2006高考英语作文It was the year 2006, a time when everything seemed to be changing at a rapid pace. People were caught up in the whirlwind of technological advancements and social transformations. It was a time of excitement and uncertainty, as the world hurtled towards an uncertain future. In the midst of all this change, one thing remained constant: the power of human connection. Despite the rise of social media and digital communication, there was still a deep yearning for genuine, face-to-face interaction. People craved real connections, and sought outopportunities to come together and share their experiences. At the same time, there was a growing awareness of the need to protect our planet. Environmental issues were at the forefront of public consciousness, and more and more people were taking steps to reduce their carbon footprint and live more sustainably. It was a time of awakening, asindividuals and communities alike recognized the importance of preserving the earth for future generations. In the realm of education, there was a shift towards a more holistic approach. The focus was no longer solely on academic achievement, but also on developing well-rounded individuals with a strong sense of empathy and social responsibility. Schools and universities began to emphasize the importance of character education, and students were encouraged to engage in community service and volunteer work.Amidst all these changes, there was a sense of optimism and hope for the future. People were coming together to address the pressing issues of our time, and there was a growing sense of unity and purpose. It was a time of transformation, as individuals and societies alike reimagined what it meant to live a meaningful andfulfilling life.Looking back on 2006, it's clear that it was a time of both challenge and opportunity. I think the artist wants to show changes in the city. The man stands for the old generation in China: he is wearing old-fashioned clothes that date back to the beginning of the twentieth century; he is looking at the laptop in great curiosity, unable to figure out what it is. The girl, on the other hand, is totally different; she has long hair and wears a fashionable short skirt. While the man doesn’t know anything about the laptop, she plays with it skillfully. The striking differences between the two show rapid changes in people’s life in China.。

I believe the sculpture wants to tell us that our country should c ombine its long history with its modern science. Only in this way will we never repeat the few mistakes we’ve made and make more progress.第二档12---10The sculpture is a woman and an old man. The woman sit on a chair. She are using laptop to do something. The old man is standing there with a book in his hand. In my opinion, I know the different between modern life and old life. I think the artist is trying to tell us China is developing quickly and China will be more beautiful in the future.第三档:9---5I think the sculpture are tell us. Time pass too fast! They believed a public park should be free of charge. People need a place where they can rest and enjoy themselves. Charging entrance fees will no doubt keep some people away. What is more, it will become necessary to build gates and walls, which will do harm to the appearance of a city.On the other hand, 40% think that fees should be charged because you need money to pay gardeners and other workers and to buy plants and young trees. 2006年全国ⅱ卷高考英语作文

2006年全国ⅱ卷高考英语作文

2006年全国ⅱ卷高考英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Hi! My name is Tommy and I'm 10 years old. My teacher asked me to write about the English test thingy for the big kids who wanna go to university. I don't really know much about it, but I'll try my best!Last year, my big sister Sarah took this test. She's really smart and always gets good grades. But before the test, she was super stressed out! She studied like crazy for months. Every night, I could hear her muttering English words and sentences under her breath as she pored over her books. Sometimes, she'd ask me to quiz her on vocabulary or grammar rules. I didn't understand most of it, but I tried my best to help. The day of the test, Sarah woke up super early. Like, the sun wasn't even up yet! She got dressed in her fancy school uniform and scarfed down a quick breakfast. My parents kept telling her "You've got this!" and "Just do your best!" But Sarah looked really nervous. Her hands were shaking a little as she packed her pencil case. After what felt like forever, Sarah came home. She looked exhausted, like she'd just run a marathon! I asked her how it went, and she said it was really tough. Apparently, there were listening sections where you had to answer questions about audio recordings. Sarah's pretty good at listening, but she said some of the accents were really hard to understand. There was also a section on reading