The film critic of Pride and PrejudiceIn Pride and Prejudice, love stories are the main point. And there are four different marriages described in the film. They are Elizabeth and Darcy, Jane and Bingley, Charlotte and Collins and Lydia and Wickham. The story about Elizabeth and Darcy is the most attractive one. Elizabeth was a clever and smart girl. She was also an independent girl and always had an individual opinion, because she learned by herself. Darcy was a handsome man .He was very wealthy, but he was very proud and rude in other people’s eyes. Because of the education he had in his childhood, he first ignored Elizabeth’s good points because of the social position she was in and their social status. Later, he realized Elizabeth’s smart and beauty and proposed to her. But Elizabeth refused at the first time. From this, we can know that what Elizabeth want most was the true love between people. At last, through Darcy’s efforts, Elizabeth agreed to his proposal.People’s different characters that lead to their different marriages. By comparing these eight people’s characters and their four marriages, we can understand Jane Austen’s view towards marriage. The film also reflects the reality of the British society at that time: money was at the first place, the man is more important than women. And people think that a marriage that both have love and money is a perfect one.。

It is because of this quality, just make her have independent opinion on the emotional problems, and prompted her and the darcy composition content family.Books as the name implies, pride and prejudice, and in the book is male leading the obstacle of the love, but in the real society is also a communication barriers between people, but also in the right attitude towards themselves, treat things in a stumbling block. In real life, we will also often because of his unilateral idea but myself with others, so we have to overcome the "pride and prejudice", take the initiative to understand others. Each person actually are easy to be driven by their own subjective impression, and therefore easy to incorrect comment on other people, thus caused the misunderstanding between each other.A man give first impression is can affect many things, but not must not change, want to have a more in-depth understanding, in order to have a more objective point argument, just like the heroine of the story of darcy's view, is because understanding just change. Pride and Prejudice ", a novel a pleasure to behold, a beautiful and moving story. The article describes a number of daughters Bo Nate story. Ji-an eldest daughter, gentle kind-hearted, beautiful Keren, Bentley and rich kids at first sight, but at the crucial moment has brought a twist. Second daughter, Elizabeth, Qingli intelligent, ambitious, assertive, consistent with the property of the nobility million youth met Darcy. Can be as arrogant Darcy eccentric, Elizabeth for his prejudice are serious, they love but refuse to recognize the obvious, but also continue to hurt each other with words, but fortunately dispelled the last mistake, married lovers.Reading this novel, I have benefited greatly. In our people, there are many very modest, but there are some arrogant people. These arrogant people who sometimes annoying, they have eyes in the head long, others are dismissive. Indeed, the arrogance is a shortcoming in the environment to develop a character. Chinese children from an early age by their parents as holding掌上明珠typical"little emperors." If so has been from small to large养尊处优, how could it not arrogant? So I think that we should not be arrogant people who have prejudices, but the more soul-searching myself, to see if they have not arrogant, after their own things to learn to no longer allow parents to worry about, tired. As the book said: "Heart of pride in everyone. As long as we have so a little bit of strength, they will feel especially great. But pride and vanity while the same meaning, but in real terms in different kinds of self-pride is a feeling, Vanity will need to involve other people overestimate their own, so people have a pride without vanity, which is justifiable.

The Appreciation of Pride and PrejudiceAfter see the movie of Pride and Prejudice, I have thought deeply more about the figures. Everyone was special even unique and they were differed in many ways. Each person was stood for one character and all above of them were added some charm to the movie in some degree.I think Mr. Bennet was a negative figure and an ironic person. And he was also very sharp and clever. But to associate the author’s point of Mr. Bennet, however, was to ignore his ultimate failure as a father and husband. He was very clever but he always kept away from the matters that occured around him. And that made him became an ineffective parent and husband. He made no advice to his wife and little daughters to away from bad manners, so that his wife and his little daughters always behaved ridiculously and even badly. After Lydia eloped with Wickham, Mr. Bennet was proved that he was unable to handle the situation. Thanks to Darcy and Gardiners, the elopement has been solved . He was a likable, entertaining character, but he never managed to earn the respect of the viewers who ever watched the movie. In this movie, Jane Austin portrayed many characters with distinguishing features. There were two typical women that viewers may no t fo rget--- Lady Cather ine de B o urgh and Mrs. B ennet.Maybe the Lady Catherine de Bourgh who caused Anne's invalid state. Because Anne were to attempt things and did them badly, then her mother’s blame would be shown up as hollow. Lady Catherine de Bourgh prevented much shortcomings from appearing by keeping he from all exertion. And as a result, Anne had became thin but sickly. Besides, Anne seemed very selfish. She kept Charlotte outside in very cold weather; she did not talk to her mother's guests but only to the housekeeper. Maybe that’s because of her mother’s improper teaching.Compared with Lady Catherine de Bourgh, Mrs. Bennet was quite different from her, except that they were mercenary, overbearing, Compared with the attitudes that Lady Catherine de Bourgh showed towards Anne, Mrs. Bennet was the directly reason of Jane's and Lydia's misfortunes, and she also brought about Elizabeth's sufferings. She was a poor judge of character, and failed to understandanyone. We saw this in her enthusiasm for Collins and Wickham and her disapproval about to Darcy, especially stressed when Elizabeth has just accepted Darcy's proposal about their marriage. Jane Austen also described that Mrs. Bennet's had an uncertain temper to her supposed “nerves”.That’s a little funny. And Mrs. Bennet was one example among many in the movie of ill-breeding and bad manners: She lacked consideration for others .She was overbearing and domineering. She had no restraint and no sense of propriety - she would discuss her family affairs with anyone. She lacked intelligent conversation.Furthermore, she was vulgar, not only in her loud, unintelligent chatter, but in the absence of decency in matters such as Lydia's wedding or the whereabouts of Lydia and Wickham when they were married. What’s more, she also had no moral shame, because she flaunted Lydia and Wickham when they came to visit her family. She bullied people and was a snob - as we see in her reception of the news of Elizabeth's engagement to Darcy and in her servile attitude to Lady Catherine. To sum up, Lady Catherine de Bourgh and Mrs. Bennet has something incommon--- mercenary, overbearing, selfish and bullying. But they were different from each other-the attitudes to daughters, manners, temper...Jane and Bingley's relationship proved that too much prudent judgement can damaged, most severely, the possibility of lasting happiness. The two characters were immediately charmed by each other at the Meryton assembly. Jane's prudent judgement and utmost caution were apparent from the beginning of their relationship, and it was this factor which proved most damaging to any blissful future prospects, whilst Elizabeth was pleased that Jane displayed caution. Charlotte Lucas was surprised in her declaration that less judgement was required.Bingley, on the other hand, was not hampered by excessive prudent judgement in his following inclinations and courting Jane, and i t was his ac tiv i l y appro ach ing i n wo o ing Jane w hich eventually precipitated as a joyous and beautiful marriage. In her portrayal of Jane and Bingley's relationship, Austen provided a counterpoint to Elizabeth and Darcy's relationship by showing that an excessive amount of prudent judgement and caution can so muchtemper inclinations, such that with so little encouragement offered, prospects of lasting happiness can be endangered and lost. Through these two contrasting relationships, Jane Austen had skillfully drawn the fine line between too much of prudent judgement, because a rash, prejudiced approach towards inclinations, showing that a delicate balance of objective neutrality and strength of feeling under the appropriate circumstances must be demonstrated, in order to nurture to save any relationship, and to ensure its success.。

