释名：水薄荷、苏薄荷、蕃荷叶、鱼香草、菝荷、人丹草、升阳草、夜息花、番荷菜等。

作用：薄荷是一种重要的香料植物，其干燥地上部分可入药，是我国常用的传统中药之一。

将陈皮10g、荸荠10g、薄荷6g煎汤取汁，代茶饮，有清热、理气、化痰之功效，主治痰气壅结型耳鸣、耳聋。

目前，薄荷临床上应用甚广，主要体现在疏散风热、利咽透疹、疏肝解郁、清利头目的功效，其还有发汗解表、化湿和中、止痢的功效，但临床应用相对较少。
