“香格里拉”is transformation form of
English word Shangril which means land of idyllic beauty (世外桃源) It was created by America novelist James Hilton in his long novel lost Horizon <失去的地平线> in 1993. He described a eternal ,peaceful ,tranquil land , and it has snow peak ,valley , and temple which is full of mystery color . More coincidently in zang language ,the word Shangri-La means hearts of sun and moon .
Lijiang is impressive also because of its scenery and lush vegetation(植 被) .The people of Naxi ,while developing their land of snow –clad mountains and turbulent rivers since ancient times ,have to their credit the “DongBa culture” seen as one of the world wonders ,a culture all embracing while unique .
