对话,这难道不是创设情景的魅力吗?
当然,英语教学形式多种多样,如听命令做动作,根据特征描述猜人物、猜物品、猜动作、猜位置或猜单词等。
总之,只要我们处处留心,善于动脑,就一定能设计出更多更好紧扣教材,知识性、趣味性强,为学生所喜欢的教学游戏,使英语课堂教学永远充满激情与欢乐。
三、运用激励机制,提高教育教学质量
我们相信,每一个学生都蕴藏着极大的学习潜能,每一个学生都有自己丰富而独特的内心世界。
教师应该与学生做朋友,相互沟通,平等相处,相互尊重。
在教学上我尽可能地为学生提供学习空间,运用激励机制,让学生在不同的学习过程中获得乐趣,获得满足感和成功感。
通过长期的实践,我认为运用好各种激励机制能更好地提高教学质量。
1.目标激励,能唤起学生探求目标的兴趣与求知欲
教学目标是课堂教学的出发点,是师生共同活动的指向。
我们教师应首先使学生明确学习的具体目标,激发学生主动参与学习的求知欲。
初中学生往往对篇幅较长的课文缺乏应有
的耐心,难以认真细读,这就要求我们教师在细心钻研教材的同时,认真思考如何设计教学目标。
例如:在教牛津英语八年级(上)Unit 4“Wild animals”一课时,教师可以问:"What actions can We take to protect wild animals?"先让学生展开思维进行大胆想象、回答,然后再让学生从课文中找答案,这样可以让学生在阅读课文时去理解课文内容,知道为了保护动物、保护环境使我们的世界变得更美丽,我们应该做什么,我们不应该做什么。
学生明确了学习目标,就产生了探求目标的动机与兴趣,这就是教学目标的导向作用和激励作用。
2.质疑激励,能发展学生的发散思维,增强创新意识
在平时的英语教学中,教师应多角度、多方位设置多种思考题,发展学生横向、类比、逆向、联想等发散思维,使学生不单单停留在理解和掌握所学内容的表层,而且能够利用现学知识,结合已学知识去创造、探索,培养发散思维,增强创新意识。
如在学习"Asking the way"时,教师可引导学生看图片或幻灯片,设置一些疑问,"Where is …?" "Which is the way to …?""How can I get to …?""Which bus shall I take?" "Where is the bus stop?"鼓励学生认真思考,积极回答问题,引导学生的发散思维和创新意识。
3.情感激励,能激发学生的学习热情
情感是人对客观事物所持的态度和体验。
情感是智力发展的翅膀,积极的情感是人的认识活动的内驱力。
在教学中我们会发现:有些学生对自己感兴趣的内容学起来津津有味,而对不感兴趣的东西则听而不闻。
还有些学生,出于对教师的某种成见干脆放弃其所教学的课程;相反,出于感激或敬佩,又常常对某教师所教学的课程产生一种莫名的学习动力。
由此可见,情感是教育不可缺少的中介,是教学效果的制约因素。
师生间只有情感相通、和谐才能使学生的学习心理处于最佳状态,达到在愉快的气氛中获取知识的目的。
所以我们英语教师应利用各种手段来积极影响学生的心理活动,通过与学生的情感交流,用高尚的人格魅力吸引学生、感染学生、激发学生的学习热情,使学生在轻松愉快的氛围中学习和掌握知识,训练技能,让每堂课都充满欢声笑语,使优等生因成功而笑,使学困生在愉快和谐的气氛中,克服困难,积极进取。
总之,兴趣是学好英语的保证,兴趣是学好英语的最好老师,能否激发和培养学生学习英语的兴趣,是英语教学的关键。
而激发和培养学生学习英语的兴趣应贯彻于整个英语教学之中,持之以恒,坚持不懈,寓情于教,使学生感到学习是一种乐趣,而不是一种负担。
这样,在整个英语课堂教学过程中,教师要运用多种激励机制,充分调动全体学生学习英语的积极性、创造性,使学生爱学英语、乐学英语,从而提高英语教学质量。
