That's my dilemma with Morocco. In August, I traveled in a country that had long been on my wish list. I rode a camel, got lost in Medina, and ate a lot of couscous (蒸粗麦粉).I loved the trip. Our friendly guide introduced us to the helpful locals. I madefriends with my tour mates and my roommate (which, on a tour, is a huge blessing).I loved being lost in the smell of different spices, and the chaos of millions of people and the dark red of the Sahara were all I wanted them to be.There were many moments when I felt like a fish out of water and things didn't go my way. But I take pleasure in those moments because it's when you are pushed out of your comfort zone that you grow. Morocco lived up to all my expectations, but for some reason, my experience has been hard to express. Why?One constant in my travels is that of a touchstone, one defining point where the trip all comes together and acts as a prism (三棱镜) for everything the journey represented. In Costa Rica, it was getting lost in a jungle. In Thailand, it was meeting those five people who changed my life.I'm so inconsistent about Morocco because I lack that touchstone. There's no big “whoa” moment. But I have thousands of little ones—staring at a million stars in the blackness of the desert, discovering new foods with some amazing Australians on my tour, and befriending the fish sellers.4.What does the author regard as a huge blessing?A.Going on a guided trip.B.Having a helpful guide.C.Being warmly received by the local people.D.Getting along well with the fellow travelers.5.What's the purpose of the fifth paragraph?A.To prove Morocco lacks the touchstone.B.To show his reliance on the touchstone.C.To compare Morocco with Costa Rica and Thailand.D.To share his experience in Costa Rica and Thailand.6.What made the author think the journey amazing?ck of big moments.B.The little “whoa” moments.C.Meeting with five Thai people.D.Making friends with Australians.7.What does the author mainly talk about?A.Unpleasant travel in Morocco.B.Finding a touchstone on travel.C.Reflection on traveling in Morocco.ck of special moments in Morocco.C[2022·泉州市高三质量监测(一)]When I worked on the manufacturing shop (车间) floor, we rarely saw plant managers, except for one. He often walked through the plant. He checked out product quality. He stopped for a brief word—usually no more than a “hello”. He wasn't outgoing. He didn't display any of the qualities typically associated with a “leader”. Yet we liked him.In a study of University of Pittsburgh in 1992, researchers had four women attend a number of different classes. Their attendance varied: one woman might attend every class; a different woman might attend only a few. What didn't vary was their behavior. None of the women spoke in class or spoke to other students. At the end of the term, students were asked which woman they liked best. Who “won”? Women who attended the highest number of classes. According to the researchers, “Mere exposure had weak effects on familiarity, but strong effects on attraction and similarity.” Or in nonresearcherwords: If I see you frequently, I naturally like you more. That's the power of showing up.Knowing someone will show up in the future also matters. In a 1967 University of Minnesota's study, researchers gave study participants profiles of two people and told them that one would be a partner in future discussion groups. When asked, the participants said they liked their future partner more. Even though the profiles were almost identical.Want your team or your customers to like you more? Show up. Drop in. Drop by. Send a brief note.Make a quick phone call. You don't have to say or do much. Then be consistent in your behavior. In time, people will expect you to drop in or drop by, whether in person or virtually. Anticipating future contact will make them like you more.8.What does the first paragraph serve as?A.An introduction. B.A background.C.A comment. D.An explanation.9.According to the 1992 study, what helps make a student welcome?A.Answering questions frequently.B.Greeting others enthusiastically.C.Behaving more like others.D.Attending classes more often.10.What did the University of Minnesota's study find?A.Familiarity contributes to likability.B.Identical behaviour enhances likability.C.Future partnership increases likability.D.Virtual contact benefits likability.11.What is the text mainly about?A.The power of likability.B.Research on likability.C.The definition of likability.D.The application of likability.D[2022·惠州高三第一次调研考试试题]When you walk on a sandy beach, it takes more energy than striding down a sidewalk—because the weight of your body pushes into the sand. As it turns out, the same thing is true for vehicles driving on roads. The weight of the vehicles creates a very shallow indentation (凹陷) in the pavement (路面) and this makes it like continuously driving up a very shallow hill.Jeremy Gregory, a sustainability scientist at M.I.T. and his team modeled how much energy could be saved—and how much greenhouse gases could be avoided—by simply stiffening (使变硬) the nation's roads and highways. And they found that stiffening 10 percent of the nation's roads every year could prevent 440 megatons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions over the next five decades—enough to offset half a percent of projected transportation sector emissions over that time period. To putthose emission savings into context—that amount is equivalent to how much CO2 you'd spare the planet by keeping a billion barrels of oil in the ground—or by growing seven billion trees—for a decade. The results are in the Transportation Research Record. As for how to stiffen roads? Gregory says you could mix a small number of synthetic fibers or carbon nanotubes into paving materials. Or you could pave with cementbased concrete, which is stiffer than asphalt (沥青).This system could also