职业英语技能大赛 其他类专业组考试真题

职业英语技能大赛 其他类专业组考试真题

职业英语技能大赛其他类专业组考试真题全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Super-Duper English Contest Adventure!Hi there! My name is Jimmy and I'm 10 years old. I really, really love English and I just had the most awesome adventure at this big English contest thingy called the "Professional English Skills Competition for Non-English Majors." It was sooooo much fun!It all started a few months ago when my English teacher, Mrs. Robinson, told our class about this huge English contest happening in our city. She said it was for kids who weren't studying English as their main subject, but who were really good at it anyway. Well, that's totally me! I'm not an English major, but I practice speaking, reading, and writing English every single day because I think it's the coolest language ever. When Mrs. Robinson told us about the contest, she said the winner would get this ginormous trophy and lots of other prizes. Sign me up! I begged my parents to let me enter and after weeks of me bugging them nonstop, they finally said yes. Yippee! The contest had four really hard parts - speaking, listening, reading, and writing. For months, I studied my little hiney off, practicing all the English skills until I thought my brain would explode. But I didn't give up because I wanted to win that trophy sooooo badly! Finally, the big day arrived and I was crazy nervous. My palms were sweating buckets as I headed into the exam room with a bazillion other contestants. Deep breaths, Jimmy, I told myself. You got this! The first part was the speaking test where we had to rush into a room one-by-one and ramble on in English about a random topic for 5 minutes. When I walked in, the problem was "What is your favorite family tradition and why?" Oh boy, that was a hard one! But I took a deep breath and started jabbering away about how my favorite tradition is when my whole family gets together for Thanksgiving and we play this epic game of touch football in the backyard. I'll never forget how my uncle Steve accidentally trampled the turkey one year! What a riot that was.Phew, I thought I totally bombed that part of the test. But no time to get bummed - it was on to the next challenge...the listening test! We had to listen to all these bizarre audio clips ofpeople speaking different English accents and answer questions about what they said. I focused super hard, trying to make out words like "bohhhl" (ball) and "wuh-ter" (water). That Boston accent always gets me!By the end of that, my brain felt like melted pudding. But there was still no time to rest because next up was the reading test. We had to read all of these Encyclopedia-length English passages about crazy topics like "The Migratory Patterns of the Pacific Salmon" or "Famous Patents from the 19th Century." My eyes started crossing after paragraph two, but I slugged my way through it all like a champion. Finally, the moment I had been waiting for - the writing test! We had two whole hours to write a ginormous essay on the topic "If you could create one new law, what would it be and why?" Heck yeah, this was my time to shine! I cracked open that bluebook and let my pencil fly, scribbling away about how I would create a law where kids were legally required to have recess four times a day and every meal had to be topped with gummy bears. A world every 10-year-old would love! After that brutal writing session, it was finally over. I felt like one of those Ironman athletes you see collapsing at the finish line, except swap the giant muscles for one giant brain ache!A few weeks passed and then the day arrived - the award ceremony! With my fingers and toes crossed, I sat amongst the crowd hoping against hope that my name would be called. And then...the big moment..."And now, the winner of the grand prize in the Professional English Skills Competition for Non-English Majors is.....JIMMY DAVIDSON!"I WON I WON, I WON, I WON!!!! I leapt out of my seat, did a little jig, and bounded across that stage to receive the biggest, shiniest trophy I had ever seen! All those months ofintense studying and testing had finally paid off. Muahahahaha, the English Champion was me!What an adventure it was, let me tell you. I'll never forget the thrills, the chills, the agony, and the wild ecstasy of winning my very first major English competition. Who knows, maybe there's an English spelling bee championship I can conquer next? Wherever there are cool English word-related challenges to be had, this kid will be first in line, practicing his heart out! The English royal throne is mine, mwahaha!THE END...or is it just the beginning? Dunn, dunn, dunnnnnn!篇2My Big English Test Adventure!Hi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. I just had the craziest experience and I can't wait to tell you all about it! Last weekend, I took part in this huge English competition called the "Professional English Skills Competition" and it was SO much fun. You're probably wondering, "Lily, why would a little kid like you enter a big fancy competition like that?" Well, you see, even though I'm just in 5th grade, I've always loved learning English. My parents started teaching me when I was really little and it quickly became my favorite subject in school. I can read English books, watch English movies, and chat with English speakers from all around the world! When my English teacher, Mrs. Jenkins, told our class about this competition, I just knew I had to try out. It was open to all ages and skill levels, with different categories for different types of students. I entered into the "Other Majors Group" since English isn't my main focus of study (that would be things like math, science, art, etc.). I studied super hard, practicing all my English skills like reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Finally, the big day arrived! The competition was held at the local university and there were students of all ages, from littlekids like me to university students. I was so nervous as I walked in and saw all the other competitors