店铺分享1000字左右的英语故事,希望可以帮助大家!1000字左右的英语故事:Hungry for Your LoveIt is cold, so bitter cold, on this dark, winter day in 1942. But it is no different from any other day in this Nazi concentration camp. I stand shivering in my thin rags, still in disbelief that this nightmare is happening. I am just a young boy. I should be playing with friends; I should be going to school; I should be looking forward to a future, to growing up and marrying, and having a family of my own. But those dreams are for the living, and I am no longer one of them. Instead, I am almost dead, surviving from day to day, from hour to hour, ever since I was taken from my home and brought here with tens of thousands other Jews. Will I still be alive tomorrow? Will I be taken to the gas chamber tonight?Back and forth I walk next to the barbed wire fence, trying to keep my emaciated body warm. I am hungry, but I have been hungry for longer than I want to remember. I am always hungry. Edible food seems like a dream. Each day as more of us disappear, the happy past seems like a mere dream, and I sink deeper and deeper into despair. Suddenly, I notice a young girl walking past on the other side of the barbed wire. She stops and looks at me with sad eyes, eyes that seem to say that she understands, that she, too, cannot fathom why I am here. I want to look away, oddly ashamed for this stranger to see me like this, but I cannot tear my eyes from hers. Then she reaches into her pocket, and pulls out a red apple.A beautiful, shiny red apple. Oh, how long has it been since I have seen one! She looks cautiously to the left and to the right, and then with a smile of triumph, quickly throws the apple over the fence. I run to pick it up, holding it in my trembling, frozen fingers. In my world of death, this apple is an expression of life,of love. I glance up in time to see the girl disappearing into the distance. The next day, I cannot help myself-I am drawn at the same time to that spot near the fence. Am I crazy for hoping she will come again? Of course. But in here, I cling to any tiny scrap of hope. She has given me hope and I must hold tightly to it.And again, she comes. And again, she brings me an apple, flinging it over the fence with that same sweet smile. This time I catch it, and hold it up for her to see. Her eyes twinkle. Does she pity me? Perhaps. I do not care, though. I am just so happy to gaze at her. And for the first time in so long, I feel my heart move with emotion. For seven months,we meet like this. Sometimes we exchange a few words. Sometimes, just an apple. But she is feeding more than my belly, this angel from heaven. She is feeding my soul. And somehow, I know I am feeding hers as well. One day, I hear frightening news: we are being shipped to another camp. This could mean the end for me. And it definitely means the end for me and my friend. The next day when I greet her, my heart is breaking, and I can barely speak as I say what must be said: "Do not bring me an apple tomorrow," I tell her. "I am being sent to another camp. We will never see each other again." Turning before I lose allcontrol, I run away from the fence. I cannot bear to look back. If I did, I know she would see me standing there, with tears streaming down my face.Months pass and the nightmare continues. But the memory of this girl sustains me through the terror, the pain, the hopelessness. Over and over in my mind, I see her face, her kind eyes, I hear her gentle words, I taste those apples. And then one day, just like that, the nightmare is over. The war has ended. Those of us who are still alive are freed. I have lost everything that was precious to me, including my family. But I still have the memory of this girl, a memory I carry in my heart and gives me the will to go on as I move to America to start a new life.Years pass. It is 1957. I am living in New York City. A friend convinces me to go on a blind date with a lady friend of his. Reluctantly, I agree. But she is nice, this woman named Roma. And like me, she is an immigrant, so we have at least that in common."Where were you during the war?" Roma asks me gently, in that delicate way immigrants ask one another questions about those years."I was in a concentration camp in Germany," I reply.Roma gets a far away look in her eyes,as if she is remembering something painful yet sweet."What is it?" I ask."I am just thinking about something from my past, Herman," Roma explains in a voice suddenly very soft. "You see, when I was a young girl, I lived near a concentration camp. There was a boy there, a prisoner, and for a long while, I used to visit him every day. I remember I used to bring him apples. I wouldthrow the apple over the fence, and he would be so happy."Roma sighs heavily and continues. "It is hard to describe