I wanted to tell you all about the fun things I did and the awesome places I went. Get ready for an exciting story! It all started on the last day of school. I was so happy when the final bell rang because that meant no more homework or tests for over 2 months! My parents had promised to take me on a long trip during the summer since I got really good grades. I could barely sleep that night thinking about where we might go.The next morning, my mom and dad surprised me - we were going to Hainan Island, which is this amazing tropical place in southern China! I had seen pictures before of the beautiful beaches and palm trees there. We took a flight from Zhengzhou and when we arrived, it was like being in a whole different world. The temperature was so warm and sunny compared to back home. Our hotel was right on the beach and had three huge swimming pools! After we checked in, I raced down to the beach. The sand was perfect for making sandcastles. I spent hours decorating my castle with seashells until the tide came in and washed it away. No worries though, because there was still so much fun to be had!Over the next few days, we went snorkeling in the crystal clear ocean. I saw so many colorful fish and coral reefs underneath the surface. It was like being in a giant aquarium! We also went on a boat tour around the island and I got to see dolphins swimming alongside us. The guide taught me their whistling sounds, which I tried to imitate. We finished the day watching the most beautiful sunset I had ever witnessed, with pink, orange and purple colors lighting up the sky. After a week of beach time, we went inland to explore the tropical rainforest in the center of the island. We went on a hiking trail and saw monkeys, snakes, cool insects and lots of strange trees and plants I had never seen before. Our guide pointed out trees with furry red monkey-cup seed pods and trees with dragon-scale bark patterns. It was like being in an alien world! The best part was visiting the Nanwan Monkey Island, which is home to thousands of wild monkeys that roam freely! We took a boat over and as soon as we stepped onto the island, monkeys were all around us. Our guide handed out banana chunks for us to feed them. One little monkey climbed right onto my shoulder to take a banana from my hand. I was so excited! We spent the afternoon just watching the monkeys play, wrestle and jump through the trees. On our way back, I saw one monkey had hitched a ride hanging onto the back of our boat!We finished our Hainan adventure by visiting the Wuzhi Mountain area. This is where they grow most of the famous Wuzhishan tea. We toured a tea plantation and I got to see the process of how the tea leaves are picked and dried into tea. The owner taught me how to properly brew tea leaves in a sharing pot. He let me sample different kinds of green, oolong and black tea. Some were grassy and fresh tasting, while others were rich and toasty. My favorite was the pu'er tea which had an amazing deep, earthy flavor. I bought a few boxes to bring back home. After two wonderful weeks, it was sadly time to leave Hainan Island. I had so many amazing experiences and made incredible memories. This was definitely the best vacation I've ever had! Trying all the new and different food, seeing beautiful nature, learning about the culture and making new monkey friends - I will never forget it.I'm already dreaming about where we'll go next summer. Maybe we can visit the Silk Road cities in the northwest like Dunhuang! I can't wait to have another fun adventure. No matter where I go though, this trip to Hainan will always be my favorite. It's a summer I'll cherish forever!篇2My Favorite AnimalHello everyone! Today, I want to share with you about my favorite animal. Can you guess what it is? It's a cute and lovable panda!Pandas are native to China, and they are known for their black and white fur. They look like big, fluffy teddy bears. I love pandas because they are so adorable and gentle.Pandas mainly eat bamboo, and they spend most of their time eating and sleeping. They are not very active animals, but when they do move, they look clumsy and funny. I find it fascinating how they can survive on a diet of mostly bamboo.Did you know that pandas are endangered? That means there are not many pandas left in the world. It's really sad because they are such wonderful creatures. People are working hard to protect pandas and their natural habitat. We need to do our part too, by learning about them and spreading awareness. If I had a chance to meet a panda, I would be over the moon with excitement! I would love to see them up close and maybe even give them a big hug. But of course, we need to remember that pandas are wild animals and we should always respect their space. In conclusion, pandas are my favorite animals because they are cute, gentle, and unique. They need our help to survive, and we should do everything we can to protect them. Let's cherish and appreciate these amazing creatures so that future generations can also enjoy their beauty.Thank you for listening to my story about pandas. I hope you love them as much as I do!Word Count: 228 words篇3My Summer Vacation AdventureHi everyone! My name is Xiaoming, and I'm 10 years old. I just started 5th grade this year. During the summer break, I had the most amazing adventure that I want to share with you all!It all started when my parents told me we were going on a trip to visit my grandparents