你在何等程度上同意或不同意?考生文章Nowadays, there are lots of advertisements on television or on the streets. Some people think that the advertising boosts the sales of goods and it encourages people to buy things unnecessarily. This arguments may be true. In my country, many advertising companies produce advertisements with famous and popular actors or singers. People, especially youngsters, buy goods that their favourite singer advertise, although they do not really need the products. Also, on the television screen, a product may look gorgeous and good quality. As a result of it, people often buy goods without enough consideration. Consumers may not actually need it but they buy goods impulsively soon after they watch the advertising. Furthermore, as many customers buy a particular product due to its advertising campaign, the other people may be affected by the trend, even if the product is not of the real needs of the society. On the other hand, there are various aspects against these arguments. Moreover, it is people's choice to make a decision to buy goods. Advertising may be not a cause of customers' buying habits. Individuals have their own spending habits. If they have got enough disposable income, then the right to make a decision is given to them. No one actually can judge whether the goods sold are the real needs of the society or not.In addition, as there should be a limited amount of disposable income consumers are able to spend, people try to allocate their budgets. They cannot be simply swayed by those advertisements. In conclusion, as customers have their own strong opinions andstandard of good quality goods, it is better to leave them to make their own decision in buy goods. It is fairly difficult to say everyone is swayed by advertising and buy good impulsively. However, in sensitive area of businesses such as toy industries, it may be necessary to band advertising to those children as children have not got enough ability to control themselves or to know what they need.参考译文现在电视上和街道边的广告越来越多了。

雅思(写作)模拟试卷157(题后含答案及解析)

雅思(写作)模拟试卷157(题后含答案及解析) 题型有:1.1.Some people think that good health is very important to every person, so medical services should not be run by profit-making companies. Do the disadvantages of private health care outweigh the advantages?正确答案:As an increasing number of people are aware of the importance of good health, the conflict between the ever-growing demand for high quality medical service and the insufficient public medical facilities has been worsened and this issue has been receiving much more attention than ever before. Most of us may thereby form an unrealistic picture about private health care which has been advocated as the best solution so far. However, I firmly believe the disadvantages of private health care outweigh its advantages. Most private health care centres are profit-oriented and indifferent to others’sufferings. It is universally agreed that the prime goal of a hospital is to save lives and cure those in need. However, most owners of private health care centers, just like shop-owners, just aim at making as much money as possible and this runs against the basic principles of hospitals. Newspapers have reported repeatedly cases of some private hospitals refusing to save the lives of poverty-stricken patients, manifesting that some private health care centers are indeed problematic in nature. Furthermore, contrary to what the general public believe, a large number of private health care centres are not qualified enough to practice medical service. In some private hospitals, though the cost of treatment is higher than that in most public hospitals, patients often cannot receive the service promised in advertisements. What is more terrifying is that some so-called doctors in those hospitals have no work experience at all and even their diplomas are fake ones. Last but not the least, the government’s administration and supervision over private hospitals are often inadequate. Once obtaining the license, some private hospitals would do anything only if it is profitable. Aggravated by inadequate and inefficient inspections and evaluations from the government, many severe consequences have resulted from time to time. To sum up, though nowadays private health care centres are playing an indispensable role, they are not without their inborn shortcomings. Before those problems mentioned above can be solved, it is still too early to talk about transferring most of the medical service to profit-making hospitals.2. A government’s role is only to provide defence capability and urban infrastructure (roads, water supplies, etc.). All other services (education, health, social security) should be provided by private groups or individuals in the community. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?正确答案:Government can only provide a limited range of services forcitizens. Certain types of service, however, must be provided by governments, whereas both governments and private groups or individuals can share the responsibility to provide other services. Government must provide those services which are essential to a country. These include defence capabilities and social security. Private enterprise and the profit motive should not form part of these essential services. On the other hand, some services could be provided by either governments or private groups or both. Education and health care are examples of such services. A government must provide at least a basic level of education and health care so all citizens can have access to them. Private enterprise, though, could also provide services in these areas for those who wish to pay for them. Urban infrastructure is another area where government and private groups or individuals can share responsibility. Governments must build and maintain a system of roads, but toll roads can be built and road maintenance can be carried out by private contractors. Similarly, other infrastructure, such as water or electricity supply, can be operated by private companies. To sum up, there are some services such as defence and social security which must be provided by government. Other services, for example water supply or education, could be provided by both. A government’s role is only to provide some services while others should be provided by the private sector. In fact, both government and private groups can share in the provision of most services.。