be a way to shave carbon emissions without some of the usual hurdles. Usually, when it comes to reducing emissions in the transportation sector, you're talking about changing policies related to vehicles and also driver behavior, which involves millions and millions of people—as opposed to changing the way we design and maintain our pavements. That's just on the order of thousands of people who are working in transportation agencies. And when it comes to retrofitting(翻新) our streets andhighways—those__agencies__are__where__the__rubber__meets__the__road.12.Why does the author mention “walk on a sandy beach” in Paragraph 1?A.To present a fact.B.To make a contrast.C.To explain a rule.D.To share an experience.13.What suggestion does the author give to reduce CO2 emissions?A.Hardening the road.B.Keeping oil in the ground.C.Growing trees for decades.D.Improving the transportation.14.What is the advantage of this suggestion?A.Gaining more support.B.Consuming less money.C.Involving more people.D.Facing fewer usual obstacles.15.What does the underlined part mean in the last paragraph?A.Those agencies are likely to make more rules.B.Those agencies will change some related policies.C.Those agencies might put more rubber tires on the roads.D.Those agencies will play a key role in making this happen.第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。

英语作文《不一样的我》
Growing up, I always felt like a square peg in a round hole. My peers were into the latest trends, the newest gadgets, and the most popular sports, but I was drawn to theworld of literature, the arts, and the quiet introspection of nature. I was the kid whowould rather spend an afternoon reading a classic novel than hanging out at the mall. Iwas the one who preferred the symphony to the latest pop hits. And I was the one who found solace in the tranquility of a forest trail over the hustle and bustle of city life.My journey of selfdiscovery began when I was in middle school. I remember the first time I picked up a copy of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The world of Maycomb, Alabama, and the moral dilemmas faced by its characters captivated me. I was transported to a different time and place, and I felt a deep connection to the story. From that moment on, I knew that literature was more than just a subject in school it was a passion that would shape my life.As I delved deeper into the world of books, I found myself drawn to the works of authors like Jane Austen, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and J.D. Salinger. Their stories resonated with me, and I found solace in the characters they created. I began to write my own stories, pouring my heart and soul into each word, each sentence, and each paragraph. Writing became my escape, my sanctuary, and my way of expressing myself. My love for the arts extended beyond literature to music and painting as well. I was fascinated by the way a melody could evoke emotions and transport you to another world. I was captivated by the way a brushstroke could bring a canvas to life. I took up the piano and the guitar, teaching myself to play by ear. I experimented with different styles of painting, from abstract to realism, and found joy in the creative process. But my journey was not without its challenges. There were times when I felt like an outsider, unable to relate to my peers who were more interested in social media and the latest fashion trends. I was often teased for my interests, and I sometimes felt like I didntfit in. But these experiences only strengthened my resolve to stay true to myself and pursue my passions. One of the most significant moments in my journey was when I joined the schoolsliterary magazine. It was a group of likeminded individuals who shared my love for literature and the arts. We would meet after school to discuss our favorite books, shareour writing, and plan our next issue. It was a safe space where I could be myself and express my creativity without judgment. As I reflect on my journey, I realize that being different is not a flaw, but a strength. Ithas shaped who I am today and has given me the courage to pursue my passions, evenwhen they dont align with societal norms. I have learned to embrace my uniqueness and to find joy in the things that make me different. In conclusion, being different is not something to be ashamed of it is something to be celebrated. It is what makes us unique and allows us to bring our own perspective to the world. So, whether youre a bookworm like me, a budding artist, or someone who marches to the beat of your own drum, I encourage you to embrace your uniqueness and let it guide you on your journey of selfdiscovery.。

交换生英文自我介绍(精选6篇)交换生英文篇1I was born and educated in China, where schools indoctrinate Marxism and brag how one day the proletariat will come to dominate the world. Marx’s theories do make sense but it would be so narrow-minded to obediently accept what my teachers taught me. So, at my age of sixteen, driven by intense curiosity and eagerness to know the world, I endeavored to get myself elected by YFU (a foreign exchange program), and experienced an extraordinary year in the United States.America was as different and fascinating as I had expected, so was my host family. We have different skin colors, speak different languages and eat different foods. However, what distinguishes them from me the most is their belief in God. I, a family member, undoubtedly should go to church on Sundays with my host family. And literally, it appalled me the first time. You can easily picture how awkward it was for a nonbeliever to sit among a crowd of reverent Christians listening to a solemn-looking guy preaching hysterically. For sixteen years, my world had inculcated in me with the idea that the universe started with a big bang and people are offspring of jumping monkeys. It was seemingly