comprehension, where you had to read long passages and answer questions about them. Sarah said some of the vocabulary was super advanced and confusing. But the part Sarah dreaded most was the writing section. She had to write a whole essay, all in English! Can you imagine? I can barely write a short story in my own language, let alone an entire essay in English. Sarah said the essay prompts were all about really serious topics, like environmental issues or social problems. She had to come up with a clear thesis, provide evidence and examples, and write in a formal, academic style. No slang or casual language allowed! After Sarah finished, she looked like she wanted to cry. But our parents hugged her tight and told her they were proud of her no matter what. A few weeks later, Sarah's results came in the mail. She passed! We all cheered and had a little celebration. Sarah felt so relieved.Even though I'm just a kid, I have a lot of respect for students like my sister who work so hard for the college entrance exam. The English test seems incredibly difficult, with all those listening, reading, and writing sections. I don't know if I could handle that kind of pressure when I'm older. But I'm glad there are smart, determined students out there who take it on. Maybe Sarah will become an English teacher someday and make the tests a little easier for future students. A kid can dream, right?Anyway, that's my extremely unprofessional take on the whole college entrance English exam thing. I probably got a bunch of stuff wrong, but hey, I tried! Let me know if you need me to write about anything else. I'll use my best 10-year-old vocabulary!篇2My Big Summer Adventure!Hi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I just had the most exciting summer ever and I can't wait to tell you all about it! Buckle up because this is gonna be one wild ride.It all started on the last day of school. I was sooo happy that summer vacation was finally here! No more homework, no more waking up early, and no more cafeteria mystery meat (yuck!). Myparents surprised me and said we were going on a big road trip to visit my aunt and uncle who live on the other side of the country. I'd never been that far away from home before so I was really nervous but also super pumped! We packed up the car with all our stuff - my soccer ball, comic books, snacks for the road, you name it. Then we hit the road bright and early the next morning. My little sister Susie wouldn't stop singing "100 Bottles of Milk on the Wall" which drove me crazy at first. But after a while, I started joining in because it was kinda fun! After what felt like forever, we finally stopped for the night at this really cool motel with a giant pool shaped like a lake. My dad did a cannonball into the deep end and made the biggest splash ever! We had a blast swimming and goofing around. I didn't want the night to end.The next few days were awesome too. We saw so many cool roadside attractions like the World's Largest Jackalope, a house made completely out of bottles, and these crazy cool rock formations that looked like dinosaurs. We took about a million pictures of everything. Whenever we'd get back in the car, Susie and I would rate which stop was the coolest so far. It was tough because they were all so awesome in their own ways! Then we hit some bad weather - thunderstorms, hail, you name it. It was a little scary to be driving in that crazy mess. We had to pull over for a bit and grab some food at this dinky little diner. But it ended up being way better than any fancy restaurant because the pie was hands down the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. We all dug in and had a grand old time swapping funny road trip stories while we waited out the storm. When we finally made it to my aunt and uncle's place, I was exhausted from the drive but sooo happy to see them. They live on this huge ranch with horses, cows, chickens, and even a couple llamas! Over the next few weeks, my cousins showed me how to ride a horse (I was a natural, obviously), milk the cows, and collect eggs from the chicken coop. We went on tons of adventures exploring the ranch, splashing around in the creek, and just running around being crazy kids. We even managed to give the llamas some silly hairdos one day when my aunt wasn't looking. Whoops! One of the coolest things was stargazing at night. You could see about a billion more stars out there compared to back home. My uncle taught me how to find all the constellations and I even spotted a shooting star! We made s'mores around the campfireand told spooky stories that kept us up half the night. Best. Sleepover. Ever.Too soon, it was time to head back home. I was really sad to leave the ranch but sooo happy I got to have such an awesome adventure with my family. The drive home flew by as we looked back at all of our pics and videos from the trip. We stopped at some