DESCRIPTIONThe Megger MWA3xx Transformer Winding Analyzer is anadvanced 3-phase transformer test system delivering portability, reduced set-up time, increased job-site safety, and effortless productivity. The MWA3xx provides complete ratio, phase and winding resistance measurements for a 3-phase transformer. All ratio and winding resistance tests are performed in one instrument, with only one 3-phase lead-set connection. The MWA3xx utilizes PowerDB as a single software platform saving the user additional time with only one set-up and one easy-to-use test form. The MWA3xx effectively tests:n Power transformers n Distribution transformers nCTs and VTs (PTs)n Motors/generatorsTESTING PERFORMEDThe following tests are easily performed with the MWA3xx, all with one instrument and one 3-phase lead-set connection.n 3-phase turns ratio n 3-phase winding resistancen OLTC/continuity (make-before-break) n 3 phase core demagnetization n Magnetic balance / flux distribution n Excitation currentn Polarity and phase angle deviation n Auto vector detection nHeat-run test3-Phase test connection (no interconnect boxes)3-Phase, 2-Winding Transformers - Resistance on all six windingsOnce connected, the MWA3xx performs DC resistance measurements on all high- and low-side windings withoutreconnection. The test procedure is simple and efficient. Delivering eight-terminal/six-winding resistance measurement capabilitywithout the need for inter-connect boxes saves the user time by testing all six windings without having to disconnect and reconnect leads. The far-end of the measurement cable set is connected to each bushing/terminal of the transformer using a patented adjustable (100 mm – 4 in. opening) Kelvin clamp. This adjustable clamp removes the need for traditional dual leads (I & P) per phase, reducing the connections from 16 to 8 without the worry ofmisconnecting potential (P) for test current (I). The near-end of the cable is connected to the MWA3xx. Selected resistances of bothMWA300/330A3-Phase Ratio and Winding Resistance AnalyzernCombines TTR and resistance testing in one box - faster, more efficient testing n55% smaller, 40% lighter than individual instrumentsnOnly one set of leads required - lighter, smaller and less expensiven One test form - easier, faster to complete n Built-in demagnetizationMWA3xx3-Phase Ratio and Winding Resistance AnalyzerMWA330A with built-in 12-in industrial computer, shown above.HV and LV windings will then be measured. The test sequence can be selected as 6-winding with dual injection simultaneous winding magnetization, up to 4-winding measurement of HV and LV separately, or single-winding test.3-Phase turns ratioComplexity in the measured ratio versus nameplate ratio occurs with most three-phase power transformers due to multipliers, such as √3, which are required to match the measured ratio to the nameplate ratio. Additionally, transformers with zig-zag windings are handled correctly with internal compensation allowing usersto compare nameplate to actual with no corrections needed. The MWA3xx automatically applies the appropriate multiplier which provides a direct comparison to the nameplate ratio.Excitation currentThe excitation current test at low voltage is very useful in locating problems such as defects in magnetic core balance, in magnetic core structure, shifting of windings, failures in the turn-to-turn insulation, or problems in tap changers.Winding balanceWinding balance (also referred to as magnetic balance) is performed to assess the health of the windings, core assembly condition, and flux distribution within the transformer. This test, performed safely and efficiently by the MWA3xx, is a measure of how well balanced (electrically) the transformer is versus nameplate specifications. Check with the factory to ensure your vector group is available with this feature.Phase angle deviationPhase angle deviation is the phase relationship between in-phase vectors of the high-side windings versus the low-side windings. The phase deviation denotes the quality of the core and the winding and should exhibit very low values (0.01 degrees) when the core and windings are functioning properly. Shorted turns, a deteriorated, or damaged core can cause significant changes in the phase deviation values.LTC (OLTC) continuityIn normal LTC operation, continuity between the internal LTC contacts is maintained throughout each complete transition (from one tap position to the next). To check for this continuity, the MWA3xx continually monitors the transition current for each tap position. Any slight discontinuities are detected and reported. Vector recognitionWhen the transformer nameplate data is unavailable, or to confirm compliance to specified nameplate configurations, the MWA3xx provides the capability for automatic vector group detection. PolarityThe MWA3xx quickly and efficiently checks for correct polarity between high and low side windings.Automated heat-run interval testingThe MWA3xx performs automated single or multi-core heat run testing. It uses the standard accepted methods, IEC60076-2-1993 & C57.12.90 2013, for this test, allowing users to perform factory testing automatically. Reports included within software also meets IEEE and IEC standard requirements but does allow manipulation to fit individual customer requirements.Auto core demagnetizationIn order to avoid problems related to core saturation, the MWA3xx comes standard with a core demagnetization function which safely demagnetizes the transformer core after DC testing.PowerDB™ SoftwarePowerDB software provides the unit with a common “user interface” to minimize operator training and provides a seamless interface to the computer application – PowerDB Lite. Two Interface OptionsExternally controlled – MWA300The MWA300 is a “black box” style package that is remote-controlled by PowerDB software running on an external PC (not provided).Built-in 305 mm (12 in.) touch-screen computer –MWA330AThe optional built-in touch-screen computer software provides an industrial, high visibility screen for use on any day – bright or cloudy – and works under the toughest environments.

It is highly integrated and can be used in many decentralized applications. The module can be mounted on the back of NEMA34 (86mm flange size) stepper motors and has been designed for coil currents up to 6.5A RMS (programmable) and 24V DC supply voltage. With its h igh energy efficiency from TRINAMIC’s coolStep™ technology cost for power consumption is kept down. It can be used for stall detection as well as other uses at loads below those which stall the motor. The stallGuard2 measurement value changes linearly over a wide range of load, velocity, and current settings. At maximum motor load, the value goes to zero or near to zero. This is the most energy-efficient point of operation for the motor.Load [Nm]stallG uard2Initial stallG uard2 (S G ) value: 100%Max. loadstallG uard2 (S G ) value: 0Maximum load reached. Motor close to stall. Motor stallsFigure 1.1 stallGuard2 load measurement SG as a function of loadcoolStep ™coolStep is a load-adaptive automatic current scaling based on the load measurement via stallGuard2 adapting the required current to the load. Energy consumption can be reduced by as much as 75%. coolStep allows substantial energy savings, especially for motors which see varying loads or operate at a high duty cycle. Because a stepper motor application needs to work with a torque reserve of 30% to 50%, even a constant-load application allows significant energy savings because coolStep automatically enables torque reserve when required. Reducing power consumption keeps the system cooler, increases motor life, and allows reducing cost.00,10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,9050100150200250300350E fficiencyVelocity [R P M]E fficiency with coolS tepE fficiency with 50% torque reserveFigure 1.2 Energy efficiency example with coolStep2Order CodesTable 2.1: TMCM-1181 order codesA cable loom set is available for this module:Table 2.2 Cable loom order code3Mechanical and Electrical Interfacing3.1TMCM-1181 Dimensions and Mounting HolesThe dimensions of the controller/driver board are approx. 86mm x 86mm x 27mm in order to fit on the back of a 86mm stepper motor. Maximum component height (height above PCB level) is around 22mm above PCB level and 3mm below PCB level. There are four mounting holes for M4 screws (4.2mm diameter) for mounting the board to a NEMA34 / 86mm stepper motor.Figure 3.1: Dimensions of TMCM-1181 and position of mounting holes3.2Board mounting considerationsThe TMCM-1181 offers one metal plated mounting hole close to the power supply connector (marked yellow in figure 3.1 above). This mounting hole is connected to board supply ground. Please keep this in mind when mounting the board to the rear side of a motor. All other mounting holes are isolated.3.3 Connectors of TMCM-1181The TMCM-1181 offers five connectors including the motor connector which is used for attaching the motor coils to the electronics. There is one power connector, two connectors for serial communication (one for USB and one for RS485) and one connector for I/O signals and switches.Motor C onnector1412P ower connectorIn/O ut connector1814Interface connector US B connectorFigure 3.2 Overview connectors3.3.1Power ConnectorA 2pin JST VH series 3.96mm pitch connector is used for power supply.21Table 3.1 Connector for power supply3.3.1.1Power SupplyWhen using supply voltages near the upper limit, a regulated power supply is mandatory. The board includes around 2000µF / 35V of filtering capacitors. Nevertheless, especially at higher motor current settings it might be necessary to add additional filtering capacitors externally. Power supply ripple due to chopper operation of the driver should be kept at a maximum of a few 100mV.It is important that the upper supply voltage limit is never exceeded during operation as this might seriously damage the driver stage. In this context special care has to be taken with regard to motor energy being fed back into supply voltage line when the motor works as generator. This might happen during de-acceleration or brake conditions especially