Yet, even as I reflect upon the glories of our past, my mind cannot help but turn towards visions of an even brighter future for my beloved homeland. With each passing year, I find myself filled with renewed hope and optimism, for I truly believe that the greatest chapters in my country's story have yet to be written.Firstly, I harbor an earnest desire for my nation to continue along the path of economic progress and prosperity. Over the past few decades, we have witnessed an unprecedented period of growth and development, with millions being lifted out of poverty and our cities blossoming into thriving metropolitan centers. However, there is still work to be done in ensuring that the fruits of this economic boom are distributed equitably amongst all sectors of society. My dream is for every citizen, regardless of their background or circumstances, to have access to decent employment opportunities, affordable housing, and a comfortable standard of living.Closely tied to this is my aspiration for furthering the cause of education and knowledge. A well-educated populace is the bedrock of any truly progressive society, and I fervently hope that my country will continue to invest in its educational infrastructure, from primary schools to universities andvocational training centers. Every child, no matter how remote their village or how humble their origins, should have the chance to receive a quality education and unlock their full potential. For it is through the nurturing of young minds that we will cultivate the innovators, scientists, artists, and leaders of tomorrow. In addition to economic and educational advancements, I dream of a future where my nation is a shining beacon of environmental stewardship and sustainability. I envision my country at the forefront of this global effort, pioneering cutting-edge green technologies, promoting renewable energy sources, and safeguarding our rich biodiversity and natural resources. Through collective action and a shared commitment to environmental preservation, we can ensure that our children inherit a world that is healthy, vibrant, and brimming with life. Moreover, I harbor a deep-seated hope that my nation will continue to champion the values of peace, harmony, and international cooperation. In an increasingly interconnected world, it is crucial that we foster strong bonds of friendship and mutual understanding with other countries and cultures. I dreamof a future where diplomacy and dialogue take precedence over conflict and confrontation, where our nation serves as a mediator and peacemaker on the global stage. By promoting intercultural exchange and celebrating our diversity, we can build bridges of understanding that transcend borders and ideologies.Closely related to this is my aspiration for my country to be a bastion of human rights, social justice, and inclusive governance.I envision a society where every individual, regardless of their gender, ethnicity, religion, or personal beliefs, is treated with dignity and respect, and where the fundamental freedoms of speech, assembly, and expression are zealously guarded. I dream of a nation that empowers its marginalized communities, upholds the rule of law, and ensures that the voices of all its citizens are heard and valued in the democratic process.Furthermore, I hold a fervent wish for my homeland to be at the forefront of scientific and technological innovation. In an era where knowledge and information are the true currencies of power, it is vital that we nurture a culture of curiosity, inquiry, and cutting-edge research. I dream of my nation producing groundbreaking discoveries and inventions that push the boundaries of human understanding and improve the lives ofpeople around the world. From advanced medical treatments to sustainable energy solutions, from artificial intelligence to space exploration, the possibilities are limitless when we harness the power of human ingenuity and intellectual pursuit.Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, I hope that my country will always remain a beacon of cultural vibrancy and artistic expression. Our rich tapestry of traditions, customs, and artistic forms is a treasure that must be zealously safeguarded and celebrated. I envision a future where our ancient heritage is not only preserved but also dynamically reimagined and reinterpreted for modern times. I dream of a thriving arts scene, where writers, musicians, dancers, and artists from all walks of life can freely express themselves and contribute to the cultural fabric of our nation. These are but a few of the hopes and dreams that I harbor for my country's future. Yet, as lofty and ambitious as they may seem, I truly believe that we possess the collective will, determination, and resilience to make them a reality. For in the hearts and minds of every student, every citizen, burns an unwavering love for our homeland and an unshakable belief in its boundless potential. As I look towards the horizon, I am filled with a profound sense of optimism and excitement. The road ahead may be long and fraught with challenges, but I know that by working together, by embracing the values of unity, compassion, and perseverance, we can overcome any obstacle and build a nation that is truly worthy of our dreams. A nation that is prosperous, equitable, and sustainable. A nation that champions knowledge, innovation, and artistic expression. A nation that serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the entire world. This is the future that I envision for my beloved homeland –a future that is nothing short of extraordinary. And as a student, it is my solemn pledge to dedicate myself wholeheartedly to making this vision a reality, for it is we, the youth of today, who hold the keys to unlocking the boundless potential of tomorrow. Together, let us march forward with unwavering determination, and usher in a new era of greatness for our cherished nation.