silly roadside shops to stock up on souvenirs and snacks for the road. I may or may not have convinced my parents to get me a lasso after watching me attempt to wrangle up those llamas...When we finally made it back to our house, I ran up to my room and tossed my dirty clothes everywhere as I unpacked (sorry Mom!). I couldn't wait to show my friends all the cool stuff I brought back and tell them stories about riding horses, eating world-famous pie, and exploring off-the-beaten-path gems along the way. This was a summer I'll never forget!Well, there you have it - the tale of my big summer road trip adventure! We made so many incredible memories as a family. And I learned that the journey really can be just as much fun as the destination, as long as you keep an open mind and bottle that spirit of exploration. Maybe next year we'll go on across-country train篇3My Awesome School LifeHi there! My name is Lily and I'm a 5th grader at Sunshine Elementary School. I just love being a student here - school is so much fun! Let me tell you all about my awesome school life.First up, my favorite subject is science class. We get to do the coolest experiments! Last week, we made little erupting volcanoes with baking soda, vinegar, dish soap and food coloring. It was so awesome watching them bubble up and spew out the red "lava"! I think I might want to be a scientist when I grow up so I can keep experimenting and figuring out how the world works.Recess time is the best part of the day though. I love running around on the playground with my friends. We play tag, jump rope, tetherball, you name it! Sometimes we even bring sidewalk chalk to draw enormous candy landscapes and pretend we've shrunk down tiny. My bestie Emma and I will spend the whole recess playing make-believe and being silly. We crack each other up so much!I'm also really into art class. Getting messy with paints, clay and glue is just the greatest! A few weeks ago, we learned aboutsculpting with Model Magic. I made this goofy looking dragon that now lives on my bedside table at home. It's not the best sculpture ever, but I'm proud of my crazy creation. Art lets me use my imagination and get creative in a different way than writing stories.Speaking of writing, English is probably my favorite academic subject. I just love reading the cool books we get to explore, like Where the Wild Things Are and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Books open up entire new worlds to discover! For our latest writing assignment, I got to pen a magical fantasy tale about a young girl who finds a secret doorway to a candy kingdom. My teacher Ms. Martin said she really enjoyed how descriptive and imaginative my story was. I glowed with pride after that! Then there's gym class...ugh, my least favorite! I'm just not very athletic or coordinated. Whether it's dodgeball, basketball, soccer or whatever, I'm always the last one picked for team sports. I get all sweaty having to run around and I'm honestly kind of clumsy. Coach Thompson is always yelling at me "Keep your eye on the ball, Lily!" But hey, at least gym gives me a chance to blow off some energy and stay active.Another thing I really dislike about school? The icky cafeteria food! It looks so gross and unappetizing most days. Just thinking about those gloopy, grayish mashed potatoes andbrownish-green mystery vegetables makes my stomach churn. I usually just pick at a fruit cup and package of saltine crackers then wait until I get home to eat a real snack. My lunch box with fun snacks from home is way better!Overall though, I absolutely love being a student at Sunshine Elementary. I have great buddies to goof around with, awesome teachers who keep things interesting, and I'm learning so much every single day! From science experiments to art projects to reading cool books, my days are filled with engagement and joy. Even with a couple downsides like gym class and yucky lunches, school life is pretty awesome when you're a kid. These are supposed to be the best days of our lives, so I'm just trying to soak up every second! I know I'll look back so fondly on all these amazing elementary school memories. Excuse me now while I go build another exploding Model Magic volcano...safe volcanic eruptions for the win!