The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.(分数:2.00)__________________________________________________________________________________________ 正确答案:(正确答案: The graph illustrates changes in the amounts of beef, lamb, chicken and fish consumed in a particular European country between 1979 and 2004. In 1979 beef was by far the most popular of these foods, with about 225 grams consumed per person per week. Lamb and chicken were eaten in similar quantities (around 150 grams), while much less fish was consumed (just over 50 grams). However, during this 25-year period the consumption of beef and lamb fell dramatically to approximately 100 grams and 55 grams respectively. The consumption of fish also declined, but much less significantly to just below 50 grams, so although it remained the least popular food, consumption levels were the most stable. The consumption of chicken, on the other hand, showed an upward trend, overtaking that of lamb in 1980 and that of beef in 1989. By 2004 it had soared to almost 250 grams per person per week. Overall, the graph shows how the consumption of chicken increased dramatically while the popularity of these other foods decreased over the period.) 解析:3.You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. The line chart below shows the percentage of people in different age groups who played video games more than ten hours a week between 1984 and 2003. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make(分数:2.00)__________________________________________________________________________________________ 正确答案:(正确答案: The chart above documents the results of a near-twenty year study of men who reported spending more than ten hours a week playing video games, taken between the years of 1984 and 2003 and divided between the ages of 7-14, 15-24, 25-34 and 35+. Generally, the chart shows an upward trend in acceptance of video games among men of this culture, while the age categories didn't change position in relation to each other. 15-24 year olds played the most video games overall, with just under 20% in 1984 rising to 50% in 2003. Despite some rocky patches in the 90s, no-one enjoyed video games more than 15-24 year olds, although it looked like 7-14 year olds would in 1984, when they trailed 15-24 year olds by only a few percent. However, after a steady increase, around 35% said they enjoyed them in 2003. The 25-34 year olds valiantly tried to enjoy video games, with the closest other age groups getting being 1992. Finally, we have the over 35s, a group that started with a near 0% interest in games in 1984, but grew to 20% in 2003. One can only predict that as the current generation of gamers grows older, this number can only increase.)解析:4.You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. The chart below gives information about the growth of urban population in certain parts of the world and includes predictions for the future. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where(分数:2.00)__________________________________________________________________________________________ 正确答案:(正确答案: The chart shows the number of people living in cities in three continents over three time periods, as a percentage of the overall population. In 1950, 30% of the humanities were urban residents across the world. Compared to this, both Asia and Africa had fewercity-dwellers than the world average; Asia failing to reach 20%, with Africa not far behind it. In Latin America and the Caribbean, meanwhile, 40% of the population lived in cities. This general trend continues over the years. In 2000, urban migration increased worldwide, with almost 50% of the world's population living in cities. Following the general pattern outlined above, around 40% of the Asians and Africans lived in cities, while Latin America and the Caribbean outstripped the world average by a clear 20%—nearly 70% of their population had moved to cities. By 2030, city-living will be the norm for 60% of the humanities. Africa and Asia will finally tip over the 50% mark, with marginally more Asians living in cities than their African counterparts. On the other hand, nearly 80% of people in Latin America and the Caribbean will have moved to urban areas by 2030.)解析:5.You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write at least(分数:2.00)__________________________________________________________________________________________ 正确答案:(正确答案:The graph shows the percentage of a country's dependent population—those below the age of 15 or above the age of 65—in the year 2000 and a projected number for 2050. The percentage of dependents in India, Indonesia, China, Korea and Japan are placed against that of the world average, which stood at around 25% in 2000 and is predicted to exceed 40% of humanity 37 years from now. Of the countries examined, only India is forecast to reduce its overall number of dependents; from around 37% to 30%. Indonesia and China show the least variation, China being the country closest to maintaining equilibrium, with 35% in 2000 creeping marginally up to 37% in 2050. Korea and Japan, meanwhile, are predicted to experience a major increase in their dependency ratios. Japan will go from being roughly equal to Indonesia and China in 2000 to being the only member of the group to outstrip the world average in 2050, with over 45% of its populations dependent on the able-bodied. It is Korea, however, which shows the most drastic shift—rising from 18% (around 5% less than the world average) to 42%, the second-highest in the group, and equal to the estimated world average dependency ratio of 2050.)解析:。

雅思(写作)模拟试卷114(题后含答案及解析)

雅思(写作)模拟试卷114(题后含答案及解析) 题型有:1.1.The development of science and technology benefits our life. Do you think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks?正确答案:The development of science and technology makes our life more comfortable and convenient. However, scientists have created many problems, which are not easy to be resolved, such as air pollution, the deterioration of environment and the scarcity of natural resources, to which we must find some solutions. Modern science and technology render people many advantages. Modern telecommunication shortens the distance between people and makes communication much easier. Internet is widely used now not only for collection of abundant information but also for correspondence. E-mail, the most effective communication device now, is becoming very popular. Besides, telephone and mobile phone make contact more convenient than before. Modern transportation, such as airplanes and high-speed trains make our journey smooth and fast. With the help of modern transportation, people can go everywhere they prefer to. The journey to outer space and other planets is not a dream any more. Rockets and space shuttles can help us realise the dream of space travel. Modern medicine prolongs people’s life and relieves patients of sufferings from many disseases. Cancer and AIDS are fatal to people’s health. Thanks to the endeavors scientists have made, these diseases become treatable. However, the process of scientific development also arouses many severe problems to our human beings. Internet, though widely used in modern communication, is easy to be destroyed by computer viruses. Outer space exploration has produced much waste in the space. A tiny metal, a screw, for example can destroy a flying man-made satellite, industrialisation is making natural resources become scarce. Confronted with these problems, scientists are seeking prompt and feasible solutions. The development of science and technology bring about both positive and negative effects to us. We must eliminate the negative effects to the least extent.2.Do you agree or disagree that technological development is always good?