推荐的主要读物有以下这些:Humanities(人文科学):1.The Writing Life by Annie Dillard's;2.The Southern Artist: Kreg Kallenberger by Lindsay Heinsen;3.In Search of Our Mothers' Gardens by Alice Walker (Autobiographical Essay);4.Bowman's Store: A Journey to Myself by Joseph Bruchac;5.Borderline by Kathleen Norris;6.On Native Grounds: An Iterpretatioin of Modern American Prose Literature by Alfred Kazin;7.Reading Blind by Margaret Atwood;8.The Piano Shop on the Left Bank by Thad Carhart;9.The Professor and the Madman by Simon Winchester;10.My Heart Is in the Earth: True Stories of Alabama and Mexico by Wayne Greenshaw (TheMemoir).Social Science(社会科学):1.Indian Givers: How the Indians of America Transformed the World, Jack Weatherford,(Social Science, Kindle);2.How Courts Govern America, Richard Neely;3.American Sphinx: The Character of Thomas Jefferson, Joseph Ellis, (Social Science, Kindle);4.Biomimicry: Innovation Inspiredby Nature, Janine M. ACT考试爱习语
近来ACT考试中最常见的习语有以下这些:• hush-hush: secret• under wraps: secret• streak past: go past quickly• came about: happened• in the midst: during• sheds light on: reveals, explains• ill at ease: uncomfortable (mentally, not physically)• dwell on: focus on for longer than necessary• against the clock: under time pressure• stumbled upon: discovered by accident学习习语是非常困难的,因为英语中的习语数量实在太多了。