impossible to merge an all-powerful God into the concepts I had already developed.A few months later, I learned some basic Christian tenets and interesting religious stories, and could also sing doxology pretty well. One Sunday morning, we drove to church just as usual. The decorations indicated that it was a day of importance but I did not pay much attention. Singing, praying, and listening to the church’s leader briefing, I felt boredom gradually taking awaymy consciousness. Just as I started to doze, a group of people stood up and my host mother told me to kneel down in the front with everybody in a whisper. Since my English was still a little shaky, I hoped that I had misunderstood her. Kowtow in Chinese culture is a symbol of hierarchy and feudalism. Surely, I travelled across the Pacific Ocean to experience different customs and cultures, but getting down on my knees for some god I didn’t even believe in was definitely not what I had expected. My host mum made it clear, however, that all of us were to kneel down.So I did. And every bit of that moment is deeply engraved in my soul. Looking at everyone’s devout expression, I could almost felt God’s presence in the air. Although I still did not believe in him, the pious atmosphere touched me. Those people were true believers and they deserved my respect. So, however embarrassed by this cultural dilemma, I followed all the procedures of the ritual.Throughout the whole exchange year, miscellaneous incidents sparked countless petty quarrels, but my affection for my host family only grew each time the conflict was resolved. In the very first place, I believed science and religion were so fundamentally contradictory that people who hold these two disparate beliefs could never get along well. But my host family turned out to be so endearing people. I learned that no matter what backgrounds we are from, so long as we keep a respectful manner, misapprehensions can always be resolved and resonance can be acquired. Before I came back to China, my host mum reassured me that Jesus loved me and exhorted me to talk to him on every Sunday. Well, I tried, and each time ended up talking to myself eccentrically. As for whether God exists and loves me, it is tooprofound a question for a teenager like me to answer, nor does it matter to me anymore. All I need to know is that my host family loves me, and I love and appreciate them. They give me a broader perspective of the world and galvanize me into pursuing higher education in the United States.交换生英文自我介绍篇2Dear Sir/Madam:Thank you in spite of being very busy taking valuable time to read this letter of recommendation, thank you appreciate you give me an opportunity to show myself!
Opportunity and SuccessSome deem that opportunity is the key to success. For example, those global business giants like Google owe their success to the huge opportunities they meet. Google's boom benefits from the frenzy of Internet. Another striking example is Zhang Liangying's overnight sensation. Super Girl Voice Contest, a golden opportunity for her, put the spotlight on her.Others argue that intelligence and diligence outweigh opportunity. There is solely a Google around the planet. The Internet superpower gains from its co-founders' advanced technology and keen insight into the global internet market. Zhang Liangying demonstrated her distinguished talent and the very wide vocal range. For this reason, she left an favorable impression with judges and won a host of diehard fans.In my eyes, success is strongly linked with both. The combination of these two factors breeds success. There are enormous opportunities beckoning us. We must seize them and exert our all-out intelligence and ability.关于成功的途径的英语作文篇2:通向成功的途径Discuss both views and give your opinion. When they finish school, teenagers face the dilemma of whether to get a job or continue their education. While there are some benefits to getting a job straight after school, I would argue that it is better to go to college or university. The option to start work straight after school is attractive for several reasons. Many young people want to start earning money as soon as possible. In this way, they can become independent, and they will be able to afford their own house or start a family. In terms of their career, young people who decide to find work, rather than continue their studies, may progress more quickly. They will have the chance to gain real experience and learn practical skills related to their chosen profession. This may lead to promotions and a successful career. On the other hand, I believe that it is more beneficial for students to continue their studies. Firstly, academic qualifications are required in many professions. For example, it is impossible to become a doctor, teacher or lawyer without having the relevant degree. As a result, university graduates have access to more and better job opportunities, and they tend to earn higher salaries than those with fewer qualifications. Secondly, the job market is becoming increasingly competitive, and sometimes there are hundreds of applicants for one position in a company. Young people who do not have qualifications from a university or college will not be able to compete. For the reasons mentioned above, it seems to me that students are more likely to be successful in their careers if they continue their studies beyond school level.