正确答案:Technology threatens and inflicts damage upon our quality of life. The technological developments of this century are creating widespread plagues that could soon destroy the entire world. Let’s take air for example. Due to massive air pollution, what we breathe is not relatively safe like it used to be. The fumes from the exhausted pipes of automobiles, trucks and factories blow waste material into the atmosphere. After a period of time, atmospheric changes occur. The fumes, that are collected in the atmosphere, are slowly eating away at the ozone layer. This layer of the atmosphere is what shields us from solar ultra-violet rays. Once this layer is gone, our natural protection against the sun would be gone, and if we were hit by one ray of the sun, we’d burst into flames and turn into a cinder. Another plague of technology is nuclear power. The power that can energise entire cities with electricity could also be the power to destroy. After 1945, the research on nuclear power has increased significantly. Contrary to the belief that it is safe, nuclear power has a way of destroying the whole city. It is not like a fire that can be put out with water or CO2, but special equipments have to be used. Afterwards that place would remain radioactive for quite a long time, devoid of life and sound. So you see, if technology cannot be halted, our fate is unknown. Our end will not come about by natural means, but by our own technological achievements, and life on Earth would cease to exist.。

WRITING TASK 2WRITING TASK 1You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.1.The diagrams below show the life cycle of a species of large fish called the salmon.正确答案:Salmon begin life as eggs on a pebbly riverbed, hidden among reeds in the slow-moving upper reaches of a river. After five to six months the eggs hatch into ‘fry’. For approximately the next four years, these baby salmon will live in the lower, faster-flowing waters of their river. During this time they measure between three and eight centimetres in length.By the time salmon reach twelve to fifteen centimetres, they are termed ‘smolt’, and at this time they migrate further downriver into the open sea. After five years at sea the salmon will have grown to adult size, which is between seventy and seventy-six centimetres. They then begin swimming back to their birthplace, where they will lay their eggs, and the cycle starts anew.In summary, the salmon passes through three distinct physical stages as it grows to maturity. Each of these stages takes place in a very different aquatic location. It is noteworthy that the first two stages of this fish’s life occur in a freshwater environment, while the third stage is lived in saltwater.

剑桥雅思真题5—写作(Test2 附高分范文)Writing Task 1You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. The charts below show the main reasons for study among students of different age groups and the amount of support they received from employers.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.Write at least 150 words.参考范文1(8分):The first graph shows that there is a gradual decrease in study for career reasons with age. Nearly80% of students under 26 years, study for their career. This percentage gradually declines by 10-20%every decade. Only 40% of 40-49yr olds and 18% of over 49yr olds studying for career reasons in late adulthood.Conversely, the first graph also shows that study stemming from interest increases with age. There are only 10% of under 26yr olds studying out of interest. The percentage increases slowly till the beginning of the fourth decade, and increases dramatically in late adulthood. Nearly same number of 40-49yr olds study for career and interest. However 70% of over 49yr olds study for interest in comparison to18% studying for career reasons in that age group. The second graph shows that employer support is maximum (approximately 60%) for the under 26yr students. It drops rapidly to 32% up to the third decade of life, and then increases inlate adulthood up to about 44%. It is unclear whether employer support is only for career-focused study, but the highest level is for those students who mainly study for career purposes.考官评语:This answer summarises the key features of both charts and integrates them well. Clear trends are identified and supported with appropriately-selected figures. The answer could only be improved by adding an introduction to the general topic of the charts. The information is well organised, with a clearly-signalled progression. Linking words are used accurately and precisely, although there is occasional omission. Paragraphing is used well initially, but lapses in the later section.A very good range of vocabulary is used to convey the information concisely and accurately with only occasional inappropriacy. Words are used precisely and there are no errors in spelling or word form.A wide range of structures is used and most sentences in this answer are accurate. Errors are rare and do not affect communication in this answer.参考范文2(9分):The bar charts compare students of different ages in terms of why they are studying and whether they are supported by an employer. It is clear that the proportion of students who study for career purposes is far higher among the younger age groups, while the oldest students are more likely to study for interest. Employer support is more commonly given to younger students.Around 80% of students aged under 26 study to further their careers, whereas only 10% study purely out of interest. The gap between these two proportions narrows as students get older, and the figures for those in their forties are the same, at about 40%. Students aged over 49 overwhelmingly study for interest (70%) rather than for professional reasons (less than 20%).Just over 60% of students aged under 26 are supported by their employers. By contrast, the 30-39 age group is the most self-sufficient, with only 30% being given time off and help with fees. The figures rise slightly for students in their forties and for those aged 50 or more.参考范文3:The bar chart delineates the ratio of pupils who continue their education for the benefit of their career and from passion based on their age groups. The line graph reveals the ratio of support those students get from their companies as a form of financial support and time off. Overall, young students’ main focus for education is their job while it is mostly passion when they grow older. To illustrate, eight of ten people under 26 years old continue education for their career. Only 10% of them do it from passion. Interestingly, the higher the age, the more eager they become to study for personal interest, not for professional reasons. Seven out of ten people who are at least 50 years old study for interest. Finally, these two factors equally motivate people from 40-49 years old to further their learning. The second diagram shows that young employees who are less than 30 years old get more backing from their employers while the least support is expected for workers between 30 to 39 years old. However, it is interesting to notice that employers are more sympathetic to workers over 40 years old than they are to employees in their thirties.