how we felt about each other-after all, we were young, and we only exchanged a few words when we could-but I can tell you, there was much love there. I assume he was killed like so many others. But I cannot bear to think that, and so I try to remember him as he was for those months we were given together."With my heart pounding so loudly I think it wil1 explode, I look directly at Roma and ask, "And did that boy say to you one day, 'Do not bring me an apple tomorrow. I am being sent to another camp'?""Why, yes," Roma responds, her voice trembling."But,Herman, how on earth could you possibly know that?"I take her hands in mine and answer, "Because I was that young boy, Roma."For many moments, there is only silence. We cannot take our eyes from each other, and as the veils of time lift,we recognize the soul behind the eyes, the dear friend we once loved so much, whom we have never stopped loving, whom we have never stopped remembering. Finally, I speak: "Look, Roma, I was separated from you once, and I don't ever want to be separated from you again. Now, I am free, and I want to be together with you forever. Dear, will you marry me?"I see that same twinkle in her eye that I used to see as Roma says, "Yes, I will marry you," and we embrace, the embrace we longed to share for so many months, but barbed wire came between us. Now, nothing ever will again.Almost forty years have passed since that day when I foundmy Roma again. Destiny brought us together the first time during the war to show me a promise of hope and now it had reunited us to fulfill that promise.Valentine's Day, 1996. I bring Roma to the Oprah Winfrey Show to honor her on national television. I want to tell her infront of millions of people what I feel in my heart every day:"Darling, you fed me in the concentration camp when I was hungry. And I am still hungry, for something I will never get enough of: I am only hungry for your love."1000字左右的英语故事:风趣Some years ago, I happened to be living on an old farm in OK. I restored the old, 100 year old hen house and started my own flock. Before I was done, I had 200 laying hens plus the roosters.Call me crazy, but when I was buying babies, I happened across a local bird breeder and got 2 female and 1 male turkey.About the same time, my girls had started laying eggs, a neighbor's teenage son helped me to build a hutch for the tiny wild rabbits, I had rescued and raised. Evidently, sometime during the day, one of my 'turkey girls' (snoopy) was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Her middle toe was broken. It had to be those heavy work boots, the boy was wearing.I noticed her standing in the middle of the yard, barely limping, when all the rest of the birds were herding themselves off to the house at dusk. I examined her, then picked her up and carried her to the henhouse. She couldn't jump up to the roost, so I held her while she got her balance. The next morning, all the birds came running out for breakfast. All but Turkey Girl. Realizing she was crippled with a painful toe, I lowered her down to the feed. Then later, seeing shewasn't joining the crowd, chasing around and grabbing for bugs, I picked her up and carried her over the the front yard, so I could keep an eye on her.Every time she eyed a bug, before she could make it over to where that bug was, 10 chickens had already pounced on it. This broke my heart and I decided to help her out. I went hunting.I came back with one of those huge grasshoppers in my fist.I held my fist out toward her, so she could see this little head peeking out and said, "Gotcha One". She plucked it out of my fist.Pretty soon, my day was occupied with fetching grasshoppers for Turkey Girl. Each time, I'd call out to her, "Gotcha One".About the third day, Mr. Boss Man Rooster, caught on to what I was doing, raced across the yard and plucked that grasshopper out of my fist, so fast I didn't even see it coming. Dirty Rat! I went and got another one. Same thing. I went and got 2! With one in each fist, I managed to get one of them to Turkey Girl, before he realized there was another one to have. Before long, I found myself, strolling down the dirt road, along these Pecan trees and shrubs, with a plastic bag, collecting a whole slew of grasshoppers. The attack was on. Returning to the yard, not only Mr. Boss came running to meet me, so did about 50 chickens, all determined to be first in line. Haha...I managed to get 5 of them into Turkey Girl. So there! One day, I was about a block down that little dirt road, had collected a whole plastic bag full of grasshoppers and decided to cut across the wheat field, to the house. A short-cut.This was a huge, squared off field of wheat. I climbed over the fence and started toward the house, when something caughtmy eye. Just a few feet