关于成功的途径的英语作文篇3:The way to success 人生成功的途径Success, as is known, is the pursuit of many ambitious people. It requires much of a person. In my view, above all, one should be a person of strong perseverance. Rome was not built in a day. On our long way to success, there are undoubtedly many difficulties standing in theway. If we lose heart and give up halfway, nothing can be achieved. Throughout history, we have had many famous successful people in the world, of whom no one is weak-minded. Take the great American scientist Edison as an example, he tried experiment after experiment and had one failure after another before he finally invented the bulb, which lighted up the whole world. So we can conclude perseverance can surely be one of the secrets of success. Furthermore, one needs to work hard to realize his dream just as the famous saying goes “Hard work leads to success”.Look at these around us and we’ll find diligent people are always the favor of our society. They usually achieve more than expected. Why do so many of our classmates of average intelligence go far ahead of others? Hard work is definitely supposed to be the answer. And still, I hold that one must keep in pace with the informa tive world. There’s no denying that our world is changing every day. So one can never be locked alone inside his own room, doing his research work and dedicated to book knowledge. How can an isolated person be well-informed enough to go ahead of others? If so, that could be ridiculous. Success is what one desires. So long as one is perseverant, hard working and up-to-date, I am sure success is near at hand.成功,众所周知,是许多雄心勃勃的人的追求。
Competion and Cooperation 竞争与合作英语范文
Competition and CooperationSome people think that in this modern society, there exists fierce competitions among people and companies. In fact, it is competition in every aspect that has given continuous motivation to the development of society. If there were no competition at all, there would be no chances for people to win. So the world would become completely static and people would be idle. However, more people think that cooperation has much more value than competition. Every single man is limited in his wisdom and strength. If we do not c ombine our efforts together, how can we make some great changes in the world? If we want to conquer the whole universe, we should stand together even closer to make our future brighter. In my opinion, both competition and cooperation are necessary in today’s world. On the one hand, we should compete with each other and learn to be stronger in this process. On the other hand, we have to cooperate with each other if we do not want to be isolated in this world. Remember:One flower doesn’t make a spring ,and one person doesn’t make a world, people were born in a community, thus cooperation is a must.1999年英语专业八级作文试题学生写作PART V WRITING (60 MIN .)Some people claim that competition more important than co-operation in the present-day society. 下面是店铺给大家整理的大学英语四级写作范文,供大家参阅!大学英语四级写作范文1Working in Big Cities or Small Sized Cities?到大城市还是小城市工作?Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled Working in Big Cities or Small Sized Cities?. You should write at least 120 words following the outline given below.1.大学毕业生面临到大城市还是小城市工作的艰难抉择2.到大城市和小城工作各有什么优缺点3.我的看法[1]With employment pressure increasing in big cities in recent years, college graduates' decisions about where to go after graduation have become a big problem. In some sense, to work in a big city or a small sized city, that is a tough question for many college graduates.[2]On the one hand, the rising living cost and fierce competition are making it ever more difficult for college graduates to gain a firm foothold in big cities. However, big cities do bring more opportunities and higher salaries. On the other hand, life in small sized cities is much easier than that in big cities. Moreover, companies in small cities offer broader career development, which means college graduates can achieve success in career much earlier.[3] From my point of view, where to work after graduation largely depends on what matters most for each graduate. Sincean easier life means more to me, working in a small sized city is not a bad idea for me.[l]首段概述大学毕业生面临的艰难选择。

jane的一天英语作文初一
jane的一天英语作文初一全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1Jane's DayHey diary, it's me again, Jane. I've had kind of a crazy day and just felt like writing it all down before I forget anything! You'll never believe what happened...I woke up this morning to my mom yelling up the stairs for me to get ready for school. As usual, I hit snooze about three times before finally rolling out of bed. I scrambled to get dressed, brushed my teeth in a hurry, and ran downstairs just as my little brother Tommy was finishing his bowl of cereal."You're going to be late again," he giggled in that annoying way little brothers do. I stuck my tongue out at him as I poured myself a bowl of dry Cheerios and started shoveling it into my mouth."Jane! Is that really how a young lady should eat?" my mom scolded me. I tried my best to look innocent as I crammed another handful into my mouth. Sometimes parents just don'tunderstand how rushed the morning can be for a busy 7th grader!I grabbed my backpack and ran out the door towards the bus stop. Of course, I ended up being the last one on the bus...again. I had to squeeze my way down the aisle, stepping on a few feet along the way, to find the last remaining seat. Naturally, it was next to Cody Jenner, this total dweeb who picks his nose if he thinks no one is looking. Gross! The bus dropped us off in front of Harris Middle School and I booked it to my first class, pre-algebra with Mrs. Robertson. I've never been that great at math, but Mrs. Robertson has this way of explaining things that actually makes sense to me. Except for today, that is. She was going on about linear equations and by the end of the period, I was more lost than ever. I definitely need to get some extra help before the next test. After pre-algebra was English with Mr. Meadows. I actually don't mind that class too much, except we've been reading this book that is just incredibly boring. It's called The Grapes of Wrath and it's about these farmers who lose their land during the Dust Bowl and have to move to California. I've zoned out so many times during that