参考范文4:The diagrams outline why students from different age groups study and the support they getfrom their employers. Overall, having a good career is the main reason for young to study while it is personal interest for grown-ups. Moreover, young employees get more support from their employers regarding their education.According to the first bar graph, people who are under 40 years old mostly study for the career while people over 49 years mainly study for their interest. Interestingly for the age group 40 to 49, the number of people who study for career and the number of people who study for interest is the same. 80% students under 26 years continue their education to build a career. 7 out of ten students over 49 years old do so for their interest, rather than the career.Graph 2 shows that more than 60% students under 26 years old get support from their employers for their education and this supports includes the time off and monetary supports they get. This percentage reduces with the increase of age and at 30-39 age group, 32% get the support from the employers. After that, the employers’ support for their employees’ education increases and reaches to 45% for the over 49 year’s age group.Writing Task 2You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.Write about the following topic:In some countries young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies.Discuss the advantages and disadvantages for young people who decide to do this.Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.Write at least 250 words.参考范文1:It is quite common these days for young people in many countries to have a break from studying after graduating from high school. This trend is not restricted to rich students who have the money to travel, but is also evident among poorer students who choose to work and become economically independent for a period of time. The reasons for this trend may involve the recognition that a young adult who passes directly from school to university is rather restricted in terms of general knowledge and experience of the world. By contrast, those who have spent some time earning a living or traveling to other places, have a broader view of life and better personal resources to draw on. They tend to be more independent, which is a very important factor in academic study and research, as well as giving them an advantage in terms of coping with the challenges of student life. However, there are certainly dangers in taking time off at that important age. Young adults may end up never returning to their studies or finding it difficult to readapt to an academic environment. They may think that it is better to continue in a particular job, or to do something completely different from a university course. But overall, I think this is less likely today, when academic qualifications are essential for getting a reasonable career. My view is that young people should be encouraged to broaden their horizons. That is the best way for them to get a clear perspective of what they are hoping to do with their lives and why. Students with such a perspective are usually the most effective and motivated ones and taking a year off may be the best way to gain this.参考范文2:Nowadays, it is quite common that after graduating high school, students will go to travel or work for one year before they go to college. Many people think it is harm for young people but others stand on the opposite side. For this question, there are numerous disadvantages, and also a lot of advantages at the same time.People, who advocate that traveling and working is harmful for students, give their reasons as follows. Knowledge system is complete, if you work or travel for one year between your graduation of high school and start of university, it means that the whole knowledge system is separated into two parts, and when you back to school, it is difficult for you to get into the tense of study. And young people may also squander a lot of time.On the contrary, a growing number of people claim that spending time to work or travel is good for their college study. On the one hand, when high school students stretch their power energy in high school year, they deserve to have time to relax. It is an excellent way for them to be rife with energy and then start their university life. On the other hand, working is a facilitate way to learn about society. It is not only good for their study, but also helpful for them to find a satisfied job after graduation. This issue should be well taken into consideration. As to how to address this problem, I am convinced that it depends on actual situation.。

参考范文:The pie chart and table show how land around the world was degraded during the 1990s –the former on a worldwide scale and the latter in three different regions.Worldwide, over-grazing was the biggest cause of land degradation (35%), with deforestation causing 30% and over-cultivation causing slightly less (28%). Other factors caused 7% of land degradation. The table shows that, during the 1990s, 23% of the land in Europe was degraded, more than in Oceania (13%) and far more than in North America (5%). In Oceania, over-grazing was primarily responsible for land degradation, with deforestation accounting for far less and none caused through over-cultivation. In North America, over-cultivation was the main reason, with about a third of land degradation being caused by over-grazing and very little being caused by deforestation. In Europe, deforestation was responsible for about 40% of the land degradation, over-cultivation about 30% and over-grazing about 20%.To summarise, land degradation was due to three main factors and these factors differed in proportion in different regions.(168 words)饼形图和图表反映了20 世纪90 年代全世界土地的退化情况——前者是针对世界范围, 后者是针对三个不同的区域。