behind the house, something white flickered in the green carpet of wheat. I walked on. A few seconds later, I saw that flash of white again but closer to me. I walked on. Then, about half the way across the wheat field, I saw that flash of white again, but this time I recognized it. Mr. Boss He was running through the wheat, then popping up ever now and then to get a lock on my location.Oh, no you don't! I couldn't believe my eyes. As he got closer, I raised the plastic bag, full of grasshoppers, high above my head. He caught up with me and the whole rest of the trip, was me defending my treasure, holding it up where he couldn't reach, and him jumping up higher and higher, as we went.I finally reached the yard, walked around to the front where the chickens were and yelled out to Turkey Girl, "Gotcha one", while I lowered the bag, only to discover....it was EMPTY AAAAAAaaaaah! Now Turkey Girl, stood before me anxiously and I had nothing! "I'll be right back".Two weeks passed, since her toe was broken, when I suddenly discovered, one day, that she had been feigning her wound. For how long?Aaw...and they tell me turkeys are stupid?1000字左右的英语故事:有着恋母情结的俄狄浦斯A prophet warned King Laius of Thebes that because he had married his cousin Jocasta,he would be killed by his son.T o avoid the disaster,he ordered his loyal shepherd to kill his newborn baby son.The good hearted slave, however, could not bring himself to do the evil deed. 考研英语二(阅读)模拟试卷53(题后含答案及解析)全部题型 2. 阅读理解阅读理解Despite its name, Smugglers’Gulch is one of the toughest places to sneak into America. The narrow valley near San Diego is divided by a steel wall and watched day and night by agents of the border patrol, who track would-be illegal immigrants with the help of helicopters and underground pressure sensors. Rafael, a cement worker, has already been caught jumping over the fence five times. Yet he still wanders on the Mexican side of the fence, waiting for nightfall and another chance to cross. How much longer will he keep trying? “Until I get through,” he says. Last week the Senate tried, and failed, to deal with the problem of illegal immigration. After much debate it abandoned a bill that would have provided more money for border security but also allowed many illegal immigrants to obtain visas. Yet the collapse of the Senate bill does not mean illegal immigration will go away, either as a fact or as an urgent political issue. Indeed, one likely consequence will be an outbreak of ad hoc law-making in cities and states. One such place is Arizona, where the governor, signed a bill this week imposing rigid penalties on employers who hire illegal immigrants. Those who are caught once will have their licenses suspended; a second offence will put them out of business. Even the governor admits the bill is too broadly drawn and will be hard to enforce. She signed it, she explained, because the federal government has shown itself to be incapable of dealing with illegal immigration. One in ten workers in Arizona is illegal, according to the Pew Hispanic Centre. So the law, if rigorously enforced, could disrupt the state’s economy, which suggests it will not be. One landscape gardener in Scottsdale who worked illegally for three decades and now pays illegal workers $7 an hour thinks the measure is ridiculous. “Who else is going to pick lettuces and trim trees in this heat?” he asks, pointing to the sun on a 47°C day. He has no plans to change his ways, and says he will simply move if he is caught. Laws such as Arizona’s will make life more unpleasant and unpredictable for illegal workers. But they will not curtail either illegal immigration or illegal working as much as supporters claim. In any case, the border has been so porous for so long that people now have plenty of reasons to steal across it other than work. Of five aspiring immigrants who spoke to the correspondent in Smugglers’ Gulch earlier this week, three were trying to join their families.1.We can learn from Paragraph 1 that _____.A.people are misled by the name Smugglers’ GulchB.Smuggler’s Gulch is the toughest entrance to steal into USAC.Rafael will continue his risky attempt to jump the fenceD.Smuggler’s Gulch is secured by advanced tracking tools正确答案:C解析:事实细节题。

I had been staring at the fence for weeks, wondering what was on the other side. I knew I wasn't supposed to climb over, but the curiosity was eating away at me.I waited until the sun went down, and then I made my move. I found a sturdy tree near the fence and used it to boost myself up. As I reached the top, I hesitated for a moment, but then I pushed myself over and landed on the other side with a thud.I felt a rush of excitement as I looked around. It wasa whole new world on the other side of the fence. The grass was greener, the air felt fresher, and I felt like I was in a different universe. I wandered around for hours, exploring every nook and cranny. But then, reality hit me. I realized that I had broken the rules, and I would have to face the consequences. 禁止翻围栏英文作文