篇3A Brilliant Future for My Beloved NationAs a student growing up in this great nation, I often find myself dreaming of what the future may hold for my beloved homeland. I look around and see a country that has undergonean incredible transformation, rising from the ashes of dynasties past to reclaim its rightful place as a powerhouse on the world stage. Yet I know that this is merely the beginning - that even greater glories lie ahead if we continue on our unwavering path of development and progress. In my mind's eye, I envision a future China that has solidified its position as a global leader across all fields. A nation whose immense economic might is respected and renowned the world over, built upon foundations of innovation, entrepreneurship, and an unsurpassed work ethic. Our bustling cities will be marvels of modern architecture and urban planning, their skylines stretched towards the heavens yet their streets clean, green and livable. Meanwhile, our rural countryside will blossom under sustainable agricultural techniques, ensuring bountiful harvests without further taxing our precious environment. This economic renaissance will be driven by our unquenchable thirst for knowledge and tireless pursuit of cutting-edge research and development. New industries will continuously emerge from our institutes of higher learning and high-tech hubs, spawning revolutionary products and disruptive technologies that change the world. Our mastery of artificial intelligence, renewable energy, telecommunications, aerospace, biotechnology and more will be second to none. A new generation of Chinese companies and consumer brands will be avidly embraced and coveted across continents.Yet for all our grand material successes, the China of tomorrow will still be defined by the wisdom, compassion and spiritual depth of its people. Our ancient cultural heritage - stretching back thousands of years through innumerable dynasties - will remain the nurturing bedrock from which modern Chinese values and societal norms grow. We will remain committed to the core tenets and moral fortitude that allowed our civilization to thrive for millennia even as we transform ourselves to meet the demands of a new era.Respect for education, elders and family will still be paramount. The wonders of classical Chinese arts, philosophies, literature and traditions will be zealously curated and passed down to new generations. At the same time, we will be a people firmly rooted in the present, embodying the entrepreneurial hustle and innovative spirit needed to propel us into an ever more hyper-connected, hyper-competitive global landscape. Most importantly, we will remain a fundamentally harmonious and benevolent force, eschewing conflict and instead dedicatingourselves to being a cooperative partner dedicated to the greater peace and development of all humanity.Such buoyant optimism for the future is grounded in the tremendous economic, social and technological progress my country has witnessed during my lifetime thus far. But it is about more than just statistics, megaprojects and scientific breakthroughs - it stems from an underlying, unwavering faith in the hard work, resilience and noble character of the Chinese people themselves.Throughout our tumultuous history of dynasties rising and falling, foreign occupations, civil wars and revolutions, our people have been subjected to periods of both unimaginable hardship and extraordinary triumph. Yet we have endured it all with an almost supernatural tenacity, never losing sight of our core identity or the grand civilization we were destined to revive and carry forward into a new golden age. This fortitude was embodied by the pioneering martyrs who sparked our national revival, the revolutionary forefathers who freed us from a century of humiliation under imperial powers, the wise reformers and daring capitalists who kickstarted our economic rebirth, and the selfless workers and farmers whose sweat and toil built the foundations for our modern renaissance. They fought against all odds, overcoming famine, poverty, war, and oppression through sheer willpower and an indomitable belief in the ultimate ascendancy of the Chinese nation and people.Their heroic sacrifices and indefatigable persistence have bestowed upon us - their descendants - the incredible privilege and responsibility of realizing that dream in its full glory. To honor their struggle is to continue driving ever onward and upward as a nation. To repay their sacrifices by making the most of the liberties and opportunities they secured for us at so much personal cost. We owe it to these ancestors to craft the most glorious chapter yet of the Chinese renaissance. This is the thrilling future I envision for my homeland - a prosperous, powerful, and pre-eminent nation fueled by the dynamism and industry of its people. One where the ancient splendor and wisdom of our cultures blends seamlessly with the cutting-edge thought leadership we cultivate in all arenas of human endeavor.A China that confidently embraces its role as a benevolent great power, dedicated to being a cooperative partner in tackling the biggest challenges facing our planet and all of humanity. A responsible stakeholder that helps maintain global peace andsecurity while providing developing nations with models of sustainable development to emulate. An unshakable force for stability in a turbulent world, yet also an endless well of compassion that extends aid wherever needed.Ultimately, the destiny I dream of for the future China is one where we have fulfilled the Chinese renaissance in totality - restoring our nation to its historical career as a admired and enlightened global civilization at the forefront of human progress. A return to our rightful place as the Middle Kingdom enlightening and uplifting the world around it, not through conquest or coercion, but through inspiration and a ceaseless spirit of self-strengthening.As a proud son and patriot, I have undying faith that this future is not just a distant possibility, but an inevitability that is finally being realized during my own lifetime. The signs of renewal and rejuvenation are all around us - in our high-tech megacities, our world-class infrastructure, our growing economic and military clout, and our swelling global soft power. Now is the time for all my fellow countrymen to muster the same fort。

