句中as they were wandering around用作时间状语；sitting against a tree in the distance 是现在分词短语，用作宾语a man的补足语。介词against意思为“靠着”

against 介词 prep.

3). 以...为背景，衬托 The little red house looks so beautiful against the green wood s.

4). 不利于 She has said nothing against you .

5). 防备;预防 We bought some warm clothes against the coming winter.

我们添置了一些御寒的衣服以迎接即将来临的冬季。

zip vi./vt. (使沿某方向）快速移动, 拉上拉链

e.g. I’m just zipping into town to buy some food. 我正急着到镇上买点吃的。

This jacket zips up right to the neck.这件夹克的拉链一直拉到脖子。