禁止翻围栏英文作文I saw a sign that said "Do not climb over the fence" and I thought to myself, why not? It's just a fence, what's the big deal? But then I realized that rules are there for a reason, and maybe it's not safe to climb over the fence. The thing is, I've seen people climbing over the fence before and nothing bad happened to them. So why should I listen to the sign? Maybe it's just there to make people feel like they have to follow the rules, even if it doesn't really matter. But then again, if everyone starts climbing over the fence, it could cause damage to the fence and then it wouldn't be able to do its job of keeping things out or in. So maybe it's important to respect the fence and not climb over it.On the other hand, if there's a good reason for me to climb over the fence, like if someone is in danger on theother side, then maybe it's okay to break the rule. Sometimes rules are meant to be broken in certain situations. But then again, if I start breaking this rule, where does it end? What other rules will I start breaking because I think they don't apply to me? Maybe it's better to just follow the rules and not climb over the fence. In the end, I guess it's important to consider the reasons behind the rule and use my best judgment. Maybe there are times when it's okay to break the rule, but most of the time it's there for a good reason and it's best to just follow it.。

Major themes of her works:
Dickinson left no formal statement of her aesthetic intentions and, because of the variety of her themes, such as interpretation of life, love, art and death , her work does not fit conveniently into any one genre. She has been regarded, alongside Emerson ,as a Transcendentalist. Apart from the major themes discussed above, Dickinson's poetry frequently use humor, puns, irony and satire.
Theme
The poet wishes to break away from the worldly shackles(束缚物) and to pursue the free and innocent life.
Symbolism
Strawberries: It’s the eye of this poem. It symbolizes all the beautiful things and things people desire to get. Strawberries stands for some kinds of temptation and mysterious expect, but all these are forbidden by God or convention. God: Embodiment of authority. Personification of traditional thoughts.

Over the fence- Strawberries- grow - Over the fence- I could climb- if I tried, I know - • Berries are nice! • • • •
eagerness who wants the nice strawberry, which leaves readers the space of imagination. The poet describes naive girl’ s psychological activities when she suddenly sees the nice strawberries over the fence. The girl wants to pick it very much . “I could climb if I tried”. But she is afraid that if she stains her apron, the God would scold her. “Berries are nice”. The girl is intensely tempted by the strawberry while she could not climb through the fence to get it . Then she begins to suppose that if the God was a boy, he could not help climbing the fence to pick the strawberry.
b. The short poem vividly presents an innocent
girl whose idea is also innocent and she has a complicated inner heart struggling between the temptations of nice strawberries and the fear of being blamed. At last the girl guesses that if God is a boy, he would fail to resist temptation of strawberries just as the little girl herself.
c. We can see that Dickinson has described a girl who would be in trouble for staining her apron, but also climbing a fence. These are things that \”good girls”\ do not do. By stressing the word \”Boy”\ at the end of the poem we see how it would be fine for God to climb the fence if he is a male.
Question:
Will the God climb through the fence?
Over the fence 《篱笆那边》
(1830 – 1886)
A.she was an American poet and was born in a successful family with strong community ties.
B. She lived a leisure and simple life and kept single all her life. C. She wrote 2000 poems, but only seven of them published in her life time.
• But -if I stained my Apron- • God would certainly scold! • Oh dear,- I guess if He were a Boy - • He‘d - climb - if He could!
Analysis of the poem
a. This short and plain poem depicts a girl of
Fence represents some forbidden rules to
restrict the girl’s action and contains her eagernes s of inner heart. Fence was also an obstacle that the God has created for killing people’s eagernes s. Therefore strawberries refer expectations that are forbidd en by the God. The poet couldn’t resist the temptation of strawberry. She wishes God was a boy who has a n innocent heart. This poem shows a kind of complicated psychological feeling and the life expectation.