篇4My Day at SchoolHi there! My name is Tommy and I'm a fourth-grader at Sunny Elementary School. Today was a really fun day at school, and I want to tell you all about it!The day started like usual. Mom woke me up at 7 o'clock, and I had my favorite breakfast – pancakes with lots of syrup and a big glass of orange juice. After getting dressed in my school uniform, I grabbed my backpack and headed out the door. The school bus picked me up at 8 o'clock sharp. When I got to school, the first thing I did was hang up my backpack in my locker and meet up with my best friend, Sammy. We always spend a few minutes before class starts playing on the playground. Today, we played a quick game of tag. I'm faster than Sammy, so I won!The bell rang at 8:30, which meant it was time for our first class of the day – math. I really like math because I'm good at adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing numbers. Our teacher, Mrs. Johnson, is really nice too. She always makes math fun by giving us little puzzles and games to play. After math, we had reading class. We're currently reading a book called "Charlotte's Web" about a pig named Wilbur and his friend, a spider named Charlotte. It's a really cute story, but some parts are kind of sad. I don't want to spoil it for you, though!Next up was science class with Mr. Parker. He's my favorite teacher because he always does the coolest experiments. Today, we learned about volcanos by making our own mini volcano models out of baking soda, vinegar, and food coloring. It was so awesome watching the "lava" ooze out of the top! Science is definitely my favorite subject. We had a short recess after science class. Sammy and I played on the swings and the monkey bars. I can swing really high and do cool tricks. Sammy is too scared to swing that high, but that's okay. We still had lots of fun together. When the recess bell rang, it was time for art class with Mrs. Garcia. We learned about different painting techniques and got to make our own paintings using Q-tips and tempera paints. I made a really pretty picture of a sunset over the ocean. Art class is always so relaxing. Finally, the last class of the day was music with Mrs. Miller. She taught us a new song called "The Green Grass Grew All Around" and we got to play along on our xylophones and tambourines. Music is another one of my favorite classes because I love singing and playing instruments. Mrs. Miller even lets us make up silly dance moves to go along with the songs! At 3 o'clock, it was time to go home. I met up with Sammy again and we walked to the bus loop together. We talked about our favorite parts of the day and made plans to have a sleepover this weekend. Once I got home, I had a snack, did my homework, played outside for a little bit, had dinner with my family, took a bath, and then got ready for bed. What a fun and busy day at school!Even though I'm just a kid, I really love learning new things every single day. School can be challenging sometimes, but my teachers and friends make it so enjoyable. I feel very lucky to be a student at Sunny Elementary. I can't wait to see what adventures tomorrow will bring!篇5My Day at the Exam HallWow, the big day finally came! Yesterday was the English exam for the national college entrance test. I'm just a little kid in elementary school, but my big brother was taking the exam, so I got to tag along and see what it was like. It was super exciting! We had to wake up really early, like when it was still dark outside. My brother was pretty nervous, but Mom made hisfavorite dumplings for breakfast to cheer him up. Once we were all ready, we piled into Dad's car and headed to the exam hall. There were so many people there! Hundreds of students dressed in their school uniforms, along with their families. The exam hall was this huge building that kind of looked like a castle. We had to go through a security check before going inside. The nice security guards asked us to open our bags and checked with a metal detector wand thingy to make sure nobody brought anything they shouldn't have.Once we were allowed in, we followed the signs to the giant auditorium where the English exam would be held. It was even bigger than the auditorium at my school! There were so many desks and chairs all perfectly lined up. An authoritative-looking lady with a microphone told everyone where to sit according to their exam numbers that were printed on these hard cardboard name tents on each desk.My brother got seated somewhere in the middle, so Mom, Dad and I found some empty seats along the side to watch. We had to be really quiet so we didn't disturb the exam takers. The auditorium slowly filled up until there wasn't an empty seat left. I've never seen so many people in one room before! Finally, the strict-looking teachers who would be proctoring the exam came in carrying big boxes of test papers and No. 2 pencils. They passed them out very carefully, making sure each student got the right test booklet. You could hear a pin drop, it was so quiet as everyone waited for instructions. Then the head proctor, this older man with a booming voice, welcomed everyone and went over all the rules. He reminded the students not to cheat or make any noise, keep their eyes on their own papers, and that they had exactly three hours to complete the English exam. Three whole hours?! That's like an entire morning of endless spelling tests at my school. When he yelled "Begin!" everyone frantically started flipping through the test booklets and scribbling