Hope is a powerful force that has the ability to keep us going even in the darkest of times. It is the light that shines through when everything else seems bleak.For me, hope has been a constant companion throughout my life. When I was younger, I struggled with anxiety and depression. But even in my darkest moments, I held onto hope that things would get better. And they did. Through therapy and self-care, I was able to overcome my struggles and find happiness.Hope has also helped me in my career. As an entrepreneur, I face many challenges and setbacks. But I always hold onto hope that my hard work and dedication will pay off in the end. And it has. I have a friend who was diagnosed with cancer, and even though the prognosis was grim, she never lost hope. She fought hard and ultimately beat the cancer. Her hope and determination were truly inspiring.Overall, hope is a vital part of life. It gives us strength and resilience in the face of adversity. 当时连26个字母都背不下来的她，开始时有些抵触情绪。

她就读于一所很不错的小学，上四年级(year four)。

吉林省希望之星英语竞赛流程
小学组、初中组竞赛共有三个环节：
一、自我展示：选手可以用英语自我介绍、英语演讲、英语讲故事等。

（本环节1分钟至1分半钟）
二、考官提问：考官就选手“自我展示”的内容,向选手提问。

（本环节30秒至1分钟）
三、现场作答：选手抽出一个现场作答题,选手要用英语来答题,本环节考察选手即时反映能力。

（本环节2－3分钟）
高中组、大学成人组竞赛共有三个环节：
三名选手一起进入考场,现场抽签决赛发言顺序。

一、自我介绍：用英语向考官作个自我介绍。

（本环节每人一分钟）
二、微型演讲：内容不限（本环节每人两分钟）。

三、共同辩论：考官给出一个辩题,三名选手现场讨论、共同发言.考官根据每名选手的表现打分。