Book review of “Pride and Prejudice”"Pride and Prejudice" is a famous novel written by the British writer Jane Austen. It is mainly about a marriage story that Darcy who is considered of very pride and Lizzy has prejudice against him at the beginning overcame a variety of misunderstandings and difficulties. At the same time, the novel also portrays beautiful scenery and traditional custom in eighteenth Century England. In this novel, the words of Characters sometimes sound humorous and sometimes rational deep. The plots of the story are also so ups and downs that the readers are caught in them, taste joys and sorrows of the characters. Then, I mainly analyze the different marriages of eight characters in the novel to feel the author's view on love and marriage.1.Charlotte and CollinsCharlotte, one of Lizzy’s close friends, finally married Reverend Collins. Lizzy felt confused and also tried to persuade her friends because Collins wanted to propose to Lizzy just a few days ago. There is no love between them: for Collins, a wife just means the priest’s house in a certain area will has a mistress, and this is Mrs. Catherine wants him to do; for Charlotte, she married to a steady income person just for pursuing a steady life of the future days. Certainly, Lizzy always thought that there can be no happiness of them. However, Lizzie suddenly found their fade life may also be regarded as a kind of happiness, when she visited to Charlotte. In my opinion, this is marriage with no love based, appeared firstly in the novel, is the most disagreed marriage mode to the author.2. Lydia and WickhamWickham is so handsome and good at pleasing people that Lizzie even also had feelings for him at start. Actually, he is exaggerated and avaricious, and has a life full of luxury and waste. Lydia, the favorite girl to mother, is a youngest daughter of Bennet’s family. She loves communication, and meets a lot of young militiamen stationed in Meriton. Certainly, Wickham is also included. She is too young to dare, and never care others' tattle and prate about the elopement withWickham. It seems to be an certain event reflected at their personalities. People all hold the contemptuous attitude to their marriage, in addition to her mother. But, it is really a surprise to everyone that the marriage comes such fast. Lydia fall in love, forgotten about herself, lacked of intelligence; and Wickham is driven by money even he is treacherous and cunning. But the author seems to more appreciate this marriage than the previous one, probably because this marriage is based from love to a certain extent.3. Bingley and JaneThe marriage of Bentley and Jane earns not easily. They fall in love at first sight in the first party. But Bentley is not confident of this love, because of Jane's introverted temperament which emotions are not exposed on the face. Then, Bentley, with no independent, is persuaded by Darcy and his sisters to intend to put down this feeling. After Bentley left Netherfield, Jane went to London to hope to meet him in there. But she meets his sister instead. Miss Bentley visits to her later, but do not talk the news to Bentley about the meet and never plans to tell him. Jane feels very sad after she comes back. Jane keeps silence to others, may because she has the responsibility of the eldest in family. One day after the winter, neighbors heard Bentley will go back to Netherfield soon. It’s certainly good news to Jane, because she will be related to it largely. When Lizzy told her about it, Jane strongly denies and hides, but was very happy and excited inwardly. Bentley goes to Longbourn immediately after he comes to Netherfield. The feeling is firmed on this this Bennett’s visit, although another help him to make this decision.Bentley is a very modest, acclaimed man whose personality lacks opinions and his decisions are always influenced by other people. Jane often ascribes all the people and things to the good side because of her kind-hearted and meekness. But, she is not so clever and intelligent, and lack the emotion filled with enthusiasm.Their marriage is easily interrupted by external factors, although It has the true love. The author speaks highly of this marriage that she may not be going to pursue.4. Lizzy and DarcyThey have a marriage capable of evoking praises and tears. It not only breaks the senses of hierarchy, but also is a typical moving love story with path winds along mountain ridges. By all counts, the author tends to this kind of marriage which let them fall in love after knowing each other increasingly.Darcy is mature, wisdom and full of sympathy, but doesn't have the talent of conversing easily with strangers because of his family education and personal character. Then, it let him hardly make a good first impression to others, such as mentioned in the novel, all the people in Netherfield think Darcy is a pride person. The truth will always be covering under surface. Lizzy conceives prejudices to Darcy at the beginning and against him everywhere, although she is a smart and well observing girl. What unexpected is Darcy slow begins to love Lizzy,no other than because of her incoordination. Influenced by the social values, Darcy strenuously suppresses this feeling. Before long, he leaves Netherfield.Darcy may be sure he will never meet Lizzy. Accidentally, they finally meet each other at Hednesford. At this moment, Darcy can’t control his love at all. He confidently makes a proposal of marriage, while Lizzy refuses completely. After knowing her attitude to himself, Darcy writes a long letter to her to explain the reason to persuade Bingley to leave and the conflict with Wickham. Lizzy is shocked when she has read the letter and starts slow to generate favorable impression. Darcy begin to change his pride character after being refused, as well. Then, Darcy does Bennet some great services, such as he gives money to Wickham to ask him to marry Lydia and encourages Bingley to propose to Jane. Lizzy appreciates him too much after kowning everything from her aunt. At this time, love already takes root among them. After going to Longbourn to hope Lizzy make a promise not marrying Darcy, Mrs. Catherine finds her nephew to retell Lizzy’s words and ask him to make the same promise. But her words produce a contrary effects that Darcy retrieve the confidence to propose. It is no doubt to success this time.5. ConclusionIt represents four different match types, in the novel, of the four marriages between eight characters. The author expresses the most ideal match type to readers by comparing. She wishes both parties to a marriage will be intelligent and inner-directed and decide whether or not to be together each other after understanding gradually. It is a rarely good thought of author in that social background. The love story of Lizzy and Darcy has already spread all over the world. But, limited by the same background, the story writer describes can’t break away from the high society in England. After all, Darcy is a rich man whose annual income beyond 10 thousand and has more rights of free choice than average person. So, in my opinion, this love is worth praising, but is not typical.《傲慢与偏见》书评《傲慢与偏见》是一部由英国女作家奥斯丁所写的著名小说。

English:"Pride and Prejudice", directed by Joe Wright and based on Jane Austen's classic novel, is a masterpiece of romantic literature brought vividly to life on the screen. The film captures the essence of Austen's social commentary and keen observations on the intricacies of human relationships, particularly within the context of 19th-century English society. Keira Knightley's portrayal of the fiercely independent Elizabeth Bennet is compelling, capturing both her wit and vulnerability with remarkable finesse. Similarly, Matthew Macfadyen delivers a nuanced performance as the brooding Mr. Darcy, effectively conveying his internal struggles and eventual transformation. Wright's direction skillfully balances the romantic elements of the story with its underlying social critique, creating a film that is both visually stunning and intellectually engaging. The cinematography, costume design, and set pieces transport viewers to the opulent world of Regency-era England, while the sharp dialogue and dynamic character interactions keep the narrative captivating from start to finish. Overall, "Pride and Prejudice" is a timelesscinematic achievement that remains relevant for its exploration of love, class, and the complexities of human nature.