with their pencils. I couldn't actually see the test questions, but some of the students' facial expressions looked really confused and worried.A few kids raised their hands to ask the proctors walking around for help or clarification on a question.Three hours felt like forever! Some students finished way earlier than others and just had to wait silently at their desks with their heads down. My brother was one of the last ones to turn in his booklet, like five minutes before time was finally up. Whenthe head proctor shouted "Stop writing!" he jumped in his seat a little. After that, the proctors collected all the test papers and pencils while everyone stayed seated. They made a big deal about counting and securely boxing up the tests before any students could leave. Finally, we were allowed to exit in an orderly line. My brother looked super relieved to be done, but also really tired like he had just run a marathon! We gave him big hugs and high fives for working so hard.On the car ride home, Mom and Dad took my brother out for a celebratory lunch at his favorite pizza place. He got to order anything he wanted off the menu as a reward. While we were eating, he told us how the reading comprehension passages were really difficult, but he felt okay about the other sections like grammar and vocabulary. He said he wished there was more time for the essay writing part at the end.Overall, it was such a cool experience getting to see the big English exam in person! The whole thing was very serious and intense, but I got a glimpse of what I'll have to look forward to when I'm older. I just need to keep studying hard in school. Although watching for three hours straight gave me a new appreciation for how patient篇6My Summer VacationHi there! My name is Li Ming and I'm 10 years old. I just finished the 4th grade and I had the best summer vacation ever this year! I want to tell you all about it.It started out kind of boring at first. My parents both work a lot, so for the first few weeks I was just hanging around the house a lot playing video games and watching TV. That was fun for a little while, but after a couple weeks I got really bored of doing the same old thing every day. Then my mom said we were going to go visit my grandparents in the countryside for a few weeks. I wasn't too excited about that at first because their house is pretty old and there's not much to do there besides help out on their little farm. But it turned out to be way more fun than I thought it would be!When we first got there, my grandpa put me to work right away feeding the chickens and pigs and helping him out in the veggie garden. I kind of groaned about having to do chores at first, but then I realized how cool it was to see where our food actually comes from. We collected eggs from the chickens, picked ripe tomatoes and cucumbers, and I even got to milk the cow!My grandma taught me how to cook some really yummy dishes with the fresh veggies and eggs we gathered. We made dumplings, fried rice, and even a delicious egg foo young dish. Grandma said I was a natural in the kitchen! The best part was that we got to eat the food we prepared with ingredients straight from their little farm.Aside from the farm work, my grandparents also taught me lots of other cool stuff on their vacation. Grandpa showed me how to fish in the little stream behind their house. We would wake up early before sunrise, trudge down to the stream through the tall grass, and wait patiently for the fish to start biting. It took a lot of practice but eventually I got good at it and even caught a couple big ones!My grandma was really good at traditional Chinese arts and crafts. She taught me how to do calligraphy using a bamboo brush and ink stone. It was so hard to get the brush strokes just right, but she was a great teacher and I didn't get too frustrated. By the end of our stay, I had made my own handwritten scrolls with cool sayings and poems on them.Grandma also showed me the traditional embroidery skills her mother had taught her. We spent several days working together on an embroidered wall-hanging with beautiful flowers and birds stitched into the fabric. It took a lot of concentration and patience, but I was really proud of how my section of the wall-hanging turned out in the end. When we weren't busy with farm chores, fishing, calligraphy or embroidery, there was still plenty to keep me entertained on my grandparent's vacation. I spent hours exploring the open fields, forests and streams around their little village. I went on long walks with my grandpa and he taught me all about the different plants, trees and animals we saw. I caught cool bugs like praying mantis and watched baby bunnies hopping around. Some days we would go on mini hiking adventures up into the mountains near their village. The scenery was just breathtaking up there! We packed simple lunches of rice balls