when the motor is moving a larger mass (high inertia). Additional capacitors which are able to absorb energy might help here. Beyond that suppressor diodes or even brake resistors might be a solution.Guidelines for power supply:-keep power supply cables as short as possible-use large diameters for power supply cables-add additional filter capacitors near the motor driver unit especially if the distance to the power supply is large (i.e. more than 2-3m)3.3.2Motor ConnectorA 4pin JST VH series 3.96mm pitch connector is used for motor connection.14Table 3.2: Motor connector14Table 3.3: Interface connectormicrocontrollerIN4Figure 3.3 Internal circuit of analog input IN418Table 3.4 In/Out connector* It is possible to enable / disables pull-ups (1k to +5V) in software for all three digital inputs. All these valves are widely used in water system, petroleum, chemical, power plant and allied industries.1.2 SAFETY INFORMATIONThe following general safety notices supplement the specific warnings and cautions appearing elsewhere in this manual. They are recommended precautions that must be understood and applied during operation and maintenance of the equipment covered herein.a. Always wear eye shields, gloves and overalls. Wear protective footwear and headgear.b. To avoid injury, never attempt disassembly while there are pressures either upstream, or downstream. Even when replacing packing rings, caution is necessary to avoid possible injury.c. Do not attempt to disassemble a valve while there is pressure in the line. Make sure both upstream and downstream pressures are removed. Disassemble with caution in the event all pressures have not been relieved. d. Prior to replacing packing rings remove all pressure from the valve.e. To prevent valve distortion, inefficient operation, or early maintenance problems, support piping on each side of the valve.f. Do not touch surface of valve on high temperature.g. Valves are not to be used with unstable fluids.h. If provided, the Locking device on the handle is to avoid improper use of the valve by unauthorized people. This can be locked with a patch lock.V Z B D -_-S 5_W 3-16-T -2-_ | 812012CDA/2013CDADate Nov.02,2018Document No. HIM-131Page22. 2.1 MATERIAL SELECTIONThe possibility of material deterioration in service and the need for periodic inspections is depended on the contained fluid. Carbide phase conversion to graphite, oxidation of ferrite materials, and decrease in ductility of carbon steels at low temperature (even in applications above 29°F) and susceptibility to inter-granular corrosion of austenitic materials or grain boundary attack of nickel-base alloys are among those items. Information about corrosion data is provided in this I.O.M, the user is requested to take attention or consideration to determine if the used materials are suitable for the application.2.2 PRESSURE-TEMPERATURE RATINGThe Pressure-T emperature rating, published by manufacturer is usually considered an appropriate guide to the maximum temperature and pressure those ball valves may withstand. The principle of pressure-temperature rating is depending on static pressure. For reference client can ask the valve distributor or manufacturer for assurance of suitability when ball valves are subjected to the following conditions:- Valves are left closed for long periods of service under high-temperature or high-pressure service conditions - Valves are operated frequently for long periods with high-temperature or high-pressure service conditions.2.3 FLUID THERMAL EXPANSIONIt is possible, with the ball in closed condition; the sealed cavity inside the valve body is filled with liquid. If this liquid is not released, by partially opening the valve, and the valve is subject to a temperature increase, excessive pressure can occur inside the body. These HAITIMA ball valves have self-relieving pressure seats to prevent pressure built up. Our client is recommended to prevent a pressure build-up inside the valve exceeding the design pressure, by means of piping design, installation, or operation procedure.2.4 HYDROSTATIC TESTBefore delivery, all valve body’s are tested 1.5 times the working pressure in open position. After installation, the pipeline system may be subject to a system test not to exceed the above mention pressure.(For example: 1000 WOG is hydrostatic tested 1.5 X 1000 = 1500 psi testing pressure)V Z B D -_-S 5_W 3-16-T -2-_ | 812012CDA/2013CDADate Nov.02,2018Document No. HIM-131Page32.5 LIQUIDS WITH HIGH FLUID VELOCITYWhen ball valves must be operated frequently on liquids with very high velocity, a check shall be made with the valve distributor or manufacturer for appropriate advice to minimize the possibility of seat deformation, especially when working pressure and temperature is reaching maximum ranges.2.6 THROTTLING SERVICEStandard ball valves are generally not recommended for throttling service. The fluid flow can damage the leading edge of the ball and/or damage or deform the resilient ball seats causing leakage. High fluid velocity and/or the presence of solid particles in the media will reduce the lifetime of seat and ball during throttling applications.2.7 DIRECT MOUNTING PADISO 5211 direct mounting pad and stem orientation allows direct mounting for actuator to valves, no brackets and couplers are required, making automation a lot easier with improved performance.V Z B D -_-S 5_W 3-16-T -2-_ | 812012CDA/2013CDADate Nov.02,2018Document No. HIM-131Page43. 