class because the book is such a snoozefest. Who wants to read hundreds of pages about poor people not having enough money to survive? No thanks! At lunch, I sat with my best friends Ava and Sabrina like I do every day. We were all eating and complaining about our classes when all of a sudden, a total FOOD FIGHT broke out! It was complete chaos as mashed potatoes, chicken nuggets, and cartons of milk were being flung across the cafeteria. I spotted Derek Williams, this big jock from the football team, completely nail Cody Jenner (remember, the noseypicker from my bus) right in the face with a plate of spaghetti. I felt a little bad for laughing so hard, but it was just too hilarious. The vice principal, Mr. Kovic, came rushing in looking furious and shut that party down pretty quickly. He got on the microphone and demanded to know who started it all. When no one confessed, he threatened to keep the whole school back for after-school detention until someone did. That definitely wiped the smiles off everyone's faces!Of course, I have gym class right after lunch. So there I was, still kind of smelling like meatballs and tomato sauce, getting ready to humiliate myself at badminton again. Despite my total lack of hand-eye coordination, gym hasn't actually been too bad since we started the badminton unit a few weeks ago. It's kind offun just laughing at how bad everyone is instead of being judged for not being a superstar athlete, you know?Well, diary, you'll never guess what happened next. There I was, missing yet another birdie, when suddenly I heard someone clear across the gym yell "HEADS UP!". I barely had time to turn my head before...WHAM! I got hit square in the face with a birdie traveling at seriously high speeds. It stung so bad and before I knew it, I had this crazy nosebleed going. Of course I started bawling like a baby too because, well, it really hurt!So that's how I ended up spending the rest of my afternoon in the nurse's office with some ice on my face and aTamp-Ax shoved up my nostril (seriously, so embarrassing). I missed all of my remaining afternoon classes, including geography which is usually my favorite. All because of one rogue birdie to the schnoz!Well, it's getting late and I'm sure my mom is going to be hollering up the stairs for me again any minute now. I'll have to get started on my mountain of homework soon. But first, let me just say one last thing...WHAT A DAY! I seriously cannot make this stuff up. Being a 7th grader is all kinds of crazy, am I right? Here's hoping tomorrow goes a little more smoothly. Wish me luck!Until next time,Jane篇2A Day in the Life of JaneHi there! My name is Jane and I'm a typical 7th grade student. I thought I'd give you a glimpse into what an average day is like for me. Just a warning though - my life isn't exactly thrilling! But here goes anyway...My day usually starts around 6:30am when my annoying alarm clock blares in my ear. I hit snooze a couple times before finally forcing myself out of my warm, cozy bed. I don't consider myself a morning person at all, so getting up is always a struggle.Once I'm vaguely conscious, I shuffle into the bathroom and try to make myself look presentable. I brush my teeth, throw my curly hair into a ponytail, and put on whatever clean clothes I can find. I generally don't put too much effort into my appearance - I'm more focused on being comfortable than stylish. After getting ready, I head downstairs to the kitchen. Depending on how rushed I am, I'll either grab a quick breakfast like a granola bar or if I have time, I'll make some toast oroatmeal. I'm not a big breakfast person but I know I need to eat something to fuel my brain for the school day ahead. My mom drives me to school since it's too far to walk. We usually listen to the radio and catch up on how things are going.I definitely take advantage of being chauffeured around while I still can!I get to school around 7:45 and head straight for my locker to get my books for my first few classes. The hallways are always total chaos in the morning with students rushing around trying not to be late. I prefer to get to class a little early so I can relax and mentally prepare before the bell rings. My first class is English Literature. While I don't mind reading the books we're assigned, I find discussing the "deeper meanings" and "symbolism" kind of tedious. Isn't a rose just a rose sometimes? Though I do enjoy the creative writing assignments where I can let my imagination run wild. After English, I have Algebra. Math has never been my strongest subject and I find it mind-numbingly boring. Sitting there puzzling over equations is just torturous in my opinion. But I try my best to pay attention so I don't fall behind. With Math finally over, it's time for my favorite class - History. I'm a total history buff and love learning about past civilizations, cultures, and major events. My history teacher does a great job making the lessons engaging and bringing the past to life.Next up is Science class which can be interesting when we get to do experiments, but not so much when we're just taking notes from textbooks. After Science, I have Spanish which I'm decent at but not particularly enthusiastic about. Finally, the morning ends with Gym class which is a nice way to get some exercise after sitting through four academic classes.Around 12:30pm, it's lunchtime - the part of the school day I look forward to most! I meet up with my friends and we gossip, laugh, and decompress from the morning. The food isn't exactly gourmet but it beats going hungry. A personal pizza, some fries, and a chocolate milk is my go-to cafeteria lunch.Once I'm re-energized from some down time with my friends, it's time for afternoon classes to begin. First up is Art which I absolutely love. Getting to tap into my creative side and make things is a nice break from the