It divided into 2 volumes and is composed of 42 chapters altogether. The major characters are Mr. Darcy, A rich and proud young man. Elizabeth, the second eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet. Mr. Bingley , A rich young bachelor. Jane, the first daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Bennet. The story begin with Bingley’s arrival. One day when Mrs.Bennet hear Bingley has taken Netherfield, a house near her’s. She is so happy and arranged one of her five daughters marriage withhim. At a ball, luckly, Bingley and Jane fall in love at the first sight. Darcy, a friend of Bingley’s , was attracted to Elizabeth, a lively and spirited girl. But Darcy greatly offends her by his supercilious behavior and this dislike is increased by Wickham, a dashing young militia officer of the unjust treatment he has met with at Darcy’s hands. One day when Darcy and Bingley’s two sisters disgusted with the vulgarity of Mrs. Bennet and her two youngest daughters, effectively separated Bingley and Jane. Meanwhile, Collins, a cousin of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, married charlotte, a friend of Elizabeth’s, for Elizabeth’s refuse to marry him. But One day Darcy send Elizabeth a letter, in which he justifies the separation of his friend Bingley and Jane and make it clear that Wickham is. So Elizabeth changed her opinions and ideas toward him. Once when Elizabeth visited her uncle and aunt in the north of England, she met Darcy there and witnessed his changes through series of behaviors, no longer pride and become gentle and attentive, all these made their marriage arranged, and they also suitably provided for Bingley and Jane’s reunited and engaged. The story ends with both their happy marriages.Sir Walter Scott 评论READ again, and for the third time at least, Miss Austen’svery finely written novel of “Pride and Prejudice.” That young lady has a talent for describing the involvements and feelings and characters of ordinary life which is to me the most wonderful I ever met with. The big bow-wow strain I can do myself like any now going; but the exquisite touch, which renders ordinary commonplace things and characters interesting, from the truth of the description and the sentiment, is denied to me.—From “The Journal of Sir Walter Scott,” March, 1826. We bestow no mean compliment upon the author of “Emma”when we say that keeping close to common incidents, and to such characters as occupy the ordinary walks of life, she has produced sketches of such spirit and originality that we never miss the excitation which depends upon a narrative of uncommon events, arising from the consideration of minds, manners, and sentiments, greatly above our own. In this class she stands almost alone; for the scenes of Miss Edgeworth are laid in higher life, varied by more romantic incident, and by her remarkable power of embodying and illustrating national character. But the author of “Emma”confines herself chiefly to the middling classes of society; her most distinguished characters do not rise greatly above well-bred country gentlemen and ladies; and those which are sketched with mostoriginality and precision, belong to a class rather below that standard. The narrative of all her novels is composed of such common occurrences as may have fallen under the observation of most folks; and her dramatis personæ conduct themselves upon the motives and principles which the readers may recognize as ruling their own, and that of most of their own acquaintances.—From “The Quarterly Review,”October, 1815. Lord Macaulay 评论SHAKESPEARE has had neither equal nor second. But among the writers who, in the point which we have noticed, have approached nearest to the manner of the great master we have no hesitationin placing Jane Austen, a woman of whom England is justly proud. She has given us a multitude of characters, all, in a certain sense, commonplace, all such as we meet every day. Yet they areall as perfectly discriminated from each other as if they were the most eccentric of human beings. There are, for example, four clergymen, none of whom we should be surprised to find in any parsonage in the kingdom—Mr. Edward Ferrars, Mr. Henry Tilney, Mr. Edmund Bertram, and Mr. Elton. They are all specimens of the upper part of the middle class. They have all been liberally educated. They all lie under the restraints of the same sacred profession. They are all young. They are all in love. Not oneof them has any hobby-horse, to use the phrase of Sterne. Not one has a ruling passion, such as we read of in Pope. Who would not have expected them to be insipid likenesses of each other? No such thing. Harpagon is not more unlike to Jourdain, Joseph Surface is not more unlike to Sir Lucius O’Trigger, than every one of Miss Austen’s young divines to all his reverend brethren. And almost all this is done by touches so delicate that they elude analysis, that they defy the powers of description, and that we know them to exist only by the general effect to which they have contributed.—From essay on “Madame D’Arblay,”1843.My point of view towards the masterpiece of Jane Austen’s is that this novel reflects the English human sentiment of the end of 18th century and the early of 19th century under the circumstance of conservative, and tells us the difference ways and attitudes to marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet’s five daughters’. Thereby reveal the author herself attitude towards marriage, that is love and marriage based on money, property and social status is not perfect, but it is also stupid Without considering all of these. There, the author emphasize the importance of ideal marriage, meanwhile, to be opposed to love & marriage based on money or property and to be opposed topeople’s laugh love & marriage off. The author takes the affection/love as the cornerstone of ideal marriage between male and female. Elizabeth as the leading character in this novel, was born in the family of squireen’s, and is loved by Darcy. Darcy propose marriage to her in spite of difference in the possession of property and social status, but is refused by Elizabeth for his pride , the novel demonstrate that if the pride of Darcy’s existed , there will be no love and also happy marriage between Elizabeth and he, it is really nice that Elizabeth witness the changes of Darcy’s through series of behavior in the following days. viewing that he is no longer pride and then eliminating her prejudice to him, finally engaged with him and leading a happy marriage. The author described that female is in pursuit of independent personality and equal right through several different attitudes of Elizabeth for Darcy’s propose marriage. Meanwhile, demonstrate Elizabeth’s independent understanding for a happy marriage. In this article, the writer described several unperfect marriages of Elizabeth’s sisters and close friends, aimed at making a sharp contrast with Elizabeth’s beatific marriage and revealed that marriage without love but base on social status and property actually is a kind of public tragedies. Humorous, ironical, polished language and real storyline is also occurred in this article. Love actuallyPride and Prejudice is a masterpiece written by a British writer named Jane Austen. In the book, she expressed the relationship between love and marriage in a humorous way and showed different attitudes toward marriage by depicting several young women of different descent, economic position and horizon of knowledge. The story talks about four marriages which occurred in Britain in the 19th century. And the most important among them are protagonists Elizabeth and Darcy. Elizabeth is pretty and smart. As for love and marriage, she has her own strong principle that she won’t be confused by money and status but to insist on looking for true love. While Darcy is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. Therefore, she has a prejudice against him. Pride and prejudice lead to the unpleasent and misunderstanding between them. However, after clarification of various matters , they gradually fall in love and conclude the happy marriage. In the book, Jane clearly explained that it is wrong to get married for the property, money and status. She emphasized theimportant of the ideal marriage and regarded men and women’s emotions as the foundation stone. As far as I am concerned, I have learned two things from the book,o n the one hand, pride and prejudice are very common weakness among us, therefore, everyone can easily driven by their own subjective feelings and misunderstanding of others. Only in-depth understanding can we know a person’s inner world. On the other hand, Elizabeth insists on her emotions and isn’t confused by money and status, pursues her love bravely. Although we have different pursuits, I hope I can carry on like her. After all, uphold the dream is a happy thing. Pride and PrejudiceⅠ.Reading experience:I watch the movie Pride and Prejudice during last winter vocation, and I found it very attractive. She lived in the villages throughout her life. Although there were 2 suitors, she never married. She finished her first novel whenshe was only 21 years old. This work’s name was First Impressions (After amending, it had a new name: Pride and Prejudice).Ⅱ:Pride and Prejudice is a humorous story of love and marriage. Mr. Bennet was an English gentleman living in Hertfordshire with his wife. He had five daughters: the beautiful Jane, the clever Elizabeth, the bookish Mary, the immature Kitty and the wild Lydia. Because of the law, after the death of Mr. Bennet, their house would be inherited by a distant cousin whom they have never met. This family’s future happiness and security dependent on the 5 daughters’ marriages. One day, a rich gentleman Mr. Bingley came and rented a large house in this country. His sisters and his best friend Mr. Darcy came together. Love was soon in the air for one of the 5 sisters, while another had a prejudice against Mr. Darcy. Then they experienced many things, but at last, Mr. Bingley married the oldest sister Jane, and Elizabeth overcame the prejudice and married to Mr. Darcy. It’s a happy ending. Ⅲ:Although Mr. Song said the book report should be objective, but I had to say this book touched my heart deeply. The women written by Jane Austen still live in our world. Some like Charlotte Lucas, they choose a marriage without love just for money and a stable life. Some like Lydia, they are so frivolous and foolish that they flatter themselves that they can do anything well. Some like Mary, they are not good-looking but think themselves are the best ones. They look down every man while they are eager for a man’s love in their hearts. Some like Jane, they are kind and beautiful, but they are also reserved and feminine。