and veggies and ate them while enjoying the incredible views from the mountain tops. I had never seen views like that living in the crowded city.On a couple of the nights during our stay, my grandparents' village hosted outdoor activities that were a blast. One night there was a traditional Chinese opera performed in the townsquare that was really interesting and colorful, with such ornate costumes and music. Another night they had folk dancing where all the villagers participated, with a live band playing. I even got out there and tried a couple of the simpler dances which was so much fun.Towards the end of our visit, there was a village festival that celebrated the summer harvest season. My grandparents' village went all-out for this thing! There were booths set up selling tasty snacks and playing games to win prizes. There was also live entertainment like acrobats and a Chinese yo-yo performer who could do amazing tricks. The best part was the Dragon Dance performed by dozens of villagers carrying this huge, elaborate dragon costume while music played. It was so cool to watch! On our final night in the village, the entire community gathered for。

2006年高考英语作文English:As technology continues to advance at an unprecedented rate, the debate over the impact of technology on our lives has become increasingly prominent. On the one hand, technology has undoubtedly brought about numerous benefits, such as improved communication, access to information, and convenience in daily tasks. However, it has also raised concerns about privacy, the gap between the rich and the poor, and the potential for addiction to technology. In my opinion, while it is crucial to embrace the advantages that technology offers, it is equally important to approach its use with caution and mindfulness. We must strive to find a balance between reaping the benefits of technology and safeguarding our well-being and privacy. It ultimately comes down to how we choose to integrate technology into our lives and the measures we take to mitigate its potential negative repercussions.中文翻译:随着技术以前所未有的速度不断发展,关于科技对我们生活影响的辩论越来越突出。

The reason is that it takes less time to understand the whole story. Besides, the film is usually more interesting, and it is easier to follow. Some others have just the opposite opinion. They think that they can get more detailed in formation from the original. Meanwhile, the language in the book is possibly more lively and beautiful.Personally, I agree with the second view. Actually I have more reasons for it. I think I can stay at home, reading quietly in a situation of my own, and what's more, I am able to better understand the author's ideas. In a word, to read the original work is better than to see the film based on it.四川卷假设你是李华,你的新西兰笔友Nick将于八月来四川旅游,特来信询问有关旅游景点情况。

06年英语全国卷一作文

As a high school student, I vividly remember the English composition task from the 2006 National English Exam Paper I. The prompt was to write a letter to a friend who had recently moved to a new city, describing my daily life and inviting them to visit.I started the letter by expressing my excitement about the friends new adventure and how I was looking forward to hearing all about their experiences in the new city. I then moved on to describe my daily routine, which included attending classes, participating in extracurricular activities, and spending time with family and friends.I mentioned how my school day typically began with morning classes, followed by lunch with my classmates. Afternoons were filled with more classes and sometimes sports or club activities. I shared how I enjoyed the camaraderie and the sense of community at school, which made the day go by quickly. In the evenings, I would often study for a few hours before having dinner with my family. I described the warmth and comfort of these family dinners, where we would catch up on each others day and share stories. I also mentioned how I would sometimes go out with friends after dinner to watch a movie or grab a snack, cherishing the moments of laughter and bonding.I then transitioned to the main purpose of the letter, which was to invite my friend to visit. I painted a picture of the beautiful sights and attractions in my city, and how I would love to show them around. I suggested thatwe could visit the local landmarks, try out different local cuisines, and explore the citys vibrant nightlife.I concluded the letter by expressing my eagerness to see my friend again and catch up on old times. I reassured them that they would always have a place to stay and a friend to guide them through the city. I signed off with warm regards and a promise to stay in touch.Writing this letter allowed me to reflect on my daily life and the things I cherished most. It also served as a reminder of the importance of maintaining friendships, even when distance separates us. The experience of writing this composition was both enjoyable and meaningful, as it allowed me to express my feelings and create a connection with my friend through words.。

