[1] Watching the Olympics probably made some people feel a little guilty about not exercising. The truth is, if physical inactivity were a sport, a lot of us could give a gold – medal performance. Public health experts say physi cal inactivity is the world’s fourth leading cause of death. They estimate that inactivity plays a major part in six to ten percent of deaths from non –communicable diseases.

[2] The researchers compared data on physical inactivity with disease rates in 122 countries and drew a conclusion that , as harmful as far as deaths are concerned as smoking.

[3] Researchers also found that high income countries are the most inactive around the world, but low to middle income countries are not going to be far behind as things change, as their economies improve and their people rely more on the improvements that basically engineer physical activity out of our daily lives.

[4] They believe the time has come to target physical inactivity as a major threat to public health. Of course, it is not just telling someone to go out and be physically active, but how we can make a difference by simply walking to the store or walking down and being outside with friends and family and so forth. These broader environmental issues are becoming much clearer in terms of their effects.

[5] Experts challenge people to do 150 minutes a week of moderately intense exercise. According to one of the researchers: ―Anything you can do is great! Even if you don’t reach that 150 minutes a week, a little is better than none and more is better than a little. ‖

[6] Researchers plan to return every four years – just like the Olympics – (to give a progress report) to tell us how the world is doing.

[1]Some expressions describe people who are important，or who at least think they are．One such expression is bigwig．

a company，a political leader，a famous movie star．They are big wheels because they are powerful．What they do affects many people．Big wheels give the orders．Other people carry them out．As in many machines，a big wheel makes the little wheels turn．Big wheel became a popular expression after World WarⅡ．It probably comes from an expression used for many years by people who fix parts of cars and trucks．They said a person roiled a big wheel if he was important and had influence．

[4]The top of something is the highest part．So it is not surprising that top is part of another expression that describes an important person．The expression is top banana．A top banana is the leading person in a comedy show．The funniest comedian is called the top banana．The next is second banana．And so on．Why a banana?A comedy act in earlier days often included a part where one of the comedians would hit the others over the head with a soft object. The object was shaped like the yellow fruit：the banana．Top banana still is used mainly in show business．Y et the expression can also be used to describe the top person in any area．