in the countryside. At first, I wasn't too excited because I thought it would be boring like our usual trips there. But boy, was I wrong! On the first day, after we arrived at my grandparents' house, my cousin Xiaohong and I decided to explore the nearby woods. We packed some snacks and water bottles, and off we went! The woods were so beautiful, with tall trees, colorful flowers, and little critters running around. As we were walking, we noticed a strange-looking path that we had never seen before. Being the curious kids we are, we decided to follow it and see where it would lead us. After walking for what felt like hours, we stumbled upon an old, abandoned temple hidden deep in the woods! The temple was covered in vines and moss, but you could still see the intricate carvings on the walls and pillars. Xiaohong and I were in awe! We carefully stepped inside and explored every corner of the temple, imagining what it must have been like when it was still in use.Suddenly, we heard a strange noise coming from one of the rooms. We froze in our tracks, too scared to move. But then, out popped a tiny, adorable bunny! We both let out a sigh of relief and giggled at how scared we had been.As we were getting ready to leave, I noticed something shiny on the ground. It was an old coin! I showed it to Xiaohong, and we wondered how old it could be and who it might have belonged to.On our way back, we stopped by a small stream and splashed around in the cool water. It was so refreshing after our long hike. We even saw a family of ducks swimming by, and they let us feed them some of our snacks! When we finally made it back to my grandparents' house, we were exhausted but so happy. We couldn't wait to tell our parents and grandparents about our incredible adventure and the abandoned temple we had discovered. That night, as I lay in bed, I thought about how lucky I was to have had such an exciting and memorable summer vacation. I couldn't wait to go back to school and share my story with all my friends! From that day on, whenever I visit my grandparents, Xiaohong and I make sure to explore the woods and see what other hidden treasures we can find. Who knows, maybe we'll discover an even bigger secret next time!篇4My Awesome Summer VacationHi, my name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. I just started 5th grade and my teacher asked us to write about what we did this summer vacation. I had the best summer ever and I can't wait to tell you all about it!It all started on the last day of school in June. My parents surprised me and my little brother Tommy by telling us we were going on a big trip! They didn't say where at first, just that we needed to pack our bags. Tommy and I were so excited, we couldn't stop guessing where we might go. I hoped it would be somewhere with a beach and lots of sun since I love swimming.A few days later, we finally found out - we were going to Australia! I had learned a little bit about Australia in school, like how it's a huge island continent way down under near Antarctica. And of course, I knew about kangaroos and koalas. But I didn'treally know much more than that. My parents told us we'd be traveling all around the country for a whole month! Our first stop was the big city of Sydney. As soon as we got off the plane, I could tell Australia was going to be an awesome place. The weather was so nice and sunny, even though it was actually winter there since the seasons are flipped from the northern hemisphere. We saw the famous Sydney Opera House right away and I thought it looked like a huge sailing ship made of roof tiles. So cool!We spent a few days exploring Sydney. We walked across the massive steel Sydney Harbour Bridge, which was a little scary being so high up! But the views of the city and harbour were incredible. We also went to the Taronga Zoo and I got to see real live kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and so many other unique Aussie animals up close. Holding a koala was definitely one of the highlights - they're so soft and cuddly! After Sydney, we flew to Cairns which is a city way up in the northeastern part of Australia. The best part about Cairns was getting to visit the incredible Great Barrier Reef. We went on a boat tour and got to snorkel and see tons of bright colorful fish and coral. I had never experienced anything like swimming in the midst of a huge reef before. Our guide taught us how reefs areactually living things made up of billions of tiny animals. It was magical. From Cairns, we drove down the coast to a place called the Daintree Rainforest. It's one of the oldest rainforests in the world, with giant ancient trees and vines covering everything. We went on a few long hikes and our tour guide pointed out all sorts of crazy plants and animals we had never seen before. Like the neat little musky rat-kangaroos that looked like mice but hopped around like miniature roos! We also saw beautiful bright blue butterflies and scary-looking species of python snakes. The rainforest felt like another world. Our next stop was the big outback in the Red Center of Australia. This was the part I was most excited about - getting to see the famous sandstone rock formations like Uluru (which used to be called Ayers Rock). Uluru was even more impressive than I imagined, this huge flat-topped red monolith rising up from the pancake-flat desert. We got up very early one morning to watch the sunrise over Uluru, and the