06高考英语作文Dear Editor,I am writing to express my thoughts on the importance of environmental protection and the role each one of us plays in it. With the rapid development of industry and technology, our planet is facing numerous environmental challenges. It is high time we took action to protect our only home.First and foremost, the air pollution caused by industrial emissions and vehicle exhausts has become a severe issue. We should advocate for the use of public transportation and the development of green energy to reduce the reliance on fossil fuels. Moreover, the excessive use of plastic products has led to a significant increase in waste, which not only pollutes the environment but also harms wildlife. It is crucial that we promote the use of biodegradable materials and encourage recycling programs.Additionally, the preservation of natural habitats is essential for maintaining biodiversity. We should support policies that protect forests, wetlands, and other ecosystems from destruction. In conclusion, protecting the environment is a collective responsibility. We must work together to implementsustainable practices and educate others about the importance of environmental conservation. By doing so, we can ensure a healthier and more sustainable future for generations to come.Yours sincerely,[Your Name]This letter could be a sample essay for a high school student preparing for the college entrance examination, focusing on environmental issues and suggesting practical solutions.。

2006高考英语作文推荐

1.A LETTER TO A FRIENDDear Helen:We have not seen each other for a long time. I miss (think of) you very much. I wish I had wings and could fly to your home. However, this is impossible!Father has gone abroad of late. If I had had time then, I would have accompanied him. Only Mother and I are at home at present. We are leading a quiet and happy life. We look as if we were fairies. I hope that I can hear from you very often. Yours, David2.A MODEL STUDENTWould you like to be called a bad student? Of course not. So far as I know, everybody intends to be (become) a model student. However, to be a model student is by no means an easy thing. First, he must do his best to obtain knowledge. A man without sufficient knowledge will not succeed.Secondly, he must remember to improve his health. Only a strong man can do great tasks. Thirdly, he should receive moral education. If his conduct is not good, no one will consider making friends with him.3.BOOKSAs is well known, books teach us to learn life, truth, science and many other useful things. They increase our knowledge, broaden our minds and strengthen our character. In other words, they are our good teachers and wise friends. This is the reason why our parents always encourage us to read more books.Reading is a good thing, but we must pay great attention to the choice of books. It is true that we can derive benefits from good books. However, bad books will do us more harm than good.4.DUTIES OF A STUDENTEducation is the very thing that we want to receive. Our parents send us to school so as to enable us to get (obtain)knowledge and achieve great things in the future. The following are the duties of a student (which) we should keep in mind.In the first place, we should be filial to our parents and respectful to our teachers. In the second place, we have to (must ) study as hard as we can. Last of all, we must not tell lies.To sum up, the above-mentioned rules are the very duties ofa student.5.BE PATRIOTICIt is the duty of every citizen to make the country rich and powerful . In order to accomplish this object one must be patriotic . I consider this an unchangeable truth. How can a student love his country ? I find my answer very simple and clear. He must study hard and store up knowledge so as to serve his country in the future. If every student can do according to whatI said, the country will certainly be rich and powerful.6.FACTORS OF SUCCESSI would rather suffer hardships than fail. In other words, to achieve success is my only desire. We all know that there are many factors of success. Now let me write down the most important ones in the following.Diligence — Foolish as a person is, he can succeed in his work if he works hard. That does not admit of any doubt.Perseverance —When you fail, don't lose heart. Keep on working until you accomplish your aim.Honesty—If you tell lies or does not keep your words, no one will rely on you. I would rather be scolded than cheat (others).7.HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICYThere is an English proverb which says (saying)“Honesty is the best policy.” It signifies the importance of honesty. What are the benefits of honesty? If you are honest to others, they will be honest to you in return. When you are