I major in Civil Engineering. As a matter of fact, it is not my favorite subject at all since I have been dreaming of becoming a software designer. Just because my scores of the college entrance examination did not reach the requirement of the major of Computer Science in my university, I was arranged to the Civil Engineering Department against my own will. Since it was and still is a common practice in China, I was not hurt and even felt a little proud of being enrolled in one of the top universities in our country.

Although the life in the university is much freer than that in the high school, I keep studying hard, for I know study is my fundamental task and it is not easy for my parents to support my higher education. When I was a child I played this game very often. The game needs at least five kids to start, and the more kids participate, the more fun it is. One child will play the “eagle” and another child as the “mother hen”. The rest will be the “chicks”, lining up behind the hen, with both hands holding on to the clothes of the chicks in front. In the game, the eagle tries to catch one of the chicks, who then takes his/her role as the eagle. The mother hen tries to protect her children with her arms stretched.