changing lights as the sun came up made the rock look like it was glowing orange, red, purple, and more.We also visited some other iconic outback rock formations like the Olgas (or Kata Tjuta) and Kings Canyon. I'll never forgetdriving for miles through the endless flat red desert and scrub, and then suddenly coming across these enormous piles of ancient sandstone domes just sitting alone in the middle of nowhere. Hiking up around them and through the dry creek beds was like stepping back in time to when the earliest Aboriginal people lived off this harsh land. The absolute craziest part of the outback though was getting to ride a real live camels! Can you believe people actually use camels to travel across the huge Australian deserts? A lot of camels were brought over from the Middle East and Arabia in the 1800s to help explore the interior outback. Our camel guides taught us all about the history and how they were an important part of Australia for a long time. Getting up on those tall creatures was scary at first, but after a little while it was just like riding a horse - except way taller and bumpier! On our way back to Sydney at the end of the month, we stopped for a few days in Melbourne, which is a big modern city on the southeast coast. We explored fun neighborhoods with street art covered laneways and nobody barbecuing dim sums and other snacks篇5Hi there! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. I go to Sunshine Elementary School here in Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan Province. I love learning English and my dream is to become a writer when I grow up! My English teacher, Miss Wang, is really nice and encouraging. She always tells us to practice writing as much as we can.So, when my older cousin Xiaoming took the big Gaokao exam last year to get into university, I was really curious about the English writing part. Xiaoming said the essay prompt was "Describe a personal experience that left a lasting impression on you." He did pretty well and got a high score, but he didn't get a perfect score. I wondered what a full-score essay would look like.I asked Miss Wang if she could show me an example of a top-scoring Gaokao English essay from 2020. She smiled and said, "Well Lily, I don't actually have a real essay to share since the exam details are kept private. But I can try to imagine what an excellent one might look like!" She grabbed a piece of paper and started writing. This is what she wrote:A Memorable Childhood ExperienceAs a young child, one experience that left an indelible mark on me was the time I unexpectedly found myself lost in the bustling city streets. It was the summer before I began primaryschool, and my family had traveled to visit relatives in the provincial capital. Amidst the dizzying sights, sounds, and smells of the crowded city, my tiny hand slipped from my mother's grasp. In an instant, I was alone, enveloped by a sea of unfamiliar faces. At first, sheer panic gripped me. The cacophony of car horns, vendors' calls, and chattering passersby overwhelmed my senses. Towering buildings seemed to loom over me as I spun around, searching in vain for my mother's familiar face. Hot tears stung my eyes as the reality of my predicament set in – I was utterly lost in this maze of concrete and chaos. However, as the initial wave of fear subsided, a strange sense of calm washed over me. I realized that giving in to despair would not aid my situation. Taking a deep breath, I began to look around with fresh eyes, searching for anyone who might be able to help me. That's when I spotted a uniformed police officer standing on a street corner.Mustering all my courage, I approached the imposing figure. "Excuse me, sir," I stammered in my small voice. "I... I can't find my mommy." The officer's stern expression instantly melted into one of concern as he knelt down to my level."Don't worry, little one," he said gently. "Can you tell me your name and where you last saw your mother?" I relayed what I could remember through quivering lips, clinging to the hope that this trustworthy adult would guide me to safety.True to his word, the kind officer took my hand and began retracing my steps, asking bystanders if they had seen a distraught woman searching for a lost child. After what felt like an eternity of frantic searching and growing despondency, I heard a familiar voice call my name. There was my mother, her face etched with panic and relief, rushing towards me with outstretched arms.In that moment, the world made sense again. As I reunited with my mother's embrace, unbridled joy and overwhelming gratitude washed over me. I will never forget the harrowing experience of being lost and alone, nor will I take for granted the selfless actions of the police officer who went above and beyond to reunite a lost child with her frantic parents. That day imparted invaluable lessons that still resonate with me today. I learned the value of remaining calm andlevel-headed in the face of adversity, as well as the importance of seeking help from trustworthy authorities. Moreover, I gained a profound appreciation for the kindness of strangers – how asimple act of human compassion can profoundly impact someone in need. While undoubtedly distressing at the time, that memorable childhood experience shaped me into a more resilient, empathetic, and appreciative person. It is a poignant reminder that even in the most chaotic or overwhelming of circumstances, hope