同时,4月备考的同学一定会有一场AB(2014年第二次AB卷就发生在4月12日)。

●Task1如果捐钱,你会选择捐给谁?an environmental group ,a local library ,or an animal secure center?Sample response:Well, I would prefer to donate the money to an animal secure center. There are two main reasons. First of all, I’m the person who loves animals very much and would like to do something helpful to them. I had kept two dogs, a cat , some goldfishes and six parrots as my favorite pets at home.I tried all means to offer them a warm home. In return, they also brought me much happiness. Secondly, there are many great organizations like animal secure center where homeless or injured animals can be taken good care of. These organizations are also local charities. In order to rescue and help more animals, I’m willing to donate money and even assist these charities to raise money.●Task2上大学之前是否应该有work experience.Response tips:Pros:①Students with work experience feel more confident than those without any work experience.②Necessary work experience helps students prepare better in getting into the university they dream of.Cons:①Students should not really spend so much time finding and doing just very simple part-time jobs. It’s a waste of time. They’d better focus on their study.②Most work experience they got has nothing to do with their major they are going to take in the university.●Task 3建议学校开办psychology department的magazine。

1. Which new skill do you want to learn? Learning a musical instrument, flying plane or playing a new sport.
What activity would you be more interested in?What’s the best way to spend your weekends? What’s your favorite sport? What do you do in your spare time (with your friends/with your family member)?
Sample AnswerFor me I prefer to play a new sport, such as swimming. I have rare chances to swim because I wa s growing up inland. So when I have such opportunity I will definitely go to swimming pool. Swim ming in summer is really a good way to avoid heat, relaxing my body and mind, which makes me energetic and vigorous. Also, I think swimming will mould my temperament. I used to be a girl wh o doeseverything in a rush, sometimes even make mistakes. By learning swimming, I may focus on detail s because every swimming stroke needs to be done exactlyotherwise I can’t swim further, just stay where I was. So I will learn how to swim as a new skill.2. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Cell phone improved our life.

Task 1: If you are about to make a donation to a community, which one would you prefer? City library, animal rescue center or environmental organization.
例如选择library,可以说图书馆提升社区人文环境:比如give people more books to read->make people wiser或provide a better reading environment->attract more people to library->enrich the spiritual life of residents。
个人角度:我非常喜欢小动物,很难忍受看到他们在街头露宿的惨状(sometimes when I see those homeless animals I feel very sad for them),希望能够在收容所有更多投入,能够拯救更多的动物。

A still life (plural still lifes) is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural (food, flowers, dead animals, plants, rocks, or shells) or man-made (drinking glasses, books, vases, jewelry, coins, pipes, and so on). With origins in the Middle Ages and Ancient Graeco-Roman art, still-life painting emerged as a distinct genre and professional specialization in Western painting by the late 16th century, and has remained significant since then. Still life gives the artist more freedom in the arrangement of elements within a composition than do paintings of other types of subjects such as landscape or portraiture. Early still-life paintings, particularly before 1700,。

Do you agree or disagree with the followingstatement? It is better to finish a project completely andthen do another project than do two or moreprojects at the same time.

智课网TOEFL备考资料2015年3月28日托福阅读真题及答案解析机经词汇:attest to= provide evidence ofseverely=very seriouslypermanentsimultaneously=at the same timereadily=easilyreflect=indicateeploit=make use ofaccumulate=build upcurious=strangeties=connection第一篇:辫状河(braided stream)考生回忆:本文主要说了沙洲(bar)、冲积扇(alluvial fan)、三角洲(delta) 这些辫状河是如何形成的。
Running Water on Mars.Running Water on MarsPhotographic evidence suggests that liquid water once existed in great quantity on the surface of Mars. Two types of flow features are seen: runoff channels and outflow channels. Runoff channels are found in the southern highlands. These flow features are extensive systems—sometimes hundreds of kilometers in total length—of interconnecting, twisting channels that seem to merge into larger, wider channels. They bear a strong resemblance to river systems on Earth, and geologists think that they are dried-up beds of long-gone rivers that once carried rainfall on Mars from the mountains down into the valleys. Runoff channels on Mars speak of a time 4 billion years ago (the age of the Martian highlands), when the atmosphere was thicker, the surface warmer, and liquid water widespread.Outflow channels are probably relics of catastrophic flooding on Mars long ago. They appear only in equatorial regions and generally do not form extensive interconnected networks. Instead, they are probably the paths taken by huge volumes of water draining from the southern highlands into the northern plains. The onrushing water arising from these flash floods likely also formed the odd teardrop-shaped "islands”(resembling the miniature versions seen in the wet sand of our beaches at low tide) that have been found on the plains close to the ends of the outflow channels. Judging from the width and depth of the channels, the flow rates must have been truly enormous—perhaps as much as a hundred times greater than the 105 tons per second carried by the great Amazon river. Flooding shaped the outflow channels approximately 3 billion years ago, about the same times as the northern volcanic plains formed. Some scientists speculate that Mars may have enjoyed an extended early Period during which rivers, lakes, and perhaps even oceans adorned its surface. A 2003 Mars Global Surveyor image shows what mission specialists think may be a delta—a fan-shaped network of channels and sediments where a river once flowed into a larger body of water, in this case a lake filling a crater in the southern highlands. Other researchers go even further, suggesting that the data provide evidence for large open expenses of water on the earlyMartian surface. A computer-generated view of the Martian north polar region shows the extent of what may have been an ancient ocean covering much of the northern lowlands. The Hellas Basin, which measures some 3,000 kilometers across and has a floor that lies nearly 9 kilometers below the basin's rim, is another candidate for an ancient Martian sea. These ideas remain controversial. Proponents point to features such as the terraced "beaches” shown in one image, which could conceivably have been left behind as a lake or ocean evaporated and the shoreline receded. But detractors maintain that the terraces could also have been created by geological activity, perhaps related to the geologic forces that depressed the Northern Hemisphere far below the level of the south, in which case they have nothing whatever to do with Martian water. Furthermore, Mars Global Surveyor data released in 2003 seem to indicate that the Martian surface contains too few carbonate rock layers—layers containing compounds of carbon and oxygen—that should have been formed in abundance in an ancient ocean. Their absence supports the picture of a cold, dry Mars that never experienced the extended mild period required to form lakes and oceans. However, more recent data imply that at least some parts of the planet did in fact experience long periods in the past during which liquid water existed on the surface.Aside from some small-scale gullies (channels) found since 2000, which are inconclusive, astronomers have no direct evidence for liquid water anywhere on the surface of Mars today, and the amount of water vapor in the Martian atmosphere is tiny. Yet even setting aside the unproven hints of ancient oceans, the extent of the outflow channels suggests that a huge total volume of water existed on Mars in the past. Where did all the water go? The answer may be that virtually all the water on Mars is now locked in the permafrost layer under the surface, with more contained in the planet's polar caps.