more academic subjects. I'm definitely my happiest when I have a paintbrush or pencil in my hand. After Art, I have Computer Skills which I suppose will be useful someday but isn't exactly riveting. Learning about databases and spreadsheets isn't exactly my idea of an exhilarating time. To wrap up the day, I have Woodshop which I actually find pretty fun and satisfying. There's something rewarding about crafting and building things with my own hands. The final bell rings at 3:15pm and I couldn't be happier that the day is done! I go back to my locker to switch books for tonight's homework, then head outside to catch the bus home. The bus ride is about 20 minutes and gives me a chance to zone out and relax after being "on" all day at school.Once home, I have a little down time before starting on homework. I'll usually watch some TV, listen to music, or scroll on my phone to decompress for a bit. But then it's time to hit the books again. Depending on my workload, I'll spend a couple hours or so working on assignments for the next day's classes.Around 6:30, I take a break from homework to eat dinner with my family. It's rare that we're all able to sit down together every night, so I cherish this time. After dinner, it's back to hitting the books until my work is done, usually by 8 or 9pm.Once my homework is complete, I get ready for bed - shower, brush teeth, put on pajamas. Then it's time for a little mindless entertainment before lights out. Maybe I'll read, watch some Netflix, or catch up on social media. I try to be asleep by 10 or 10:30pm so I'm well-rested for the day ahead. And that's a basic rundown of my average school day! I know it's not exactly a thrilling tale, but it's my typical routine. The cycle of classes, activities, homework, repeat. Some days are better than others, but I try to make the most of each one. This is just a phase of life, and I know my days will be filled with more excitement as I get older. But for now, this is what a day in my middle school life looks like. Ordinary for sure, but I'm okay with that!篇3A Day in the Life of JaneHi there! My name is Jane and I'm a 13-year-old middle school student. I thought I'd give you a glimpse into a typical day of my life. Just a heads up - my days are pretty busy andjam-packed, so this might be a long read!My day starts at the rude awakening of my obnoxious alarm blaring at 6:30 AM. I hit snooze about three times before finallypeeling my sleepy self out of my warm, cozy bed. The mornings are definitely the hardest part of my day - I'm just not a morning person at all! After splashing some water on my face to try to wake up, I get dressed in my school uniform which consists of a white polo shirt, navy blue skirt, knee socks and black shoes. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the uniform, but it prevents the daily "what should I wear?" dilemma.Next up is trying to make my crazy hair look presentable. I spend a good 20 minutes brushing and putting it into a ponytail or braids. My hair has a mind of its own, constantly frizzy with random strands sticking out no matter what I do to it. One of these days I'm just going to shave it all off!Around 7:15, I head downstairs for a quick breakfast. My mom works really early, so it's just me and my dad in the mornings. He's usually making some eggs, sausage and toast for us to share. I'm really not that hungry in the morning, so I just have a yogurt and a banana to start my day.The bus for school picks me up right around 7:40. I attend Middleton Middle School which is about a 20 minute bus ride from my house. I usually just listen to music or read on my Kindle to pass the time.Once I get to school, my morning routine is pretty much the same every day. First stop is my locker to swap out books for my morning classes - algebra, English, and history on Mondays and Wednesdays. I'm definitely not a math person, so algebra is probably my least favorite. The first part of my day is a blur of sitting through lectures, taking notes, and trying not to fall asleep. I have the shortest attention span and find it so hard to focus for that long! English is probably my favorite just because I enjoy reading, writing and analyzingbooks and literature.Around 11:00 it's lunchtime and a much needed break! I meet up with my group of friends - Sophia, Maya, Ava and Emily. We all bring lunch from home, so we head to the courtyard picnic tables to eat together. Lunchtime is really just 25 minutes of non-stop laughing and gossiping. We're all such ridiculous dorks when we're together! After lunch it's time for science, Spanish (my favorite!), and history again. The second half of the day is a total blur. By the time 3:00 rolls around, my brain is absolutely fried and I'm so ready to go home. I stop by my locker one last time to pack up my homework for the night. The bus drops me back home around 3:45. My mom gets home from work at 5:30, so I have an hour and a half of free time every day after school. Sometimes I'll just veg out, watch some Netflix and have a snack. Other times I'll facetime friends or scroll through social media. It's basically my time to re-charge and do whatever I want.Around 5:00, I'll start on any homework assignments which usually takes me a couple of hours to power through. I have to admit I do put in minimal effort and don't work to my fullest potential when it comes to homework. I just don't have the motivation after being at school all day!My mom gets home and we have dinner together every night around 6:30 or 7:00. We rotate between my mom making meals, ordering food, or going out to restaurants. My favorite night is Friday pizza night! After dinner is just more free time for the rest of the evening.Around 9:00, I start getting ready for bed - showering, brushing teeth, putting on pajamas, that whole routine. I'll read for a bit before finally forcing myself to go to sleep around 10 PM.And then the cycle repeats all over again the next day! That's a pretty typical day in my life as a regular 8th grade middleschool student. My days are exhausting but I've gotten used to the daily grind of school, homework, repeat. Can't wait for high school!。