can be found by maintaining composure and seeking assistance from thegoodness inherent in people. In a world that can often feel daunting and uncertain, I carry the lesson of that fateful day: We all have the power to make a positive difference in the lives of others, no matter how small the gesture.Wow, that was such an amazing essay! Miss Wang is so talented. I could clearly picture the whole scene in my mind as she read it out loud - the busy city, getting separated from Mommy, feeling scared but trying to be brave, the kind police officer helping, and the wonderful reunion at the end. Her words made me feel like I was right there, experiencing all the emotions too.I especially loved the life lessons she highlighted, like staying calm under pressure, asking authorities for help, and appreciating the kindness of strangers. Those are such importantvalues to learn, and her personal story made them really hit home. Miss Wang did an excellent job making her narrative engaging yet thoughtful. She explained that a top-scoring Gaokao essay should have a clear structure with an engaging introduction, detailed body paragraphs developing the main ideas, and a insightful conclusion tying it all together. The language should be sophisticated but not overly complex, with precise vocabulary and correct grammar. But most importantly, the writer needs to connect with the prompt on a deeper level and convey a meaningful message.I can see why an essay like this would get full marks! The details and emotions made it come alive, while analyzing the bigger life lessons showed impressive critical thinking skills. I have a new appreciation for how challenging yet rewarding the Gaokao writing section must be.Miss Wang told me I'm already a talented young writer myself, and with more practice, who knows - maybe I'll craft an award-winning Gaokao essay of my own someday! She encouraged me to keep exploring my creativity through writing about my own experiences and perspectives. I'm going to take her advice and keep working hard to improve my English skills.Just maybe, years from now, I'll be asked to share a model essay like this one too!篇6My Big DreamHi there! My name is Little Wang and I'm a 10-year-old student in 5th grade. Today, I want to tell you all about my big dream for the future. It's a dream that I've had for as long as I can remember. Are you ready? Here goes!Ever since I was a tiny kid, I've always loved animals. I think they're just the cutest, funniest, most amazing creatures ever!I've had all kinds of pet friends over the years - dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, you name it. Taking care of them and playing with them has brought me so much joy.But you know what makes me really, really sad? Seeing animals get hurt or abandoned or mistreated. It absolutely breaks my heart. I've seen stray dogs on the streets looking all skinny and scared. I've heard stories about puppies being abused by mean people. And don't even get me started on animals going extinct because humans are destroying their homes! That's why my biggest dream is to become an animal rescuer when I grow up! I want to go around the world saving any animals that are in trouble or danger. If I see a kitten stuck up in a tree, I'll climb up and get it down safely. If there's a whale trapped in a net, I'll dive into the ocean and set it free. You get the idea!I'd also really love to open up my own giant animal shelter and sanctuary. It would be this humongous place with endless fields and forests for the animals to run around and be happy. There'd be special areas for different types of animals to live in, like a savannah for lions and zebras, an arctic zone for polar bears, and a tropical rainforest for monkeys and parrots. And get this - the sanctuary would have its own veterinary hospital too! I'd hire the most caring, most skilled animal doctors to give every critter the very best medical treatment. Never again would an animal have to suffer from an injury or illness without getting help.Oh, and there'd also be an education center at my sanctuary where kids and grown-ups can learn all about the importance of protecting animals and their environments. We'd teach them how to be awesome animal lovers just like me! Maybe they'd get inspired to become rescuers too. How cool would that be?I know there might be people out there who think I'm just a kid with a silly dream that'll never come true. But I don't care what they say - I'm going to prove them all wrong! With enough passion, kindness, and perseverance, I truly believe anything is possible. So yeah, that's my big, big, huge dream that I've had for as long as I can remember. To become a world-famous animal rescuer with my own massive sanctuary where every furry, feathery, or scaly friend will be safe, healthy, and loved. Just imagining it makes me smile from ear to ear! What about you? What's your biggest dream, the one you want to achieve more than anything else in the whole wide world? Whatever it is, never stop chasing it, OK? Believe in yourself like I believe in myself. Work really hard, stay determined, and never let anyone tell you that you can't do it. You got this!Well, that's all I wanted to share for now. Thanks so much for listening! I'll let you know how my animal rescuing adventures go as I get older. Who knows, maybe you'll see me on TV one day, saving a whole herd of elephants or something! A kid can dream, right? Talk to you later!。
