Do as the Romans do!附:Chinese Table MannersHow much do you know about Chinese table manners? In fact, they are quite different from other countries. Before you go to a friend’s house for dinner in China, it’s good to know about certain customs.SeatingDifferent from the western, tables in China are usually round. Before dinner, you’ll be served by a cup of tea. The host doesn’t eat every d ish first until the guests and the elders begin. And you are not supposed to eat until everyone is at the table.TablewareChopsticks is the main tool for eating. But Remember, never point the chopsticks at another person. What’s more, you can’t hit bowls w ith chopsticks.Staple foodMost of the Chinese choose to have the staple food(主食) at last or have none of them at all. If you wish to have your rice to go with other dishes, you should say so in good time.ChattingThe atmosphere(气氛) of enjoying Chinese food is lively, people like chatting over eating. But talking and laughing loudly is not polite.Fetching(取) dishesDon’t be surprised if the Chinese hosts fetch the dishes for you. Hosts will always put piles of food into your bowl to make sure you have a nice meal. This is a sign of friendship and politeness. It is always polite to eat the food. Besides,it’s the best for you to thank the hosts for the dinner and toast the longevity, health and success of the host.Over-ordering foodPeople in China tend to over-order food, for they will find it embarrassing if all the food is eaten up. When you have had enough, just say so. Or you will always overeat!Hope you have a great time enjoying dinners in China!。

Before eating, While eating,Let’s share ,After eating.

Table manners
