After you hear a question, you must choose the best answer from the four choices marked A), B), C) and D).Passage OneQuestions 6 to 10 are based on the passage you have just heard.Script:Passage OneMany people have concerns about taking their cars on long trips, especially if their cars are getting on in years or mileage. The truth is, long trips are actually easier on your car than day-to-day driving, but a breakdown far from home can really destroy the fun. A few simple checks will help you to avoid many common problems. Two to four weeks before you go, get any major repairs done. If your car needs major repair or maintenance, do it at least one month before you go. That will allow plenty of time for any problems related to the repair to appear. Before you pack, give your car a good wash. Clean cars always seem to run better. Besides, who wants to travel in a dirty car? Make sure your tires are inflated to the proper pressure. Low pressure can be a problem. Follow the instructions for checking tire pressure in your owner's manual. You should also check the spare tire. Make sure it is fully inflated and that other important spare parts are in the trunk. Before you go, open your suitcases and take one last look. Ask yourself, do you really need all that stuff? If there's anything you can do without, leave it home. If you're carrying lots of heavy objects, position them forward in the trunk and divide the weight evenly side to side. Cars don't have unlimited carrying capacity, so don't overload. There is no guarantee that unexpected things cannot happen. But if you've followed these guidelines, you've avoided a lot of potential problems. Relax and enjoy your trip!6.People have concerns about driving on long trips ____ .A) if their cars are newly boughtB) if they have never driven on long trips beforeC) if their cars are quite oldD) if they haven't bought insurance for their carsScript: People have concerns about driving on long trips ____ .正确答案: C 学生答案:A得分:0 分7.When does one have to repair his car if it needs major repair?A) One to two weeks before one goes.B) Two to four weeks before one goes.C) At least one month before one goes.D) At least two months before one goes.Script: When does one have to repair his car if it needs major repair? 正确答案: C学生答案:C得分: 2 分8.Before you pack, what should you check the tires for?A) Hardness.B) Newness.C) Leaks.D) Pressure.Script: Before you pack, what should you check the tires for? 正确答案: D学生答案:D得分: 2 分9.How should you position the heavy objects in the trunk?A) Make them take as little space as possible.B) Divide the weight evenly.C) Separate them from side to side.D) Group them according to their types.Script: How should you position the heavy objects in the trunk? 正确答案: B学生答案:D得分:0 分10.If one has followed all these guidelines, ____ .A) a lot of problems will be prevented from happeningB) there will be no problem on the tripC) a lot of money has to be paidD) many useful things have to be left at homeScript: If one has followed all these guidelines, ____ .正确答案: A 学生答案:A得分: 2 分Passage Two Questions 11 to 15 are based on the passage you have just heard.Script:Before you fly to China, you should know that the national airline is Air China. The truth is,long trips are actually easier on your car than day-to-day driving, but a breakdown far from home can really destroy the fun. A few simple checks will help you to avoid many common problems. Two to four weeks before you go, get any major repairs done. If your car needs major repair or maintenance, do it at least one month before you go.That will allow plenty of time for any problems related to the repair to appear. Before you pack, give your car a good wash. Clean cars always seem to run better. Besides, who wants to travel in a dirty car? Make sure your tires are inflated to the proper pressure. Low pressure can be a problem. Follow the instructions for checking tire pressure in your owner's manual. You shouldalso check the spare tire. Make sure it is fully inflated and that other important spare parts are in the trunk. Before you go, open your suitcases and take one last look. Ask yourself,do you really need all that stuff? If there's anything you can do without, leave it home. If you're carrying lots of heavy objects, position them forward in the trunk and divide the weight evenly side to side. Cars don't have unlimited carrying capacity, so don't overload. There is no guarantee that unexpected things cannot happen. But if you've followed these guidelines, you've avoided a lot of potential problems. Relax and enjoy your trip! 6.People have concerns about driving on long trips ______. A nonstop from New York to Beijing lasts 14 hours while a flight to Shanghai lasts up to 18 hours. There are four airport hubs within China: Beijing, Guangzhou Baiyun International, Shanghai Hongqiao and Shanghai Pudong. Each airport includes taxis, public and shuttle buses, duty free shops, banks, post offices, business and Internet facilities and bars and restaurants. Important to noteis the departure tax, which is paid in Chinese currency, or RMB, only.Once you are in China, you can take many kinds of transportation like rail, sea and automobile. Railways are the major means of transportation throughout China. The trains are inexpensive, safe and well maintained operating between major cities. Questions 3 to 5 are based on the conversation you have just heard.
Script: A: Hi, Jessica. Where have you been?
B:Paris. My boyfriend and I went back only yesterday.
A: I'm sorry to hear that.
B: And the worst part is, I couldn't find my passport at the airport when we were about to go back toNew York. Then I called the hotel and they found it in my room, under the pillow. That was the only good news I had inParis.
Before traveling, research your travel destination and take advantage of free time you may have. On a recent trip toNew Haven, I had a few free hours to myself before my plane departed. Ahead of time, I researched a few good restaurants that I wanted to try. I downloaded a Yale walking tour to my cell phone so I could see the campus and take pictures. You may have friends or relatives close to your travel destination. Take their information in case you have an opportunity to see them. Often, business trips are too busy for you to do anything besides going to work, going to dinner, and sleeping. However, sometimes you may have delays or cancellations. You should also check the weather. It may be nice when you are departing for your trip. The weather on your return trip may be a whole other story.

Preparation is the key to success for any business traveler —whether you are an experienced traveler or beginner traveler. Here are my suggestions for preparing for any business trip. Before traveling, research your travel destination and take advantage of free time you may have. On a recent trip to New Haven, I had a few free hours to myself before my plane departed. Ahead of time, I researched a few good restaurants that I wanted to try. However, sometimes you may have delays or cancellations. You should also check the weather. It may be nice when you are departing for your trip. The weather on your return trip may be a whole other story. There are a few other things to keep in mind when you go on trips. Traveling on the company can be a great way to see the world. It's not a vacation. Business trips can be exhausting! If you are going on a trip for training, you will probably have a few hours of free time each night. You can take this opportunity to know more people. Later you can go back to your hotel room to do work. You could also take advantage of sporting events, shows, or music in the area. At the end of each passage, you will hear some questions. Both the passage and the questions will be spoken only once.