sad, they will comfort you. When you are in trouble, they will help you. There is no enumerating the evils of dishonesty here. In a word, a dishonest man will be looked down upon by others and (be) regarded as a public enemy.8.HOW I SPENT MY SUMMER VACATIONNo sooner had the summer vacation begun than I returned to my native town. Of course I must make good use of it;otherwise I would incur the displeasure of my parents. In the morning I reviewed my lessons and read newspapers or magazines. In the afternoon I played ball games with my friends or went fishing in the river. At night I watched television with my family (the members of my family). Hardly had the clock on the wall struck ten when I went to bed.INDUSTRY (DILIGENCE)It is a matter of course that industry will bring us success, wealth and good luck. I am sure that a hard-working person can always succeed in the work which he wants to do. This is unchangeable truth.Idleness is the opposite of industry. It is the source of all evil. An idle man only enjoys playing and making pleasures. That he is doomed to failure is of no doubt. We should not follow his example.9.HOW TO BE A GOOD CITIZENMy aim is to become a good citizen so as to be able to render service to the country. However, to become a good citizen is notan easy thing. He has many duties to fulfill .The first duty of a good citizen is to love his country. He must be ready to sacrifice even his own life for the country. His second duty is to obey the law and help the government (to) maintain order. If everybody can do so, the country will be rich and strong (powerful).10.HOW TO GET HAPPINESSThere is no doubt that happiness is the most precious thing in the world. Without it, life will be empty and meaningless. If you wish to know how to get happiness, you must pay attention to the following two points.First, health is the secret of happiness (the key to happiness). Only a strong man can enjoy the pleasure of life.Secondly, happiness consists in contentment . A man who is dissatisfied with his present condition is always in distress .11.KNOWLEDGE IS POWERIf we have no knowledge, we cannot succeed in doing any work. Why? Because knowledge is power. With knowledge we have conquered nature and invented steamers, trains and airplanes. We can send messages by telegram. We can talk with our friends by telephone. As is well known, we students are the future masters of the nation. She needs us very much. If we do not make efforts to acquire knowledge, how can we render service to her ?12.MONEYEverybody wishes to get money so that he can maintain his livelihood . In other words, money is so useful that it is impossible for mankind to live without it. For this reason, we have an interesting proverb. It says “Money can ma ke the world go around.” In a word, money is more powerful than anything else. However, money should not be wasted. It must be used for (some)proper purposes. We young men should form the good habit of not spending money in the wrong way.13.HOW TO SPEND SUNDAYSSome of us always spend Sundays aimlessly. We can seldom derive profits from the valuable hours (time) of Sundays. This is indeed a great pity. Though Sundays are set aside as a day for rest, we must make good use of them.We know that our school lessons are usually not sufficient. We should often utilize Sundays to read reference books. In this way we will increase our knowledge. Besides, we must be engaged in sports or outing so as to strengthen our bodies.14.MY AIMWhatever a man's status may be, he must have an aim. If not, he can hardly stand on his own two feet in the world. That stands to reason. However important fame and wealth may be, we must not let them become our object in life. We should aim at doing something useful to the society. If my aim can come true, I hope to be a teacher. However, teaching is by no means an easy thing. I must apply myself closely to my studies so as to be able to cope with my duties (as a teacher).15.THE BENEFITS OF TRAVELINGI am always interested in traveling. My reasons are extremely simple and clear. If anybody is not satisfied with my viewpoint, I shall be greatly surprised at his ways of thinking. In the first place, traveling increases our knowledge. Only by traveling can we see things outside our home town.In the second place, traveling is good to our health. While weare traveling, we usually exercise our bodies. In conclusion, I earnestly hope that everybody must seize (grasp at) the opportunity of traveling.16.MY FAVORITE PASTIMEIt goes without saying that work without rest will do harm to health. In other words, we had better take sufficient recreation to relax after work. There is no doubt that there are a number of amusements, such as playing ball games, collecting stamps, fishing, gardening, skating and so on.= " 1 3 6 " > 0 0 A s f o r m e , I t a k e g r e a t d e l i g h t i n g a r d e n i n g .