looking so smart andgrown-up. But I took a deep breath and reminded myself that I knew my English really well too.The first part was the written exam. We had to read some passages and answer comprehension questions, write an essay, fill in blanks with proper grammar, you know--all that fun stuff! I actually enjoyed working through those sections. The reading was on really interested topics like space exploration and ancient civilizations. And for the essay prompt, I got to write about my favorite book series, Harry Potter!Next up was the listening section where they played recordings and we had to answer questions. That part was a little trickier since the speakers had such strong accents that I'm not used to. But I focused really hard and used the skills I've learned like listening for context clues. Phew! After a quick snack break, it was time for the speaking portion. This was the part I was most nervous about since I don't often get a chance to practice my spoken English outside of class. But it ended up being really fun! We had to describe a setup of random objects, answer spontaneous questions, and even actout a little role-play scenario. I tried to speak slowly and clearly, and imagine I was just chatting with a friend. Finally, after what felt like an entire day, the competition was over. I was so tired but proud of myself for working so hard. A few weeks later, the results came out--and I got 3rd place in my category! I was over the moon, jumping up and down with my little trophy. All that studying had really paid off.Even though winning was amazing, the best part was really just getting to experience taking such a big test and challenging myself. I made some new friends from other schools who love English as much as me. I feel more confident than ever in my English abilities now too.So there you have it, my big English competition adventure! If you ever get a chance to take part in a contest like this, I highly recommend going for it. You might surprise yourself with how well you do. Just relax, have fun, and let your English skills shine! Who knows, maybe I'll see you at next year's competition. A future champion has got to start somewhere, right?篇3My Big Adventure at the Awesome English Contest!Hi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I just had the most amazing experience and I can't wait to tell you all about it!A few months ago, my English teacher told our class about this super cool English competition called the "Professional English Skills Contest." It's a really big deal where students from all over get to show off how good they are at speaking, writing, and using English. My teacher said it would be a great challenge for me since English is my favorite subject and I'm always practicing it by reading books, watching movies, and talking to my English pen-pals online. At first, I was a little nervous because I'd never entered a competition like this before. But my parents and teacher kept encouraging me, saying I should give it a try. They know how much I love English and that I'm always looking for fun ways to get better at it. So after thinking it over, I decided to go for it! I filled out the entry form and asked to compete in the "Other Majors" category since I'm not specializing in anything yet.The weeks leading up to the contest were super busy with studying and preparing. I had to write a bunch of practice essays on different topics. My parents would quiz me on vocabulary words and idioms. And I spent hours watching English videosand movies to get ready for the speaking portion. It was a lot of work, but also kind of exciting! Finally, the big day arrived! We had to get up super early to drive to the competition location. When we got there, I was amazed by how many students had entered from all across the country. The place was packed with kids my age looking just as nervous and excited as I felt. The first part of the contest was a written exam testing our grammar, reading comprehension, and other English skills. I did my best to stay focused and not get too flustered. After that, it was time for the real fun - the speaking portion! One at a time, we had to pick a random topic out of a hat and then give a little presentation about it on the spot. Can you believe I got "The History of Video Games"? I was so relieved because I know a ton about that subject. I just imagined I was back at home talking to my friends about our favorite games and that helped me relax. While we waited for the results, there were all these activity booths set up to keep us busy and take our minds off the suspense. I got my face painted like a cat, played some trivia games, and even met a few kids from other schools who are also obsessed with English like me. We became instant friends! At long last, it was time for the award ceremony. They saved the "Other Majors" results for last, which made my heart feel like it was going to beat right out of my chest. When they finally called out my name to come up and accept the third place trophy, I thought I might faint from excitement and disbelief! All that hard work had paid off. My parents looked like they might actually cry they were so proud. On the way home in the car, I couldn't stop staring at my shiny new trophy and the certificate. This whole experience made me even more passionate about continuing to study English. Who knows, maybe next year I'll go for the gold! But for now, I feel like a champion just having the courage to put myself out there and compete. To anyone else who loves English like I do, I highly recommend you try entering a contest like this one. It was challenging for sure, but also so much fun. And getting to meet other kids who share my interests was the best part. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a fresh new English book picked out that I can't wait to dive into!