People always think that Austen was an expert at telling love stories. In fact, the marriage in her book is not the result of love, but the result of economic needs. After reading this book, I know the truth is that a poor woman must be in need of a husband, a wealthy man.I couldn’t forget how eager Mrs. Bennet wants to marry off her daughters. If you want to know why she is so crazy about these things, I must mention the situation in Britain at that time. Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s possessions. Younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in possession of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. Thus, we can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many possessions. Jane Austen told us that money and possession determined everything, including marriage and love in her century. In “Pride and Prejudice”, the sister of Mr. Bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying Jane because the Bennets don’t have many possessions and their social positions are much lower than them. From this, we can see there are a lot of obstacles for a not very rich woman to marry a wealthy husband. The society, the relatives would not allow them to get married. In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything”is still rooted in some people’s mind. A lot of parents try hard to interfere their children’s marriages. Education background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage. Marry for money is still a big problem in our society. We can’t help thinking: can money determine everything?Austen left this problem for us to think. The genius of Jane Austen lies in this perfect simplicity, the simplicity that reflects big problems. Although Austen was only 21 when she wrote “Pride and Prejudice”, her sharp observation of social lives makes the style of this book surprisingly mature and lively. The plots in her works are always very natural. The development of the plot is as inevitable as a problem in mathematics. I think the depth of Pride and Prejudice is the reason that makes this book prominent and classic. Today, her book still can be the guide telling us the economic relationships both at her time and in modern time.

The Review of Pride and PrejudiceWatching the film makes me to think much more about marriage. In my opinion, the happiest marriage is a combination of love and money, but true love is still the most important. The marriage of Darcy and Elizabeth is a good example. After undergoing many setbacks, Darcy’s pride and Elizabeth’s prejudice eventually eliminates, the lovers finally get married.Elizabeth is the Bennets’ second daughter, an active, intelligent and distinct girl. She has a middle-class family background and has not been affected by the formal education belonging to those aristocratic young girls, so she isn’t good at music and painting, but she has read many books which make her knowledgeable and perceptive. The most important aspect is that she is a lady with dignity and upbringing. Elizabeth is the ideal image for women as well as the most charismatic person in the film.Darcy is a man with tall figure and good manner. He is handsome, rich and powerful. So he is the ideal husband of most girls. But he has grown up in the surroundings with strong sense of power, so he is always selfish and pride and he has a critical look at each individual. So he looks down upon anyone else, except his filmily members. But something has changed when Darcy meets Elizabeth. After Elizabeth’s refuse to get married with him, he begins to be aware of his own short-comings. He accepts Elizabeth’s criticism, and faithfully corrects the short comings and mistakes. He is no longer pride and has a real love with Elizabeth. In the film, when they first meet each other in the ball, I can tell something special in their eyes, and then I guess there will be a story between them. In fact, they are attracted by each other at the first sight but even they don’t know it themselves. At first, Darcydoesn’t put an eye on Elizabeth. Darcy says that Elizabeth is beautiful, but not enough to attract him. Compared with his friend, Mr. Bingley, he looks cool, unfriendly and lack of enthusiastic. This makes others to think him as a pride man, so it is with Elizabeth. She begins to have prejudice on him. When Elizabeth meets the handsome officer, Mr. Wickham, Wickham says something bad of Mr. Darcy. What he says makes Elizabeth deeply believe that Darcy is not a good person, pride and selfish. What’s worse, Darcy advises Bingley that Jane is not fit for him. And doing so, makes Jane feel very sad. All these things are the reasons why Elizabeth misunderstands Darcy. So when Mr. Darcy can’t help showing his love to her, she refused him with sharp tongue. “You are the last person I’ll marry!”Maybe it is fate; later Elizabeth meets Darcy when she is visiting Darcy’s house which he hardly comes back. What she hears and what she sees show that Darcy is a kind person, not the pride man used to be in her mind. When she knows that Darcy helps Lydia to get married with Wickham, she changes her attitude to Mr. Darcy eventually. After undergoing many setbacks, the lovers finally get married. We can guess that they will live a happy life.So it is with Jane and Bingley. They love each other at the first sight, but they are multi-blocked, after their departure, they miss each other very much. At last, Bingley lays down his social status and to pursue his true love. Jane is the happiest girl in the world at the moment Bingley asks down his social status and to pursue his true love. Jane is the happiest girl in the world at the moment Bingley asks her to get married with him.Besides these two perfectly satisfactory marriages, the film tells us another two marriages, charlotte and Collins, Lydia and Wickham. They both go to the extremes. Charlotte gets Married with money, while Lydia get married with impulses.Charlotte was born of humble parentage and very mediocre in every aspect. She is typical questionable girl. In her attitude to marriage, what she needs is a stable life that she would not be exposed to the cold temperatures and suffers hunger in the future. So she gets married with Collin, a rich priest. Such marriage without love is too practical, so it is a kind of superficial marriage with happiness.Lydia is an impulsive, credulous, narrow-minded girl. So she is easily taken in by Mr. Mickham’s sweat words and honeyed phrases. Wickham comes down in the world because of misbehavior and gets into debt. And he believes that marriage is also a way to approach the fortune. Lydia is just his tool to gain money. Such couple only seek having had experience but not everlasting and unchanging. It is doomed to be a tragedy.Such marriages will never be happy. However, how can we fall in love with the right person and harvest a happy marriage? In my opinion, both money and love is important. Money is the basement. Since we are ordinary people, we need to eat, to dress, to live and so on. Money is the basement of marriage; however, it doesn’t mean that we must get married with rich persons but persons who can at least give you a security of life. However, the most important aspect for a marriage is true love. The marriage without love would eventually move toward disappointment and suffering. True love can sweep away all the setbacks on the way of marriage. Read love makes Elizabeth give up her prejudice and accept Darcy again. And real love makes Darcy change the attitude of being arrogant and wins Elizabeth’s heart and love. After undergoing so many setbacks, they finally walk together. This is the power of love. Loves can really create miracles。

影评(英文):Pride and Prejudice is a film that is stunning on several levels: the performances are excellent, the soundtrack is amazing, and the cinematography is beyond comparison. The performances were stellar. The entire cast was great, and it's interesting to note that, among the "stars" that made up the cast, there are several lesser known actors; this was the first movie credit for both Carey Mulligan (Kitty) and T amzin Merchant (Georgiana). It's not a word-for-word adaptation of the book, and cannot be considered a replacement for it. Speaking as someone who loved both the book and the movie, I can honestly say that it's a very satisfying and charming film.