这句话可以这样译:“He admires the President’s stated decision to fight for the job.”

• An analytic language is characterized by a relatively frequent use of function words, auxiliary verbs, and changes in word order to express syntactic(句法的) relations, rather than of inflected form.
(萧红《永久的憧憬和追求》) • When I was twenty, I fled home. Since then I have been wandering around like a hobo. • When I was twenty, I fled home. And so far I still live the life of vagrant.

A Chat about MarriageYu DafuThe other day, Mr. Lin Yutang said something to the effect that women’s only career lies in matrimony. Now, an eminent French writer declared at a press interview after arriving in Shanghai that men should stay bachelors if they want to achieve success in life.Washington Irving was a confirmed bachelor, but in his Sketch Book there is an article extolling the wife as a graceful and lovely life-long partner. Charles Lamb, also a single man, in A Bachelor’s Complaint of the Behaviour of Married People, one of his essays signed “Elia”, speaks mockingly of married people with their inevitable postnuptial fruits —the children. Marriage or no marriage, which is more desirable? That sounds like the chicken-and- egg question, which, though often discussed, remains a perpetual puzzle. Generally speaking, one who has no family dependants is not supposed to rent a house, one who has no petticoat influence in the government should refrain from becoming an official, an unmarried male writer is in no position to writer about “my wife”. All these seem to hint at the advantage of marriage. But, to get married, you need to have five perquisites, namely, money, leisure, employment, good looks and potentness, of which all are not always available. What is more, after your marriage, your offspring will come to this world of themselves. And in a world with overpopulation, economic crisis, educational bankruptcy and deteriorating public morals, they may, just as Charles Lamb says, through their own acts of indiscretion, be sent to the gallows. With such a terrible misfortune befalling your family, how could you still have wedded bliss to speak of?Thinking the matter over and over again, I cannot but come to the conclusion that neither matrimony nor bachelorship has anything to recommend itself.

I was born into the family of a small landlord in a small county town in 1911. For being located in Heilongjiang Province, the northeastermost part of China, the county town was in a snowing world for 4 months a year.

My father often satisfied his own avarice yet at the cost of humanity. He treated his servants, sons and daughters as well as my grandpa alike with meanness and estrangedness, even to the degree of ruthlessness.

Once, father drove a tenant’s whole set of horse cart home just because he couldn’t pay the room rent. The tenant’s family turned to my grandpa, cried and told him the whole thing and even dropped their kneels before him, so grandpa unharnessed the two brown horses and gave back to them.

This triggered off an overnight quarrel between my father and grandfather. “These two horses mean nothing to us, yet they are as much important as the life of the poor.” Grandfather said like that, but father was still quarrelling. When I was 9, mother passed away, which even more distorted my father. Father would shout and curse the man to tremble who remissly broke a cup. Afterwards, father’s glance became more horrible. Every time I walked by him, his glances made me feel being pricked by needles all over. He would cast a sideway glance at you with superciliousness trickling down from his nose bridge off the corner of his mouth.

So every snowing dusk, I would hang round the stove and grandpa, listening him reading poems and gazing at grandpa’s reddish lips while reading poems.

Whenever beaten by father, I would go to grandpa’s room, looking out of the window from dusk till midnight——the snowflakes sailing in the air just like white cotton; the kettle lid on the stove rattling just like a musical instrument as aaccompaniment. Grandpa would put his wrinkled hands on my shoulder time and again and then on my head. Such voice came into my ears:“快快长吧!

”“grow up! Be quick! When you grow up, everything will be all right.”

I escaped from father’s house at 20 and have lived a vagabond life since then.“长大”是“长大”了,而没有“好”。

“A grown-up as I had become, yet not “all right” as everything is.

But what I learned from grandpa is that there still existed warmth and love in life besides coldness and hatred.

That’s the warmth and love in life that I cherish everlasting hope and pursuit. My Everlasting Dream and PursuitXiao Hong一九一一年,在一个小县城里边,我生在一个小地主的家里。

In 1911, I was born into a petty Landlord family in a remote county town in Heilongjiang Province - a town situated virtually at the northeastern tip of China. We had snow there for as long as one third of a year.

Father, driven by avarice, often became very unfeeling. He would treat his servants, his own children and even my grandpa alike with meanness and indifference, not to say with ruthlessness.

Once, due to a dispute over house rent, he took away by force a tenant's horse-drawn cart and drove it home. The tenant's family came to see grandpa and, dropping to their knees, tearfully related their troubles. Grandpa unharnessed the two chestnut horses and retuned them to tenant.

That touched off a night-long quarrel between father and grandpa. “The two horses mean nothing to us, but everything to the poor,” argued grandpa. Father, however, refused to listen. Mother died when I was nine. From then on father went from bad to worse. Even a mere cup accidentally broken by someone would send him into such a violent rage that we all shivered with fear. Later, whenever I happened to walk past him, he would even have his eyes directed sideways, which made me feel like being pricked all over on thorns. When he looked askance at me, superciliousness gushed from his eyes down the bridge of his nose and then off the corners of his mouth.