篇4The Super Awesome English ContestHi everyone! My name is Jenny and I'm 9 years old. I want to tell you all about the coolest thing that happened at my school last month. We had the most amazing English contest and it was soooo much fun!It was called the "English Proficiency Competition for Other Professional Categories." I know that's a really long name, but it just means it was an English contest for older kids who want to have jobs that aren't like being a doctor or teacher or anything like that when they grow up.The contest was open to all the 4th, 5th and 6th graders at my school. My big brother Dylan is in 6th grade so he got to enter. I'm just in 3rd grade so I couldn't compete this time. But I got to watch and it was the best!First, all the kids who wanted to enter had to pick what kind of job they might want when they're older. Dylan picked "video game developer" because he's crazy about games and wants to make them someday. His best friend Zack picked "chef" cause he loves cooking. Then they had to go through different rounds testing their English skills for that job. For the video game job, Dylan had to write some dialogue that characters in a game might say. He's really creative so he did an awesome job!For the chef one, Zack had to describe different foods and ingredients using lots of descriptive English words. He worked really hard practicing vocabulary words like "savory", "aromatic", and "succulent." Doesn't succulent sound like the yummiest word? There were rounds testing all different English skills they'd need for their jobs. Reading comprehension, listening, writing, speaking, everything! The kids even had to look up terminology and jargon that would be used in that career. It was so cool getting to watch Dylan and Zack up on the stage doing their different challenged. My favorite part was the live speaking tests where they had to pretend to be in their job and speak English naturally.Dylan had to imagine he was a video game creator giving a presentation to his team about a new game he wanted to make. He spoke for 5 minutes describing the whole story, gameplay, graphics and more. He was so animated and excited, using all sorts of gaming lingo too! I was blown away by how professional he sounded.Zack's speaking test had him acting as a chef teaching an English cooking class. He engaged the audience and everything, walking us through how to make this delicious pasta dish. Hesounded just like a gourmet chef on those fancy cooking shows. I could practically smell the garlic! There were kids competing for all kinds of cool jobs - veterinarian, journalist, athlete, scientist and more. We heard them using medical terms, reporting the news, explaining biology concepts, you name it! My mind was spinning from all the English I was learning just from watching. At the end, Dylan ended up winning the whole video game category! He got this huge trophy and a special prize. For Zack, he came in third place overall for the chef category which is still really impressive.Afterwards, all of us little kids got to go up and ask Dylan and the other winners questions about their jobs and how they prepared. We had a big celebration with treats that Zack and the other chef contestants helped make. What a day! That English contest showed me that no matter what you want to be when you grow up, you're going to need excellent English skills. Lawyers, business leaders, engineers, artists - being fluent in English is so important for every career these days.I learned that English isn't just something you use in school either. It's a living language for communicating in the real world,no matter what profession you choose. I can't wait until I'm old enough to compete myself. Maybe I'll go for the "astronaut" category - I've been praciting saying all sorts of planet and galaxy names in English! Thanks for letting me tell you all about our super awesome, incredibly fun English Proficiency Competition. I'm really looking forward to next year's contest. Maybe my little brother will get to compete too! Gotta go, time to study some more English vocab...talk to you later!篇5My Big Sister's English CompetitionHi friends! My name is Emma and I'm 8 years old. I want to tell you all about this really cool thing my big sister Sarah did last weekend. She's 16 and a sophomore in high school. Sarah loves English class and wants to be an interpreter when she grows up so she can travel the world and help people understand each other.A few months ago, Sarah's English teacher told her about this huge Professional English Skills Competition for high school students. It's run by the local community college and tests kids on all sorts of English skills like writing, speaking, listening, reading, and even stuff like giving presentations and translating documents. There are different categories based on what career you want, like business, medical, legal, and an "other professions" group for jobs like interpreting.Sarah was super excited because she thought this would be great practice for her dream job. She signed up for the "other professions" category and started preparing right away. Sarah studied really hard, practicing her English writing, speech delivery, accent reduction, you name it. She even made mom and me help her by reading things out loud in different accents so she could practice her listening comprehension! Finally, last Saturday was the big competition day. We all got up super early and Sarah spent like an hour getting ready, doing warm-up exercises for her mouth and voice. She looked so professional and grown-up in her suit and briefcase full of notes.I was crazy proud of her!At the competition, Sarah had to do a whole bunch of different tasks to test her English ability. First up was a written exam testing grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension - all that book stuff. Sarah said it was pretty challenging but she felt prepared.Next was my favorite part - the impromptu speech! Sarah had to pick a random topic out of a hat and then had just 2 minutes to prepare a 5 minute speech on it. The topic she got was "The Importance of Effective Communication in Today's Global Society." Sarah rocked it! She spoke so clearly and confidently, using all these great vocabulary