摘要

机械工业素有“工业的心脏”之称。它是其他经济部门的生产手段，也可说是一切经济部门发展的基础。它的发展水平是衡量一个国家工业化程度的重要标志。为促进民族地区的现代化，必须加速发展机械工业。

经过新中国60年的努力，中国的机械工业实力和国际地位都有了显著的提升，显著机械工业正在发生着历史性的变化，行业发展已进入产业升级的重要阶段，中国将逐步由机械大国向机械强国所迈进。

当今，制造业的世界格局已经和正在发生重大的变化，欧、亚、美三分天下的局面已经形成，世界经济重心开始向亚洲转移已出现征兆，制造业的产品结构、生产模式也在迅速变革之中。所有这些又给我们带来了难得的机遇。挑战与机遇并存，我们应该正视现实，面对挑战，抓住机遇，深化改革，以振兴和发展中国的机械制造业为己任，励精图治，奋发图强，以使我国的机械制造业在不太长的时间内，赶上世界先进水平。
