如何培养(关爱)留守儿童学习英语的兴趣教育是随着教育对象的变化而变化的,随着社会经济和城市化的发展,我们的教育对象中出现了留守儿童这部分群体,随着队伍的庞大,尤其在农村,他们的教育也日益显现。
起初,对于我这位一直从事农村英语教育工作者来说,并没有引起太多的关注,但是留守儿童数量的增多,英语对他们越来越显得困难,已经严重影响到这部分同学学习的全面发展。
英语这门课有它的特殊性,因此我才想着需要通过对这部分同学的了解调研,在自己的班级,实施英语自主学习的培养。
随着调查的深入,让我感到,由于留守儿童亲情的缺失,同时又缺少关爱,导致他们对学习兴趣不高,而英语学科的特殊性,更让他们是处于被动的学习。
基于此我才希望留守儿童要有独立自主的产生对英语学习活动的能力,又需要通过确立学习目标,自我监控和自我评价等认知策略来实现的。
英语自主学习的特点,决定了它能够提高留守儿童的英语学习效率、效果和水平,进而对课堂教学起促进作用使他们由被动学习英语向主动学习转变,由传授式学习向探究式学习转变。
同时通过学校与家庭的结合,寻找适合他们学习英语的方法。
著名教育家叶圣陶认为:“养成习惯贵在躬行实践”。
叶圣陶还说过:“凡是好的态度和好的方法,都要使它成为习惯。
只有熟练得成了习惯,好的态度才能随时发现,好的方法才能随时随地应用,好像出于本性,一辈子用不”。
英语自主学习就是要把被动学习变成主动学习。
构建留守儿童自主学习,提高自主学习能力,是我要在教学中实施的教学模式,同时希望帮助他们实现各科全面发展。
通过问卷调查、监护人家长会,随访、科任教师反馈,了解到留守儿童存在的不良学习习惯主要如下:学习无计划,对自己要求不严、不求上进;学习缺乏激情、懒散,拖拉和应付现象比较严重;意志品质稍差,注意力不能持久,抗干扰能力不强,容易受外界诱惑的影响,学习兴趣易转移到课外;学习效率低,缺乏科学的学习方法和合理的学习安排,很少或者根本没有预习、复习的习惯,没有积极、主动的思考习惯,学习停留在机械记忆的低水平状态,缺乏创新意识和精神,上课时被动接受老师提供的现成答案等。
这些现象,不仅严重影响留守儿童的学习成绩,还容易形成不良个性品质,导致学习困难,变成学困生。
为了全面提高留守儿童的英语成绩,降低英语学困生率,我们需探寻适合留守儿童策略。
调查也发现,留守儿童家庭教育方式,家长的文化程度对英语学习的也有极大的影响。
首先,留守儿童与祖辈生活在一起,“代沟”问题突出,有40%的家长对留守儿童在哪个年级读书、班主任是谁都不知道,70%的留守留守儿童的成绩在中等偏下;2%的家长能经常辅导留守儿童学习,而能对留守儿童进行青春期教育和挫折教育的家长只占3%;其次,留守儿童缺失父母关爱,影响留守儿童健康人格形成;第三,是经济基础决定上层建筑,经济落后,家庭在教育方面的投入很少,留守儿童成长环境很差,留守儿童没有耳濡目染的学习氛围。
第四,留守儿童家长素质普遍较低、学习意识淡薄,将教育重担交付学校,家庭教育行为极为欠缺。
第五,现在的留守儿童是中国第一批在电视机、电脑前长大的留守儿童,他们与父母的理解和沟通越来越少,这就容易形成不健康的心理。
第六,留守儿童英语基础相当薄弱,而且农村家长对留守儿童学习的重视程度及为他们创造的学习环境远远比不上城市家庭。
农村家长对英语这一课程的不重视,他们的学习一直处于被动接受状态,导致他们自主学习的能力不断减弱。
作为英语教育工作者,针对留守儿童的现状和英语学科的特点,我除了在个人备课﹑专研教材﹑改进教学方法等方面加强努力外,还采取了以下一些策略:1. 构建和谐民主的师生关系走进留守儿童心里,和留守儿童交朋友,课余时间多找留守儿童谈心,了解他们的家庭状况、生活情况、父母打工等情况。
帮助他们解决学习、生活、心理困难,做他们的知心朋友。
课堂上多为留守生提供回答、表演、参与的机会,特别鼓励差生的参与,即使一点点优点和进步,我也会及时地加以肯定和表扬,使他们真正地感受到老师的爱护关怀,老师就是他们的良师益友、第二家长。
2. 坚持整体教学与分散教学相结合对于英语基础差的留守儿童,仅仅靠课堂时间四十分钟的学习是远远不够的。
平时就利用业余时间组织这部分留守儿童个别辅导,为他们补差补缺。
具体的做法:在教学一个新单元之前,先把学困生集中起来,让对新的内容进行提前预习,先过好单词关,并通过提问答疑、口头翻译等途径,先帮助这部分留守儿童了解基础知识、重点句型、重点难点,这样他们反而更容易接受,信心大增,从而形成良性循环。
3、注重课内操练与课外积累相结合切实抓好晨读这一环节:英语作为一门第二语言,而农村留守儿童接触英语的机会也不多,而语言要想真的学好,就的大量的输入,不断地练习,然后才能不断输出。
早晨他们头脑清醒,这时让他们大声反复朗读英语句子和课文,不仅能培养他们良好的语感而且有利于英语单词的记忆,因为通过句子记忆单词,反而记得更劳,用的更活。