3.1 STORAGE3.1.1 Temporary StorageIf valves are to be stored before installation, the following should be observed.a. Keep the valves wrapped and protected as shipped from the manufacturer.b. Do not remove the plastic bag or protective end covering until the valve is ready for installation. This will reduce the possibility of foreign material damaging internal valve components.c. Valves stored outdoors should be positioned such that water dose not accumulate in the valve body.3.1.2 Long Term StorageIf the valves are to be stored more than of one year, they should be prepared in the following manner.a. Remove the packing and apply a preservative to the packing chamber.b. Do not remove the protective end covering.c. Valve which will remain in storage for an excessive period of time should have a preservative applied to the external surface.d. Do not store the valves outdoors.3.2 PREPARATIONa. Remove the plastic bag or valve end protection (if any).b. Prior to shipment from the manufacturer, a preservative may have been applied to the inner body of the valve. This preservative maybe removed with a solvent.c. The inside of the valve should be inspected and blown out with compressed air. Adjacent piping must be clean and free from debris to prevent damage to the valve.d. To prevent valve distortion, inefficient operation or early maintenance problems, support piping on each side of the valve.e. Make sure the valve is positioned such that there is sufficient space so that the handle is easily and safely reached.f. The 3 piece ball valves can be installed in any position without regard for the direction of the flow, unless marked in the flow direction.g. The 3 piece ball valves are not designed for throttling and should be kept in the fully open or closed position. Should the valve be used in a partially open or closed position, the ball and seats may become eroded in a very short time. This may also cause a chatter noise in the line.V Z B D -_-S 5_W 3-16-T -2-_ | 812012CDA/2013CDADate Nov.02,2018Document No. HIM-131Page54.1 OPERATIONHAITIMA valves provide tight shut off when used under normal conditions and in accordance with pressure/temperature chart. If these valves are used in partially open (throttled) position seat life may be reduced. Any media which might solidify, crystallize or polymerize should not be allowed to stand in the ball valve cavities unless regular maintenance is provided.4.2 MANUAL OPERATIONThe basic type of handle which is fitted to all sizes of valve is sheet steel with integral stop. The 3 pieces ball valves have 1/4 turn operation closing in a counter-clockwise direction. It is possible to see when the valve is open or closed by the position of the handle. When the handle is across the pipeline, the valve is closed.V Z B D -_-S 5_W 3-16-T -2-_ | 812012CDA/2013CDADate Nov.02,2018Document No. HIM-131Page65.1 INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCEA periodic inspection and maintenance schedule should be established for each valve. The time frames given for theimplementation of these schedules are to be used as a guide only in establishing routine inspection and maintenance schedules. Exact time periods for performing these procedures cannot be provided due to the unknown nature of the service conditions each valve is in. 5.1.1 Periodic InspectionA periodic inspection should be performed on each unit. The time frame should be adjusted depending on usage and service conditions. An infrequently used unit may have more time between inspections than a valve in constant service. A periodic inspection should include the following:a. Open and close the valve. The actions should be smooth without any binding of the stem and ball through full travel.b. If valve is in service and under pressure:(1) Examine the body to caps connection for leakage through the gasket. If leakage is found, tighten the bolt nuts evenly in a star pattern until the leakage slops. Do not exceed the maximum torque values in Table 3. If the leakage persists, see section 5.2(2) Check the stem packing for any leakage during the opening and closing action. If a leak is found tighten the gland nut alternately with no more than a quarter turn on it until the leak stop. If the leakage persists, see section 5.2 (3) Inspect the exterior of the valves for cleanliness. Remove any dirt, grime or oil from the valve body and caps.5.1.2 Post InspectionAfter completion of a periodic inspection, valves that are providing satisfactory service require no further disassembly or inspection. Should a valve be found which is not performing satisfactorily, see section 5.2 "Trouble-Shooting". 