先进制造技术源于20世纪80年代的美国，为提高制造业的竞争力和促进国家经济增长而提出。同时，以计算机为中心的新一代信息技术的发展，推动了制造技术的飞跃发展，逐步形成了先进制造技术的概念。先进制造技术是在现代制造战略的指导下，不断吸取计算机、信息、自动化、新材料和现在传统管理技术，将其综合应用于产品的研究与开发、设计、生产、管理和市场开发、售后服务，同时能取得社会经济效益的综合技术。近年来，随着科学技术的不断发展和学科间的相互融合，先进制造技术迅速发展，不断涌现出新技术、新概念。制造技术尤其是先进制造技术将主宰一个国家的命运，因而，各国政府都非常重视先进制造技术的研究和发展。中国汽车制造业的发展目标是通过自主创新，掌握核心技术，使中国从一个制造大国向产业强国迈进。把握世界汽车制造技术发展动态，关注世界汽车制造技术的发展趋势，可及时为企业发展决策提供信息。实践证明，最先进的技术不一定是最适用或最好的技术，只有那些用成本最低，环境污染最小的方式生产出满足产品质量要求的制造技术才是最好的。

China automotive industry development goals is through independent innovation，master core technology，the Chinese from a big manufacturing industry powerful nation strides to. Grasp the world automobile manufacturing technology development，the world automobile manufacturing technology development trends，in time for the enterprise development is decision-making provide information. Practice has proved，the most advanced technology is not necessarily the most suitable or the best technology，only those with the lowest cost，minimum environmental pollution way of production to meet the quality requirements of the manufacturing technology is the best.