The comment of "Pride and prejudice"Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by the famous English writer, Jane Austen, who was the sixth children in a family of seven and wasborn in the village of steventon in Hampshire in 1775 and died ofAd dison’s disease in 1817.Pride and Prejudice is a love story, mainly tells the love between Elizabeth and Darcy. It divided into 2 volumes and is composed of 42 chapters altogether. The major characters are Mr. Darcy, A rich andproud young man. She is so happy and arranged one of her five daughters marriage with him. At a ball, luckly, Bingley and Jane fall in love at the first sight. Darcy, a friend of Bingley’s , was attractedto Elizabeth, a lively and spirited girl. But Darcy greatly offends her by his supercilious behavior and this dislike is increased by Wickham, a dashing young militia officer of the unjust treatment he has met with at Darcy's hands. One day when Darcy and Bingley’s two sisters disgusted with the vulgarity of Mrs. Bennet and her two youngest daughters, effectively separated Bingley and Jane. Meanwhile, Collins, a cousin of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, married charlotte, a friend ofElizabeth’s, for Elizabeth’s refuse to marry him. The story ends with both their happy marriages.Sir Walter Scott 评论READ again, and for the third time at least, Miss Austen's veryfinely written novel of "Pride and Prejudice." That young lady has a talent for describing the involvements and feelings and characters of ordinary life which is to me the most wonderful I ever met with. The big bow-wow strain I can do myself like any now going; but the exquisite touch, which renders ordinary commonplace things and characters interesting, from the truth of the description and the sentiment, is denied to me.—From "The Journal of Sir Walter Scott," March, 1826.We bestow no mean compliment upon the author of "Emma" when we say that keeping close to common incidents, and to such characters as occupy the ordinary walks of life, she has produced sketches of such spirit and originality that we never miss the excitation which depends upon a narrative of uncommon events, arising from the consideration of minds, manners, and sentiments, greatly above our own. In this class she standsalmost alone; for the scenes of Miss Edgeworth are laid in higher life, varied by more romantic incident, and by her remarkable power of embodying and illustrating national character. But the author of "Emma" confines herself chiefly to the middling classes of society; her most distinguished characters do not rise greatly above well-bred country gentlemen and ladies; and those which are sketched with most originality and precision, belong to a class rather below that standard. The narrative of all her novels is composed of such common occurrences as may have fallen under the observation of most folks; and her dramatis personæ conduct themselves upon the motives and principles which the readers may recognize as ruling their own, and that of most of their own acquaintances.—From "The Quarterly Review,"October, 1815.Lord Macaulay 评论SHAKESPEARE has had neither equal nor second. But among the writers who, in the point which we have noticed, have approached nearest to the manner of the great master we have no hesitation in placing Jane Austen, a woman of whom England is justly proud. She has given us a multitude of characters, all, in a certain sense, commonplace, all such as we meet every day. Yet they are all as perfectly discriminated from each other as if they were the most eccentric of human beings. There are, for example, four clergymen, none of whom we should be surprised to find in any parsonage in the kingdom—Mr. Edward Ferrars, Mr. Henry Tilney, Mr. Edmund Bertram, and Mr.Elton. They are all specimens of the upper part of the middle class. They have all been liberally educated. They all lie under the restraints of the same sacred profession. They are all young. They are all in love. Not one of them has any hobby-horse, to use the phrase of Sterne. Not one has a ruling passion, such as we read of in Pope. Who would not have expected them to be insipid likenesses of each other? No such thing. Harpagon is not more unlike to Jourdain, Joseph Surface is not more unlike to Sir Lucius O'Trigger, than every one of Miss Austen's young divines to all his reverend brethren. And almost all this is done by touches so delicate that they elude analysis, that they defy the powers of description, and that we know them to exist only by the generaleffect to which they have contributed.—From essay on "Madame D'Arblay," 1843.’ My point of view towards the masterpiece of Jane Austens is that this novelreflects the English human sentiment of the end of 18th century and the early of 19th century under the circumstance of conservativeandtells us the difference ways and ,’’attitudes to marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Bennets five daughters. Thereby reveal the authorherself attitude towards marriage, that is love and marriage basedon money, property and social status is not perfect, but it is also stupid Without considering all of these. There, the author emphasize the importance of ideal marriage, meanwhile, to be opposed to love &’marriage based on money or property and to be opposed to peoples laugh love &marriage off. The author takes the affection/love as the cornerstone of ideal marriage between male and female. Elizabeth as the leading character in this novel, was born in the’family of squireens, and is loved by Darcy. Darcy propose marriage to her in spite ofdifference in the possession of property and social status, but is refused by Elizabeth for’his pride , the novel demonstrate that if the pride of Darcys existed there will be no ,love and also happy marriage between Elizabeth and he, it is really nice that Elizabeth’witness the chang es of Darcys through series of behavior in the following days. viewingthat he is no longer pride and then eliminating her prejudice to him, finally engaged withhim and leading a happy marriage. The author described that femaleis in pursuit of independent personality and equal right through several different attitudes of Elizabeth for’’Darcys propose marriage. Meanwhile, demonstrate Elizabeths independentunderstanding for a happy marriage. In this article, the writer described several unperfect’ma rriages of Elizabeths sisters and close friends, aimed at making a sharp contrast with’Elizabeths beatific marriage and revealed that marriage without love but base on social status and property actually is a kind of public tragedies.