5.1.3 MaintenanceOther than periodic inspection, no routine maintenance is required. Routine replacement of parts, such as gasket and packing is not usually performed until required. Once in service, it may become apparent that these and other parts require repair or replacement due to usage and service conditions. A maintenance schedule should be developed taking these conditions into consideration. Parts can be replaced during a routine overhaul.V Z B D -_-S 5_W 3-16-T -2-_ | 812012CDA/2013CDADate Nov.02,2018Document No. HIM-131Page75.2 TROUBLE-SHOOTINGThe following chart will cover the various problems which are common to most valves. The resistance of this stack perpendicular to the layers is dependent on the orientation of an external magnetic field compared to a fixed axis. The substrate for this stack is an antiferromagnetic layer. Above this layer there is the so called pinned layer which is a ferromagnetic layer that has a fixed magnetization in a fixed direction. The direction of this magnetization defines the reference direction and it cannot be changed by an external field. Above this pinned layer there is a very thin, insulating layer with a thickness of only a few Nanometers. Above this insulaing layer another magnetic layer is deposited. The orientation of the magnetization of this so called free layer can be influenced by a external field. The resistance of the whole stack of layers is dependent on angle between the magnetizations of the free and the fixed layer. It can be measured by applying a voltage at conducting electrodes at the top and bottom side of the stack. The resistance of the stack varies between 10 kΩ and 60 kΩ. This resistance range of the MLU is much higher compared to other magnetoresistive technologies like AMR (Anisotropic Magnetic Resistance) und GMR (Giant Magneto Resistance). The field necessary to rotate the magnetization of the free layer is quite small. Most of the TMR-sensors operate below 10 mT, some even below 1 mT.FEATURES OF CT83xx-SERIES• Low power consumption of down to typ. 200nA • High sensitivity of typ. 600 mV / mT @ 3 V• Stable performance over temperature with a linearity error of down to less than ±0.25 %• Open drain or push pull output • SOT23 or LGA packageFEATURES OF CT400 CURRENT SENSOR• High Sensitivity • Differential Outputs• Supply Voltage: 1.0 V to 5.5 V• 6-lead SOT23 package or 6-lead DFN packageAPPLICATIONS OF CT83xx-SERIES• Low power assemblies like metering or general battery driven devices• Tamper-proofing for utility meters • Fluid level detection • Reed switch replacement • Motor controllers• Door closure detectionAPPLICATIONS OF CT400 CURRENT SENSOR • Battery Management Systems • Motor Control • White Goods• Power Utility Meters• Over-Current Fault Protection • Induction Cooking • Renewable EnergyBasically this technology can be used to build magnetic switches or magnetic sensors with analog output. For magnetic switches the current through the MLU is measured and a comparator drives the output stage of the sensor (either open collector or push-pull) high or low, depending on fixed internal threshold values. The most important switch family is the C T83xx-series. Latches, unipolar and omnipolar types with different switching fields are available. Most members of this family work internally in a pulsed mode and this leads to a current consumption down to 200 nA for some types, depending on the duty cycle. However, TMR-sensors can also be used as analog sensors measuring the strength of the magnetic field as well. This allows measuring the distance between a magnet and the sensor. C urrent sensing is also possible with this technology because electrical current always produces a magnetic field.Since this magnetic field decreases very strongly with distance between the conducting wire and the sensor, the TMR-sensors are a good choice for simple current sensors due to their high sensitivity to small magnetic fields. The CT100 is a linear contactless current sensor in full-bridge configuration. The CT100 enables high accuracy current measurements for many consumer, enterprise and industrial applications. The CT100 is a non-intrusive current sensor that can be adapted to measure different current ranges.TMR-Sensor : Resistance depends on the orientation of the external magnetic field relative to the internal fixed magetization (blue arrow)Layer structure ofthe Magnetic Logic UnitAPPLICATIONS• Industrial Control Interfaces • Dash Boards • Digital Signage• Interactive Classrooms • Meeting RoomsPrecise optical bonding processes combined with chemically etched glasses and super high brightness backlights contribute a perfect readability in all environments. Additionally, reflections are reduced by the chemically etched cover lens with anti-glare coating. In direct sunlight, bright enlightened shopping centers or industrial workshops, the displays’ quality is always crystal clear. Also, Faytech guarantees zero dead pixels at all TFT-displays! As option, an ambient light sensor can be integrated enabling automated backlight dimming, e.g. at night time. Equipped with various interfaces these monitors can be connected to any computer system.
