SVC系列稳压器由接触式自耦调压器、伺服式电动机、自动控制电路等组成。当电网电压不稳定或负载变化时，自动采样控制电路发出信号驱动伺服电机、调整自耦调压器碳刷的位置，使输出电压调整到额定值并达到稳定状态。SVC系列稳压器为普通型，品种多、规格全、外表美观。具有波形不失真、性能可靠、可长期运行等特点。设有过压保护功能，根据用户需要，可设欠压、延时等保护功能。可广泛用于任何用电场所，是一种理想的稳压电源。SVC系列三相高精度全自动交流稳压器是SVC系列单相产品性能的组合，输入相制为三相四线制，在额定电容量范围内，可同时供电源电压为单相220V和三厢380V用电设备使用，并设有过电压保护。

当输入电压变化或负载变化时，取样控制电路进行取样、放大，使伺服电机按所需方向带动稳压器转臂转动，调整输出电压直至符合额定值，达到稳定之目的。当输入电压高于设定电压，或者电压低于设定电压，或发生故障时，本稳压器过压保护电路启动自动关闭输出，防止用电器受损。当用于冰箱、空调、冰柜的稳压时，可选择延时输出状态，防止短时停电又来电时使压缩机发生闷机而损坏。
