《The Little Prince》book review

“Love at the first sight

Just one look from your eyes

Just one word from your mouth

My heart was yours

My every dream

I felt joy I felt pain

I am so afraid of losing you

Stars may fall

And the storm will come

You will be in my mind forever

Though I know it is time for farewell

Here I stand with trembling heart

Here I stand with sparkles in my eyes”

This lyric is so charming and moving that I cannot help to listen to it again and again . When I finished read “The Little Prince”it magically appeared in my mind . It is so proper to use the lyric to describe the relationship between the little prince and his rose or with his fox. He fall in love with the rose at the first sight , then a romantic story happened.

Today I do not want to talk about the topic “the children and the grown-ups” as everyone know ,I just want to share my opinion about the two different loves in the novel which is the rose’s immature love and

another is the fox’s understanding and mature love.

Let’s first look at the details with rose and prince.

("Ah! I am scarcely awake. I beg that you will excuse me. My petals are still all disarranged..."

But the little prince could not restrain his admiration:

"Oh! How beautiful you are!"

"Am I not?" the flower responded, sweetly. "And I was born at the same moment as the sun..."

This was the first time that they had met up with each other . However rose showed her extreme arrogant which makes their relationship become fragile.

(The flower coughed. But it was not because she had a cold.

"I have been silly," she said to him, at last. "I ask your forgiveness. Try to be happy..."

He was surprised by this absence of reproaches. He stood there all bewildered, the glass globe held arrested in mid-air. He did not understand this quiet sweetness.

"Of course I love you," the flower said to him. "It is my fault that you have not known it all the while. That is of no importance. But you-- you have been just as foolish as I. Try to be happy... let the glass globe be. I don't want it any more."

"But the wind--"

"My cold is not so bad as all that... the cool night air will do me good.

I am a flower."

"But the animals--"

"Well, I must endure the presence of two or three caterpillars if I wish to become acquainted with the butterflies. It seems that they are very beautiful. And if not the butterflies-- and the caterpillars-- who will call upon me? You will be far away... as for the large animals-- I am not at all afraid of any of them. I have my claws."

And, she showed her four thorns. Then she added:

"Don't linger like this. You have decided to go away. Now go!"

The prince was nearly left her .But she still pretentious, I cannot understand why she would rather tormented him than gentle herself. Maybe only after she did not love him anymore she would stop doing that. Actually, I am a little bit sympathizing the women who are like her.

“She was such a proud flower.”In this dialog, this sentence moved me the most. No matter is soliloquy or comment from the author; it is the way that rose hade her vulnerable.