What do you think?正确答案:Some people are critical of keeping pets, such as cats and dogs in cities, claiming that there are simply not even open spaces for them to roam freely. They also argue that pets pollute living environments. However, I am of the opinion that owning pets is rewarding to city dwellers. First of all, they could act as companions and stress relievers and in some cases help to foster family cohesion. While they are traditionally associated with family-type households, pets are just as important to households without children; indeed they are often surrogates for children in childless families. This applies particularly to the elderly, who usually form every close associations with their pets. In an era when the population is aging and more people are living alone, pets can provide valuable relief from loneliness. In addition, pets are particularly important for children. A pet in the family keeps kids in touch with a more natural animal world. Seeing a pet give birth brings understanding of the naturalness of childbirth, and seeing a pet die helps a child to cope with sorrow. Learning to care for a pet helps a child to grow up into a loving adult who feels responsible towards those dependent on him. Rightly we teach children to be kind to their pets. They should learn, too, that pets are good for human beings. People living in the countryside may have access to many types of domestic animals such as cows, horses, and sheep. This is simply not true in cities. Pets can provide a limited opportunity for city dwellers to get in touch with nature. This helps people to become more environmentally conscious. All in all, I strongly feel that those living in cities can benefit from having pets.2.In Western countries, people spend a lot of money on their pets. Some people think this is a waste of money, and argue that pets are dirty and dangerous. Do you agree or disagree?正确答案:In many Western homes people keep dogs or cats or some other kinds of pets. While this does involve some expense in terms of good food and medical treatment, there are still many advantages to keeping a pet. First of all, pets are good companions. This is especially important for people who live alone and for older people who do not go out much. Some pets can also help to protect the house from thieves. Secondly, dogs and cats like to play and can give hours of amusement to children and adults. Taking care of a pet also helps children to develop responsible attitudes and to learn about nature. Finally, the actual expense of keeping a pet is not that high, and they can eat the leftovers of family meals. Some people claim petsare dirty. I don’t think this is totally true. Responsible pet owners keep their pets clean and healthy so they are not smelly. People also say that certain pets, like large dogs, can be dangerous. There have been cases of dogs attacking and seriously injuring small children. However, these cases are uncommon and are the result of bad owners. These people either don’t train their dogs properly or actually encourage them to be aggressive. So, the problems of pets being unclean or dangerous are in fact the problems of the owners, not the pets themselves. To sum up, there are more advantages than disadvantages to keeping a pet, especially for lonely people and children. In most cases, therefore, the cost is justified.。

The diagram shows how chocolate is made. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and by making comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words.正确答案:The diagram illustrates the process used when making chocolate products from cocoa beans. First of all, the beans are cleaned and roasted. Afterwards, they are broken and the shells removed. Then, chocolate liquor is made from the nibs using a process called milling. The chocolate liquor can then be processed in two separate ways, depending on how the end product is to be used. If the end product is cocoa powder of cocoa butter, the liquor goes through alkalisation and fat pressing. Fat pressing produces a substance called presscake and another called cocoa butter. Presscake is broken, ground and sifted into cocoa powder whereas cocoa butter is mixed with chocolate liquor to make chocolate. If the end product is chocolate, the chocolate liquor is combined with milk, sugar, flavouring and some of the cocoa butter produced from fat pressing. The ingredients are mixed and relined before tempering, or cooling, takes place. Afterwards, the chocolate could be moulded into products such as bars of chocolate. Otherwise, It could go to enrobing, where it rovers other ingredients as part of chocolate-coated products.WRITING TASK 2You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.2.WRITING TASK 2 You should spend about 40 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic: Some advertisers have increased the amount of money they spend trying to persuade children to buy snacks, toys and other goods. Parents object to such pressure on their children, but advertisers claim there is useful information in these advertisements. Discuss both points of view and give your own opinion.Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Write at least 250 words.正确答案:There is great concern about the effects of advertisements on adults, but even greater concern about their effects on children. In my opinion, ads dearly aiming to sell products to children should be limited. In this essay, I will give my reasons for thinking this. One reason that parents object to advertising pressure on children is that children are more likely than adults to be influenced by non-factual aspects of advertising, such as bright culours and famous stars appearing in ads. This can lead to children wasting money (either their own or their parents) onthings that they don’t really need. The way in which advertisers continually focus more on non-factual aspects of advertisements also suggests that advertisements are not so concerned with informing people as they claim. Another problem as far as parents are concerned, is that advertisers spend much more money on advertising products that can be unhealthy for children, such as fast food and snack foods. Advertisers claim that they only encourage children to consume such products in moderation, but such messages, if indeed there are any, only appear as minor suggestions in very small print. A third problem for parents is that children often pressure their parents to buy them things, often simply because their friends have them. This can be particularly distressing for parents, since kids often try to associate the number of things their parents buy them with how much their parents love them, which is simply untrue and unfair. Parents who are on low incomes will obviously find the pressure even greater. Advertisers may claim that there is useful information in their ads, but this is very hard to discern. Many advertisements show stars playing sports or people enjoying themselves. It is hard to justify the suggestion that drinking a certain drink will turn you into a sports star or that eating a bar of chocolate will suddenly turn you into a fun person. To conclude, I think that parents are right to be concerned about how advertisements affect their children.。