my_experience_of_learning_english(五篇模版)
my_experience_of_learning_english(五篇模版)第一篇:my_experience_of_learning_englishLearning English is an very painful experience for me.At the very beginning,it is very harsd for me to express myself in English.Whenever I tried my best to speak English in class, i would be laughed by my classmates. After that I had no cofidence to speak English any more.I suffered a lot in the class because I did not want to lose face in front of my friends.Gradually, I found it had nothing to do with my English study.I had made a fool of myself.I realized that the best way to prove myself is to study harder and caught up with others. So I seized every chance to speak English in class as well as in free talk. What's more,I did morning reading every day.I continued working till now.To my great joy, I can speak beautiful English now.The experience is painful but also helpful. When I was a freshman in Guangwai, I was bored with learning English and suffered a lot in the English class. An English movie changed all of this. One day, a friend of mine asked me to watch with her a movie called “Finding Nemo”.I was soon attracted to the cute little clownfish Nemo, and the funny, meaningful plot. After finishing the movie, I began to imitate Nemo’s pronunciation, which gave me lots of fun. This movie changed my attitude towards English.Soon after that, watching English movies became my favourite hobby, which took most of my spare time. Each time, when I finished the movie, I couldn’t help thinking and speaking in English. The feeling I got from imitating the pronunciation of my favourite character in the movie and their famous words was just great! Not long later, I was surprised at my progress----I could understand most of the content of the movie even without subtitles.Wow, that was awonderful feeling!I was really inspired. Then I became an active student in my English class and began to enjoy learning and using English.Personally, I think, the key to learning English well is to develop an interest in it first and then spend lots of time learning and enjoying what is learned.Ask yourself a question “Do I feel happy when I learn English?” If your answer is “no”, you’d better hurry up and find something interesting to you.For example, an English movie, an English book, or an English saloon. Also find yourself a partner to watch the movie or to read the book and then discuss about the story with them.Alternatively, take a willing friend with you when you decide to join in an English activity. My friend Peggy was exactly such a person. She and I watched many English movies together, talked about the English stories we both read, and attended many English speaking activities.I benefited a great deal from Peggy’s company, her good English, and even more from her inspiration as she always encouraged me and stopped you from giving up when I almost lost heart in front of difficulties and hards hips. Thanks to Peggy’s company and help, I found lots of fun in learning English.Together, we met with many interesting people and made friends with them. This is how I grew interested in English, fell in love with it, and turned myself into a fluent English speaker eventually. All in all, my secret of learning English lies in two things: first to start with something interesting, and then to work with a willing partner. If you follow my example, with the help of these two, you are destined to enjoy learning English and making cheerful progress. When I was at primary school, I was not interested in English at all.At that time, my English was very poor. When I became a middle school student, my mother asked me to watch English movies and TV programs, listen toEnglish songs and practise speaking English with her. Now, I do one unit of the reading exercises in Pep Up Your English by the People's Education Press every day.Although I have just graduated from junior middle school, I have finished the books for Senior One students and now I am working on the books for Senior Two.The reading materials are quite new and cover a lot of fields, so I like the set of books very much.I think the books have helped me to improve my reading comprehesion a lot. Thanks to Pep Up Your English, I got the standard score 807 in English in the first model examination of Baoan District and A+ in the Shenzhen Senior High School Entrance examination.I had some problems while I was learning English.I was good at spoken English, but poor in written English.I used to make mistakes in spelling. Then, I learned seven words by heart every day by going over them five times within a day——early in the morning, after lunch, after school, after dinner, before going to bed.As a result, I don't often make mistakes now.Besides, my grammar was poor, so when I had time, I would read my grammar book now and then.Although it was boring to me, after thinking of the goodness it would bring, I didn't feel bored any longer My experience of learning English tells me that persistence is the biggest problem for me, for my students and for most English learners in China.I don't remember how many plans I had made from the first day I learned English. In those days, I didn't get the key to English-learning.What I did was some basic things for exam, for example, memorizing new words, getting ideas of grammar, making sentences, or reciting lessons. These are all basical work for English learners.T oday, I admit these works are useful, helpful. They do a great job in my English learning. But they are not everything and they are not that important