4.培养留守儿童学困生良好的英语学习习惯坚持四个环节:抓好课前的预习,抓好课堂上的听课,抓好课后的复习,抓好课堂作业与课外作业确保完成作业的质量。
另外在书写﹑口语﹑操练﹑提问及语言行为习惯等方面也要加强对他们的训练与培养。
5.坚持激发留守儿童英语的学习兴趣针对留守儿童活泼好动的心理特点,在英语教学中多采用手中的英语教育资源-图片﹑实物教具﹑录音﹑等多媒体软件,结合我们自身的体态语—手势﹑动作﹑表情等来示范。
还有就是围绕教学内容设计一些游戏,让他们在玩中学,在学中玩,自然而然,学的开心,学的高效。
如何让这些留守儿童真正成为学习的主人,培养他们英语自主学习习惯,我主要从以下几个反面入手。
1.转变教学观念传统课堂教学中教师的任务是教,学生的任务是学。
教师占用大部分课堂教学时间对他们进行语言知识的传授,他们则处于被动地听、记、背、练的苦学中。
虽然我们付出了大量的时间与精力,却收效甚微。
因此,构建以留守儿童为中心的课堂,注重培养他们主动探索知识、主动发现及解决问题的能力。
2.培养自主学习的心理素质要培养自主学习的心理素质,就要激发留守儿童的英语学习动机,也就是要让他们明白为什么要学习英语。
这样才能真正地将留守儿童的“要我学”转变成“我要学”。
其次运用正确的评价机制,要多表扬,多鼓励留守儿童所取得的点滴进步。
只有让留守儿童对英语学习保持一种积极向上的情感,才能更持久地保持学习的动力。
3.培养课前预习和课后复习的良好习惯预习,是为新课学习所做的重要准备工作。
俗话说“学起于思,思源于疑”,通过预习可以让留守儿童带着疑问走进课堂,可以培养留守儿童积极思考,解决问题的能力,甚至还可以培养留守儿童的创新能力。
在准备留守儿童课前预习的导学案时,可以从课标要求的听、说、读、写几个方面来考虑,这样可以使留守儿童的预习任务更加明确,同时根据文章内容的特点,科学合理地制订预习目标。
课后复习能对所学内容起到巩固的效果,课后复习任务的布置要尊重个体差异,分层布置。
这样可以使不同层次的留守儿童获得学习的成就感,保持持久的学习动力。
引导留守儿童扎实做好预习和复习工作,才能帮助留守儿童从被动接受的状态中摆脱出来,真正成为学习的主人。
4、构建科学的课堂教学模式留守学生由于学习习惯不是太好,建立科学的课堂教学模式,并将这种模式持之以恒的坚持下去,让学生明白什么时间要做什么事,怎么做。
一堂新课到底应该怎样上,教学过程怎样安排,个人观点是:①在教学目标或学习目标的统帅下,在学生掌握方法的前提下,学生有一定的时间自主学习。
预习尽量安排在课内,时间应有10分钟左右。
②学生在自主学习后,小组合作交流,形成共识或提出共同的疑惑。
时间应有3分钟以上。
③小组代表在全班展示交流收获,其他同学或分享或提出疑问或解答疑问,形成生生互动,时间应有10分钟左右;教师启发点拨或强调,深化学生的认识,发展学生的思维品质,形成师生互动,时间应有10分钟左右。
④巩固反馈,考察过手情况,这在英语等强调记忆的学科中更重要。
也可安排为拓展延伸的问题,时间应有7分钟左右。
当然①和④不一定在每节课都出现,但在一篇文章或小节的首尾应该有。
当然,还应注意不同课型的不同模式。
5.加强学法引导在英语学科中听、说、读、写能力的培养是至关重要的。
听:多听课文磁带和英文歌曲。
选择的材料要难易适中,每天规定训练听力的时间,无论是5分钟还是10分钟,都要持之以恒。
说:尽可能提供留守儿童说的机会,可以在课堂上安排对话表演或复述课文的活动,也可以举行全校性英语演讲赛、英语会话表演赛或英语故事比赛等。
读:熟读课文可以培养留守儿童的语感和阅读理解能力。
寒暑假时,建议读一本简短的中英文双译的世界名著。
写:培养留守儿童养成良好的书写习惯和写作习惯。
要求留守儿童每周坚持写日记,日积月累留守儿童的英语写作水平将逐步提高。
6.创设自主学习、合作探究的学习氛围①改革课堂教学模式,营造自主学习氛围。
无论采用哪种课堂教学模式,我都从留守儿童的实际情况出发,制订和调整教学策略。
我不断尝试适合本班的“先学后教,当堂训练”教学模式,这种教学模式,是通过培养留守儿童学习英语的独立性、主动性和创造性来激发留守儿童学习英语的兴趣。
在英语课堂中我以任务为中心的教学活动,引导留守儿童积极参与形式多样的交际活动,并及时给予指导和鼓励,使留守儿童充分体验学习的乐趣。
②创建小组学习模式,营造合作探究的学习氛围。
小组合作学习模式,实际上是留守儿童间围绕教学内容共同参与,通过对话、沟通和多种合作活动产生交互影响,以动态生成的方式推进的教学活动过程。
留守儿童间互相帮助,取长补短,共同进步,从而弥补了留守儿童之间的差异。
同时对培养留守儿童的交往技巧、分享合作的态度具有积极的作用。
实践证明,留守儿童如果能在中学阶段养成良好的英语学习习惯,打下扎实的英语基础,对今后的中英语学习,高中阶段乃至终身的英语学习都有着至关重要的作用。