However, some people think that it causes too much damage to the local environment and culture. What do you think?正确答案:Tourism, as a multibillion-dollar business, is booming everywhere. Some people, labouring under the belief that tourism serves as an engine of economic growth, seem to ignore its negative effects on the environment and culture. But I think that these are not concerns that we can shrug off lightly. Over the past century, with the development of new transportation means, travel has become easier than ever. Many popular places are flooded with visitors, who spoil the beauty of nature by creating and leaving behind God-knows-how-much trash. In addition, a lot of unsightly artificial facilities have been and continue to be built in order to promote tourism, with disastrous effects on the environment. Another drawback of tourism is the conducted tour, which greatly restricts the exposure of tourists to local culture, and contributes little to mutual understanding between nations and cultures. On the contrary, the superficial impressions tourists get during such tours only intensify their stereotyped ideas about other cultures. On the other hand, the foreign ways introduced by travelers may well have an adverse impact on the local people, who tend to be susceptible to the influence of more advanced cultures. In the long run, the uniqueness of individual cultures will be wiped out by such homogenisation. But don’t get me wrong. I am not saying that the tourism industry shall be banned in any country, as it does help to shore up the economy in places which offer few sources of income, the significant point is that the unchecked growth of the travel business may render the development of an economy unsustainable. So steps have to be taken to prevent the iocal culture from being “contaminated”or even engulfed by other cultures. It is high time that we did something to rectify this by taking the environment and cultural protection into account.2.Does the lottery do more good than harm? What is your opinion?正确答案:For better or worse, the lottery has become a part of our life. There are, it is true, people who worry about the negative effects the lottery may have, but I believe it does more good than harm. First of all, the lottery is an effective way to raise money for welfare programmes and other public projects. Although taxes have traditionally been the main source for such undertakings, people pay taxes grudgingly, and increasing taxes is time-consuming and may result in increasing popular discontent. However, people eagerly buy lottery tickets, and so, so long as itis well regulated, the lottery can serve as an important source of state revenue. For average people, especially those who have no salable skills, the lottery might be the only opportunity for them to get rich-even to become a millionaire overnight. For instance, a friend of mine has been in financial trouble for many years. The other day, he hit the jackpot by selecting the winning number in the lottery. Now he is the richest guy in our community, and is leading a life he never even dreamed of before. With some people, their enthusiasm fa the tottery is not about money but about fun. They don’t care about winning or losing; they just like to choose numbers and watch the results. They enjoy the excitement of analysing the possibilities. For them, buying lottery tickets is just one of their hobbies. Some people are concerned that the lottery may encourage laziness and gambling. But evidence from the countries where public lotteries are legal does not justify this worry. In fact, in China the lottery has turned out not to be a monster but something beneficial. In conclusion, experience has shown that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.。

Overall, there are seven stages in the process, beginning with the digging up of clay and culminating in delivery. To begin, the clay used to make the bricks is dug up from the ground by a large digger. This clay is then placed onto a metal grid, which is used to break up the clay into smaller pieces. A roller assists in this process.Following this, sand and water are added to the clay, and this mixture is turned into bricks by either placing it into a mould or using a wire cutter. Next, these bricks are placed in an oven to dry for 24-48 hours. In the subsequent stage, the bricks go through a heating and cooling process. They are heated in a kiln at a moderate and then a high temperature (ranging from 200℃to 1300℃), followed by a cooling process in a chamber for 2-3 days. Finally, the bricks are packed and delivered to their destinations.WRITING TASK 2You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.2.Some people say that the best way to improve public health is by increasing the number of sports facilities. Others, however, say that this would have little effect on public health and that other measures are required. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.正确答案:A problem of modern societies is the declining level of health in the general population, with conflicting views on how to tackle this worrying trend. One possible solution is to provide more sports facilities to encourage a more active lifestyle.Advocates of this believe that today’s sedentary lifestyle and stressful working conditions mean that physical activity is no longer part of either our work or our leisure time. If there were easy-to-reach local sports centres, we would be more likely to make exercise a regular part of our lives, rather than just collapsing in front of a screen every evening. The variety of sports that could be offered would cater for all ages, levels of fitness and interests: those with painful memories of PE at school might be happier in the swimming pool than on the football pitch. However, there may be better ways of tackling this problem. Interest in sport is not universal, and additional faculties might simply attract the already fit, not those who most need them.Physical activity could be encouraged relatively cheaply, for example, by installing exercise equipment in parks, as my local council has done. This has the added benefit that parents and children often use them together just for fun, which develops a positive attitude to exercise at an early age.As well as physical activity, high tax penalties could be imposed on high-fat food products, tobacco and alcohol, as excessive consumption of any of these contributes to poor health. Even improving public transport would help: it takes longer to walk to the bus stop than to the car.In my opinion, focusing on sports facilities is too narrow an approach and would not have the desired results. People should be encouraged not only to be more physically active but also to adopt a healthier lifestyle in general.解析:本例与上例稍有不同,题目提到的两种观点不是完完全全对立的。