Keira Knightley’s Elizabeth must re-examine her prejudices against Matthew MacFadyen’s proud Darcy in this adaptation of Jane Austen’s classicA collective groan of "not again!" went up throughout Britain’s green and pleasant land when news got out that there was another adaptation of Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ in the works. After all, the memory of Colin Firth’s Darcy getting hot and bothered over Jennifer Ehle’s Elizabeth Bennet in the BBC versio n of the book is still fresh in many minds, to say nothing of re-jigged versions of the story like Bridget Jones’s Diary and the Bollywood-style Bride & Prejudice. There were even more piercing shrieks of "Good God, no!" when the announcement came that comely but hitherto limited actress Keira Knightley - the poshie in the peignoir from Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl - was to play Elizabeth Bennet. Sure, doubters said, she’s got the accent, but would she be able to put across the sparkling intelligence of one of Britain’s best-loved literary heroines? What an enormous relief it is to find the 2005 version of Pride & Prejudice has turned out to be one of the best British films of the year. It’s a smart, elegant but exuberant version that’s in every way faithful to the spirit of a book that was first written by a 21-year-old woman. (The revised version familiar to us today was published when Austen was 38.)It is a fact universally known by every sixth-former that the story centres on sparky heroine Elizabeth Bennet (Knightley), her three sisters Jane (Pike), Lydia (Malone) and Kitty (Mulligan) and their parents, wry Mr Bennet (Sutherland) and talkative Mrs Bennet (Blethyn), who live in 18th century rural England.A respectable but not wealthy family, their fortunes depend very much on the daughters making good matches. At a dance, beautiful Jane soon catches the eye of local squire Bingley (Woods), but Elizabeth takes against his haughty friend Darcy (MacFadyen) when she hears him making a snooty comment about the local talent. After several missteps and much banter, followed by a few kind deeds, Darcy overcomes hispride and Elizabeth her prejudices to fall in love - especially after she gets an eyeful of the seriously stately gaff Darcy has inherited. (Derbyshire’s Chatsworth House, the real-life inspiration for Austen, provides the location.)Novelist Deborah Moggach’s skilful screenplay here by necessity both fillets the original and fills it out, but does the dialogue and sprightly ironic tone justice. Meanwhile, director Joe Wright, a former TV miniseries maker, subtly accentuates realism over costume-drama froth. One of the film’s strokes of genius is to set the story not in the Regency period when the book was published, but in the 1790s when Austen first wrote it, which brings out the class subtext nicely. At this earlier time, the French Revolution was unfolding just a few miles over the Channel, which is why there are soldiers everywhere. Although the English upper classes were rattled, there was social reform in the air which means it doesn’t seem so scandalous for rich Bingley to consider marrying poor Jane, or super-rich Darcy to consider Elizabeth. The fresh approach to the period is just one of this new version’s many strong points. Others include its roster of excellent character turns, from Blethyn and Sutherland (their Mr and Mrs Bennet are always bickering but clearly originally a love match), to Tom Hollander’s definitively oleaginous Mr Collins, and Judi Dench’s grand old bitch, Lady Catherine De Bourgh.MacFadyen’s Darcy seems younger and shier than Firth’s, a man not quite used yet to his status. He’s matched by Knightley’s impetuous, appropriately 24-year-old Lizzie. For all the posh dialogue they speak (delivered impeccably by both leads), one never forgets they’re still barely out of their teenage years. Their sparring, charged attraction for one another is built up beautifully throughout the movie, flowering particularly in a key ball scene, where the teeming room of people suddenly melts away, leaving just the two bickering lovers locked in a minuet. It’s these imaginative, just-so touches which lift this well above the polite costume-drama norm.。
Pride and prejudiceThe author of this article is Jane Austen. The main idea of this article is the four door of marriage began in England in Eighteenth Century.Hero Elizabeth Bennet was born in a rich family. There were seven people in her family. Her father her mother her four sisters and her. They had a simple and drab life. Her father was the only pillar of this family. He loved Elizabeth very much. The elder sister was inner simplicity. She fell in love with Mr.Bingley who was good looking, gentlemanlike. He had a pleasant countenance and easy, unaffected manners.A gleam of vanity came over the younger sister Lydia. She left no stone unturned in climbing up the top of the social status. It was miserable that she had a scotch marriage with the young officer Wickham. She almost ruined the whole family.Charlotte is Lizie’s girl friend. Finally, she took her cousin Collins in marriage.Although they never love each other, facing the fact that she was already 27 years old.In other words, she was too old.She needs a life security.Otherwise, she would be a burden on society. In her own words: “Not everyone can afford the romantic.”Pass through and pack the story of love certainly is Elizabeth and Mr.Darcy.Mr.Darcy, tall person, handsome features, his manners gave a disgust which turned the tide of his popularity. He looked “the proudest and most disagreeable”.When they meet for the first time, he expressed favor to Elizabeth who was clever and kind.Elizabeth prejudiced against his arrogant posture. So they had a misunderstanding each ter, in order to protectthe Bennets of fame, he agreed to the Wickham’s that let Lydia marry him.The he tried his best to make up for negligence to fix the relationship between Bingley and Jane. All this also gradually won Elizabeth’s heart. The love that met the challenge of Pride and Prejudice is not worth praising. But the British was filled of hierarchy in Eighteenth Century. So the marriage and love couldn’t witness the truth of love so that it because a means to inherited wealth. But Elizabeth also insisted that marriage should not be driven by money. She came over Pride and prejudice with her lover and got the marriage she wanted. All this embodied the value of love.In this story, Elizabeth is the representative of “Prejudice”.Mr.Darcy is the representative of “Pride”.Perhaps that is not possible for any one.It is necessary to avoid those weaknesses which often expose a strong understanding to ridicule.Pride and Prejudice is a weakness indeed.Prejudice—it is very easy to be driven by the subjective impression and have not correct ideas to others. No matter what, as long as you get to know more about something, you can get more objective conclusion.Pride—where there is a real superiority of mind, pride will be always under good regulation. All above are the feeling after reading Pride and prejudice11024220 崔桐第二篇:傲慢与偏见英文观后感Pride and PrejudiceAs we all know that, nowadays ladies want to marry gentlemen who are ‘high, wealthy and handsome,’ and almost all gentlemen like ‘white, wealthy and beautiful’ women. It seems that appearance and possessions have decided marriage to some extent. However, I do believe that we can learn a lot from Pri de and Prejudice. The first sentence in the movie reads, ‘Atruth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must in need of a wife." It reflects the social phenomenon at that time.Miss Bennet was eager to marry her five daughters to rich men. However, the sister of Mr.Bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying Jane because the Bennet don’t have many possessions and their social positions are much lower than them.Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting hi s father’s possessions.Younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in possession of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. We can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many possessions.True love seems very fragile and lovers have to face a lot pressure from their families. The difference in social status can be a big barrier keeping lovers away from each other.Only by appreciating the marriage founded on the basis of mutual understanding and true love, can a couplelive a happy life.Elizabeth and Darcy tried so hard to persuade their families and shatter the stereotypes.Eventually, they became a couple and lead a happy life from then on.From the ir wonderful marriage, we can conclude that it’s true love that matters most. For all the girls, their boyfriends may not be the richest guys in the world, but as long as they really care for us and we love each other, they can marry in the future.Sometimes, beautiful appearance and wealth may blind our eyes, I think it’s high time that we should think over love and make an important choice. The movie really impresses me a lot.Love is everything, and nothing can prevent true love.In such a society where every is pursuing for a large amount of wealth and good appearance, I think we really need to calm down.第三篇:傲慢与偏见英文观后感Pride and Prejudice is a famous movie. After seeing it I think it is really a interesting film.Elizabeth was the heroine of the story. She was beautiful, strong-minded, and kind-hearted.But I prefer the hero, Darcy.Darcy was handsome, rich but unsocial. When he first saw Elizabeth on the ball, he was soon absorbed by Elizabeth’s eyes, and he fell in love with her.But his proud appearance and farouche talk hurt Elizabeth and caused her prejudice to him.Darcy's pride causes him to look down on those who are in a lower social class, due to his mentality that he supersedes those who are not within his social circle.Given that Elizabeth Bennet is of a lower class than Darcy, this places immediate restrictions to their relationship.Elizabeth also displays significant pride. As time went by, all the ups and downs made Elizabeth more prejudiced against Darcy. When Darcy proposed to her, Elizabeth rejected it at once without any hesitation.Poor Darcy didn’t give up, he tried to clear the atmosphere and help her family out from the scandal. Finally, the misunderstanding was gone, they got together happily.Right that moment, none of a word could express my feeling.I never imagined that such kind of love could exist under such extreme pride and prejudice.I almost believed that the story would be true and it had ever happened somewhere sometime. There, people sang and danced and something sweetly changed without being noticed. From their love story I realize that it’s stupid to judge a person just by the first impression and always have prejudice on the person who you dislike, and pride sometimes will make you far away from the people. From the story, we can see, because Darcy’s proud, he offended the girl he loved, and because of the prejudice, Elizabeth was failed to see the merits of Darcy, butfortunately, they didn’t miss each other finally.Their love was romantic and also realistic. The marriage of Charlotte Lucas and Mr.Collins represented most of the marriages at that time. Most women and men got married for money and power. The marriage had nothing to do with love. The wives were regarded as the beautiful vases for decoration. The husbands took the “vases” with them to the social occasion everyday while thinking about their career advancement in their heart and never cared about the feelings of the “vases”.And what caused this? The essential reason was the low social position of the women.Even the ladies in the upper class only played the role of a housewife. And this kind of marriage is surely a tragedy of society. In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people's mind.A lot of parents try hard to interfere their children's cation background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage.Marry for money is still a big problem in our society. We can’t help thinking: can mo ney determine everything? From my opinion, I do not agree with this view.I think I can only get married because of love, and I'll never choose this kind of marriage under any situations.第四篇:傲慢与偏见英文观后感Pride and Prejudice As we all know that, nowadays ladies want to marry gentlemen who are ‘high, wealthy and handsome,’ and almost all gentlemen like ‘white, wealthy and beautiful’ women. It seems that appearance and possessions have decided marriage to some extent. However, I do believe that we can learn a lot from Pride and Prejudice. The first sentence in the movie reads, ‘A truth well known to all the world that anunmarried man in possession of a large fortune must in need of a wife." It reflects the social phenomenon at that time.Miss Bennet was eager to marry her five daughters to rich men. However, the sister of Mr.Bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying Jane because the Bennet don’t have many possessions and their social positions are much lower than them.Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s possessions.Younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in possession of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. We can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many possessions.True love seems very fragile and lovers have to face a lot pressure from their families. The difference in social status can be a big barrier keeping lovers away from each other.Only by appreciating the marriage founded on the basis of mutual understanding and true love, can a couple live a happy life.Elizabeth and Darcy tried so hard to persuade their families and shatter the stereotypes.Eventually, they became a couple and lead a happy life from then on.From their wonderful marriage, we can conclude that it’s true love that matters most. For all the girls, their boyfriends may not be the richest guys in the world, but as long as they really care for us and we love each other, they can marry in the future.Sometimes, beautiful appearance and wealth may blind our eyes, I think it’s high time that we should think over love and make an important choice. The movie really impresses me a lot.Love is everything, and nothing can prevent true love.In such a society where every is pursuing for a large amount of wealth and good appearance, I think we really need to calm down. Pride and PrejudiceAfter reading <>, I really have lots to complain about.I truly don’t like the people in this novel. But why? I don’t know.Maybe I just don’t understand the realistic society and life and people’s ideas at that time in England, or maybe I am just such a person that always has a prejudice against everybody. The main roles I want to talk about in this novel, of course, are Darcy and Elizabeth.First, I want to say something about Elizabeth. After hearing Darcy’s bad comment on her, she said the words “I will never dance with him” so easily and so unwisely. Here we can know she is arrogant and she can’t stand Darcy’s contempt. But we also can see that she said the words too easily and too absolutely without thinking. What a fool!Who can predict what’s going to happen next moment? None!Long after this matter, we all know that she did dance with Darcy. At that time she may already forget the words that she had said before. But I will never forget her arbitrariness That Elizabeth believed Wickham’s words makes me more dislike her. It’s a common sense that one couldn’t be a real good guy, if he can say hurtful things about someone else naturally and directly. But Elizabeth believed. Now that she hated Darcy or you can say she had a prejudice toward Darcy from the very start, she can totally ignore him. However she cared about it very much.Maybe she started to love Darcy the minute she began to have a prejudice towards him.But who knows, and even she herself did not know.Another scene that Darcy showed his love to Elizabeth makes me totally dislike her, especially the words she said that “you are the last man in the world I could ever marry”.She said such irresponsible and hurtful things withoutany consideration.Actually, she misunderstood everything.I just want to say she is a sad and hateful person. What’s worse, she’s also a gutless person. Finally, she knew Wickham cheated her and Darcy was innocent and Darcy was a perfect gentleman. She found that she had already fallen in love with Darcy deeply. However, she did nothing but wept and regretted. She even didn’t have the courage to express her love to Darcy. As a modern girl, if I was her, I would fly to Darcy to admit my misunderstanding and express my true feelings to him in no time.Happiness is gained by one’s own efforts. If you don’t pursue the happiness, it’s almost impossible to enjoy it.Now what could I say about Elizabet h? I don’t think she