have summarized what the Retriever software package is and how it works by searching for the necessary information from the text, by filling the worksheet and by answering the relevant questions.

2学情分析

As frequent users, they are familiar with the high-tech apps, which may help them quickly involved in the class and get the idea of the text. Besides, they are active and cooperative.

smooth off the barriers of the new words in the while-reading part;

set a realistic situation to quickly get Ss involved in the class;

have every student do their part in the activity;

ensure input facilitates Ss’ output.

活动1【导入】pre-reading

Purpose:

To introduce the topic by providing a real situation and by eliciting ways of gett ing the laptop back

Students' activities:

Watch the first part of a video clip on “Michael Lost His Laptop” and answer th

e question “What happened to the laptop?”.

Raise suggestions on how to help Michael find the laptop back.

Watch the second part of the video clip on “A Software Helped Michael find th

e laptop back” and answer the question “How did Michael find the laptop bac

k?”.

活动2【讲授】while-reading

Purpose:

To lead in the passage and get Ss have a general idea about the software’s function

Students' activities:

Guess the function of the Retriever software package.

Purpose:

To help Ss get the main content of the text

Students' activities:

Skim the passage and figure out what the text is mainly about.

Purpose:

To help Ss sort the information they get

Students' activities:

Scan the text and complete the worksheet.

Purpose:

To help Ss have a better understanding of the text

Students' activities:

Check the answers; answer detailed questions on the passage and some new vocabulary.

Purpose:

To lead in the case report

Students' activities:

Use an adjective to describe the software.

活动3【活动】post-reading

Purpose:

To consolidate the text by fulfilling the case report

Students' activities:

Pick, read, make clear of the mission and carry out the mission in a group of four.

Several groups report the case to the class.