雅思(写作)模拟试卷89(题后含答案及解析) 题型有:1.1.Some people think that studying in a college or university is the best way for students to prepare for future career. But others think they should leave school as soon as possible to develop their career through work experience. What is your opinion?正确答案:While some people think that the best way to get prepared for future career is studying in a college or university, there are others who hoid that one should leave school as early as possible and develop his career through work experience. In this essay, I will discuss the two views from the following aspects. Firstly, going to college is very useful. One needs to learn and acquire a lot of fundamental and theoretical knowledge that will prove to be of practical significance in his future career development. In this respect, a college education can well serve as a means to the end. It is not hard to reckon that the theoretical and fundamental knowledge one acquires at college will at least help broaden his vision and horizon and thus give him the edge over those who have not done so. Secondly, one’s success, especially financial success, is not determined by whether or not he has been educated in college. It seems that work experience and opportunity play a more important role. I have quite a few friends who merely managed to finish primary or junior high school and went into business right away. Some of them struck rich in a few years and are now managing very large companies which employ over 1,000 workers, most of their employees being college graduates. However, our society is undergoing fast development and changes, thus raising higher and higher requirements for knowledge. In this context, people’s education levels gradually reveal their corresponding advantages and disadvantages. So far as employment is concerned, those who have received a college education naturally have more chances than those who have not. And in terms of the new models of achieving success, tremendous fortune is increasingly related to the trend of scientific and technological development, fully demonstrating the value of college education. So, even though there are quite some stories of successful people without a college education, we can assert from the development trend of the world that this will become rarer and rarer. Therefore, if one has the chance, it is more advisable for him to go to college.2.Some people believe that students who want to go to university after graduation from high school should have about one year’s time to get a job to obtain work experience or have a travel to enlarge their vision. Do you agree or disagree? What’s your opinion?正确答案:In most countries, most high school graduates go directly touniversity. Some people oppose this practice. They claim that students should get a job or have a travel for one year before starting their university education, they argue that, by this way, students can obtain work experience and their sights can be enlarged. However, I doubt whether the arguments could hold much water. First, it is a waste of time. Since students are in their formative years, the main task of students is to study hard and learn what is needed for the development of our nation. The knowledge and skiils which they have gained in high school are surely inadequate. Compared with studying, working and traveling, to some extent, are more relaxing and less painstaking, so after one-year exciting experience outside campus, some young people tend to give up their learning. At least, they cannot concentrate on their studies. It is a great loss to themselves as well as a great misfortune for our country. Second, young students may be hurt psychologically. The job or the trip may expose them to social iils at an age when they cannot differentiate good from bad. their early contact with the complicated society makes them more easily contaminated by unwholesome influence. For example, they maybe become money-oriented. Finally, studying in university can also enrich their social experience and widen their vision. The university is a small society so university students have to communicate with teachers, peers and other people and they have to deal with some problems. During holidays, they can find part-time jobs and go out to travel. In conclusion, students should continue their studies after graduation from high school. Social experience can be gained after finishing their studies.。

WRITING TASK 2WRITING TASK 2You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.1.Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.正确答案:There are many good reasons which can explain this phenomenon. First, in the market economy once successful sports stars gain their popularity and become the idols of the public, many companies want them to be the image agents for their products; as a result, their income is soaring. Second, it is also the reward of the efforts and sacrifice sports professionals and their family members pay for their success. Sports stars are those out of thousands who work the hardest and also the luckiest. From the perspectives of free market economy and sports themselves, it seems fair. However, the healthy and fast development of society can only be achieved on the foundation that different fields develop and make progress together in harmony. Some other essential professions, such as science, medicine, education and so on, play an equal, perhaps even more significant role in promoting the development of society. For instance, what great contributions Newton and James Watt made in the first industrial revolution! Therefore, based on a wider horizon, it seems unfair. 涉及知识点:大作文2.Research shows that overeating can be just as harmful as smoking. Thus the advertising of certain food products should be banned as cigarette advertising is banned in many countries. To what extent do you agree or disagree? (2014-11-13)正确答案:Overeating can lead to obesity, being seriously overweight, and this is an increasing health problem, which is as serious as the effects of cigarette smoking. The latter has become less fashionable, partly due to bans on advertising and smoking in public places, but there is still a long way to go to stop it altogether. Obesity has not been seriously addressed. Obesity leads to all manner of difficulties for the individual. Finding outsize clothes, not fitting into airline and bus seats, and discrimination in the job market are all problems faced by such people. Far worse is the threat of serious health problems, such as diabetes, strokes and cancer, which all have a huge cost to the individual, their family and the community as a whole. One suggestion as to a solution for this problem is to ban advertising of certain foods, mainly junk or unhealthy food, and this could be done either voluntarily or as a result of legislation. If advertising encourages people to buy, which it must do, a ban would help, but this alone is likely to be insufficient to prevent obesity. It is important to consider why people overeat, or eat unhealthy food, and try to addressthese problems. This may well be difficult as there are many causes. For some people a limited budget means they need to buy cheaper food, which might not be healthy. Lack of time to shop properly and prepare food is a difficulty, especially in cities where people live a long way from good food shops. Ignorance of cooking methods and nutritional needs are cited by others and seem to be a problem. Parents taking the easy way out and giving their children food that they know they will eat rather than providing healthy, nutritional food is another. TV dinners, fast food and not eating together as a family all encourage this. Portion sizes in restaurants and takeaways all contribute, as do supermarket ‘buy one, get one free’ offers. All these things need to be discouraged. To balance this, there needs to be