would have a happy ending if there is no Darcy.Next, let me talk about Darcy. In the beginning, I like this gentleman.I admire him. When he said that “she is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt me, and I am in no humor at present to give consequence to young ladies who are slighted by other men”, I admire him very much.He was an arrogant man.And also he had the enough capital to be arrogant.Yes, he was handsome and wealthy. And then some time later, he asked Elizabeth to marry him, for he fell in love with her.Unfortunately, he was severely rejected by Elizabeth at once, but I still like him.He was a lovely man, right? At least, I think so.However, at the very last he showed his love to Elizabeth once again, regardless of the hurtful words that Elizabeth said before. It makes me disappointment.Where’s his pride? I love his pride all the time, but now it disappeared. If I was Darcy, after hearing Elizabeth’s hurtful word, I would never meet her again and I would even forget her name at once. And eventually he was a poor man that had lost his pride. These are all my opinions about Elizabeth and Darcy.By the way, I reallycan’t understand why the girls were so crazy about officers and how come Darcy’s love to Elizabeth developed so suddenly.< > is a classic novel that reflect the social reality, so no one in this novel is perfect. The perfect person does not exist in the world. And it gives me the opportunity to nit-pick.As a whole, they were all kind people in the real society.Joycee。
Pride and Prejudice: A Timeless Tale of Love, Class, and Prejudice.Jane Austen's beloved novel, "Pride and Prejudice," has captivated readers and moviegoers alike for centuries with its witty dialogue, intricate plot, and timeless characters. Joe Wright's 2005 film adaptation of the classic noveloffers a visually stunning and emotionally compelling rendition that brings Austen's world vividly to life. The film follows the Bennet family, a middle-classfamily living in rural England during the Regency period. The five Bennet sisters, Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Catherine, and Lydia, are all of marriageable age, and their parents are eager to see them well-settled.When the wealthy and eligible Mr. Bingley rents anearby estate, it sets off a flurry of excitement in the Bennet household. Jane and Mr. Bingley quickly developfeelings for each other, but their relationship is threatened by the interference of Mr. Darcy, a proud and aloof gentleman.Meanwhile, Elizabeth Bennet, the second eldest sister, clashes with Mr. Darcy from their very first meeting. Their initial animosity gradually gives way to a grudging respect and, eventually, to a passionate love. However, their path is not without its obstacles, as Darcy must overcome his pride and Elizabeth her prejudice to find happiness together.Keira Knightley shines in the role of Elizabeth Bennet, capturing the character's intelligence, wit, and independent spirit. Matthew Macfadyen is equally excellent as Mr. Darcy, conveying both the character's hauteur and his underlying vulnerability. The supporting cast is also exceptional, with Donald Sutherland as Mr. Bennet, Brenda Blethyn as Mrs. Bennet, and Rosamund Pike as Jane Bennet. One of the most striking aspects of the film isWright's beautiful visuals. The countryside is depicted inall its lush glory, and the costumes and sets are meticulously accurate, creating a truly immersive experience for viewers. The film's score, by Dario Marianelli, is both sweeping and intimate, perfectly complementing the emotional journey of the characters. However, it is Austen's timeless themes that truly make "Pride and Prejudice" so enduring. The film explores the complexities of love, class, and prejudice, and through the characters of Elizabeth and Darcy, shows how these barriers can be overcome.Elizabeth Bennet is a proto-feminist heroine, a woman who refuses to conform to the expectations of society. She is intelligent, independent, and outspoken, and her refusal to marry for convenience is a testament to her strength of character.Darcy, on the other hand, represents the upper classes and the established social order. He is proud and aloof, but beneath his cold exterior lies a kind and compassionate heart. His journey is one of learning to let go of hispride and accept the love of someone who does not fit into his predetermined mold.Through the relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy, the film explores the theme of prejudice. Elizabethinitially judges Darcy based on his appearance and demeanor, while Darcy underestimates Elizabeth due to her lowersocial status. However, as they get to know each other, they realize that their initial prejudices were unfounded."Pride and Prejudice" is not just a romantic comedy; it is also a commentary on the social and economic realitiesof the Regency period. The film depicts the limited options available to women of the time, and the pressure they faced to marry well. It also shows how class distinctions could create barriers between people, even those who are deeplyin love.Ultimately, "Pride and Prejudice" is a story of lovethat triumphs over all obstacles. It is a timeless classic that continues to resonate with audiences today because it explores the universal themes of love, class, and prejudice.Joe Wright's film adaptation is a visually stunning and emotionally compelling rendition that captures the essence of Austen's novel and brings its characters to life in a way that is both faithful and utterly captivating.。

The film, Pride And Prejudice, told the story of different treatments about marriage by five daughters in Bennett family, showed girls' different attitude between marriage and love who born in the township middle-class family, and also reflected the eighteenth century marital status of British aristocrats. Although their family was not very rich and had any social eminence, Mrs Bennett was deliberately finding the marriage opportunities between five daughters and high society and the aristocratic.
The heroine Elizabeth was smart and witty, courageous, visionary, highly self-esteem, and good at thinking. It is because of these qualities so that she has an independent opinion on the issue of love. Elizabeth refused Darcy's courtship before acceptance that still further showed her defiance of marriages without love. Darcy's arrogant manner made Elizabeth misunderstand and prejudice him. Darcy realized this, changed the kind of proud and arrogant demeanor in the past, eliminating Elizabeth's prejudice against him. They gradually understood each other, lifted prejudices, abandoned meaningless values of decency, and finally realized and loved each other's virtues, thus fulfilling a happy marriage with him.
Gentle and considerate sister Jane and powerful Bentley, although their marriage does not rule out the appearance and family considerations, mainly also based on the basis of love. On the contrary, Elizabeth's friend, Sherlock, who thinks she was not beautiful besides had no money, chosen to combine with silly and superficial Collins for economic reasons. Although, Charlotte and Collins had a comfortable material life, they didn’t have love, this marriage was actually covered in the cloak of social tragedy.
The film reflected author's own view of marriage: it is wrong to marry for property, money and status; and it is also foolish to marry without regard to the above. Mrs Bennet is a microcosm of society at that time among most people, love is not a reliable luxury for them, they only think of materials and the value of power. Similarly, Elizabeth's sister, Lydia, as well as her father's marriage is unfortunate, for they were confused by the beauty of appearance, while ignoring the moral character. They regret for their choice all life. Therefore, the author opposed marriage for money, and also opposed to regard marriage just as a trifling matter. She emphasized the importance of ideal marriage, and regards the feelings of both men and women as the cornerstone of the ideal marriage.
Through the film, we learned the true meaning of marriage is love. Love and marriage are the constant theme of human beings. Marriage should be based on love, while marriage with money, beauty appearance or desires is difficult to be happy. And
through mutual understanding, throwing aside vanity and prejudice, with excellent character, we can build a happy marriage.。