when comingto the problem of using English.Words, sentences, grammar, that happened in the very first days of my English learning, most in middle school. When in high school, things got closer to exams because the only task for high school students is to get themselves enrolled by colleges, which is the only way to success in those days.Understandablly, we, including myself, plugged ourselves into all kinds of exercises for exams, from day to day, month to month, year to year.I didn't remember how many exams I took, but I knew I made progress step by step in handling exams. That is a good news for me because I was getting closer and closer to colleges. At the end of my high school days I took the national entrance examination for colleges and did a good job by getting a high score of 93 when the full was 100.I was happy and got myself enrolled by a well-known university, majoring in English. But I don’t think that score means much when I think of that score in later days because it really means nothing compared with the ability of spoken English and written English. Those are the real English, communicative English, while the English for exam weighs nothing in use.You don't speak it.You stutter it.You don't write it.You write simply, with the most simple diction such as run, go, come, do.Except these words, you use nothing more complicated. But no one told me how to solve these problems. And I didn’t realize anything.I just did as was told to by the teachers.I was in darkness, groping aimlessly.Nowadays, when I look back upon these days, I realize how stupid I was.I wasted a lot of time in my college.I was wasting my life. But this waste didn't stop when I graduated. It continued.T oday, when I see the English majors learning English, I know they are wasting their life as I did 20 odds years ago. They don't have a method. They don't know the key to English.Theyeven don't realize anything but just follow as are told to, just as I did many years ago. After graduation, I landed a job, working as an editor. That provided me much free time to learn English.I often did it in my office. But is office the right place for study? No.Absolutely not.In an office, you are distracted very often.Sometimes one would come to you for help. Some other times, your boss would come in and you feel sad to let him find you reading something unrelated to your work. You are disturbed from time to time. But to keep your job, you have to accept this situation.I stayed there for two years and did something half-heartedly.At last, I left the company.I found it a salvation.Working in another place without worrying about being disturbed when learning English is something great. So, in that period, I found myself improved greatly, not only in mood but also in study. Not long after that, I got another job in a college, which is a great change for me.But that is not a change for my English learning.Nowadyas, when I reflect upon those days, I realized teaching English is nor related to learning English. These are two different things.Teaching, in some sense is just to impart some knowledge and methods of learning to the students. It doesn't mean you can improve your English by teaching. The following years' teaching proved everything. It's right. You can't improve your English by teaching English. These days, I am trapped in a dilemma.I don't know what I should do.Should I continue my way as I did? Or should I change it.In fact, I am at my crossing.I should choose something. The old way is simple, easy.I don't need to work hard on it.I just follow suit. But this road in the end will lead nowhere.I can't reach any destination.Just like most others, I will live a life meaningless.Another way is different, but much harder. It is a road never taken by anyone. It is full of bushes andzigzags. What's the worst, no one, myself included, knows where it leads to.Will it have a destination? No, I don't know.No one tells me.But this road will lead to something more than the old one.The old one leads to a dead end, but this one will lead to, maybe, something.I have decided to choose this one, just for a bet, if it can be called a bet.I will bet something. If I fail, I accept everything the failure will bring me.If I make it, that's the thing I should be paid.。

My dilemma
After going to college , I start to understand as a university student , an adult , I should not rely on my parents helping me make a decision . I am supposed to learn to bear my troubles alone and attend to them .However , I am still in a dilemma----Should I make use of school hours practicing driving ?
Study is not everything for us . In order to meet the needs of talent market and accord with the development of the society , we have to take charge of kinds of skills . Therefore , some of my class ask for leave to practice driving . On the one hand , some hold summer vacation is too hot and winter holiday is too cold to practice driving . when we are at school ,the weather is nice . Meanwhile , it’s convenient . On the other hand , it is considered that learning is not so important . They can study in their spare time . Nevertheless , some believe that study is of more importance than training cars .What we
should do is that learning first ,other second .Simultaneously , those who think they can catch up on their own lack of class are wrong . What exercise is to the body , that teacher is to us , indispensable and crucial . Teachers have their own ways to teach us comprehensively .They can instruct us in learning what we can’t learn by ourselves . They can teach us by precept and example . All in all , some think they can’t use school time to practice driving .
I have struggled with for a long time , weight the advantages and disadvantages. Ultimately, I make up my mind that don’t utilize school hours to train cars . After all, we are students .。