a huge campaign to get children to accept healthy habits, knowing about growing food and keeping animals and reducing waste are all part of it. Adults need to know how to prepare and cook nutritious food. Food labelling is important, but people need to know what to look for. There are a number of pressure groups that try to persuade people to eat properly and this is probably more effective than legislation, although this really can help. An alternative view is that such a ban on advertising, which would probably have to be brought about by enforceable government legislation, is not acceptable. People should be responsible for their own health and wellbeing. There is information available from a wide range of sources and there is really no excuse for ignorance of it. However, because of the huge cost to the community in terms of days lost at work, incapacity and serious illness, perhaps the government has to take action and banning the advertising of such undesirable food would be a start. It would have to be done alongside other measures to educate people about food choices and encourage them to eat healthily, whilst at the same time making supermarkets and food outlets take greater responsibility for the effects of their sales methods on their customers. 涉及知识点:大作文3.Some people say that it’s better to teach students language in small classes, while others think the number of people does not matter. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. (2014-12-04)正确答案:Acquisition of language is a very complex phenomenon. A small child absorbs its native language, or if two languages are spoken to it simultaneously (for example by the mother and the father), it can learn two. It is also known that young children learn more easily than adults, which is why Dutch and German children start foreign languages when they start school at 6. For adult learners it is usual to divide the skills required into four groups, reading, writing, listening and speaking. The method of teaching usually depends heavily on the money available, so what is best often means what can be afforded. Reading skills could be taught initially to a larger group of about 30, because a student has to recognise and remember words. Once a higher level is reached where expression is important this is far better achieved in a small group and individually, where the teacher can listen to and correct the reader. Fast, fluent reading can be learnt as a group of about 30 as technique is involved and competent readers can practise themselves.Writing, the actual putting pen to paper, is a motor skill and some students find it easy whilst others find it difficult. It is important that the teacher can see that the letters are properly formed and in the right way, otherwise fast writing is difficult, so a small group is ideal. Once students have mastered the mechanics of writing, they need practice and that can be done at home. The higher skill levels need teaching, and group size is limited by the time available to the teacher to correct and comment on work. Working in a group can make discussion about good words and phrases useful. Listening skills depend on what is available. Listening to a teacher is easier than listening to plays, television programmes or a discussion. More can be achieved with a smaller group because the teacher can judge the level of understanding much better. All these three could, if necessary, be at least introduced to a lecture theatre full of students, but, at a higher level, especially for students who are struggling, much smaller groups, even one to one, is ideal. Speaking is different. A student cannot learn to hold a conversation in a huge group. At a very basic level students can chorus sentences and replies, but real conversation which needs quick thinking is just not possible. It is important that young people learn languages and motivation is a vital key. How they are taught depends on what is available such as language laboratories, computers, books, or native speakers of the target language. In an ideal world teachers would have all this at their disposal and could teach some aspects, like watching a play on video to a large group, but having time and resources to teach very small groups. It is those countries that have most incentive and the best resources who produce the best linguists. 涉及知识点:大作文4.Many museums and historical sites are mainly visited by tourists, not local people. Why is this the case and what can be done to attract local people? (2015-02-07)正确答案:Local people will visit museums and historical sites in their area if they are interested in what they have to offer, and they will probably visit them once, perhaps paying a return visit years later. Tourists, on the other hand, are usually looking for interesting things in the area they arc visiting, and each year there will be different people visiting an area. Inevitably, especially in tourist areas, more tourists than locals visit. Museums and historical sites can do many things to encourage more people, local people and tourists alike to visit. One important factor is appeal to children. If children in a family are happy and occupied, the adults will be too. Museums can put on all sorts of activities, from looking for things and ticking them off on a sheet, dressing up in period costume, hands on science activities, craft activities, activities based on the natural world. Historical sites often feature re-enactments and such age-old skills as weaving, pottery, hawking, cooking and so on. If the site was used to film a well-known series, such as Harry Potter, that increases its appeal. Adults too are often attracted by re-enactment days and the opportunity to try new activities. Museums sometimes have additional exhibitions, especially of items loaned from other countries or areas, such as the exhibition of terra cotta warriors from China that came to London. People who would not normally havegone to the British Museum would go to see such an exhibition. Historical sites can do such things as re-enact a battle or siege, or sometimes use the ruins as an interesting backdrop for a play or concert. These special events often make provision for older people, such as reduced prices, and sometimes chosen themes are chosen that appeal especially to older people, such as Loughborough’s Main Line Steam trains 1940s days. English heritage sites offer free visits to groups of older people—and school groups too. Facilities such as buggies to transport people less able to walk will also attract people, as will good quality teashops! Using the museum or site for other cultural events such as concerts, lectures, plays or a meeting space for local groups can also help maintain interest and increase footfall. The key to increasing local interest for both museums and historical sites is to have a good number of regular well publicised, varied additional activities and events that will appeal to as wide a range of people as possible, and encourage others to visit. 涉及知识点:大作文。