words and examples.I was blown away! After the speech, Sarah had to take part in a role-play scenario where she pretended to be an interpreter at a business meeting. Two people spoke different made-up languages and Sarah had to translate everything they said, back and forth, perfectly. It looked really hard! But Sarah kept her cool and did an awesome job. There was also a listening test with different accents, a translation test where Sarah had to render a document from Spanish to English, and a cultural sensitivity test about how to act appropriately in various professional situations around the world. Phew! So much to do!While the judges tallied the scores, all the contestants got to relax and have snacks. Sarah looked a little nervous but still confident. She had worked so unbelievably hard to prepare and gave it her absolute all. Finally, it was time for the awards ceremony. They did the "other professions" category last. I was bouncing up and down in my seat, so excited for Sarah! When they announced the winner...it was her Sarah won the whole thing! We all screamed and cheered as she walked up on stage to get her big trophy and a scholarship to take interpreting classes at the community college. I was so unbelievably proud! On the way home, Sarah said the competition was crazy difficult but also crazy fun. She couldn't wait to sign up again next year and try to defend her title. She told me "Emma, it took a ton of work, but it was all worth it to pursue my passion for language and communication. I hope this shows you that with dedication and perseverance, you can achieve anything you set your mind to!"I gave Sarah a huge hug. My big sis is not just brilliant, but also kind, hard-working, and such an inspiration to me. I can't wait to see where her amazing English skills take her in life. And who knows, maybe one day I'll even get to compete too! Thanks for reading about my awesome sister. Study hard, work hard, and dream big, kids!篇6The Professional English Skills Competition - Yay or Nay?Hi there! My name is Timmy and I'm in 5th grade. Our teacher Miss Johnson recently told us about this super cool contest called the Professional English Skills Competition. She said it's for kids who aren't majoring in English, but still want to show off their awesome English skills. I really want to enter, but I'm not sure if I should. Let me tell you all about it!The contest has a few different sections. First up is the writing part. We have to write a short essay on a topic they give us. I love writing stories during free time, so this could be fun! But what if the topic is something boring like "The Importance of Eating Vegetables"? I'd probably fall asleep halfway through.Next is the reading comprehension section. We read some passages and answer questions about them. Reading is okay, but it really depends on what the passages are about. If it's something awesome like dragons or superheroes, count me in! But if it's all facts and numbers and stuff, hard pass. Then comes the listening part. We have to listen to recordings and answer questions. I'm a little worried about this one because my mind tends to wander. Like even if I'm watching my favorite TV show, I'll zone out for a bit and have to ask mymom "What'd I miss?" So having to pay close attention might be tough. The speaking section sounds kind of intimidating. We have to have a conversation with a judge and answer their questions. What if I get nervous and say something silly in front of everyone? Or even worse, what if I blink in the middle of talking and my eyes get stuck?! Okay, maybe I'm being a tad overdramatic there. Finally, there's the group discussion. We get put into teams and have to discuss a topic together. On one hand, I like working with friends. We could crack jokes and make it fun. But what if I get put with some stick-in-the-mud group that doesn't appreciate my sparkling wit? No thank you!Mmm, I'm still not sure if I should sign up for this thing. Let me lay out the pros and cons real quick:Pros:It would look super cool to say I was in the Professional English Skills CompetitionI might get a fancy certificate or medal if I do wellIt could help me get better at English for the futureThere will probably be snacks!Cons:I could embarrass myself in front of everyoneIt might be really hard and stressfulI'll have to give up playing video games to study and practiceThe whole thing just sounds kind of intimidatingGee whillickers, I just don't know! Part of me really wants that cool medal. But another part of me would feel way more comfortable sitting at home eating pizza and playing Rocket Blastazoid VII. This is such a tough decision! You know what, I'm going to go for it! Sure, it might be a little scary. But I'm Timmy Toughkid! (Well, that's what my mom calls me at least.) If I study really hard, I bet I could blow everyone away with my English skills. Miss Johnson will be so proud. I can see it now - straightening my shoulders, standing tall at the podium, and giving my acceptance speech:"Thank you, thank you! First off, I need to thank the academy. And my parents for dropping me off. And my dog Sprinkles for being so cute and inspi-rational. This is just so amazingly awesome!"Then I'll stick out my tongue and make a goofy face at all the stuck-up judges. Yeah, that'll show 'em not to underestimate Timmy Toughkid! Okay, so maybe I shouldn't get ahead of myself. But a kid can dream, can't he? I'm getting excited just thinking about it!Well, there you have it - the whole scoopity-scoop on the Professional English Skills Competition. If you're on the fence like I was, I say go for it! What's the worst that could happen? You'll still be the same awesome kid you already are, just with some extra experience under your belt. Don't let those silly jitters hold you back. Thanks for reading, and wish me luck! I'll be sure to frame and display my inevitable first place medal right between my Largest Insect Collection trophy and my Summertime Novice Underwater Basketweaving award. Take that, English contest!。
